Itinerary
Relax and let us pamper you as a VIP guest to show you the beauty on a road trip to magical Hana. On this exclusive full-day adventure designed for just 14 guests, you'll enjoy the best banana bread you can get in Maui, refresh with a waterfall swim, stroll unique sand beaches and swim at the most famous black sand beach at the Wainapanapa State Park. During our expedition aboard a luxurious air-conditioned van, your driver will select a perfect lunch spot with a local Speciality. We serve a full lunch plate with Hawaiian juices and locally grown fruit. If time allows, we will stop at fruit stands with fresh fruits and vegetables for you to buy.
Just four miles into your drive to Hāna from Kahului, you'll discover the historic town of Pāʻia on Maui's north coast. Divided into Lower Pāʻia and Pāʻia, this hospitable community was once a booming plantation town during the heyday of Maui's sugar cane industry. Today Pāʻia is a town of colorful, rustic storefronts filled with local art galleries, one-of-a-kind shopping boutiques and restaurants.
A perfect spot for a light breakfast when spotting local surfers and wild turtles and taking pictures of the famous Northshore coastline. Lavatories are available.
is the first easily accessible string of waterfalls and pools on the Road to Hana
is a small waterfall and pool along Maui's popular Road to Hana. Thanks to the unsigned trail and short hike over an often muddy path, the pool receives far less visitor traffic than the well-signed falls along the route.
The Ke’anae Peninsula was created from an immense lava flow originating from Haleakala Crater. Centuries ago Hawaiians brought soil down, by hand, from the mountains to create the Keanae Peninsula. Their amazing display of physical labor is a testament to how revered this land is in Hawaiian culture. It is no wonder so much history is found here!
In 1983, Aunty Sandy Hueu began to bake her famous banana bread in Keʻanae, Maui. In 2003, her daughter Tammy joined the business to create an authentic family owned and operated food stand on the Keʻanae peninsula. Since then, Aunty Sandy's has become a must stop destination for hot, fresh baked banana bread.
very photogenic spot to get photographed doing something life threatening
The beautiful view from this lookout point really gives you a sense of what ancient Hawaii must have looked and felt like. It’s truly as though you received a glimpse back in time at untouched Maui.
Upper Waikani Falls is often referred to as Three Bears, thanks to the three separate but parallel falls of differing lengths—with the third and smallest being the “baby bear” falls on the right.
Wailua Falls is so noticeable in fact, that it may be the most photographed waterfalls on Maui.
are formed when massive flows cool on the surface forming an insulating conduit for the lava flowing underneath. During the creation of Maui’s volcanic landscape these served like the veins of the volcano, channeling lava for many miles underground before being deposited as new landmass (in this case, into the ocean.) After a volcano has been dormant for some time, these tubes usually begin to cave in and disappear under the forces of nature. Since much of the surface of Maui formed long ago, we have few lava tubes of significant size remaining; Ka’eleku Cave is the largest known accessible lava tube on Maui.
located within Hana Bay is Hana Beach Park, which has a long black-sand beach and is the safest swimming beach along the East Maui coast. The bay is protected by a coral reef and harbored from big swells by its curved shape.
Waianapanapa is Maui’s famous Black Sand Beach. Cobalt blue Ocean surrounded by black sand and black lava rocks from a recent flow only 10,000 years ago. Go for a walk along the edge of the bay and check out the blue water or just sit under a nice shade tree. This location is a great place to spend an hour relaxing, taking in one of the islands most beautiful locales. Simply stated, Wai’anapanapa State Park is among the very best of the Road to Hana sites. It offers outstanding nearly 360-degree sweeping panoramic views. On land, the hills and valleys of green jungle give way to rugged and dramatic black basalt lava coastline. Out to sea, the deep blue ocean and white cresting waves are dramatically blasted into spray and mist as they pound against the jagged cliffs.
Pua'a Ka'a Falls (rolling pig) resides in the Pua’a Ka’a State Wayside Park, which made it one of the rare waterfalls on the Hana Highway. Swim at your own discretion and risk in the freshwater pools. Lavatories are available.
Wailua Valley is an ahupuaʼa that sits just after the Keanae peninsula on the road to Hana. The area, though small, is rich in Hawaiian culture. It is here that an abundance of rare culturally significant fish and plant life can still be found. The area holds many ancient taro, or kalo, patches; a number of which are still in operation. In Hawaiian legend, taro is literally the older brother of all Hawaiians. And, so “Mahiʼaiʼana”, or cultivation of the land, is an ingrained principle that has endured for the people of Wailuanui.
