Outrageous Surf School Lesson On Lahaina Side

The guide was fantastic. We were out catching waves within 15 minutes of our arrival time. Got to spend almost the entire time surfing and that doesn’t even account for the amazing price! Guide was friendly, price was affordable, and the experience was awesome. Can’t recommend highly enough!

We met Scott on the first morning of our week in Maui. He moved the original location to try and find some better waves. Upon arrival, he asked if we would be in town long enough to rebook. So glad we did! We ended up going out Thursday after Scott looked at the weather report. Our family of five caught so many waves that we were exhausted just from paddling back out each time! Such an amazing experience! Scott was such a great instructor, that all of us were standing and riding waves in on the first few tries. One of my daughters even was able to start catching her own by the fourth try! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great experience!

Great surfing experience. Scott was great at explaining the instructions and continued to give feedback to help us improve while we were surfing. We got to catch tons of waves. In my previous surfing lessons, there would be a decent wait time between waves but Scott would help us catch small or big waves giving us tons of practice.

Excellent time. Scott was great helping us maximize our number of waves. 1.5 hours was just the right amount of time. Be sure to call to confirm the day before if you haven’t already heard from them. The meet up spot is about 1/4 mile from the closest beach park. Scott provided booties for us to wear that really helped because this area was pretty rocky. There are several surf schools offered in this area. The waves were great for us beginners. None around us so we had all the space we needed. Wear lots of sun screen and be prepared for sore arms the rest of the day. Had a blast will book again next time we come to Maui.

Great teacher, really chill guy. He explains very well. The place is also great, very good waves and there’s was only a few people around us.

Small group experience with a lot of wave time. It costs a lot less and the equipment is well used, but works well and you get a lot of wave time and instruction.

We all had a great time and we all were able to stand up and ride some waves! 1.5 hrs is enough if you are new to surfing!

My sister and I had so much fun learning to surf! Just a quick overview on land then off to the water. The hour and a half lesson was the perfect amount of time for an introduction and multiple successful waves. There was also multiple groups of beginners, so no need to be nervous. Above all, the staff made the experience worth every penny and more.

I had an amazing experience with the surf lesson! The instructor was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, and made learning to surf really fun and comfortable. Great experience from start to finish, and I would definitely recommend this lesson to anyone wanting to learn how to surf!

It was amazing, lots of fun! So fun that we came back and rented some boards. Instructors gave us individual attention and helped us find our groove.

Our meeting time was moved up 30 minutes. They were wonderful communicators and they were easy to find the day of the lessons. My boys really enjoyed learning to surf and can’t wait to take what they learned and do some surfing on their own.

Our instructor Scott was a cool guy and super chill. My husband and I had never surfed before but Scott’s instruction was helpful and right to the point. We must have caught around 30 waves within an hour and a half. The views from the beach of Maui were also amazing.

Our group had a wonderful time! As a group who have never surfed, it was simple and easy to follow the instructions and learn the steps and stances. We caught many waves and had a blast! Great lesson for beginners who want to spend the time in the water getting experience.

Just did this morning, it was incredible!! My wife and I rode many waves. Scott is an awesome instructor-guides you on the board, when to paddle and stand up. First I’ve caught a wave on own with his guidance truly felt what it feels like to paddle into and stand on a wave!!!!! Really awesome experience! Highly recommended Scott and team!!

First, Incredible experience. However, be ready to flex. We were originally scheduled for Tuesday at 10 but I got a call right as we were leaving to reschedule because of 50 mph winds. 😬 We ended up moving it to the next day at 8am and then later that day, it got moved to 7:30am. There’s a reason for that. Scott and his team wanted to make sure that we got the best waves near low tide. And we did. Scott instructed me and my 3 boys, one of which is a 270 lb lineman. Only my two younger ones had surfed before but Scott had us up after the first two or three waves. And he knew exactly where to be. We had barely paddled back out there to him before we were back on the board surfing again while others were just laying on their boards. Scott had us cycling over and over and over again. We were probably up on our board around 15 times in the hour and a half we were out there. We literally stopped because we were so tired. And Scott has the right boards for big guys like me and my son. If you’re 215 and above, you need to book with them. Final note: make sure you have a rash guard and not a swim shirt. He may have had some available for us, but we did not realize there was a difference between a swim shirt and a rash guard. My kids got lit up. We had a great experience and it was good to go with a guy that’s been around for 2 decades. He knows the waves here.

