This was a great tour that covered quite a few must-see sights. Summer was our driver/guide and did an outstanding job of making the most of each attraction. She was a wealth of information and local history and made every minute fun and memorable. I would enthusiastically recommend this tour to everyone.

Itinerary
We begin at historic Pearl Harbor where you will experience firsthand the earth-shattering events that catapulted the U.S. into World War II. Join us at the USS Arizona Memorial, a deeply moving and emotional experience where you will learn about the 1,177 seamen who perished when their battleship was sunk during the December 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. You’ll witness the attack in a 23-minute documentary and then cross the harbor to the Memorial in a Navy vessel. At the Memorial, pay your respects to the heroes whose names are etched in marble in the Shrine Room. Look into the water and note the oil droplets – “The Black Tears of the Arizona” – that continue to escape the sunken battleship and rise to the harbor surface. Back at Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, there will be time to visit the WWII museum exhibits and the bookshop.
During this time, you can explore the Dole Plantation Store, where you'll find pineapple-themed souvenirs, local crafts, and specialty foods like jams and dried fruit. Don’t miss trying a Dole Whip, the famous pineapple-flavored soft-serve treat. You can also take a short walk to see the beautiful Rainbow Eucalyptus trees, known for their colorful, multi-hued bark.
Our breathtaking voyage continues as we take in the valleys and cliffs of the emerald green Koolau Mountains and the rocky shoreline of South Oahu. You’ll be amazed by the incredible panoramic views from Nuuanu Pali Lookout, Makapuu Point, and Hanauma Bay.
Arriving at Polynesian Cultural Center, you’ll enter a world that celebrates the music, dance, and way of life on six Pacific Island nations: Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, and New Zealand. Explore a diverse spectrum of Polynesian traditions as you visit authentic villages for each nation. Meet Pacific islanders from across globe, listen to their stories and songs, and watch their joyful dances. Take a canoe ride from village to village and learn Tahitian spear throwing and Samoan cooking. Sit back and enjoy the colorful Polynesian Canoe Pageant and relax over a delicious barbecue lunch.

Be sure to ask for your guide Pappa P... he is the absolute best. Not only does he provide snacks and drinks, but tells interesting things about the history of the area as we move from place to place. He goes out of his way to make sure his guests are comfortable.
This tour was great! Summer was so knowledgeable and we learned so much! I only wish we would have had more time for each activity- especially at the Polynesian Culture Center. Had so much fun!
Great time. Wonderful experience. Summer’s itinerary for the Polynesian Cultural Center was perfect.
This tour is entirely too long. The Pearl Harbor tour was interesting. The Dole plantation was only a souvenir stop. The Polynesian Center tour was too much after a long rainy day. If you want to do these activities, do them separately on different days.
We had an amazing experience with Aloha Sunshine Tours on the Pearl Harbor, Plantation, and Polynesian Cultural Center tour! Papa P was absolutely the best tour guide — incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and attentive to everyone throughout the entire day. He made the experience feel very personal and took the time to get to know all of us, which made the tour even more special. It was a long day, but Papa P kept everything fun, engaging, and comfortable from start to finish. He shared so much interesting information and local history, included everyone in the experience, and truly went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great time. He was also hilarious and made us laugh all day long! One of my favorite parts was when he played the guitar and sang songs for us. It made the tour feel so authentic and memorable. We also loved hearing his stories about his family and life in Hawaii. You can really tell how much he cares about people and loves what he does. We would absolutely recommend Papa P and Aloha Sunshine Tours to anyone visiting Hawaii. Thank you for such a wonderful and unforgettable experience!
The tour description states that the tour starts at 7am. The tour operator informed me that it actually starts with a pickup time of 6:15am telling me that the tour company has informed Viator of this but Viator failed to change the start time. The description also states the tour lasts 6-7 hours which is what I planned for. It is actually 12 hours and had I known I would not have booked this. The bus air conditioning was inadequate and the speaker system was so loud I wore hearing protection all day. The driver/tour guide was good, very friendly, helpful and informative. If it wasn’t for him, I would have given the review only 1 star. The war memorial and the Polynesian Cultural Center were both spectacular and I definitely recommend a visit to both.
Our tour guide Papa p was very kind person, he gave us the best experience. Food stop was delicious, we enjoy a lot on this tour. Thank you Papa p
Sunny is an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable, unbelievable amount of information. The tour was worth the time and money.
