**For the first time ever, I was catching waves BACK TO BACK, and I did it with Bradley!** 🙌🏽🌊 That feeling was absolutely incredible, and it’s something I’ll never forget. He knew how to guide me, give me the right tips, and help me believe in myself out there in the water. What I appreciated most was his energy, patience, and ability to make learning fun while still helping me improve. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Had a lovely time out on the water with Chad! I had never surfed before and we got right out there, he made sure we were super safe and took it at a tempo appropriate to our skill level. Overall it was really lovely and I would totally do it again.

Brad and Chad were fantastic surfing instructors for our grandsons (6 and 8). They were up and hanging ten like pros!

My 11 year old son and I booked a lesson and met our instructor Chad. Weather being what it is, we had booked the only day of the week with little to no swells. We were offered to book for later in the day with no issues and showed up in the afternoon. A few more swells and a great instructor (Chad) who figured out to keep it fun even as we waited for swells good enough to surf. My son had so many questions about the area and surfing and Chad gave us so much good info. My son said it was one of his best experiences. Highly recommend trying out these guys.

My family and I had an amazing time our guide/instructor Bradley was very helpful and patient and even though we had no surfing experience within the first 30 minutes everyone was having a blast!

Chad was the best instructor for my granddaughter and her friend. Really good at what he does. They were so comfortable and confident with him. Very reasonable price. Great outfit to work with. Would do it again in a minute. Mahalo Chad

Our family had a fantastic time today with Kona Mike's. Our instructors were all wonderful (especially with the keiki in our group) and worked hard to make sure we had a great experience.

Chad was great and didn’t make me feel bad for being really slow. It’s a much more strenuous workout than I ever imagined. Recommend arm strength training before trying for the first time haba

Instructors were very friendly, the girls had surfed before and he let them know that surfing here is slightly different to what they are used to. The small group was excellent since it gave them more attention for them to practice what they already knew and improve their skills. Girls had a great time and said the time out was just right, and worth what we paid. The location was perfect as it is just down from where we were staying and at a nice cove with an area dedicated for surfing, there was also a nice beach/tidepool area where you could also snorkel/relax afterward.

My daughter had an hour and a half privates lesson with Hana. She had so much fun and learned a lots. He gave great directions and was super encouraging.

Chad was fantastic and made a the first time experience a success! He was thorough and encouraging. He stimulated confidence. It was a great lesson!

My daughter wanted to learn to surf, so we found Kona Mikes Adventures and signed her up for a private lesson. Her instructor was Chad. Highly recommend Kona Mikes and Chad was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable and personable and was amazing with my daughter and teaching her the techniques. He knew the right places to go for the best waves in the bay. I was very nervous first when she wanted to do this but when I met Chad, he out our minds at ease. Knowing he has been surfing for 40 years and a certified lifeguard as well. If you're looking to surf either for the first time or more experienced.ook no further that Kona Mikes. The price was very reasonable as well.

We had a great time surfing with Hana, Chad and Ethan. They were great with our little kids (11) and our teenager (15). We all caught some great waves and had an awesome time! Highly recommend!!

I was staying on the Big Island a few days and wanted to try surfing for the first time. The weather forecast looked good so I booked a last minute surf lesson with Kona Mikes. Chad did a great job. I was definitely the oldest person surfing and Chad was patient.

Chad was great! Clear easy going directions. Just an all around great experience for us. My brother went out with Chad and it was clear to me it was too strenuous for me. I didn’t go out. That was fine with Chad. My bro was able to stand and surf! I got the pictures!

Aria was an outstanding surf instructor at Kona Mike’s Surf Adventures. She created a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment in which my daughter and I progressed from complete beginners to standing and riding a wave in just one session. Aria is exceptionally gifted at communicating key safety guidelines and the fundamentals of surfing while making you feel completely at ease as a beginner. Her personable approach and genuine encouragement made the experience unforgettable — she will go far in life. (Chad was also fantastic and added to the fun, supportive atmosphere.) The experience was fun for all three of my teens the water conditions were perfect for relatively inexperienced surfers. They were small waves but the staff made the experience worthwhile.

We called late the night before and they accommodated our large group. Instructors were thorough while being so patient with our group. So good that every one of us caught waves and surfed! Highly recommend!

Christian and Hana were awesome! They gave us all tips and tricks to be able to catch a wave. I would definitely recommend them to everyone and go again if we had the time!

Our kids had a fantastic time learning to surf with Christian. He was great with my teenage kids. They learned a ton from him and really enjoyed talking with him while waiting for the next set of waves. He was very enthusiastic and encouraging. We would highly recommend these lessons. We would have loved to go again if we were staying longer.

My instructor was amazing. He was super nice and patient. Helped me with adjusting my stance to ensure I at the very least, stood up on the board. Would highly recommend.

We booked surf lessons for our 3 kids — aged 8, 9, and 11 — and they had a fabulous time! I would highly recommend Kona Mike's Surf Adventures and a special shout-out to our instructors, Hanalei, Christian and Chad, who were wonderful with our kids.

Very helpful and informative staff! Eric was a great leader. We all got up and surfing multiple times. Wear a rash guard and lots of sunscreen on back of your legs. Highly Recommend!

We had Cobie as an instructor and he was amazing! He had really good tips and did a very good job of teaching us how to surf. He also did a great job of helping us catch waves as well.

I had a great time learning how to surf with Alex! The waves were great for beginners like me. Plus I got to see some fish in the water. As with everything in life, get there early. I was sent to a wrong location via Apple Maps. Luckily it was only 15 minutes away.

Koby, Alex, and Eric showed us a great time and kept us safe while doing it! I was able to catch and ride the waves better than ever before.

Wow!!! Perfect waves for beginners and excellent chill instructors 🏄‍♀️. Great experience for our 14 and 15 year olds!! And the he 55year old moms and dads too!!
