Kailua Beach is where we launch our kayaks and land upon return. Its well known for being one of the most family friendly beaches on Oahu.
If you Selected Hotel Pick Up and confirmed your pickup time and location, wait for you name to be called at the specified time. If you are driving, park in our lot for free (Kailua Beach Adventures). Meet your guide (If option selected) or your briefing staff for orientation. We will explain the routes and conditions. We have a full retail store and offer 15% off to Viator guests if you need Reef Safe Sunscreen, UV Shirts or souvenirs. Everyone is assigned a locker to store valuables while on the water. Get outfitted with your life jacket, snorkel gear, dry bag and kayaks. Then head out to the beach to start your kayaking adventure! We are located within a 5 min walk of Kailua Beach Park. Take in the Ko’olau Mountains, one of Oahu’s most iconic natural landmarks. This ancient volcanic mountain range runs along the island’s eastern side, its emerald-green cliffs and jagged peaks rising above Windward Oahu.
You will have excellent views of the Kaiwa Ridge, home to the popular Pillbox hike. Two WWII-era concrete lookouts sit along the crest, and from below you can spot them against the skyline.
Amazing views of Nu’uanu Pali, one of Oahu’s most famous scenic landmarks, set high in the Ko’olau Mountains between Honolulu and Windward Oahu. The Pali (“cliff” in Hawaiian) is known for its sheer green cliffs, sweeping views over Kaneohe and Kailua, and the strong trade winds that funnel through the pass. Your guide will share the history of this area, including the 1795 Battle of Nu’uanu, when King Kamehameha I’s forces won the decisive battle that brought Oahu under his rule.
Tour and tour guide was great!! But getting the kayaks out of the water and up the beach back to the facility ruined the experience but tour guide was Aces!
My daughter and I went out with Alex. He was a fantastic guide. It was an easy kayak. There was no mention of snorkeling the entire time though, so not sure why that’s in the name? Also, you have to be REALLY strong - you have to walk the kayak to and from the shop to the beach - about 0.5 miles - without the guide. I had to have strangers in the beach help me get the kayak back to the dolly as the guides are legally not able to help. I lift weights and am in pretty good shape and there was no way I was getting that kayak uphill on the beach.
Had a great time on the 2 hour tour. Even though we had very strong headwinds, we survived. Returning was much easier. Great tour of Flat Island with the seabird sanctuary. 10+ Tommy was our guide.
Staff was all extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We called on a September Friday morning and were able to get on a tour that afternoon. It was a windy day, so felt much more comfortable going out with a guide vs trying to DIY.
It's Hawaii, so you already know it's beautiful. Tommy was an amazing guide! Had a lot of information about Hawaii, including recommendations for different go-to spots around the island. Highly recommend
Wesley was the best guide across some of the roughest 22 mile an hour winds/waves! He ensured our safety from the point of instruction on land to the water station back at the store. Best tour guide ever and the experience so worthwhile!! If you want to see turtles, crabs, blow holes, and some awesome reef, this tour is for you!!

Tupre was such an awesome tour guide! I did the 2 hour tour with my brother and he was so kind, informative, and made it so fun! We went to the flat island bird sanctuary and got to see so many sheerwoods (wedgies). Loved it so much and so did my brother!!

A fantastic activity! We had 4 adults and 3 kids (ages 11-15) in our group. Carter was our tour guide and he did a great job getting us to the island, teaching us about the island (bird sanctuary) and giving us a mini history lesson/fun facts about the area. Highly recommend this tour if you are in the area!
Great family friendly experience. Staff helped you in and out of the ocean. Guide was very knowledgeable about the local wildlife and there were a lot of birds, crabs, etc on the island. We even saw a turtle while kayaking. Only note is that you do need to haul your kayak down to the beach which does take a bit of lifting when you get to the sand. Would recommend!
Tommy was awesome setting us up and Carson was the BEST giving instructions and helping get out out safely. Read the signs, follow the directions and paddle hard!

We did the 2 hour guided kayak tour with Justin. The paddle put to the island was tough with the wind but we managed to get there with a little work. Justin took us around the island and we say birds nesting and fish swimming in the water the small pools. It was a fantastic experience especially with the pizza from Bob’s afterwards.
Carter was a great guide, very clear with instructions and very patient. Wonderful commentary on the island. He made a challenging trip fun.

The island downpour added to the excitement, fun and challenge of this tour. Our guide, Joshua, led us through the rain to a small island bird sanctuary. There, he led us around the island pointing out the interesting flora and fauna. From crabs to birds to edible plants, he was extremely knowledgable and fun to be with. We highly recommend KBA and Joshua for this exciting day trip on Oahu.

Amazing experience with our tour guide Morgan! We had a nice casual icebreaker and then kayaked to Popoi'a Island. He was very attentive and made sure all of us were safe the whole time. He told us a lot about the islands around us and the seabird sanctuary. It was clear that he is very knowledgeable and loves his job! Would recommend to anyone who wants to explore Oahu!

Captain Morgan was our tour guide and he was fantastic. He took us out on a kayak tour to a bird sanctuary. While out on the water he kept us together and gave us tips to get to the island safety. While on the island he gave us a history lesson and pointed to the various islands and fauna, all the while telling us the names and the meaning behind them. He made it fun and memorable, I highly recommend the tour!

Originally we had reserved doing a 5 -hr kayak to the Mokes, but since the sea was rough, KBA allowed us to change to a 2-hour to the flat island. Tupre & Wesley were excellent guides, and did a fantastic job of explaining the wildlife and history of Flat Island (Popo’ia)

We had an amazing time on the Kailua Beach Adventure kayak tour, and a huge part of that was thanks to Morgan! The entire experience was so much fun from start to finish—beautiful scenery, great pacing, and just the right mix of adventure and relaxation. Morgan was incredibly informative throughout the tour, sharing interesting facts about the area, local wildlife, and history in a way that kept everyone engaged. One of the highlights was kayaking out to Popoiʻa Island (Flat Island), which was absolutely beautiful. Morgan did an excellent job helping us navigate the waters both going out and coming back, making sure everyone felt comfortable and confident the entire time. Honestly, Morgan was the best guide we could have asked for—friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and just all-around awesome. We felt safe, well taken care of, and had such a great time. Evelyn was our guide and she was amazing! Friendly, super knowledgeable and always aware of our group! I loved everything about her! The tour kayaked out to flat island where Evelyn shared her wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm and then kayaked back. Everything was well organized and easy to navigate.
We booked a 2 hour kayaking tour with Alex and Wesley who were very knowledgeable and great guides. They made sure we were all gathered safely in the ocean and hooked our kayaks to theirs as the waves were rough today. We stopped at Flat Islands and walked around while our two guides gave us a brief history before heading back to shore.
Alex/Wesley were such helpful and fun guides for our Kayak excursion! We originally booked the Twin Island Kayak Tour, but due to weather conditions, we changed to the two hours and the staff was super informative and provided ample notice. On the tour, they were extremely helpful as we were a group of beginners but felt super supported and safe the entire time. The island tour itself was great and informative as well. Definitely recommend if you’re visiting Kailua!
It was very windy, but Tupre helped so much getting to Flat Island. He shared so much info about the island. It was a great experience!!!
