Lola was great. Very funny and knowledgable. Does a fantastic job combining serious history, politics, landmarks, random facts with humor and silliness. Kept everyone on time and laughing throughout the trip. Experience was great but wouldn’t be the same without Lola as our driver. Highly recommend her. Would prefer a kid-free option as unfortunately a crying baby throughout the trip does alter the experience.

Lola is an incredible tour guide..9 hour day tour but went so quickly and I never got sick of listening Lola..the best voice and shared so much local knowledge and history..I learnt so much about and saw so much of Hawaii..a must to get out of the main centre and see the island.. We had no experience at all!! We booked an half day island tour which was with the tour operator Star of Honolulu, we were given a pickup point and a time of 7.40am we arrived there 15 minutes early and waited, by 8.15am when no tour bus had arrived I tried contacting the tour operator by message and by phone a few times but without success. After waiting nearly an hour for the bus to arrive I contacted Viator via the help chat and received a response immediately after telling the representative that they had not turned up he tried contacting them several times as well and had no response. So we gave up and returned annoyed to our hotel and the representative authorised a full refund, as this was our last full day in Waikiki and on the island we were really looking forward to the island tour but we ended up disappointed to say the least and I have still not had any contact from the tour operator and a reason why they didn’t turn up never mind an apology!! I would say to anyone who is looking at booking a trip with Star of Honolulu to maybe think twice about it and maybe book with another tour operator as they have left us extremely disappointed and annoyed!!

Marlon did amazing finding us after site instructed us to meet at a different place. He was at our Hale Koe Hotel, but the site instructed us to meet at Hilton Hawaiian Village Grand Bus Depot.

We looked at several vendors. Truly happy we picked RoyalStar for our full-day island tour! Marlon is a wealth of knowledge and made the time between stops well spent. The Hawaiian language tips were great and the information at each stop allowed us to make the most of limited time. I highly recommend asking for Marlon if you get a chance to book the tour. He is a wonderful ambassador for Hawaii and RoyalStar!!

We are visiting from Calgary Canada. Our guide Marlon is awesome! He is very knowledgeable and friendly. When he shared his story about his dad and the coconut tree/his dad's old fishing place, it was so touching... I had tears in my eyes. I highly recommend and if you could choose your guide, choose Marlon!

Marlon is our guide and he is awesome. He knew so much about the island and was super nice and caring. We had such a great time on the tour. The 4 star for pickup is because our ticket pointed us to a different pickup location. Marlon called us and it was resolved fairly quickly by the operators.

Amazing Oahu full day tour with Marlon , he’s very friendly and fun made the 9 hrs felt short , his customer service was excellent and I would highly recommended going on a tour with him.

There was some confusion about pick up. The receipt said the bus would come 30 minutes before departure but it wasn’t just sitting there waiting for people. It was making rounds to pick up people so it didn’t get there until a few minutes before departure time. This is nothing to do with the driver, but more so the description of the pick up process. Pick up location was also confusing. The address to the hotel pick up was given but not the actual pick up location (behind the hotel on X and Y intersection). Other than the initial hiccup, the experience was great and I would recommend it as a way to get to know the island and its customs. Our driver and guide, Tony, offered us a delicious portuguese donut for breakfast. It was a poi flavor and so delicious. He also offered a bottle of water. He filled the inbetween time with stories, cultural explanations, funny jokes, and before we arrived at each location, there was a short video to offer background and history. He also gave us alot of tips about best places to buy things (which items were only offered there, or which stores had the cheaper prices for certain items). It helped us make informed decisions to stretch our budget. We appreciated the inside information. It is an efficient and relaxed way to get an idea of where you might want to go back and spend more time.

Tony was a great guide. Very funny and informative. He knew all the spots and gave us great tips. 10/10 tour!
