Open Water Shark Dive

What an incredible experience! Getting in the water with tiger sharks was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! The crew was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. They made sure everyone knew what to expect and felt comfortable before getting in the water. We took our 11 year old son and the crew was awesome with him!! Seeing these massive, beautiful sharks up close in their natural environment was absolutely surreal. It’s one of those experiences that pictures and videos just don’t do justice. If you’re even considering doing this, DO IT! Such an unforgettable adventure, and we’d do it again in a heartbeat!

Amazing close encounter with sharks! Guides were great. We all felt comfortable around the sharks. Definitely saw more sharks and they got closer than I had expected. Only 5 of us in our group which meant more personal interaction with the sharks. Got a little sea sick- take some Dramamine!

Not often you get more than you dreamed, these guys delivered! I’m not a confident swimmer but I didn’t want to miss this experience-so grateful I didn’t. Crew, boat, ready, professional, communicated their love of the sea and all the natives inhabiting it, especially the sharks. They gave us clear, simple instructions and fun facts. The queen of sharks was waiting for us when we arrived, up close and personal🙌🏻 An experience I’ll never forget, no fear, only awe at this incredible creature. We went out with a group of six of us and the staff made us feel extremely safe and excited. Terry was sure to give us all ample time for our individual pictures while Ronnie kept an eye on our surroundings to make sure we were safe. We were stoked to see two very large tiger sharks in addition to about a dozen Galapagos sharks and tuna. Even though the weather conditions were less than ideal and the water was very stormy, our captain Stacy was incredible making the ride in and out as smooth as possible as well as keeping an eye on us while in the water to make sure we were floating in a safe spot from the boat. Overall the trip was incredible and the staff went above and beyond for all of us. Definitely will be booking again when we are in town.

This was the most incredible experience ever!!!! We had Terry, Ronnie, and Stacy and they were the best crew anyone could ever ask for!!!! Booked two tours this week and they just keep getting better and better. First crew was Stacy, Terry and Ronnie. We had a few shy Tiger sharks hang out with us and on my second dive with Ro, Sammy and Lucas we had THREE Tigers all dive! Everyone was keeping us safe but allowing us awesome memories with these sharks. So fun. Can’t wait to be back out in a few weeks! This was hands down one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had, and I can't recommend it enough. We were incredibly lucky because we had so many active sharks during our dive. Watching them move so gracefully around us was absolutely surreal and unlike anything I've ever experienced! A huge thank you to our captain Stacy for running such a smooth trip. Sammy, our safety diver, was outstanding!! She really made the experience for us. Her calm demeanor and confidence made us feel completely safe in the water. Really allowing us to take in the moment. Jackson was amazing as well. Not only was he another safety diver, but he captured the most INCREDIBLE photos that we'll have forever. This experience was FANTASTIC! They worked with rescheduling when winds were a concern. Communication was great-easy and quick in responding. We went with Stacey, Ronnie, and Meghan were incredible. They were knowledgeable and answered questions. I felt very safe in the water. They explained clearly how to stay safe in the waters. We saw a large amount of sharks too! They also discussed what we can do to help protect the sharks. Hands down recommend this!!! Thank you for a bucket list fulfillment!!!

The total experience was amazing. For starters it’s reasonably priced. The entire experience was easy and amazing. Easy location to find, perfect amount of time in the water, and a great crew. Stacy, Ronnie, and Terry were an amazing group of guides. They were incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. They truly brought me peace of mind in a relatively intimidating situation that I was inexperienced with. My wife actually got seasick on the way out (not the guides fault it was just a bit choppy and now we know she gets sea sick) she was also pretty nervous about it so that combination made her not really want to go in. While the rest of us were in the water captain stacy was very kind to her and helped give her the courage she needed to get in there, and she did not regret it!! We saw a very large amount of beautiful galapagos sharks, never once did I feel unsafe at all. The safety diver Ronnie was on top of it and Terry took incredible pictures to help us remember the amazing experience. Without a doubt would go again and would recommend to anyone wanting to take the dive!

This tour was by far on top of the list of the most amazing experiences I’ve done thus far! For starters, Ronnie, Stacey, Terry, and Ren were fabulous. We had a pair of Tiger sharks moving in and around use almost immediately once in the water. We also had Galapagos sharks mingle in as well as a pair of barracudas. We felt completely safe, as the guides gently guided the wildlife around us. While I didn’t do pictures, I could easily see this as a great addition for anyone wanting them.

Hawaii Adventure Diving was exhilarating! The team is incredibly knowledgeable and respectful of the ocean. They took the time to educate everyone. Stacy even went out of her way to hold my hand to get me into the water with the sharks. Roni, was a fantastic captain, Terry’s photos are an amazing way to capture this moment, and Wren was excellent at explaining everything. It was great to be in a small group with a professional crew. This should be the #1 thing you do in Oahu.