The beautiful view from this lookout point really gives you a sense of what ancient Hawaii must have looked and felt like. It’s truly as though you received a glimpse back in time at untouched Maui.
Right beyond Kaumahina State Wayside Park you'll find a pullout that gives a good view of Honomanu Bay.
Beautiful views of the Keanae Peninsula, lavatories are available.
The unique rainbow tree reveals bright shades of green, blue, purple, orange and maroon, as patches of its bark shed throughout the year. Hawaii hosts many of these beautiful shrubs that can grow to an over-elming height of 200 feet! Many consider the rainbow eucalyptus the most beautiful tree on earth.

Our Road to Hana tour with Quinn was amazing! He was incredibly knowledgeable, funny and genuinely passionate about Maui. We saw so many beautiful places, learned a lot about the island and had such a great time along the way. Quinn was an excellent guide and made the whole day truly special. We would absolutely recommend him!
Roger was wonderful!!!! He was very informative and we had a great time.
Quinn was our travel guide. He was a book of knowledge. And the way he told stories was like an auto book.
Roger was an amazing tour guide. He shared so much history and knowledge about each stop or place we drove by. He had us ahead of other tours so that we were not stuck with so many other tours. He even was able to add in an additional stop for us which had amazing views. He took the time to make sure we had an amazing experience. Highly recommend!
Roger, our driver was simply fantastic! Great guy with lots of great information. Took great care of his guests. Highly recommend this tour to all my friends!
This tour was such a good experience! It’s a long day, but totally worth it to see all the sights like the peninsula and black sand beach and all the waterfalls along the road to Hana! It was a relief not having to do any of the driving. We had Quinn as our guide, and he was very friendly right from the beginning. He greeted everyone with aloha and gave us some options regarding what we wanted to learn about as the tour progressed. He was very knowledgeable about Hawaiian history and culture, and also knew a lot about the native flora. He also made sure to offer water and bathroom breaks whenever we had a stop, which was super nice. Overall, I had an enjoyable experience on this tour and I would book again!
Marty was the absolute best guide who made us all feel like family! He treated us with respect and amazing info about the island! He was funny and personable and truly made this amazing experience even better! What a perfect way to spend our anniversary!!
Marty, our tour guide did everything humanly possible to provide us a five star tour. The stops we made, the information he gave, his care about us as fellow travellers had our van full of strangers feeling like family. Safe driver, solicitous of needs. Beautiful tour PACKED with waterfalls, turtles, black sand, lush scenery, you name it. WELL WORTH a day of your vacation!! Thank you!!
Marty was an incredible tour guide! Picking us up bright and early in the morning. He was so welcoming and friendly right off the bat. Greeting both my husband and I by name. The van was very comfortable and well air conditioned the whole time (the listing was spot on). From the time we started the tour Marty was giving us his ‘fun facts’ the entire time speaking about the culture of Hawaii, the history of all the plants, fruits, people, food, drink, etc. you name it and Marty probably knows it!!! Not only was Marty an amazing tour guide he could start a side hustle as an IPhone photographer as well, taking the coolest photos of us! Throughout the drive we got so many cool photo opportunities and spending ample amounts of time at the stops along the way, between the famous banana bread from Sandy’s, fresh fruit on the side of the road, and all the waterfalls in-between, this tour has everything you need to have a great day!
Very informative trip as well as comprehensive. We could not had asked for more. We were able to see the area and also taste a variety of of fruits from the area. We highly recommend this trip.
Roger was a great guide. Enjoyed the day and all the wonderful scenery. Turtles, waterfalls, Black sand beach, tropical rainforest foliage was beautiful.
The drive to Hana was beautiful and the driver Roger was very informative. We totally enjoyed our experience.
The Road to Hana was absolutely unforgettable! Our guide, Quin was knowledgeable, friendly, and made every stop along the way feel special. From breathtaking waterfalls and lush rainforests to the scenic coastal views, every moment was picture-perfect. The pacing was just right — we had plenty of time to explore, take photos, and soak in the beauty of Maui’s natural wonders.
Marty was professional, courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. We were on time and did everything as promised. I would highly recommend this tour. I’m glad I decided on doing a tour rather than doing this trip myself. I would have missed a lot of scenic spots and sights. The tour gave me peace of mind and a break from driving so that I could be a passenger and enjoy the views.