Summer was a fabulous tour guide! So helpful and insightful and always watched out for us. The tour stops were great, each had enough time. Would highly recommend this tour!
If I could give this tour 10 stars I would. This was such a beautiful experience that I did not want it to end. Papa P made us family in our time together. He told us beautiful stories about his family and showed us pictures. Papa P played his guitar and sang to us. He also played music and we sang in our seats. I cried a little bit on the way back to Waikiki because I didn’t want the day to end. It was a memory I will hold in my heart forever!
Our driver, Anthony, was fabulous. He was very knowledgeable and personable. He kept things interesting and on time. We were even able to squeeze in a couple bonus short stops. All admission is part of the tour, so you don’t need to worry about anything.
Excellent time with “Cousin” Johnny. He kept a very busy tour on time, kept us entertained, and even fit in two extra short stops (coffee & Mac nut tasting and see the turtles in Turtle Bay).
Lena was over the top and made everything so special. She really is very knowledgeable and the whole bus had a great day!
The Pearl Harbor tour was very sad but at the same time was beautiful, the Dole Plantation was short and sweat, but Johnny the tour guide made a good driver to the Poly culture center, with bonus stops long the North Shore Driver Johnny Aloha
Polynesian center was a very nice experience Beautiful place would need a little bit more time to see everything really exciting
Amazing trip to take. Polynesia cultural center in as quiet fun and highly recommended this trip. The ticket works for next 3 days
We were able to see the whole island. Our tour guide even took us to extra stops along the way. She had a lot of information about the island and is a local so it was great to get all of that on the tour. Great job Lalena!
Visiting Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona were memorable for me. Secondly, the Polynesian Cultural Center was fine though we wished we had more time there. We were there for less than 3 hours.
Wonderful way to spend a day! Lena was very knowledgeable about PH, DPP, and the Cultural Center, with bonus stops at the North Shore and a Macadamia Nut farm. Great way to see the island with a resident expert!
Bus broke down at pearl harbour stop, leaving us an hour behind schedule which meant limited time at the dole plantation, the reason I went on this tour!!! No compensation, no apology from your company. Waste of money. Do not recommend
Getting to see not only the places but different stops along the way. Leena was amazing! She even brought us some poi donuts and boy were they delicious. Getting to learn all about Hawaii in a day was pretty amazing.
Our driver, Anthony, was wonderful. Nice tour info funny stories tremendous dad jokes! Pearl Harbor was emotional and Polynesian Cultural Center was fantastic- highlight of the tour. Dole not impressive as we were rushed through it. A mandatory stop at a local quirky lunch stop was weird -I’m all for supporting local but don’t do it since lunch isn’t included and you have to pay separately anyway, save your money for the food at the Polynesian Center. Also we had a couple of passengers who had to be rushed back to the airport which we did not know ahead of time or didn’t realize that we would have to have a tight schedule to accommodate getting them back to the airport in time. So some members of the group didn’t appreciate the drive to the airport. Finally be prepared to get off the bus at Pearl Harbor and go in and add your name on the standby list using the electronic tablets as soon as you walk in as tickets purchased here are not guaranteed. FYI the submarine tour is not included in Your ticket price it is about 21 dollars extra and at Pearl Harbor only clear bags everything else leave in your car.
Ricardo was great and dealt with the tour bus issues amazingly and still managed to give us a wonderful tour and showed us a lot that the island has to offer. Polynesian Cultural Center was a huge surprise definitely not what we expected. Tour guide was right calling it Disney in Hawaii.
Guide was wonderful. Just not enoug enough time to absorb all of the information and experience that I would have liked.
To experience the history it will never forget and Jonny . Driver was awesome and entertain and took really care of us . No
This was an excellent tour of the island! Our guide/driver took us to all the scheduled locations and threw in a few that we might not have known about. Book this trip and see the whole island. You will be glad you did!
What a serene trip. I was touched and felt a presence hanging in the air and would recommend this trip for every American at least once in their lives!