Ren, Ronnie, Stacey, and Terry were our marvelous tour guides. Although this is a very nerve racking adventure the entire crew made us feel safe and put a lot of emphasis on the “Dos” and “Don’ts” to avoid any conflict with the animals. Each guide was well trained in monitoring all the animals behavior and were quick to intervene if the proximity of the sharks was too close for beginners in the water. Terry has a crazy lookin camera that snapped some awesome shots of the group as we interacted and observed the Galapagos sharks. They were available for purchase after the fact! Super neat. An extremely impactful and insightful adventure that you’re sure to brag about for years to come! One love!

Thw shark divers were amazing, I was so scared of swimming in the ocean, but the divers really took care of that. Even though I'm a beginner swimmer, I managed to see the sharks, and it was a great experience. They prioritize safety above everything.

This trip was amazing! Kevin, Annika, and Ronnie were amazing and made it super easy, and Terry is amazing with the camera! Will definitely be coming out again asap.

Had an amazing time!! Felt super safe and loved the experience. This was my first time swimming with sharks but now I know it is definitely something I want to do more often! They went over what we can possibly expect to see and safety on the way out and the way they handled everyone in the water was awesome and adjusted to your comfort level! Had a phenomenal time with Hawaii adventure diving so much so I booked another tour a couple days later. Swimming with sharks felt very scary but the crew did a fantastic job making sure everyone felt secure, safe and confident in and out of the water. I got the photography package and terry made sure to get good shots of each person who bought the package. The only thing I wish is for us to be able to be in the water longer.

This is my SECOND time booking with them in a few months! First time was in November. The weather was calmer, I saw a LOT of sharks. Also had a different crew who was great so of course I booked again with them. Today, the weather was not so nice-choppy waters, rained a bit, but….i had high hopes and they did not disappoint. At one point we had about 20 sharks around us. The best way to explain it-ethereal. I can’t explain the feeling I get around these majestic creatures. It’s truly an experience of a lifetime. I can’t wait to go back again and see hammerheads and tiger sharks…and maybe someday I’ll see my great white shark. Thank you to Terry who was one of our guides and the photographer (He did an amazing job with the photos!) and the entire crew. What an epic day!

Perfect, exactly what they promote

I’m not even sure where to begin with Hawaii Adventure Diving. They are THE premier operator of shark tours on Oahu and my experience proved it. First of all, the crew is a small group of the most down to earth, passionate and knowledgeable people I’ve ever met. Diving with sharks has been at the top of my bucket list since I was a young kid and Annika, Captain Ro and Terry made sure the experience was one of a kind. Not to mention the killer photos Terry got of me during the dive (I haven’t stopped looking at them). Long story short, if you’re looking to check diving with sharks off your list, make sure you book with these guys. You most certainly won’t regret it. I can’t wait to come back for tiger sharks season in the near future

This was the absolute time of my life. The crew was amazing and the limited group made it so special and felt very safe. Make sure you’re a decent swimmer and comfortable in open water if you’re getting in to swim cause you’re out in it. We saw around 7 Galapagos sharks, and they were interested in the boat but weren’t remotely aggressive. If you’re able to dive under do it as much as possible. Definitely get the photography package (you can buy it day of and Venmo) and tip well!

We had a great time with Hawai Adventure Dive. We got to swim with Galapagos Sharks. It was a very peaceful expereience. They are beautiful creaturs. I love that it was a small group and had some education about shark behavior.

I have been a repeat customer of Hawaii Adventure Diving 5+ times and have had phenomenal experiences! This company keeps the group size small so you feel like you have a more one-one experience with the staff and animals. Two of those times I was able to have safe but close solo swims with a female tiger shark and countless Galapagos sharks. The Monday team of Terry (photographer), Stacy (captain), and Ronnie (safety diver) truly never disappoint. Upon showing up for my second dive with them, all of them remembered me and welcomed me back with enthusiasm. Terry is thorough in trying to make sure to get a variety of shots with you and the shark, with multiple opportunities per person. I really felt like the time spent with each guest (regardless of their decision to pre-purchase photos) was balanced and I appreciate that you don’t feel like you have to ask for a turn. I’ve had both Ronnie and Stacy as safety divers before and both are extremely attentive and knowledgeable about shark behavior, using their presence and posturing first and foremost to ensure mutual respect and safety between the sharks and the humans. Their expectations with guests of all swimming abilities is so clear, and their care of guests in times of anxiety was so compassionate and caring. 10/10 recommend this team!
