4 of us booked this luau as an excursion with Princess cruise. What a total waste of money and disappointment. We waited over an hour in line for drinks that were included in the price and when we got to almost the end of the line an employee suddenly appeared to tell us we were in the wrong line. We had orange bracelets and he said this line was for green bracelets. There were no signs when we got in line nor any staff indicating which line to go to. The lines were long and it was a chaotic mess. Also, during our time in line many people with orange bracelets in front of us were being served. When we refused to get out of line, after an hour, the employee got very abusive. We told him we paid a lot of money for this excursion ($384pp) and we would miss dinner if we had to wait another hour in the long line he was directing us to. He said he didn't care, that this was his island and we shouldn't come back. This ruined the evening for us. If we weren't on a bus, we would have left. The food was served cafeteria style and was mediocre at best. The only good thing about it was the show, which we enjoyed. We did report this to the cruise line. Also, if anyone from Germaines reads this, please contact me if you want more information. This employee is not a good reflection on your business.
Was AMAZING! Loved every minute of it. Food was good also. The dancers were great. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
We had fun at the luau. It took a long time from when we got there until we were eating and enjoying the show. There were a couple things to do while waiting, but the lines were long. The food was good. The show was entertaining and the dancers did a great job.
Outstanding experience. We really enjoyed it.
It was ok, just not a Wow! The pig was very bland and we didn't finish ours because we kept crunching on dirt/sand. The show was ok but I think could've had more crowd interaction. Upon arrival there were multiple busses or vans and no clear directions on where to go or what to do first. Seating instructions weren't mentioned until you get to the wrong tables (color codes). There should be a closer pickup location near pier 2. The bus passes by that location anyway instead of having people walk 2 miles as we did or catch a ride into the city.
It was done in a timely manner. The entertainment and the narrator was great. The food was hot ready to serve. We had a great time. Thank you.
Purchased luau package with transportation- Roberts Hawaii bus was comfortable and driver was funny, friendly & professional. Photo is taken when you get to luau. Be prepared to stand in line awhile for a drink depending on when you get there. Buffet food was very good and entertaining show. Would recommend as pricing was decent compared to other luaus on the island if you don’t mind the 30 minute or so drive from Waikiki. It’s on the beach so wear appropriate footwear 😊
When driving to the event space it looked a little sketchy but when you park and walk in you are met with a beach view from the side, they will have you take pictures which are sale, you get a shell necklace if it's on your package, after you find your seating at your table which is either red, orange, or green tables, everything is from 5pm-8pm, you will have to wait in the bar line for a hour to get your drinks, wait until 7:45 if your orange table to get in line to get your dinner from the buffet, then wait until the actual show starts around 8:30pm, there's allot of down time, they had a show in the back to show how they cook the pig in the underground oven, but it was nothing special, this was my experience
Fantastic night . Good food , breathtaking view . Awesome show . Highly recommend to others . Mahola
Viator messed up our booking and Germaine’s luau had no record of us when we met the bus to the event. Fortunately they let us in anyway as I had proof of payment. The luau itself was disappointing. Nobody explained anything and so we had to work things out for ourselves. There were only three people working a bar for 600 people all wanting a drink at the same time and so we were in line for almost an hour. We didn’t get any food for 2 hours and there were no announcements as to what was going on. The food itself was actually decent and we got plenty. The show itself was ok once it got going but the woman acting as host was somewhat annoying and sounded more like a circus ringmaster and the whole thing had a bit of a Hollywood atmosphere. All in all it was a disappointing event.
Tour escort was amazing and friendly and very entertaining. Which was good since the traffic was … crazy lol. Food was tasty and entertainment was excellent. Staff at Lu’au were beyond friendly
What a time was had. The food, atmosphere and even the transportation to the event was amazing. I loved the hospitality and lively atmosphere. I definitely would recommend this as an activity to do. I mist say it was a long day, but i enjoyed every moment.
Great time as always. We have been a few times and the show keeps getting better. Look forward to our next one!
Awesome show. All the dancers were fantastic. Pork was very tasty. Poi was not a favorite. Chicken and beef were great as well. Great show.
I’m from Melbourne , Australia, and this was my third visit in 37 years and it still doesn’t disappoint. Our host, Cousin Bryce, was as amazing and engaging as the show. There are a lot of luaus in Honolulu but I’ll keep coming back.
My family thoroughly enjoyed Germaine’s Luau. Friendly staff, good food and great entertainment
Great experience. View was amazing, full experience of the culture and food hot and plentiful. Staff was very friendly And helpful
We got picked up a hour later then scheduled so it felt rushed when it was our time to go. I felt had we got there earlier we could have taken better pictures but it was late and dark and we missed the sunset and food was okay but not worth the price
Beautiful setting. Crowd was small for our event which made it more intimate. Bought the plumeria package which provide food delivered to our table and a take home gift. The show was excellent with dancing and a fire show. Would definitely recommend
Excellent, the show was great. The food was good. Everything is on point.. The time it was as the workers were great the service was fixed. I really enjoyed myself and we had a wonderful time at the Fan. Can’t wait to do it again..