Rick was the best tour guide we have ever experienced. Extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating to all of us The ultimate professional. Thank you
Ricardo was outstanding And the most patient man I have ever met Pearl Harbor was sobering Polynesian Cultural Center too much like a theme park Need more time to actually see and learn about the Dole Plantation
The entire trip was rushed. We waited for 20 minutes for a couple to show up in the morning and then another 48 minutes for another late couple at Pearl Harbor. We were rushed at all the other stops and could not enjoy the rest of the trip. Definitely would not do again. Plus the Bus Driver was complaining about everything about Hawaii and the President and how bad USA treats their stare.
Learning about the history of Hawaii at the Polynesian Culture Tour and that of the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941. The Dole Plantation was nice to buy pineapple products. Didn't learn about how they process them at this site. Johnny Aloha was an outstanding guide! We learned a lot from him
Rick our tour guide drove us to many places that was not included in the package which was great. He was very knowledgeable as well with Hawaii’s history
No time at Pearl Harbor to do anything but the Arizona and we had early tour time tickets, then another QUICK stop at the Dole Store also no time ride train or do the Maze. Then an unscheduled stop at the beach for quick photo (My hotel is on the beach so why??) Then early to Polynesian Cultural Center so bought lunch and was able to ride a boat and see 1 show then back on the bus. This was to be a 10/hr tour but most of it was on a bus going out of our way to the beach of all places Not sure why Not a Very Good use of Our Time for the Money. Find another Company then Viator!!!
Shannon was our tour guide. He was amazing! Provided a lot of knowledge of Hawaii as well as customer service.
This tour was More than what i expected and enjoyed the trip our driver and tour guide Rick was very knowledgeable and very accomodating.
Our tour guide, Anthony was so amazing. Very friendly and accommodating. He gave us so much information and fun facts about the islands
The whole experience was great. All locations were great. Not enough time to really experience the Polynesian Cultural Center, would suggest making that an individual all day visit. My tour guide was awesome.
Leena was an amazing driver - lots of wonderful stops as scheduled and then fantastic additional stops for fruit, coffee, mac nuts, and lunch! 10/10 would recommend!
The tour was not what was sold on the Webb and on the phone. No barbecue lunch as promised and driver shortened the amount of time at each location to worry about “traffic” getting to the next. Very disappointed. Have always used Viator and never had this happen!
Rick did a great job, pickup on time at our hotel in Waikiki, enroute, giving historical and present-day context to the places we visited on the tour around the island, with humor. Would definitely do again! It was a cheerful group on the bus! Cheers from California
August was our tour guide for the day and he was fabulous!! He was very informative and showed us so much about the island!! I would have liked a little more time at Dole to be able to see the plantation and grounds. We barely had time to do anything at Dole. But it was still a great day!!!
Pearl Harbor. It was very interesting, and very sad. I felt it was a solemn but quite knowledgeable visit.
I was able to experience my 2nd trip to Pearl Harbor on this vacation with this tour. It started with the USS Arizona, then the Dole Plantation, then the Polynesian Cultural Center. Our host quickly took us to the Pearl Harbor, Arizona Memorial early in the morning so he could pick up 2 more people at the airport. This gave us more time at the Memorial. Since I had already visited the Missouri and the Arizona a few days earlier, I quickly ran over to the Submarine Memorial, the submarine BOWFIN as well as the Submarine Museum. As a Veteran of the US Navy, we are able to get a discount on the ticket to the submarine and museum. Also, if you show your Veteran ID card at the Submarine snack shop, you can get a free lunch!!! Submarine Museum was incredible. My actual submarine USS Louisville was well displayed from our historic launch of missiles into Bagdad in 1991. I had enough time, I ran over and caught the ferry over to the USS Arizona, still impressive, even 3 days later. Dole Plantation was a rush, hardly any time at all, not enough time to even get some lunch (we were all starving). So we all just bought some snacks quickly and brought them on the shuttle with us for the drive over to the Polynesian Cultural Center. PCC was impressive and fun. As a group, we all went to the first two performances (Samoa and Tonga). Then we were on our own for 1 hour to eat or catch other shows. Our host, Shannon was very very informative as he drove us all around town. He was able to answer all of our questions all day. The worst part of this package is no lunch anywhere and really, no time for lunch was scheduled. Even having lunch at the PCC was difficult. I know my food took 28 minutes to be prepared. Thank you Shannon for a wonderful day!!! Bill
We saw the top two attractions in Oahu with ease. Our tour guide Shannon was prompt and extremely informative. This was a wonderful experience and definitely the highlight of our vacation.
