Really enjoyed our Road to Hana experience. Our guide (Roger) was extremely knowledgeable, informative, and attentive to everyone’s needs. Pristine views of the north and east coasts of Maui.

Itinerary
The Hana Highway is a 64.4-mile-long (103.6 km) , longest, coastal scenic route in the world. To the east of Kalepa Bridge, the highway continues to Kipahulu as Hawaii Route 31 (the Piilani Highway). This tour covers 59 single lane bridges, over 640 turns and curves, through lush, tropical rainforest. Most of the concrete and steel bridges date back to 1910.
Just four miles into your drive to Hāna from Kahului, you'll discover the historic town of Pāʻia on Maui's north coast. Divided into Lower Pāʻia and Pāʻia, this hospitable community was once a booming plantation town during the heyday of Maui's sugar cane industry. Today Pāʻia is a town of colorful, rustic storefronts filled with local art galleries, one-of-a-kind shopping boutiques and restaurants.
A perfect spot for a light breakfast when spotting local surfers and wild turtles and taking pictures of the famous Northshore coastline. Lavatories are available.
Twin Falls is the first easily accessible string of waterfalls and pools on the Road to Hana
Haipua'ena Falls is a small waterfall and pool along Maui's popular Road to Hana. Thanks to the unsigned trail and short hike over an often muddy path, the pool receives far less visitor traffic than the well-signed falls along the route.
Small Hawaiian villages doing their best to live like the Hawaiians of old. Hunting pigs and growing taro, bread fruit, and Bananas are all big parts of everyday life in this small community. It’s also the site of the famous Half Way to Hana Snack stand; shave ice, fresh coconut, cold drinks and of course the Original Fresh Baked Banana Bread. The Keanae overlook and peninsula offer views of one of the largest taro farms in Hawaii.
In 1983, Aunty Sandy Hueu began to bake her famous banana bread in Keʻanae, Maui. In 2003, her daughter Tammy joined the business to create an authentic family owned and operated food stand on the Keʻanae peninsula. Since then, Aunty Sandy's has become a must stop destination for hot, fresh baked banana bread.
Very photogenic spot to get photographed doing something life threatening.
Upper Waikani Falls is often referred to as Three Bears, thanks to the three separate but parallel falls of differing lengths—with the third and smallest being the “baby bear” falls on the right.
Wailua Falls is a picturesque, yet very easily accessible waterfall visible from The Hana Highway. You don't even need to get out of your car to see it!
Lava tubes are formed when massive flows cool on the surface forming an insulating conduit for the lava flowing underneath. During the creation of Maui’s volcanic landscape these served like the veins of the volcano, channeling lava for many miles underground before being deposited as new landmass (in this case, into the ocean.) After a volcano has been dormant for some time, these tubes usually begin to cave in and disappear under the forces of nature. Since much of the surface of Maui formed long ago, we have few lava tubes of significant size remaining; Ka’eleku Cave is the largest known accessible lava tube on Maui.
Located within Hana Bay is Hana Beach Park, which has a long black-sand beach and is the safest swimming beach along the East Maui coast. The bay is protected by a coral reef and harbored from big swells by its curved shape.
Wainapanapa is Maui’s famous Black Sand Beach and fresh water caves. Cobalt blue Ocean surrounded by black sand and black lava rocks from a recent flow only 10,000 years ago. Go for a walk along the edge of the bay and check out the blue water or just sit under a nice shade tree. This location is a great place to spend an hour relaxing, taking in one of the islands most beautiful locales. We serve picnic style lunch at this beautiful area. Swim at your own discretion. Lavatories are available.
Pua'a Ka'a Falls (rolling pig) resides in the Pua’a Ka’a State Wayside Park, which made it one of the rare waterfalls on the Hana Highway. Swim at your own discretion and risk in the freshwater pools. Lavatories are available.
Located just beyond Mile Marker 19 on the mauka—or mountain side—of Hana Highway, Upper Waikani Falls is often referred to as Three Bears, thanks to the three separate but parallel falls of differing lengths—with the third and smallest being the “baby bear” falls on the right.