The luau was very good, the food was good, the people working at the luau were really friendly, and the bus driver was very funny on the drive there and back.
In my own opinion, food was decent enough but not as expected. Programs (entertainment/dances) are excellent though.
Wonderful show wonderful people everyone was so nice. Food was not the best. Also, there were a lot of empty tables directly in front of the stage that could’ve been utilized for views.
Great experience, amazing performance, good food, beautiful scenery and enjoyed our time with family when we’ve gone…twice now.
Be ready to have a great time! You’ll be walking on sand so wear the proper shoes. The scenery is absolutely amazing. We had the pleasure of having a sea life visitor; a monk seal. The food was tasty and plenty of it. I Love that it was not a huge venue so you’ll be able to see the show no matter where you sit; I would say IF you are going to sit in the front please be mindful of the people sitting behind you and don’t stand up to record the show. Take plenty pictures, the sunset is gorgeous! The staff is very polite, courteous and knowledgeable. The show is interactive so don’t be shy.
It was a wonderful experience! I loved discovering Hawaiian culture, the traditional dances, the music, and the beautiful atmosphere. It was a great way to experience the spirit of Hawaii and create unforgettable memories. Mahalo! 🌺🤙
Beautiful spot for a Luau! Kind welcoming staff! Good was very good and all you could eat. Drinks were good.
With this being our first time to Hawaii, we were looking for a lu'au as close to the beach as we could get. The location is through an industrial park but once you arrive in the parking lot and walk to the entrance, you know you are stepping in to an experience you won't forget! We did the mid-level/orange package. We got two standard drink tickets while "premium" drinks are two tickets, one ticket and a few dollars, or cash altogether. The standard drinks were fine as we were there for the food and experience. There was tattoos with permanent marker for guests. My boys were all over it. They got "tribal tattoos" drawn on their forearms by hand. There is a gift shop that has some great hand made items but does close half way through the show. You can see the beach and sunset. The seating area consists of picnic tables and is sandy so we kicked off our shoes while eating/sitting. Live music was playing as guests came in. Real flowers were put together and placed in the women's hair for a small donation. The pig was removed from the ground just prior to dinner. The dinner was a buffet style and they serve in order of package purchased. The dinner and dessert were SO good! After everyone is served, there is a chance for seconds. The show was incredible. There was so much history displayed and performed during the performance while music was actually played by hand. My boys, 7 and 5, were captivated every time there was a performance on stage. At one point, they have women and children on stage learning to dance. Then the men! Anniversaries and birthdays are announced. From Germaine's Luau, I was more interested in the history of Hawaii than ever before. There is an opportunity to get photos with the dancers and our orange ticket provided us a souvenir that was a quality glass tiki! The night was complete before 8PM and my family and I are still talking about it.
Absolutely wonderful experience and beautiful show!! Shout out to Ben! Ben the guitarist/singer and our son hit it off and he was super nice!!! We were here 25 years ago at this show and now we brought our kids back at the same age I was when coming with my parents!
It was nice it was my 1st luau. They start you off with pictures, next a flower for your hair, then a tattoo, then your alcohol beverage. The band play music while were waiting. A few dance # comes out then we eat, food was good. Next some more dance routines, some crowd interactions , overall everything was nice i would recommend.
For the price the experience was very poor. Not organized at all. Also we took a picture with the parrots and nobody said they were closing at 7 pm by the time we went to get our picture the girl that was there was rude she was trying to get out of there. She was yelling at her boyfriend on the phone and swearing. It’s our first time in Hawaii and I really wanted the picture my family and I took with the birds. I would not go back. Disappointed because we spent a lot of money on this.
Pick up shuttle to Germaine’s Luau on Sunday 10/4/2026 made people really tired and unhappy. Shuttle had no sign, parked far away from Hyatt Regency on Koa so many guests didn’t know that is the right bus. Driver so lazy, didn’t spend a few minutes coming to the waiting station to call people. The show was poor. We attended the show many times but it’s almost the same thing.
Drive yourself and don’t take the bus. We arrived late due to add on passengers riding the bus so missed all information regarding the extra amenities, and felt rushed to complete our meal before the show started. They were collecting plates before we even got seated.
Loved my experience, the food and the performance. Highly recommend! My favorite was the view of the beach late at night.
Excellent all around Luau. Well ran, well ran bar with good selection of mixed drinks. The show was well done and entertaining. Don't worry about driving through an industrial area, the luau is on it's on beautiful property on the beach.
A cultural gem by the beach — Germaine’s Luau delivers exactly what a true Hawaiian experience should feel like. The whole night feels intentional: the dancers move with precision and pride, every step telling a story. You can see the effort poured into the costumes, from the vibrant fabrics to the traditional details that make each performance feel authentic. The presentation is polished, warm, and deeply rooted in Hawaiian culture. And the beachfront ambiance? Perfect. The ocean breeze, the sunset glow, the rhythm of the drums — it all comes together to create a luau that feels alive, immersive, and genuinely unforgettable. A beautiful blend of culture, dance, and atmosphere.
