Oahu: Swim With Dolphins On The West Coast

We had a disappointing experience with the cancellation of our tour due to engine trouble and the way the situation was handled. First, there was confusion over transportation. The day before the tour, we contacted our booking agency to ask about the hotel pickup time. We were told that transportation was not included, so we drove ourselves to the harbor. We later discovered that a pickup email had been sent to my travel companion, but we had overlooked it. We acknowledge our oversight. However, while we were waiting at the harbor, a staff member initially mistook us for customers of another tour and directed us to a different meeting point. When we approached the staff again and explained our booking, we were told that they had been waiting for us in Ko Olina and that we should have contacted them directly rather than the agency. Although we had missed the email, we had also received conflicting information from the agency, so we found the accusatory tone upsetting. In a response to another review, the operator cited guests from Ko Olina being late as a reason for the bus delay. If that referred to us, it leaves out the conflicting instructions we received and the fact that we had made our own way to the harbor. We accept responsibility for overlooking the email. However, the decision about how long to wait at a pickup location rests with the operator. The bus could have departed at the scheduled time rather than waiting so long. We do not think it is fair to place responsibility for the resulting delay solely on us. The tour was ultimately cancelled because of engine trouble. We do not question the decision to cancel for safety reasons. However, equipment maintenance and the response to a breakdown are the operator’s responsibility, distinct from natural conditions such as weather or wildlife sightings. The response to the other review explained at length that the mechanic was off duty and lived far away. Those are internal operational matters; they do not address the time customers lost or how the disruption was handled. We cancelled another activity planned for the following day, incurred a cancellation charge, and joined the rescheduled tour. This meant rearranging our limited time in Hawaii. Simply being able to participate the next day did not resolve the disruption. The day before the rescheduled tour, we emailed to ask whether a discount on the tour could help offset the cancellation charge for our other activity. We received no answer to this request on the day of the tour. Only afterward were we told that no adjustment was possible because we had booked through an agency. If an adjustment was not possible, we should at least have received an answer before joining the rescheduled tour. During that tour, we caught only a brief glimpse of dolphins in the distance. We understand that these are wild animals and that close encounters cannot be guaranteed. Nevertheless, the experience fell well short of our expectations, and there seemed to be a considerable gap between the operator’s assessment of the experience and ours as participants. What disappointed us most was not simply the breakdown, but the communication and handling afterward. Although apologies were expressed, the emphasis seemed to be on explaining the operator’s circumstances rather than acknowledging the impact on customers. We did not feel that the loss of our valuable vacation time, or the burden of changing the following day’s plans, was adequately understood. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this tour. I hope the operator seriously reviews the consistency of its information with booking agencies, as well as its communication and response when problems arise.

The entire group was amazing everyone was super friendly! Seen tons of dolphins to swim with and seen lots of sea turtles as well! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking!

Best experience ever! The whole crew was amazing! The capitan was absolutely amazing at finding dolphins and we stayed out there longer than normal to make sure we get to swim with them. On the way back we saw lots of dolphins again and all jumped in to enjoy them again! It was absolutely incredible! The shuttle service was great too. The only thing is I wasn’t super happy about the pictures. But he said they’ll take it into consideration so no problem at all.

Boat was not operational. Tour operators arrived 25 min late and then informed us after another 35 min that the boat was not working and the mechanic wouldn’t arrive for another 2 hours, so they were cancelling the tour. Apparently there had been boat problems earlier in the week too. Unfortunate as this group is very highly rated. Seems they need to invest in boat repairs / a more available mechanic.

We saw many dolphins and then went to a quieter place to snorkel and saw fish and sea turtles there.

We had one of the best days of our lives on this excursion! The crew was great in looking out for wildlife and making sure we got to swim with them. We saw pilot whales, dolphin, a whale shark, false killer whale, an octopus, turtles, and more. Seriously, we couldn’t have imagined a better tour.