Wailua Valley is an ahupuaʼa that sits just after the Keanae peninsula on the road to Hana. The area, though small, is rich in Hawaiian culture. It is here that an abundance of rare culturally significant fish and plant life can still be found. The area holds many ancient taro, or kalo, patches; a number of which are still in operation. In Hawaiian legend, taro is literally the older brother of all Hawaiians. And, so “Mahiʼaiʼana”, or cultivation of the land, is an ingrained principle that has endured for the people of Wailuanui.
The beautiful view from this lookout point really gives you a sense of what ancient Hawaii must have looked and felt like. It’s truly as though you received a glimpse back in time at untouched Maui.
Right beyond Kaumahina State Wayside Park you'll find a pullout that gives a good view of Honomanu Bay. From this vantage point you can get another good look at the Ke'anae Peninsula. The views from Kaumahina Wayside park are superior to this pullout, so if you can, be sure to stop at the Wayside Park instead.
Beautiful views of the Keanae Peninsula, lavatories are available.
The unique rainbow tree reveals bright shades of green, blue, purple, orange and maroon, as patches of its bark shed throughout the year. Hawaii hosts many of these beautiful shrubs that can grow to an over-elming height of 200 feet! Many consider the rainbow eucalyptus the most beautiful tree on earth.

This tour was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide, Roger, was very friendly and shared a lot of good information about the history of Hawaii and the sights we were seeing. He was also an excellent driver and made sure we all felt safe the entire team. I highly recommend!
My adult daughter and I had a wonderful experience with Marty and the rest of the group!! So much to take in; Marty gave plenty of photo opportunities! He led with humor and knowledge and answered questions (or found out answers)... Our group seemed like long lost friends with Marty throwing the reunion! The day went by quickly but plentiful! I am so grateful and I want everyone to know that my pinky is bruised but will heal fine, and for now gives me a reason to keep talking about our fabulous day on the road the Hana! A Hui Hou Kākou!!
Our driver and guide was Dom and he did an amazing job at both!! A very patient and extremely knowledgeable guide! He provided great historical information as well as answering all of our questions and kept us informed and entertained the entire day. It seemed there was nothing that could stump him!! We REALLY enjoyed our day and tour. Because of recent storms and road work there was a change or two to the original plan, but Dom stayed positive throughout and adjusted everything on the fly to make the most of the day for all of us. I just can't say enough about how terrific the entire experience was. Lunch, snacks and water were provided. They have a few umbrellas if it rains. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for walking on uneven surfaces. Bring cash, a light jacket and a small umbrella in case you need any of these to make your day more comfortable. You'll be climbing in and out of a van all day. It's a WONDERFUL trip but can be a long day for some. We loved every bit of it!!
We had a wonderful time on the Road to Hana. Our guide was excellent. The views were beautiful. Our guide was extremely informative about everything which was really nice. The only thing I would have changed is more time at the stop where the turtles were. I did not have enough time to walk down to see them so that was a disappointment. Im over 70 so not a fast walker!
The Road to Hana was really great! Quinn was our driver and he was so knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. He pointed out everything to us. We got to see so many waterfalls and I was able to get great photos. This is something that you have to see if your in Maui.
Great tour guide , Laura. She was very professional, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure going on this trip without getting car sick. Went to so many important scenic areas. It was nice not having to drive myself. The only issues was the van, it was pretty uncomfortable sitting in there with very little leg room.
It was a must do excursion. Beautiful scenery, informative, breathtaking view, and Roger our incredible tour guide made the day a delightful experience.
Dom seemed to know everything about the road to Hana, all the plants and had an anecdote about every spot. We stopped for banana bread at Aunt Sandy's and he knew about how many visitors they service every day. He also made a small detour at the request of one of our passengers for a Fire Dept shirt in Hana. Very knowledgeable, great driving (I'm so glad we decided on a tour instead of driving ourselves!). And of course, absolutely beautiful. Definitely recommend.
The scenery is awesome. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did her best to make sure everyone was informed along the trip. A narrow and windy road, but you never knew what to expect around the next twist in the road. I would not want to drive it myself, you would miss so much😀😎🤗🤗
Very qualified driver with a wealth of knowledge about Hawaii. This is a long day but well worth it. Can't imagine driving this road in a rental car.