Have you ever laid in bed at night wondering what it would be like to live in a society that still had a caste system? Look no further. Germaine’s Luau offers this once-in-a-lifetime cultural experience for only a few hundred dollars. I just wish I had known beforehand that my social status for the evening would be determined by the ticket package I purchased. What an authentic experience! Jokes aside, I would have gladly paid for the upgraded Plumeria package if I had known the real benefits included eating at a reasonable time and not being banished to the outskirts of the venue. I don’t drink, and we didn’t need transportation, so we booked the basic package. Based on the advertised perks, upgrading didn’t seem worthwhile for us. What we didn’t know was that the basic package apparently also means you eat last and get seated at what I can only describe as the “untouchables” section. Our red table was already on the outskirts of the seating area, but what made it especially ridiculous was that there were FOUR completely empty tables between my family and the stage. Apparently, it was preferable to preserve those empty tables in pristine condition rather than move the peasants forward for a better view. The centrally located tables were “reserved,” so this wasn’t even a matter of arriving early. Your view is determined by your ticket tier. Then there’s dinner. The green Plumeria tables eat first. Then other groups go. Then, eventually, the villagers are summoned. We were there with a young child who spent roughly an hour telling us she was hungry while we patiently waited for our turn at the “all-you-can-eat buffet.” My first bite of food was at exactly 7:38 p.m. Nothing says family-friendly Hawaiian experience quite like paying hundreds of dollars to repeatedly explain to your hungry child that yes, technically, food is coming. Eventually. And “all you can eat” is doing some heavy lifting here. There was someone stationed behind the dried-out pork and beef teriyaki carefully rationing out tiny portions of their precious protein onto flimsy paper trays like we were receiving emergency provisions after a natural disaster. The food itself was mediocre at best. The timing was even better. By the time I finally got my food at 7:38, the sun had set and the show was starting, which meant the lights were turned down. So I got the privilege of shoveling my lukewarm buffet food into my mouth in near darkness while trying to watch the performance. Truly immersive. Some of the other “activities” were equally impressive. The henna tattoo station was a tattooed guy with Sharpies. I wish I were exaggerating. The parrot attraction was cute until you realized the real attraction was being asked to pay $20 for a photo. As for the location, don’t come expecting some dreamy beachfront Hawaiian sunset. The venue is in an industrial area near a scrap yard and a military installation, with a lighthouse nearby that really completes the tropical ambiance. Even better, the particular location seems almost perfectly positioned to avoid giving you much of a sunset view. I want to be clear about something: I’m not upset that they offer different ticket tiers. I understand premium seating, extra drinks, souvenirs, transportation, and other upgrades. If someone pays more, they should get more. My problem is transparency. If the Plumeria package had clearly said, “priority buffet access, earlier dinner service, and significantly better seating,” I would have happily paid the difference. Those things matter a lot more to a family with a young child than an extra drink or souvenir. Instead, you find out after arriving that the ticket tiers affect some of the most important parts of the experience. So if you’re considering Germaine’s, here’s the perk they should probably advertise more clearly: Plumeria Package: Better seats, earlier food, and temporary promotion out of the peasant class. Had I known, I would have upgraded
Great experience! LOVED the location, the show was amazing and the food was great! My husband even won the dance competition 😂
We went to the luau for my cousin's birthday. The weather was good, the food and show were good as well. We all enjoyed, most importantly my cousin enjoyed her birthday celebration. The performers were great dancers and put on a good show. I would recommend this luau.
Get ready for a great show, great food and a fun time! We’ve done other luaus in the past but Germaine’s luau definitely raised the bar.
Very well organized. Beautiful ocean view. Plenty of food. Fun entertainment. It started to rain just as it was ending. Take an umbrella.
Show was entertaining and food was delicious
The dancers were great the hostess was great the food was excellent. The location was out there but I felt like that added to the experience and atmosphere
Was very relaxing, great hospitality, well worth the show. Food was excellent, the vibe was amazing.
Good experience, the food was yumy and amazing!
Fun time! Great food and entertainment. We had a blast! We enjoyed the fresh flowers for our hair and pics with the parrots. The dancers were awesome and we even were able to get a photo with them afterwards.
We really enjoyed our evening at Germaines Luau. We went for the Plumeria package so had a table directly front & centre to the stage, were served our beautiful meal at the table (before being invited to the buffet stand for seconds, thirds …. 😂) and had the best seats in the house for the wonderful, colourful, vibrant show. The host/singer, band and traditional dances were all super talented and we enjoyed the atmosphere very much.
The food was delicious. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Every detail felt thoughtful. It's the kind of "party" that you leave already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!!!
it was very entertaining!! food was bomb! traditions on point!! the weather was perfect!! parking was ample and easy access.
