The tour was awesome, it was well planned and the guide was local to the area and very knowledgeable about the history, culture and the natural environment. Only complaint was the food served.

Wonderful tour! So glad we went with a guide versus driving ourselves. Our guide Corey knew all the best spots to see countless waterfalls. The box lunch was not too bad and there is an endless supply of water available.
We had an incredible time on our Road to Hana tour. Our guide and driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. He is the best!
Excellent day x Driver Junior was fun and knowledgeable. Lunch was lovely. Lots of photo opportunity stops and waterfall swim and black sand beach swim x
It was a nice way to see the coast line to Hana. It was a small group tour and we were very well cared for, with lunch included.
Best way to see the other side of the island!!! So glad my husband didn’t have to drive that road and was able to relax and enjoy the scenery. Each stop we made was spectacular. Sea turtles, waterfalls, black sand beaches (we went swimming) and more! It’s a long day but well worth it. Our guide Junior was great, very knowledgeable, funny, helpful and wants you to have a good time.
The tour was good and we saw a lot of what we wanted to see. Waterfalls, lava rock and black sand beach, turtles, etc! We got to pull off and try some Huli Huli chicken which was a highlight! The driver though definitely had an agenda in what he talked about for 7 hours. You could tell he is bitter about Hawaii becoming a state and how the history of all that went down. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but I don’t think using a tour is the way to do it.
Great experience! Our guide Geog was very knowledgeable of the history the island and its people
My wife and I went on this Full day tour 2 days ago. I found the Vehicle to be very uncomfortable. I'm 6'-1" and dont fit in the seats, my knee was jammed into the seat in front of me the whole time. The guide arrived about 20 mins late for pick up also. The trip was suppose to conclude at 3:30. We arrived at our hotel after 5:30 which made the uncomfortable seat almost unbearable. The Guide did not seem to have a lot of knowledge to share and the photo ops were few and far between. The lunch that was provided was very substandard. When asked about lunch one of the guest said "the cookie was good" meaning it was the only thing that was good. I found it to be extremely dry. I would not recommend this tour. It was an expensive Uber to the black sand beach, which was the only high light of the tour.
We had a lovely time on this tour! Our tour guide Cory was kind, funny, and knowledgeable. We learned so much about Hawaiian history while seeing such beautiful views. Highly recommend doing a tour of the road to Hana, rather than driving it yourself - it really allows you to soak up every moment stress-free. Thank you so much Cory!
Tour guide made the whole trip worth the money! Very knowledgeable and a local. You can seat back and enjoy the ride.
Very knowledgeable guide. Lots of places to see.
Awesome tour of some of the most beautiful areas of Maui. Our guide Emma was truly outstanding. She had vast knowledge of the rain forest and local Hawaiian history that made the trip very interesting.
The tour is very good. Beautiful stopping places..guide well informed. Relaxing amd comfortable. But it was a long tour of 12 hours plus. Be prepared with extra water and snacks, towels and water shoes for swim options.
It was awesome. For the first time I get to relax while someone else drives and I get to enjoy the sceneries.
I had such an amazing experience with Hana and Beyond’s Rainbow Forest Tour to Hana! It was absolutely worth the price, and everything was so well organized. Our guide, Maka, was incredible—very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. He shared so much interesting information and made the whole experience fun and memorable. Definitely one of the highlights of my Maui trip! 🌺
We had a wonderful time with Maka. He picked us up from the port without any issues. The tour brought us to a coffee shop to start where you can get drinks and breakfast. Then we hit the road. We stopped to see the sea turtles on the beach, the beautiful rainbow eucalyptus trees, waterfalls where we could swim/jump, then to the black sand beach with more swimming. Maka was great at detailing the views and explaining everything we could see and all different stories about the trip. You can take the tour with anyone, but I’ll say Maka was the highlight. He learned all 11 of our names, spoke with us like a friend, and genuinely made the experience enjoyable. Highly recommend. I will add that it’s a long trip. We were picked up at 8:30 and made it back to the ship at 5:45
Great excursion with a very informative and pleasant guide.