The trip went off as detailed in the description. Our guide, Gaura, did an awesome job driving on the twisting road to Hana. She pointed out so many waterfalls and explained the various plant life. The stop at the bread stand was worth it and delicious. I recommend this company and guide.
You can't go wrong when you take this tour. Roger was great he made sure everything was on point . My group loved how he interacted with everyone
Great experience. Our guide was Marty, he was very informative and did great job of pointing out great views.
We had such a great time on this tour! Our tour guide Marty was super knowledgeable and ensured we saw and experienced as much as we could in Hana. The trip, waterfalls, and beach were breathtaking!
My family of 4 had a magical time on the Road to Hana! Roger was our driver and guide. His knowledge was outstanding! He was so kind and took such good care of my family. The sights were stunning and unforgettable! Thank you for an amazing time!
Roger was an absolutely fantastic host for our Road to Hana day tour! He was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and made the entire experience so enjoyable. He shared fascinating stories and local insights while making sure everyone felt comfortable and had a great time. The scenery was incredible, but Roger truly made the day special. Highly recommend Roger to anyone looking for an unforgettable Road to Hana experience! 🌺🌴🤙
Roger was an amazing host for our road to Hana activity. For our first time driving the road I am so glad we didn’t do it ourselves. Roger was so knowledgeable about everything! We learned about the vegetation in the rainforest, the culture of Maui and Hawaii as a whole. He was so positive, thoughtful, and warm. He truly made a whole day activity fly by with fun. He took us to the best spots and gave enough freedom to explore on our own as well at the black sand beach and the waterfalls. It was truly a perfect day and I cannot recommend Roger or this tour enough!
This is a lot of riding in a van, we stayed a little car sick- so if you like to ride and listen this is for you, but if you don’t like being in a crowded van all day- don’t book this. Also, this guide brought sandwiches for lunch and blueberry bread for breakfast. We didn’t like the sandwiches none of us- so we were starving for the most part- tried to survive on chips. Stops were under 15 minutes except for the black sand beach and waterfalls.
Quinn was a great guide with a ton of information and professional driving skills. They couldn’t have been any better
Our host/guide did a great job of explaining the importance and beauty of each area. His familiarity with the roads and history of the areas was evident.
Roger was fantastic, incredibly personable and knowledgeable. He took us to the best stops, and on such a long ride he knew the best bathroom stops (more important than you might think). Worth every penny.
Our host was Roger and he was outstanding! Safety first and very knowledgeable on the history and sites of interest.
The road to Hana was an experience I will never forget. Our Tour representative, Roger was full of information about the island, the volcano,
Mr. Marty, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about so many stuffs like history, volcano many more. He made our journey more exciting and did not make us feel slightest bit boring. The journey itself was very much scenic indeed.
Definitely worth it! Quinn was terrific! He was friendly, very knowledgeable and navigated the road expertly! Would highly recommend for first time visitors!
Great way to get an overview and the History behind the island, especially at the start of your trip!
Fun trip, even in the rain. Goura, was awesome and extremely knowledgeable having grown up in the area. She was friendly and really wanted our trip to be perfect. The views were nice, the stops times right, and the van clean and tidy. Overall it was a wonderful experience.
Quinn, our exceptional tour guide made our experience unforgettable. He was so knowledgeable and made the trip fun as he engaged with us the entire trip. Provided a very safe and enjoyable trip on the Road to Hana. Thanks Quinn.
I cannot say enough good things about this adventure. The beauty, the pit stops, and our guide, Quinn- all beyond words amazing!!! Quinn made sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of from the moment he picked us up. He is so knowledgeable and LOVES what he does. He ensured we got the best views and pictures possible. My family had an amazing time and we cannot wait to come back!
Quinn was an amazing guide on our Road to Hana trip! He did an excellent job driving (SO glad we didn't attempt to drive) and knew all the best spots for us to explore. He is so knowledgeable and we learned so much and his fun way of sharing the information was really special. We highly recommend Quinn and the Road to Hana trip!
