Private Waikiki Sunset Boat Tour: 6 Passengers Max

Ninety minutes, private charter, just the two of us, and the privacy is the whole point. No schedule but ours and no crowd on the rail. The thing that made it was the captain. Our booked window would have had us turning back right as the sun went down, and rather than run the clock he stayed out later so we actually got the sunset instead of watching it over our shoulder on the way in. Nobody asked him to do that. It leaves from the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor by the Hawaii Yacht Club rather than a commercial pier, which is a calmer start to the evening. We stayed in Waikiki and simply walked over, which is worth knowing, because parking is not included and if you are staying nearby you do not need it. Do bring your own drinks and snacks, as that is not included either. Book the Friday slot if you can. When we came in we walked a few minutes to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and caught the free fireworks at 7:45, which they do every Friday. A sunset on the water followed by fireworks from the sand, and the second half costs nothing. We loved it and would recommend it without hesitation.

Captain Phil was great! The cruise was smooth, the island vibe music was nice, and the sunset views were amazing. You can bring your own food and cocktails. We gifted this awesome sunset cruise to our newly married friends, they loved it. We’ll definitely do this again. Mahalo Captain Phil! 🤙

We had a great time on our private Turtle Canyon snorkel tour. The crew was kind, patient, and made the experience really enjoyable for our family. The only downside was that we paid for two hours, but the tour lasted closer to one. Our youngest didn’t want to get in the water, which may have played a part, but we still would’ve appreciated getting the full two hours. I’d still recommend booking, just be sure to double-check your time.

Captain Phil and Holly were hands down the BEST! Our family of six enjoyed an intimate sunset cruise watching the fish and looking for turtles! Their knowledge of the island was just icing on the cake! Don’t fall for the tourist trap of overcrowded boats, support the locals on this one of a kind sunset cruise!!

It was a laid back trip out of the harbor. Checked out fish and watched the rainbow over the city. The sunset was gorgeous. Phillip is a good guy and was a great captain.

How can you beat a personal tour!! It was so much more than I expected! So fun, the highlight of the trip! We were able to stop and see things that we liked, go see things we were interested in. The best!

Our sunset boat ride was absolutely magical — the perfect mix of romance and pure relaxation. From the moment we stepped on board, our guide made us feel completely at ease. Phil had such a fun, easygoing personality that added so much to the experience. The scenery was breathtaking and Phil timed everything perfectly so we could watch the sun dip below the horizon in the most picturesque spot. He even offered to take photos for us (and they turned out amazing). What made it even more special was the thoughtful little touches — a great playlist, and stories about the local area that made us appreciate it even more. It felt like a private escape designed just for us. If you’re looking for a truly romantic and memorable experience, this boat ride is a must. Five stars isn’t enough!

We had a wonderful time! We booked this sunset boat tour for after our elopement and it was perfect. Phillip helped us get great pictures, was very friendly and played great music. He also made some recommendations for hikes we appreciated. He gave us the option to play our own music too. And our sunset was perfect! Can’t recommend enough :)

Captain Phillip was outstanding! He put together a customized sunset tour for myself and four other guests on very short notice, and it turned out to be unforgettable. We enjoyed a fantastic view of the Hilton fireworks and even got to do some snorkeling. He operated his vessel with skill and a clear focus on safety, which gave us peace of mind the entire trip. Captain Phillip struck the perfect balance—friendly and engaging when we chatted, but also respectful of our private moments. Incredible experience and captain! Phillip made sure we had an excellent time during our 3 hour tour. The weather was perfect and the water was gorgeous. It was great for our family of 5. We got to view diamond head, fish, the sunset and the fireworks. We got to do a little bit of snorkeling too! It was amazing and I definitely will be booking with him again!

I love everything about Hawaii, but the main reason I love it is because of the unique experiences it has to offer. Specifically their ocean and wildlife. Hawaii apex charters gave me the best chance at seeing the true beauty of Hawaii, the water. The owner and tour guides were the nicest people I have met. I still keep in touch with them because they have turned into friends! Philip and his crew are the best! We spent a lovely morning swimming with the turtles and it is definitely a must do activity if you’re visiting the island! The smaller boat and crew makes it a more intimate and unique experience compared to other over crowded tours! Highly recommend!
