Private Road To Hana Rainforest & Waterfall Experience From Maui

We opted for a private tour on the Road to Hana. Our tour guide was Jason. We weren’t sure it would be worth doing it private but it was! We were able to stay longer at some places and skip other places we didn’t want to go to. We had the flexibility to change the itinerary on a private tour. Jason was amazing! He was very knowledgeable of Hawaiian culture and history. He was laid back and had us laughing with his dad jokes. The fruit stand along the way had the freshest fruit and everyone we met were so kind. I definitely recommend this tour and make sure to ask for Jason!!

We had the best day with our guide, Jason! He had tons of knowledge and history to share! We saw surfers while we ate our breakfast at the beach, so many beautiful waterfalls, the black sand beach, red sand beach, and had the BEST Huli Huli Chicken for lunch! He always told us when to have our phones up if there was a view to catch while we were driving, too! I’m so glad we opted for the private tour for just the 4 of us! It was a long day but sooo worth it! Jason also gave us pointers on other spots to visit and gave us an itinerary to follow for Haleakala the next day! Highly recommend!!!

Our Road to Hana tour was absolutely amazing! 🌺 Our guide Malu was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience even more memorable. We learned so much along the way and enjoyed every moment. And Miko the doggy passenger was just adorable! Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Maui! Only one final note- the road is like a roller coaster so you may need Dramamine.. our guide was prepared! 🌴✨

Lisa is a terrific guide/driver. She shared her knowledge on local history and all the good places to eat/shop. We felt like family by the end of the trip.

Jason took our family of 10 on the road to Hana tour. He was excellent as a guide and driver. It was so nice to enjoy the experience without worrying about driving. The banana bread, swimming in the waterfall, swimming at the black sand beach, and HuliHuli chicken lunch were all outstanding. Jason also stopped several places for us to stretch our legs and take photos. Would definitely do this tour again and request Jason!

Lisa, the guide was very informative. Providing history of the towns while driving us to local venues to get a feel of community. Along the route was homemade goods, and delicious bbq. The personal tour of the Cacao farm, East Maui Chocolate Farm was exciting. We also stopped along the route to take in the falls and hiking trails. We enjoyed the bamboo trail. I highly recommend this tour with Lisa. She created warm lasting memories for my family and I appreciated it very much. The lunch and chocolate were delicious too. Thank you!

Be prepared for an amazing day of scenery, fun, swimming, culture and laughter!! Our driver was extremely knowledgeable and knew all the best places to go to avoid crowds and still see everything! Aunty’s Banana Bread and the Huli Ribs are a must🤙

I had a great time on my road to hana tour with Jason. He is the LeBron James of tour guides. went out of his way to accommodate me and my family and kept us entertained for the whole day. He was extremely knowledgeable about the route, the islands, and everything else. He also has very kind friends who are vendors on the route and showed us all of the attractions. 11/10 for this guy!

Today we did the famous “Road to Hana” (or Hana Highway) which winds along the undeveloped eastern coast of Maui with cliffs above the Pacific Ocean on one side and lush rainforest full of majestic waterfalls on the other. The Road to Hana, officially known as the Hana Highway, is a 64-mile scenic drive on the island of Maui, Hawaii, connecting Kahului to Hana. Along this route we witnessed lush tropical rainforests, majestic waterfalls, and unique attractions such as the Waianapanapa Black Sand Beach and rainbow eucalyptus trees. Along the way, we explored various stops, including stopping for fresh homemade banana bread and barbecue, hiking trails, lava tube caves, and pristine beaches. I jumped from the top of a waterfall and we saw giant sea turtles basking in the sand. Finished the evening off with some amazing kids performing traditional Hawaiian dances

This has to have been one of the best tours I've ever been on. If you have only one tour to go on during your trip, make it this one.

Absolutely incredible day! We loved our tour guide Maya. She went out of her way to make our group comfortable. We explored beautiful Maui, got to eat some delicious huli huli chicken, walked the black sands beach, swam in a waterfall, and enjoyed great stories of the history and culture of this beautiful island.

Great scenery and our guide (Anthony) was very informative and helpful. We had plenty of time for pictures and breaks. Just a heads up that a couple people in our group experienced motion sickness. Taking some Dramamine and ginger root helped. The car motion while covering the switchbacks can induce inertial confusion particularly from the back seats. Sit further up front and with access to fresh air/breeze if your vulnerable.

Anthony was the most excellent guide. We saw so much-waterfalls, turtles, black beach, spectacular views, chocolate making, fruit trees-and learned so much about the islands, and truly had a fun-filled day without worrying about the driving. Would highly recommend the private tour, as it gives more flexibility to make it the best day on Maui!

The Road to Hana tour was entertaining and so informational BUT what made the trip was the amazing guid that we had. Maluhia was not just friendly but by the end of the trip felt like a part of the family, so much so my son started calling her auntie halfway through the tour. The passion and love that she had for the island and the rich history that ran through every inch of the soil was seen far beyond expectations. We were so blessed to be paired with her and we can’t wait to see you next time auntie!

All I can say is “Wow”. Our driver, Jason, was amazing - really helped us appreciate the tour. He helped us understand the culture and history of the area. His experience doing this tour helped him focus the tour on what we were really looking to do. Couldn’t recommend this tour company more - we used them twice while visiting Hawaii.

Had an amazing time with our driver Dell on the road to Hana tour. He was informative, funny and the most important the best driver. We stopped off many times for photos, snacks, beach, lunch turtles and waterfalls. Once we returned he even sent out an email about other site seeing places to do along our journey. If we were visiting Maui again we would definitely give them a call for another tour.
