Nick was our driver and he was the best!!! He messaged us to keep us up today and the plan with the ever changing weather here in Maui!! He was pleasant very knowledgeable very flexible and an amazing driver!! We had a great day. And we were very Thankful to have hired a driver!!

We arrived to Hawaii by cruise ship. The company was in contact several times prior to our arrival to ensure we felt comfortable with all instructions and to confirm our times in port! Felt extremely comfortable with our driver and felt he genuinely cared that we enjoyed our day and that all our expectations were met

Beautiful scenery. Twisty windy road that I would not want to drive on my own. Our driver Nick was friendly and knowledgeable.

Nick was very knowledgeable, personable, very aloha. Felt safe with him driving those difficult roads. From swimming in a waterfall, to exploring a lava tube, to seeing green sea turtles, Nick took us to places other tour companies were not going. By the end of our trip, he became part of our crew and a friend.

Travis was amazing! He was able to cater the trip to our own interests and schedule. He’s a very skilled driver and had a lot of knowledge about the history and culture of Maui. We can’t wait to come back to do it again with him!

The tour was great and our guide was very informative. I am happy I chose the tour because if I would have driven myself I would have missed a lot and the roads were very curvy. Our guide took us to some very nice places.

Eugene was fantastic and made the day a wonderful experience for our group. He got us close to items of interest, was extremely knowledgeable about the area, plants and wildlife and the history of the area. Our trip was 2 days after the storm Lala occurred and yet we were still able to see and do almost everything we wanted. The area was without power in some areas but the sites were beautiful and breathtaking. A small group experience is definitely the way to see the road to Hana!

Nick was a super friendly and very knowledgeable guide. We hit the popular spots including a spot to swim in a waterfall pool. We visited a red sand beach and a lava tube. We had a snack stop for warm banana bread, lunch at some food trucks in Hana, and a dessert stop for a Dole whip. He also knew where all the bathrooms were and we never seemed far from one when needed. He also interacted very well with our autistic son.

Highly recommend Road to Hana with Travis! Great day sightseeing and learning the history of Maui. Travis is very knowledgeable of the different plants/trees, animals, and Hawaiian culture.

This was an amazing experience for our entire family and I highly recommend it!!! Travis was the best guide, and the coolest part was how the day was adapted to our family as Travis got to know us. The communication before and during was everything you would hope for when you are looking for a customizable, 5 star experience. I had been to Maui before and always wondered about the Hana experience. We brought our 8, 11, 14, and 15 year olds and they all said at the end of our trip that this was their favorite day of the entire trip! We loved the balance between car time and getting out to explore. It’s an incredible way to experience the beauty of the island from amazing trees (which we loved learning really cool details about from Travis), waterfalls, caves, and beaches. They provided everything- towels for after we all jumped a waterfall, all kinds of waters and snacks. Super flexible stops if a kid needed a restroom, changed their mind about a food truck, or wanted to listen to their music playlist. We did all wear ear patches before to help with any motion sickness and didn’t have any problems. We had other family members I recommended to also book with them and we will absolutely do this again bc there are so many different places to stop and explore!

This was the most amazing experience! The owner Eugene picked us up at our hotel, and took us to the office where we met our tour guide, Travis, who was amazing. A full day private tour getting to do what we wanted how we wanted! Travis was so friendly it was like touring with a friend, he got to know what we liked and took us to the most beautiful places plus food stops that fit our preferences! The price was unbeatable for such a custom experience, highly reccomend this to anyone looking for a private tour for a good price!

I have no words really, although we did see everything on the description, it was basically a driving tour with many winding roads. Hana itself was nothing to see. Black sand beach wasn’t a beach as one might expect, it was lava rock and really no place to swim. Although tour guide was knowledgeable, we felt his driving was a bit erratic at times and he took us to places that were closed. Waterfalls were not swimable. Wasted 8 hrs in a car was the end result. It would have been much better renting a car and going on our own. If you are considering the road to Hana, rethink it. It’s in our opinion a wasted trip.

Great day with Nick on the road to Hana. Well organized trip with detailed communication on pick up and things to know before the excursion. The ride was comfortable with ample bathroom stops if needed. Nick was well knowledge about historical Maui, island customs as well as flora/ plants native to the area. We hit all the highlights along the way, stopping at waterfalls, beautiful beaches, and killer views. Midway through, we stopped for banana bread, a must diversion! Had lunch in an area full of food trucks, a great way to catch the local vibe. Doing a private tour is a great way to customize your experience!

