The Dole Plantation is a popular tourist destination in Wahiawa, Oahu, Hawaii, founded in 1950 as a fruit stand and now offering visitors an educational experience about pineapple cultivation through activities like the Pineapple Express train ride, a visit to the World's Largest Garden Maze, and a stroll through various gardens. Guests can learn about Hawaiian agriculture and heritage, enjoy local treats like the famous Dole Whip soft-serve ice cream, and purchase pineapple-themed souvenirs.
Haleiwa is a historic town due to its sugar plantation past, its well-preserved plantation-era architecture, its designation as a State Historic, Cultural and Scenic District, and its role in the early development of surfing culture. The town maintains its historic character through architectural guidelines that preserve its old-town aesthetic, even as it has become a modern surf mecca and tourist destination.
Waimea Bay holds some of the largest surf in the state! Winter months in Hawaii is still beautiful and perfect, But the waves on the North Shore can get massive! WInter months are perfect for surfing events and competitions since large waves over 20ft is a common site. In the Summer months the North Shore environment gets calm and peaceful. Perfect view of Waimea Bay as we drive thru North Shore

Great place to buy local delishes macadamia nuts and try some of our beautiful tasting Local Coffee! Hawaii is the only state that grows coffee commercially.

Beautiful lookout area on the fast east side of Oahu. Here on a clear day you can see three of the other islands in our chain. Maui, Molokai and Lanai. An Unforgettable Private Tour of Oahu with Paolo! We had an absolutely wonderful 9-hour private tour of Oahu with Paolo from Hawaii Rainbow Tours, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From Pearl Harbor and Chinaman’s Hat to the beautiful North Shore and so many other incredible sights, Paolo showed us the very best of the island. What truly made this tour special was Paolo himself. He was so friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing the beauty and culture of Hawaii. It was clear that he truly cared about our experience and wanted us to enjoy every moment. The 9 hours flew by because of his engaging stories, great insights, and warm personality. He was also especially attentive to my husband, who has some walking limitations, making sure he was comfortable and able to enjoy the tour. That extra thoughtfulness meant so much to us. We also enjoyed some delicious local treats along the way, including the best shave ice at Matsumoto’s on the North Shore and amazing malasadas from Leonard’s. These little stops made the day even more memorable! From our very first contact with Paolo through the day of our tour, he was professional, responsive, and wonderful to work with. His pricing is very fair for the comfortable van, personalized attention, and wealth of knowledge he brings to the experience. We felt the tour was well worth every penny. If you’re visiting Oahu and considering a private tour, we highly recommend Paolo and Hawaii Rainbow Tours! The sights are beautiful, but Paolo truly made the day unforgettable. He was the highlight of our tour, and we would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a personalized, informative, and enjoyable way to explore the island.
We booked an impromptu tour of Oahu for the day we were boarding our cruise with NCL. Paolo was a fantastic tour guide with deep knowledge of the islands. He tailored our small group private tour to meet our needs and even found us a stop for Malissa's at Lennards. Highly recommend them!
Eric was a good tour guide 🤙 had a great time
My daughters brought me to Hawaii to celebrate my 60th birthday, and this tour was supposed to be one of the highlights of our trip. As a three time cancer survivor, I am so grateful to be in remission and was looking forward to making beautiful memories with my girls. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the most miserable day of our vacation. From the moment our driver picked us up, he singled out our group and was extremely rude to us. Other guests noticed it too. We had brought a cooler, which we were told ahead of time was allowed, and he seemed to assume it was full of alcohol. It was water. I need to drink a lot of water throughout the day, and being treated that way over it was humiliating. He also talked about safety first, but he was on his phone while driving and pulled away before my daughters were even seated. We were not late getting to the bus. We expected to learn about the history and culture of Hawaii. Instead, most of the tour was spent listening to stories about his family. He said we could ask questions, then cut us off whenever we tried. At 60 years old, I did not appreciate being treated like a child. The final straw was the turtle stop. He dropped us at a park where a large homeless encampment was set up. It did not feel safe, and we ended up calling a Lyft to leave. Our driver said he grew up on the island and had been a surfer and a security guard. I believe his name was Roy, but I would not swear to it. I cannot recommend this tour. You would be much better off renting a car and exploring on your own schedule or call Matt private tour.
Excellent tour. Our tour guide Chief Rob was very informative and comical. Had a great time!
We had a wonderful tour of Oahu with Paulo! He was energetic and knowledgeable about the island. He was passionate and caring about Hawaii. We were a senior family of 5, 3 siblings and in-laws age 69-83. Paulo became part of our family as the tour went on. We had all been to Honolulu 25 years ago and had seen Pearl Harbor, Waikiki beach and Diamond Head. So, this time we wanted to experience the North Shore and Windward side of the island. We also visited the Dole Pineapple plantation and a macadamia nut outlet. He took us to a wonderful restaurant for Hula chicken and lots of little shops along the way, as we are big shoppers. Beautiful views and interesting information! We had a GREAT day with Paulo, and we highly recommend him!
Fabulous experience, Jared was our driver who was very informative and such a safe and considerate driver. He took us to some great places we wouldn't have seen on an open tour. Particularly loved the food truck stop for lunch. Booked through hotel Concierge, but communication was great and our likes and dislikes were easily accommodated. So glad we chose the private tour! Highly recommended!
Went on a tour guided by Robert. His tour was informative, fun and entertaining! Enjoyed the beautiful day around the island. He was attentive and the food choice was yummy! Mahalo Robert! This tour was the highlight of our trip
We completely enjoyed our tour of Oahu with Paolo. He was extremely knowledgeable. You could tell how proud he was of his upbringing & love of his home state. His excitement of where he took us was contagious. He was considerate, polite & totally upbeat. What a joy it was to be with him!
During a brief stay in Honolulu (December 9/ 2019), my family wanted to see the surf on the north part of the island. Paolo picked the 4 of us up in a large comfortable van and off we went. He was personable, gregarious and knowledgeable - a great tour guide. The abbreviated personalized Dole tour was great. He found us parking to visit the Billabong Surf Competition, and took us to another beach to watch the huge shore break - carefully keeping us out of the water. He did find us an east side beach where we were able to get wet. After a shrimp truck lunch, and a Dole whip dessert, we finished the trip with a shave ice in Honolulu - wonderful. Paolo was a safe courteous and unflappable driver. Call Paolo to arrange your next tour of Oahu.
We recently took a tour of Oahu using Hawaii Rainbow Tours, with Paolo as our excellent tour guide. Paolo was polite, attentive, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable and informative. He made the day interesting and fun-filled for both kids and adults, and seemed to know exactly which destinations we would most enjoy. The van was roomy and comfortable for our group of ten. We also used Paolo for a half-day tour of Honolulu, which we equally enjoyed. We would highly recommend Paolo and Hawaii Rainbow Tours.