Cousin Junior (Raphael) performed a very fun tour. We loved the seas turtles the most. Got a great video of some surfacing and beaching.
Overall I would give this tour a 4.8 stars. Van is comfortable and seats up to 24 people. There were 19 on my tour. Our tour guide Junior friendly and was a good driver. We stopped at for breakfast at Maui Made Cafe, Ho'okipa Beach, photo op with rainbow eucalyptus trees, Puaʻa Kaʻa State Park, Hana Bay Beach Park, Halfway to Hana, and Hana town. Be aware that the tour may not stop at Waiʻanapanapa state park due to construction there severely limiting the amount of visitors allowed. The tour didstop at Hana Bay Beach Park which has black sand. I would recommend bringing extra snacks - the lunch is quite small and it is a very long day. I was on the tour for 12 hours. Also remember your bug spray and portable charger! Be wary that the time you return to your pickup area can vary due to road conditions/traffic. The tour guide does their best to make sure you're back in time, especially if you're on a cruise. Hotel drop offs are later priority. Website estimates you will be dropped off back to hotels around 5:30, but the particular tour I was on didn't have me back at my hotel until closer to 6:45, so be wary if making dinner reservations. I would say the tour is good money for the value of having someone else navigate the road to Hana for you... I just found the lunch small.
Very disappointed we were told small group tour no more than 12 and small vehicle/van, we ended up with 18 plus passenger bus/van and definitely more than 12 people we were unable to pull over at most spots because there was no room to park. It was a very long day unfortunately it was our last day in Hawaii. I definitely would not recommend the tour. It was mostly done from the window of the vehicle .
My daughter, granddaughter and I took the Hana tour with Hana and Beyond . It was very expensive and did not do the things listed. The driver never pointed out the rainbow eucalyptus that the road is famous for. I happened to see a couple as we went by. We only stopped in Hana to mail a postcard. No shopping “ to help the local economy” as mentioned on the website . No mention of Charles Lindbergh’s grave site. We whizzed pass the Hasagawa General store without a mention. We stopped at a beach for lunch that had a huge stand selling Hulli hulli chicken where other vans were stopped. We parked a distance away and were given dry turkey wraps. When asked about a bathroom our guide told us there was none. We finally found a portable potty there. Our guide talked continuously about Hawaiian history going back to the tectonic plates but nothing about Hana. He did promote the two books he had written. We did not stop at a fruit stand as mentioned. We did stop for banana bread but the stand had sold out the day before! Our driver guide was an excellent driver and I would not have wanted to do that drive myself. I would find another tour company. This one was expensive ($800.00) dollars for the three of us and did not do what they advertised.
Had a great experience on our Road to Hana tour. Corey was a knowledgeable and fun guide who took us to all of the best spots!
Chris was a great driver and was very knowledgeable. Definitely a great experience!
My husband and I spent a wonderful day with Junior. He was very informative, kept us laughing and learning during our adventure going to Hana. It rained but he asked us to wait and had a stop earlier than planned. When all was clear, we continued on to tour. I would recommend having him as a guide. You can tell when someone loves what they are doing. Junior... Bobbyyyy said hey.
What a delightful private trip with our family and our tour guide Devlyn. It was everything we asked for, fun for the entire family. Devlyn told us all about her family and showed us the town of Hana, which was so interesting. We couldn’t say enough about Walter and his amazing company!
We decided to book the tour rather than drive ourselves and it was the best decision. Junior was amazing (and funny!). He shared so much history and great stories along the way. The Rainbow Eucalyptus trees and swimming at Black Sand Beach were bucket list items for me and they did not disappoint! Thank you for an amazing experience.