Eugene was awesome. Showed us everything we wanted to see, gave us insight on almost every nook and cranny of the road, stopped and got wild fruit from trees for us to taste, stopped when and where we wanted, and even took us to some off the beaten path places that he visits himself that no one else was around to see (and it was a busy road where people were at most every stop). He definitely made sure to help us get the most out of our trip. He even took us around the mountain instead of backtracking from Hana, which was just as beautiful in its own way. Would highly recommend this excursion.

We had such an incredible experience with Nick as our guide. He’s incredibly knowledgable about all the plants along the road to Hana and also knew a ton about the history of the region. Our favorite stop was a secluded waterfall that other tourists didn’t know about, so we had it all to ourselves.

A choose-your-own-adventure from the very start of the day. I loved how Eugene had a plan based on his experience but also made sure to ask what we each wanted to do and made a point to get everyone in our family’s must-do’s in. It was absolutely tailored to us which was the best part about doing our private tour. Eugene is an awesome driver, we felt safe on the crazy windy roads and relaxed the whole time. There is no way we would have known where to stop along the road if we had tried to tackle it ourselves. Definitely it was essential to take the private tour. One thing I wanted to explicitly point out was how much I appreciated Eugene’s constant looking out for my young kids’ safety while walking along the road and while climbing down to the water fall, and nonjudgmental and kind attitude towards my neurodivergent child. This was the most fabulous tour I have been on. Nick took such good care of us three with a perfect route to Hana. He even swam with me in the waterfall pool along the way, just one of my highlights of the trip. He took us to so many unique spots that you could never do on your own as a tourist. Well worth the cost and I am a penny pincher, deluxe! Looking back at my pictures, I can’t even believe all we did in one day! Highly recommend 🤗

We scheduled a private tour for the road to Hana. We agreed to a pick up at the park-and-ride downtown, so that we would have more time to actually travel. For two weeks before we got to Maui, there was a big storm system and there was much flooding and downed trees. Nick and Eugene were in contact with us many times to let us know how things were going. It was raining on the day of of the tour, but Nick still felt that we could safely go along the road to Hana and offered us a different route back through the center of the island near Haleakala since we probably wouldn’t be able to spend much time on the various road to Hana stops because of the rain. We gladly accepted and we’re so excited that we did! The road to Hana definitely did not disappoint. The waterfalls were simply amazing because of all the rain. And on the alternative route home we actually got to witness the moving of 20 head of cattle by two Cowboys and two dogs a couple of miles down the road to a new grazing area. What a show! Nick was knowledgeable, kind, entertaining, and very accommodating. Since it was a private tour, it was possibly more expensive than most people would want to pay. But I cannot express how worth it it was! This is definitely a high recommend.

Our ship docked at 8, and because they pick up at 9, it gave us plenty of time to not have to be in the crowd getting off, and get there in time. Nick was a fabulous guide! He explained things really well including some history on things, as well as his extensive knowledge of all the flora he showed us. So many beautiful waterfalls and so many other wonderful things that we were able to see thanks to our driver, Nick! He was very patient and kind!

We took the road to Hana tour with Eugene as our guide. We loved that we could schedule as a small group. After experiencing the narrow road and the many single lane bridges along the path we were so glad we didn’t take this adventure on ourselves! We learned a lot about the history of the island, fun facts about the environment and the fish, whales, sea turtles and other creatures that are found on Maui!

Taking this tour could not have been a better idea! Nick was not only friendly but incredibly knowledgeable about everything we saw and every place we went. He was flexible in terms of fine-tuning the tour to our interests and needs. And, best of all, by using a private guide, we could focus on what we were seeing instead of trying to navigate the highly twisty and tricky roads, and therefore missing half of what could be seen. The road to Hana tour is a full day experience of driving but the scenery and stops make it worth it. The various climates and beauty we saw was amazing! Our guide Nick was so friendly and knowledgeable, it felt like we were hanging with a friend. He did a great job of sharing Hawaiin history and giving you a sense of how the locals live. We had plenty of stops and saw a lot. We ended the day with a swim at a favorite local beach and then watch the giant sea turtles lounge in the sand. It was a great way to appreciate Maui beyond the resort scene.

Nick was the most incredible tour guide I’ve had the privilege to spend the day with. Nick was so knowledgeable about the island and the people but most of all he was so fun!! He took us to beautiful beaches, swimming under waterfalls and amazing local food. It didn’t actually feel like a tour. It felt more like spending a day with a friend sightseeing a magical island.. I loved it so much im coming back in November with my husband and Nick is gong to take us around so my husband can experience this as well.