Every person on this tour created an unforgettable memory. If you're looking for a tour crew that won't pressure you to swim when you would rather enjoy the boat, this is the perfect team. They were kind, patient and respectful in every way. My sons have no issue jumping off a moving boat(it wasn't too fast, just not my tea) the adventure was super thrilling and perfectly safe as the crew looked out for everyone like a well oiled machine. My sons swam with beautiful dolphins, turtles and fish. One crew member brought an octopus to the surface for our group to hold. We weren't expecting a photographer to be on board; we were pleased by his perfect attunement to each group. Every photograph he took was both thoughtful and artful. Crew members played jokes, ukuleles and other music, pulling smiles from everyone. We went from being strangers to happy comrades in minutes. They served chips, drinks and lunch(not every tour offers this). Be aware: This venue is unable to accommodate for allergies. My family loved the food, but I have allergies. Even though I could eat the pork they couldn't prepare a meal without the other ingredients so I couldn't eat their meal. That said, I would not turn away from this tour. A monk seal greeted us in the harbor, the crew gave clear instructions and guidance. When I couldn't bring myself to join my husband and sons for the first attempt to swim with the dolphins, I was given dignity and space. After giving me time, many crew members gently asked if I was okay. They offered gentle suggestions then some options to try if I wanted to make the next attempt. The recommendations were less stressful and I was able to make a successful attempt in the next swim! I really owe it to a crew member who wasn't planning on swimming, she went with me. I felt so much better and was able to see the dolphins after all! Other guests offered words of support and kindness; I was grateful for their empathy. Our third snorkel spot was beautiful and I watched stress free from the boat without sea sickness triggered by my personal state of stress from earlier. My empathetic friends from earlier were troubled by sea sickness as were a few other guests; the experience was humbling to say the least. I've been on two other past snorkeling tours that left a bitter taste in their memory; this crew I will never forget, this experience was a healing one. The crew was full of fun, compassion and experience; they pulled us together in a private story that both I and my family will never forget. Mahalo friends

It was the best experience I’ve ever had. I was really impressed with everything! I brought my niece for her graduation present and she loved every second of it.

Very friendly informative staff that worked hard for everyone to see dolphins in the water. The water was a beautiful dark blue and warm jumping in. The view of the mountains from the boat may have been worth it by itself. One thing to note if you have motion sickness you may want to take something for it.

It was the best experience of my life! The guides were awesome and extremely helpful. They really wanted to make sure we all saw the dolphins and that we were comfortable going in the water (not scary at all, btw). They were very personable and wanted to get to know all of us. Lunch was great, too.

This was a small authentic tour which felt like going out with your cousins for a ride. Very casual but welcoming. We saw a lot of wildlife.

Great experience from beginning to end! The entire crew was absolutely amazing and made the whole experience so enjoyable. The pickup and drop off in Waikiki made everything super convenient, and the lunch and beverages served on board were a great touch. And definitely get the pictures from John—they’re worth it! Incredible! We saw hundreds of spinner dolphins from the boat. Then we snorkeled with a pod of Pygmy Killer Whales!! Other wildlife included sea turtles, an octopus, large schools of reef fish, and a sea cucumber for good measure. The crew was amazing. My only (small) gripe was the captain was a bit verbose when we were geared up waiting to get into the water after spotting wildlife, and about half the tour was very slow and uncomfortable in the water. Some of us had to cater to their speed which made us lose time with the Pygmy Killer Whales. They had enough crew where they could have split the group into a fast group and a slow group. I spent more time waiting in the water, per their instructions, to hold back so the slow tour members could catch up. It was a bit messy at times. The crew did the best they could, but I think they should have adapted. Still though, I'm being nitpicky and this tour was truly incredible. I would HIGHLY recommend. Special shoutout to the photographer, John. Dude was legit. Most of the photos attached were taken by him as part of the $75 photo package. Nearly 800 pictures! Crazy good deal.

Starting off the morning the crew called to make sure my husband and I arrived and found our way to the meeting point before the bus had even got there! I appreciated that they looked out for us! Each crew member was so nice and funny! The photographer got so many photos and included everyone, the driver was very funny and everyone was so helpful and kind! We saw SOO MANY dolphins and even swam so close to them! It was amazing!! We saw several turtles as well in the snorkeling portion and ended the day with a delicious Hawaiian pork, sweet potato, and rice meal…and cold drinks! The crew felt like friends not just guides and made it such a memorable experience! I definitely recommend this trip and hope everyone can have the luck we did with seeing that many dolphins!

The crew was great they were very informative we seen lots of dolphins and then snorkeling with turtles,fish and hold a baby octopus. We had a great time i would recommend this trip. My only issue is I didn't receive my pictures from Sunday 9/13/26 730 am

This tour was amazing! The crew was very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. They anticipated my needs before I even thought of it and everything happened for just the right amount of time and at the right time. The crew wanted to make sure everyone saw the wildlife and pointed everything out as best they could. The photographer tried to make sure every group got pictures taken of them and I think the cost for the pictures will be worth it. The crew was also thoughtful and called beforehand to tell us when to take motion sickness medicine if anyone needed it. They were also very kind and tried multiple times to call a missing group so they could come if they still wanted to. On our tour, we were able to see a large spinner dolphin pod from a distance and a large spotted dolphin pod up close. It was amazing. After the dolphin snorkeling we were able to see 3 sea turtles, 2 octopi, and tons of cool fish. After the turtle snorkeling, we had a yummy lunch. It was overall was an amazing tour.