We took a tour to the Road to Hana using Hana and Beyond. This tour did not include hiking (some tours do). This company/tour goes all the way to Hana. It is a very long day. There are some that only go half way so you get a taste of it without using up a whole day. Our driver was nice and pleasant and lived in the area so she shared lots of history and commentary during the drive. We were picked up at our hotel on time. We then had to stop at a coffee shop to meet a few others joining the tour (they were brought via another shuttle bus from a cruise ship). Like all tours, we enjoyed some stops more than others. Some stops are just the right amount and others may be too long or too short. The only way to time things just right is if you drive it yourself. We did not have a car, so wanted to use a tour company. They take care of the driving, so you don’t have to worry about traffic and parking and entrance fee reservations. Lunch was included (sandwiches and chips) – which we could eat at the park where the black sand beach was located. We enjoyed the beach a lot and took some great pictures. There was another swimming stop on the list, but the tour guide did not recommend swimming at that time. Another favorite stop was at Halfway to Hana where we could purchase banana bread other items. There are a lot of waterfalls on this drive and after a while they look the same. One disappointment was we could not stop at a location to see turtles as tour buses were blocked at the time - due to Turtle nesting season I believe. Regular cars were allowed to be there though. There are many twists and turns, so I do recommend taking motion sickness medicine. Overall, I would recommend this tour company, but I would look at the stop list for all tour companies very closely if you chose not to drive it as you want to make sure you see your top interests. Note that the list of stops could vary slightly due to what is online so call to check. Bring rain poncho, bathing suit, towels, motion sickness medicine, camera, portable charger, money for tipping and other purchases.
Amazing experience and fabulous tour guide.
The trip was amazing. Relaxing, fun and informative. Junior did an amazing job taking care of everything and showing us a great time.
Wow!! This was an absolutely amazing beautiful journey, we highly recommend! We absolutely loved outer tour guide, so knowledgeable and had such a calm demeanor keeping us all at ease the entire trip. Do yourself a favor and book this!
Just completed our tour- our original driver/guide called out sick which turned out to be perfect for us because we got paired with Davalynn. Her personality and genuine interest in the culture and lives of her clients made the experience much less awkward and friendly. We also loved the fact that she is from Hana and because of that was able to share so much information along the way that I don’t think we would have gotten otherwise. She kept us al engaged along the way and her familiarity with the road put us completely at ease. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide; would highly recommend. Apart from having an amazing tour guide, the views and stops along the way were amazing! This was a perfect way to end our first trip to Hawaii…will be planning to come back to Maui.
If you’re reading this: BOOK THIS TOUR (and request Kim)-🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. I can’t say enough good things. As a solo traveler, I’m always nervous about group tours and feeling singled out. But no! Kim was funny, knowledgeable, professional and she made sure we used our time the best. Everyone was celebrating different milestones/gradutions and you could tell that she listened and cared. I was her copilot for the day and when I tell you that we had a ball, I mean it!! Even got a little karaoke going at the end with Kim’s air guitar solos. By the end, the whole van was a family! Kim was also very intentional about giving ample “warning time” for good photos. She knows that route like the back of her hand and it showed. We rearranged the day to avoid some crowds and still got to see everything promised! Come prepared for a full day of everything you acn imagine. Incredible sights, swimming opportunities, BANANA BREAD! A cacao to chocolate experience. I mean, this tour (and Kim) were truly the highlight of my trip. They call before to confirm your pickup spot and lunch choice, so you don’t have to uber or pack that. Definitely eat breakfast before the excursion or grab something at the coffee ahop in the morning. And pack for a full 9-10 hours. -Portable charger -Towel -Swimsuit/light cover-up -Refillable water bottle (I brought 2 frozen gatorades) -Change of dry clothes -sunglasses -poncho/umbrella -cash -lots of ENERGY!
What an absolute gem of a tour! Kim was a fantastic tour guide and expert Hana Trail navigator. She blessed us with innumerable facts, stops and treats along the way. We experienced Turtles, Cows, Chickens, Wind Surfers, a bazillion trees and fauna, waterfalls so cold it took our breath away when we jumped in. Fresh banana bread, disgusting fresh cocoa pod that she shared with us (but you gotta try it at least once right?!) and the provided sandwiches are actually legit and fantastic. Not those prison sandwiches you get on most tours like this. We cannot recommend this tour enough to anyone looking for a full day of exploration that Includes lava field beaches, black sand beaches that you will find in your naughty bits 2 days later but so worth it. Go to Hana and you will be glad you did. 5 stars.