Great price and great experience! I tried surf for the first time, the instructor put a lot of effort in making everyone try and catch waves. I suggest to arrive a bit early to find the exact spot and the instructor (there are many surfers on the same beach)

Amazing experience!! My kids and myself enjoyed it so much and we actually were able to surf with just one lesson!! I strongly recommend you this experience and they went above and beyond! My kids actually want to repeat it because it was amazing!!

Scott and his team were amazing. They had our 3 kids (ages 9, 7, and 5) riding wave after wave and having a blast. They were very friendly, patient with the kids, and made the whole experience easy and fun. Highly recommend them!

Amazing experience would recommend this to anybody! New surfers and experienced surfers alike will all love this! Our surf instructors were very knowledgeable and kind. An hour and a half was the perfect amount of time to surf! It was a very focused experience with a small group and two instructors. We will definitely be coming back!

We signed our kids up for this experience, and it was great. Scott taught them really well, and they were up and surfing within minutes. They all really enjoyed their time in the water and thought it was well worth the money. There are a number of surf schools right there where you meet the instructors, so you have to be prepared to possibly fight for traffic. The side of the road is torn up pretty badly, so it can be difficult to get off the road safely. It is not the school’s fault, it’s just something to be aware of. Also, the school puts a cone on the front of their truck so you can see them when you’re pulling into the area, but there are also a couple of other surf schools nearby which used cones, so it can be a little bit confusing. If you are going to watch somebody learn to serve, I highly recommend taking a beach chair since the beach is relatively rocky and covered with tree stumps and branches. Overall, great experience.

This company is great! the instructors are friendly, relaxed, and willing to accommodate their customers. Me, my 17 year old brother, and my 63 year old dad did a private lesson and we were all able to stand up on our boards several times! We even came back to rent boards last minute and they were more than happy to help. I would definitely recommend this company to others and if we return to Maui we will be using them again! My daughter took a private surfing lesson today and LOVED it. Ty was a fantastic instructor and helped her get the hang of it really fast and she was able to enjoy over an hour of surfing. The whole team was great to work with to set up the lesson, welcome us at the beach and make sure my daughter was comfortable. Price was very reasonable too. Highly recommend Outrageous Surf!

Scott was great at teaching us quickly so we had as much time as possible in the water! We were all up the first try and had so much fun doing it! The waves were nonstop so we got to ride a wave at least 30 times!

The surf lessons were easy for novice or first time and the location was very ideal. Waves are pretty choppy and so many rip tides in socal coast. The instructor dude was very helpful and encouraging.

My kids had an amazing time with Outrageous Surf! Their instructor was patient, friendly, and made them feel comfortable and confident in the water. It was the perfect way to celebrate my son's high school graduation, and both my son and daughter had a blast. They were standing up on their boards much sooner than we expected. Scott was amazing. He was able to get my 7 year old daughter to stand up and surf on her first try. Scott was also very focused on safety and made sure my daughter had a fun and safe experience. My tween son was hooked on surfing after his first group lesson with Scott. Scott is an excellent hands on teacher. My son enjoyed Scott's style and instruction so much my son took 3 lessons during our visit. Scott got students in the water quickly and made the most of the 90 minute time period. He connected with each student, provided individualized instruction, and cheered them on like a truly invested coach! Everyone learned how to surf, caught waves and had a fun time. The boards and gear were good. Dana organized my son's 1st lesson. She was efficient and caring. I am grateful for such a warm and skillful team.

Great experience and less expensive than other, similar surf lesson options. Got us out on the water quickly and I was standing up on waves within 5-10 minutes despite never surfing at all before. Very encouraging throughout and the group is small enough you get plenty of individual attention. Highly recommend!

Great surf instructor! It was my first time surfing, he showed us the basics, helped us catch our first couple of waves, then told us all we needed to know to do it on our own. He also picked a great location, and was very funny!

If you really want to surf, this is the experience for you! Scott was quick to get us in the water and standing almost immediately. Be ready to grind for the full 90 minutes.

After some good instructions on land, we quickly got into the water and stood up first go! The lesson was a good length of time in the water and caught heaps of waves. Very happy, great value for money.

First time surfing for my son and me. My daughter’s second. We absolutely loved it!!! I didn’t think I’d be able to stand, but we all did! Scott and Braden didn’t waste any time teaching and gave us all as many times to catch a wave as possible in 90 mins.