Amazing tour guide great trip such beautiful scenery. Everything was well organized with ample opportunity for photos and breaks
Marty was the best guide. He went above and beyond to be sure we had a great experience. We had debated driving ourselves. So glad we took this tour. Highly recommend!
Bring a rain coat just in case it rains. The tour guide Dom was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had.
Our driver Dom was fantastic. He shared his knowledge of Hawaii's history, plants, and animals. The ride was beautiful. I am so happy I didn't have to drive.
Roger was very informative about Hawaiian history, island plants, advance warning about upcoming attractions. He was very thoughtful assisting people on/ioff as needed. And added a little humor in his stories!
Captains & the relationships they forge make the whole trip/excursion. Captain Marty is superbly TOP NOTCH. His focus on his people & candid knowledge of the winding, occasionally treacherous, road to Hāna was uncanny & intriguing. His passion for his craft shined through at every corner. His tips of where to jump from the cliff/waterfall & those words of encouragement will endure. Thanks for the fruit samples & for galvanizing the eclectic eleven kind sir. Cheers.
More time in transit than viewing sites. Our tour guide was exceptional. Very knowledgeable and entertaining.
Our Road to Hana tour with Marty was hands down the best experience of our entire week in Maui. From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully planned—bathroom breaks, photo stops, and food along the way. It made the whole day feel smooth, relaxed, and enjoyable. What truly set this tour apart was Marty himself. His knowledge of the area, the history, and the island as a whole added so much to the drive. We learned so much and never once felt rushed. If you’re booking the Road to Hana, do yourself a favor and request Marty.
This is a must-do experience. Our driver, Dom, did an excellent job of providing information on everything from history, to plants/trees, to sights along the way. Dom went out of his way to ensure everyone had an amazing experience. Beautiful stops with enough time to enjoy each location. Highly recommend this tour. Thank you Dom for making our day both enjoyable and unforgettable!
Full day excursion. Frequent stops and some restrooms are rustic. Beautiful views from a variety of altitudes. We had a great time.
Our driver was excellent. He guided me on my waterfall jump. Told me where to go and where I should land in the water. Super informative and told lots of great stories. Marty was a very fun guy.
Marty was amazing and the tour was so great to do with my older kids. It is a lot of driving so young kids might not love it but the waterfalls were so much fun. And we all loved how Marty was so interactive and personable with the group. The black sand beach was great and watching the surfers and seeing the turtles was amazing!! 10 out of 10 tour
Excellent knowledgeable, professional guide beautiful sites plenty of stops and photo ops! Small group size a bonus! Very informative!
"It was an amazing experience! Our guide, Roger, was incredibly warm and informative throughout the tour. He followed the itinerary perfectly but with enough flexibility to keep it from feeling rigid. Without a doubt, this is a tour every traveler to Maui should book! The highlights: Walking on volcanic sand beaches, swimming in a waterfall, and exploring the North Coast with a true local expert. Pro tip: If you buy banana bread, make sure to get an extra one because you’ll devour the first one instantly! Mahalo!"
Marty was super knowledgeable, kept us engaged (even our young adult kids), drove very safely, and guided my son’s cliff jump.
Fantastic experience. Very convenient. Comfy van. Great guide/driver/ narrator in Mr. Quinn. He was super. So full of info , lot of details abt Hawaii and the trip. All the special places to check out. Very courteous. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Saves lot of effort qnd stress from self driving.
We had a fantastic Road to Hana experience with Marty. From start to finish, the day was smooth, well-organized, and enjoyable. He was incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the journey. The pace was perfect and he took us to beautiful spots while sharing great local insights along the way. It felt like a personalized, relaxed experience rather than a typical tour. We truly had a wonderful day and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Maui.
Quinn was an excellent tour guide. He also is very conscience on helping those of us who gets carsick with preventative maintenance. He was very concerned on how I was doing. That was awesome. He’s a very funny and knowledgeable tour guide and is driving is is very careful. He does know the roads.
We had the best time on our guided tour with Roger! He was so knowledgeable and professional. Wonderful driving and we felt safe the whole time. Highly recommend!