Emma was our tour guide and driver. We thoroughly enjoyed her stories and rich history shared through each stop. She placed our safety at the top priority and is an excellent driver and hostess. Extremely knowledgeable and excellent talented guide who knows Hana since she’s a native. Thank you for such a great time on Hana and Beyond!
Our driver Carlos was great, he made the trip even better. He taught us a lot about the Hawaiian culture. We saw so many great places today!
This was a lovely tour, but unfortunetly we had gerog and he went on alot about the history of hawaii and at times provuded incorrect information. He definately liked to hear his own voice.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour with Corey as a guide. He has so much knowledge of the region and enthusiasm! The Hana Hwy is extremely challenging with very narrow roads. It was comforting knowing we had such an experienced guide. The views are spectacular and I’m so glad we did the tour. Recommendations: you will definitely want water shoes to experience a couple stops. Hand sanitizer is also highly recommended. Also, don’t make any plans afterwards…it was a fully packed day!! Thanks for a fantastic experience!!
I really enjoyed the activities but I would say our host Maka made it 10x better with his humor and knowledge of everything it was a long day but it was worth it to really see some beautiful scenery and the time we spent at each point was long enough I have no complaints and want to give a shout out to our tour guide Maka
The road to Hana is the most lush , jungled exquisite road on entire island . Kim , our tour operator was amazing . Her knowledge and wealth of information about Maui's culture , history and Hana fauna . She was so friendly and answered everyone’s questions . It truly was a full day of wonder , meaningful knowledge and a lot of fun !!!!
So many amazing sights along the way! Turtles, waterfalls, rainbow eucalyptus trees, beautiful coastal views, swimming at the Black Sand Beach were just a few. Junior kept us entertained with stories and knowledge of the history of the area and would slow down to point out special sights and allow time for photos. I would definitely recommend doing a tour rather than driving it yourself because you will miss so many amazing sights because the road is so curvy you would have to keep your eyes on the road at all times and miss seeing so much.
Hana and Beyond was a great experience. So many great places to stop along the route. Emma was great and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend.
We had an amazing journey to Hāna it was absolutely breathtaking and our guide Junior was so knowledgeable and so much fun at the same time !! I would highly recommend Hāna and Beyond
Georg was very knowledgeable and friendly. Lunch was great. It did rain but my goodness it was gorgeous! We almost didn’t do the tour but on our last day, we’re so glad we did! Bring water shoes and toilet paper just in case!
Great trip! Intense road. Guide was very informative with local knowledge. Lots of great stops.
We had a wonderful experience, enjoying all the sites on the way to Hana! Turtles, waterfalls, swimming at a black sand beach and enjoying the best ever banana bread hot out of the oven! The shuttle was super comfortable, and Jr was a fantastic guide, sharing tons of information while being friendly and entertaining all the way through!
The tour, Road to Hana and Beyond, was excellent. Even though the weather was somewhat rainy throughout the day, the weather made the experience even better. We saw so many beautiful waterfalls. Our driver/tour guide, Emma, was fantastic. She told us so much about the history of the area and gave us a very personal experience. It was a great day, one that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
Got to spend over an hour at Wai’anapanapa park which was the best part! Great tour guide/driver Maka, very organized, funny and told us lots of Hawaiian history/facts. Best day in Maui!
Excellent. Much more enjoyable to sit back and let someone else drive while you enjoy the view. Charlie was an excellent guide. Kept us laughing and shared a lot of knowledge as well. Views were amazing - all the stops worthwhile and well timed. Thank you!
I had an amazing time on my trip!! Charlie was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable, helpful, and great sense of humor!! I would advise doing the tour for sure!! You get to see so many beautiful places!!!