This was a great tour by a knowledgeable crew who made you feel like family or friends, as if they were taking you out on the water. Incredibly chill and fun. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a fun, relaxing vibe.

Incredible experience! We've done a lot of snorkeling, but this, by far, was the most fun we've ever had. We were able to see a few pods of dolphins, sea turtles, and even a tiger shark and an octopus. The staff were super fun and the whole boat had a blast. Thank you for the memories!

Our tour got cancelled due to whether but we still have good experience overall. We were provided with general sea life knowledge and . Will book a tour with them again for sure.

I cannot believe how lucky we are to have joined the crew on this magical day. I've wanted to swim with dolphins since I was 4 years old, and 25 years later my dream came true! We jumped in with 3 pods, and then went snorkeling and saw 4 sea turtles and got to hold an octopus (well I guess he held us haha). The captain and crew were phenomenal, I felt super safe and guided the whole time. I think I cried at least 10 times. What an INCREDIBLE experience. 10/10 experience!! The guides are so knowledgeable and kind and made sure we saw dolphins! Swimming with them was unbelievable, a life long dream come true. The snorkeling with the giant turtles was also so lovely and peaceful. I like that the boat is small (only about 12 tourists+ the 4 guides) so it felt like an intimate but casual experience and not too big. We all got to see the dolphins! Just amazing would do again and again.

I’ve always seen 1-3 maybe 4 at most swim by before in a natural setting, they can’t guarantee sightings but we saw upwards of 10-15 at a time in the deep water approx 15 feet below us! They provided snorkels, fins, & life jackets and all you had to do was look down! Jump in when the staff said jump and immediately look down… they were everywhere & listening to them talk to one another was the icing on the cake!

It was amazing and great experience. All of the crew were so nice and friendly. Highly recommend. It was my daughter’s first time swimming with dolphins and turtles. She said this was her highlight of our week trip in Hawaii. Thank you to the talented crew!

An unforgettable and educational morning swimming and playing with 1 of the 6 Dolphins they have. The staff were great and the hour went by soooo fast as we had so much fun interacting with each other and with the dolphin.

The tour was cancelled due to dry dock of the catamaran. We were switched to another tour and we saw no turtles and barely any fish. I felt like I wasted my money.

What an amazing half-day experience! Swam with pilot whales, turtles, fish, and even saw spinner dolphins. Though it’s not a guarantee that you will see all these beautiful animals, the tour is well worth the price. The crew was friendly and you can tell that they thoroughly enjoyed their work. Steve and Juli are Perfectly bilingual (Japanese/English) tour guides and were thoroughly engaged with everyone. Our group was 20 people. You can purchase media content from Steve. The experience was full of awe and majesty. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who loves water activities and doesn’t experience seasickness.

Wasn’t sure what to expect with this tour, but we had an amazing time. We saw dolphins within five minutes of being on the boat. The crew did an excellent job of getting the boat in all the right places to see the dolphins from the boat as well as in the water. Jumping in the water and seeing the dolphins up close was incredible. We were able to get in the water four times and most people saw the dolphins at least twice. You definitely have to jump in quick and follow the crews prompts; otherwise you’ll miss the dolphins. The bus ride and food made for a great day.

Crew was friendly very informative told us where to look for dolphins food and drinks were great we got to jump off the boat saw pods of adult and baby dolphins drive up went smooth drive back also. Had lots of fun would recommend and plan to do it again in the future.

Really fabulous experience. The snorkels were in great condition unlike another your we did where the snorkels were broken. We found so many dolphins to see from the busy and I'm the water with snorkels and the tour operators were super professional, engaging, entertaining, thorough and clear with instructions and the whole day was delightful. This is a really fabulous adventure. I mean it. Do this excursion! Such a great experience. We lucked out with perfect weather and a calm sea. I don't normally get seasick and today I did. I still had a fabulous time despite my tummy rebelling and having to visit the side of the boat to throw up 3 too many times. I absolutely recommend this.

Know that you will be jumping off the boat while it is slowly moving and it will be rocking you have to keep some balance. It is a great experience and the crew did exactly what they said they searched until they found dolphins and we did find a lot it did take a little while though. The crew was fantastic and so helpful!!!