We went on the Luxury Road to Hana Waterfalls, black sand beach & lunch. The tour started at 5:55am and went until about 3pm or so. We really enjoyed it! Marty, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. We made several stops along the way, including the beach with black sand…wild. The waterfalls were just like the pictures/movies/TV shows you’ve seen. Just beautiful. And we were able to jump off the 25 ft waterfall into very cold water—but so worth it! Very fun! The views to/from were amazing. Marty made the whole trip enjoyable by asking questions to the whole group so we were able to get to know the other couples/families that were in our van/tour. It made the day that much more fun. All and all, highly recommend this tour as you will get a lot of great details about Hawaii, get to see some of the coolest spots on the island as well as have a blast all day. Plus, you do not want to drive that road yourself. Highly recommend!
My wife and I highly enjoyed this tour. We got to see many things we were wanting to see. Our tour guide Marty was top notch in every way and made the trip extremely enjoyable and was super knowledgeable in every aspect of the island.
We had an amazing Road to Hana tour with our driver, Roger! He made the entire trip so enjoyable with his incredible knowledge of the island, its history, and hidden gems along the way. Roger took us to several beautiful spots to sightsee, swim, and relax — each stop was perfectly timed and never felt rushed. A highlight was definitely the delicious banana bread from Auntie Sandi’s! The day was filled with breathtaking views and great memories. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or experience. Highly recommend this tour and especially Roger!
Quinn was amazing. He was very knowledgeable. We were learning without even noticing. Quinn was friendly, polite and very funny. I like the way he interacted with our group as would definitely recommend this tour and Quinn to other friends and family
Roger was amazing!! He made the trip very comfortable and was a great source of culture and history! We learned so much and would definitely book with him to go again!
This was absolutely amazing experience. I enjoyed every moment of it. Our driver was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to several amazing spots and we were able to take the most beautiful pictures. He also became a photographer and took great pictures of us. He offered water, juices, fruit, snacks, and sandwiches. Every stop he made had a bathroom. I definitely recommend it.
Marty was absolutely incredible. Picked us up right on time. Extremely knowledgeable and made frequent and great stops.
Our driver Quinn was beyond exceptional !!! He was kind and very informative. He was patient while driving the road to Hana. He shared Hawaiian / Maui history that was so useful . I super recommend him as a tour guide to anyone reading and wanting to book this trip . Quinn is the man 🤙🏾 Mahalo to stardust company
We ended up getting placed with a different tour company due to a sick driver. We were so happy we got booted! Lol. Shelly was an incredible guide and shared so much history with us as a 7th generation Hawaiian. We enjoyed beautiful waterfalls, a black sand beach, shopping, incredible food and beautiful company. Wonderful experience.
An amazing tour, made much better by Marty (our tour guide). Marty was very knowledgeable and provided a depth of information about the island history and vegetation. Beautiful views everywhere, too many to photograph all. Also, beware the Hana road curves, I am not normally car-sick, but I was thankful Marty was prepared for me with a barf bag, and frequent stops. Even with that, I had a great time!
Marty was a great tour guide! He was extremely knowledgeable, and quite entertaining. He made the long ride very enjoyable and memorable. Would definitely recommend!
The tour was amazing. We had a great group of people. But the best part was the tour guide Marty. He was informative and kept everyone involved.
Roger was our driver and he was hilarious. He made the tour very special. His knowledge of the history of the island was vast and we learned way more on this tour than any other.
Our experience was excellent! Our tour guide Roger did an awesome job explaining every question we had. The view points we visited was beautiful! I recommend it 100%.
Excellent driver and tour guide. Comfortable minibus. Saw about a dozen green sea turtles, great waves and views, a couple of life birds and had very tasty banana bread. Great experience, well done.
Our driver, Roger, was very personable and gave great commentary throughout the long journey. The van was cool and comfortable (we had a smaller group than normal so lots of extra space). So many great spots, especially the black sand beach and waterfalls, with plenty of time allowed to swim and explore. The pickup spot was a bit of a walk from the cruise port (more like 15 minutes), but not difficult to find. This trip was well worth it, especially considering the cost was less than half of the similar cruise-sponsored version.
The driver Quinn was informative additionally gave lots of history and stories of the island. He was very concerned over customers, possibly getting Motion sickness and always asked if everyone was OK.
We went down the Road to Hana in Maui and had a spectacular time! Trip was easy to book and the Operater was very accommodating. Highly recommend!
5/5 awesome tour! We stopped at so many places, I’m so glad that I booked this tour and left the driving to them. Roger was an excellent guide and was so friendly and knowledgeable. I would book with them again, absolutely an amazing experience!
I wish I could say how amazing and enjoyable that that trip was. But I can’t because I’ve got a phone call from the Famous Road to Hana Mercedes van and told me that the day I booked had no other group or people to take on a journey. The representative told me I can change the date or cancel if I don’t want take a chance and wait until that and see anyone else book a tour. Well I couldn’t take that chance as well I had had other plans for deferent dates, tee time for playing golf, reservations for restaurants that have limited open tables, etc. There weren’t any available spots to schedule with others because the date was too close the tour day. So unfortunately, I bet get to experience the famous Road to Hana. All thanks to Famous Road to Hana Mercedes van. So, anyone who are looking for this tour, should aware about a possibility of this situation.
Great experience with Eric! Eric was so knowledgeable about the island and its history while being so attentive to guests and their needs. Eric even showed us how to climb up the side of a waterfall to jump into the pool and was always offering to take pictures!
Hello. According to Quinn Schroeder, the driver, the alternator and battery light illuminated the dash before the tour began and notified management, Due to proper precautions not being taken, the van we were in not only broke down, the air conditioning stopped working multiple times throughout the tour. The well being of the guests was not considered knowing that the route that was being taken would not allow for cell service or any type of assistance in the ten hour trek alongside a mountain. We were without AC for so long the 80 year old man on the bus was sweating profusely. The title of the tour states “luxury tour to Road to Hana” The vehicle we were in was very outdated and should have been replaced at the start of the tour to ensure the safety of all Guests on board. Submitting a refund in full was denied by Mark Weiner, the manager. > > Let me add that once broken down, we were taken dangerously from One van to the other in the middle of the road with barely any room to walk on a very hazardous busy roadway. He then threatened to charge us for eating and drinking on the van and not picking up after ourselves! Im sorry what were we supposed to do while broken down and having a heat stroke? Was I supposed to worry about pick up a bag of chips and water bottle while exiting the van into a dangerous roadway with my three children? Unacceptable. Do any other tour besides them, it is about dollar signs only and not our safety. They neglected to put all 14 guests into a safe vehicle for a 10 hour trek alongside a mountain that would not allow for cell service. Not worth it, you can do this tour without them. Very easy and you won't be on a time crunch. Let me add that they do not make many stops and when they do, it is for a few minutes. There lunches provided were gas station sandwiches only. >
Owen was an awesome tour guide! Most memorable was going in the lava tube at black sands beach. Had never done that and i once lived on Oahu Island for 3 1/2 years. I thought that stop was the best! Too bad they only allow tours an hour.
We loved the black sand beach and aunty's Sandy's banana bread. But our guide, Dom was amazing with his history and story telling. He was very knowledgeable about all things Maui. We had just enough time at each spot.
Guide Quinn was really good, He made sure everyone is enjoying through out the journey. I would recommend to any one who is looking to take a relaxing guided tour
Quinn was a great driver and a great storyteller!! Gave a lot of interesting information about Hawaiian culture, history, language and landscape along the way! Long drive, but beautiful scenery and a wonderful tour.
The trip was awesome. Eric our guide was very knowledgeable & made the trip very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour.
1) Eric - was excellent. He is very well versed, as a guide, a driver, and extremely knowledgeable about the area and its history. 2) The Mercedes van - very comfortable with big windows to see the views. Good sandwiches too. 3) The Road to Hana - there were plenty of stops to rest(room), get snacks/souvenirs, and see the sites. I highly recommend this driver, the company itself, and the experience itself.
I really enjoyed the Road to Hana trip. Quinn was fantastic! Very knowledgeable, but even more important, he was entertaining. A must-see if you visit Maui.
My husband and I loved, loved this tour with Eric, our tour guide for several reasons. He was an excellent driver, was very polite to other drivers by letting them pass instead of being stuck behind a tour bus, went slow or stopped when there was a picture worthy site, was so nice to everyone, even when they were late to the bus. Eric talked about the history of so many things - people, the island of Maui, places, plants and trees and how they got here. I could go on and on but will conclude with saying I recommend Eric to everyone wanting a tour on Maui. He’s the best! *Thank you, Eric.*
Eric was awesome. He was on time, professional and very knowledgable. The trip was organized efficiently but with enough time at all stops. Highly recommend doing the road to Hana this way. And especially with Eric!
We took the Road to Hana excursion and it was a great experience. Eric, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable of the historical and cultural aspects of Maui. In addition, he was very entertaining. We highly recommend this tour as it's one of the best tours we have ever taken. Mahalo!
Quinn took us on a wonderful trip. He was careful, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the flora, fauna, culture and history. A great story teller.
Our driver Quinn was very knowledgeable and very friendly. Had a great time and would recommend to anyone
The Road to Hana tour was incredible! Our guide, Quinn, was the absolute best! His knowledge of the Hawaiian culture is second to none. He made sure our experience was the best! 5 ⭐️ for sure!
