The food was yummy and loved the open bar. The show was nice although the rain forced the show indoors so we didn’t get the full experience of seeing a nice sunset in the background.

Itinerary
Te Au Moana, translated as the ocean tide, has always been a constant throughout Oceania, connecting our islands, peoples and generations. Our Polynesian ancestors traversed these oceans tides for ages and revered them for their life sustaining properties. Their stories, which spoke of their expert skills in fishing, gathering and voyaging demonstrated the tremendous depths of knowledge and respect they had to the Earth and its elements. As Hawaii’s premier entertainment company, Tihati Productions endeavors to bring these stories to life at “Te Au Moana: The Ocean Tide”. We invite you to dine as the ocean sits peacefully before you, as it has for thousands of years. We ask you to dance under the Maui skies; the moon and stars await you and we hope that you discover all the fascinating stories at “Te Au Moana: The Ocean Tide” a spectacular lu’au experience like no other!

Reviews
The show was very entertaining, we learned about the history of the islands. The dancers were great. The food, however, was very disappointing. Ahi tuna was good, the rest of the dishes, particularly the pork and chicken, were dry and tasteless. The “dessert” was some store-bought cookies, tiny, bland banana bread slices, and a bowl of fruit. Having a tip jar at the bar was tacky. Go for the show, not the food.
Plenty of very tasty food - appreciated the family style vs buffet set up, too! Show was absolutely amazing - wonderful music and super informative and entertaining.
Food was excellent and plenty of it. Appreciated that it was served family style vs buffet. Show was great... all the seats had a good view.
Pretty good food and entertainment, spectacular venue with the sun setting over the ocean! Something to splurge on once in awhile, wouldn’t do it on every trip to Maui.
The show although very good and different it was a bit underwhelming for the price. The dinner was a little bland and not colorful which added to the overall taste.
The service was alright from most of the staff. The show was a little long and repetitive. The food was pretty good — they brought us vegan and vegetarian options. Overall, very overpriced. Not enough experience for the amount spent. Especially when we don’t drink alcohol.
Great show, food, and a fabulous venue!
Beautiful setting , great story teller & unlimited cocktails. The path leading to the area has beautiful scenery. The food was good & plenty
The luau was okay, but definitely not one I would return to, especially for the price and constant stops throughout the show.. I remember when Hawaiian luaus featured incredible fire performances, with performers climbing trees, doing impressive stunts, and putting on exciting shows that kept you entertained throughout the evening. Kids would be engaged the entire show and this show the kids couldn’t stay engaged more than 5 minutes with the constant breaks and lack of show. Unfortunately, this experience fell short of those expectations. The fire show, which is usually the highlight of a luau for me, lasted only about five minutes! For the amount of money we paid, I expected a much longer and more impressive performance. It felt very overpriced for what was offered. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t deliver the wow factor I remember from previous Hawaiian luaus.
Beautiful area for the luau. The walk along the path was gorgeous. The food, drinks and the entertainment were all great!
Food was bland and overcooked. The family style is awkward because you’re with strangers. The show and performance was good but that was about it. Can’t see the sunset it gets blocked by the mountain. Pretty dissapointed and it’s wayyyy overpriced. 450!?! For 2 people to eat a plate lunch???? Not good.
Wonderful experience. People were wonderful. Food was amazing. Could have provided better quality alcohol for the price we paid. Show was great!
2nd time here, absolutely GREAT show!! Last time we had a buffet and enjoyed that much better then the course method this time. Quality of the food 7 years ago much better with more choices to pick from. Service was very good but food not as good.
Great food and a great show! Better than the other larger luau we did a few years back. Loved the history of Maui and the kids loved the fire dance!
The show was awesome. Right on the beach with the ocean back drop. The community tables add a great social touch. The performers were wonderful.
It was an amazing, well-organized experience from beginning to end. The entertainment was engaging and beautifully choreographed, and the performance was just the right length. The relaxed, welcoming atmosphere made the entire evening especially enjoyable. Although the family-style dining was a bit expensive, the food was good, and our group of six was the perfect size to enjoy the experience together. Despite the large crowd, everything moved smoothly and efficiently. The friendly, knowledgeable staff helped make the evening feel comfortable and well cared for. Relaxing in the garden area at the Wailea Marriott Resort after the event was the perfect way to end the evening. Overall, it was a memorable experience filled with enjoyable entertainment, good food, and a warm atmosphere.
Wonderful experience with good food and even better energy. The view and sunset are breathtaking while watching the dancers perform. This was absolutely worth it.
The oceanfront luau at the Marriott resort in Maui is so beautiful! The table settings, the food, the fresh lei, and the performance are all wonderful. It’s a truly unforgettable experience and a great night out.
We really enjoyed the show and food. They were very accommodating with my vegetarian meal request. I only wish they had iced lattes free of charge available since I needed some caffeine and don’t love soda or regular coffee. There was more than enough food to go around. You will get a real lei and are sat with new friends at a round table for a family style meal. We did a luau in Kauai that we enjoyed but liked the performers at this one more. It did feel more higher end. Parking is included. You can wander the grounds before and after the show. The only odd thing was the server said he would be available for photos but then was no where to be found and then he said the performers would be around after the show for photos but they never came out.
Best story telling Beautiful location Great cast, all the servers were fun and friendly. Highly recommend 10/10
It was amazing experience from location of show, parking. Dancers, food and service. The location was just right behind is ocean view. If you time is correctly, you will also able to capture glimpse of sunset.
This was my and my wife's first time in Maui. We did not know what to expect heading to the luau, and were very impressed. The Marriott was a great venue. The family style serving at the table avoided the buffet lines and the open bar was well staffed with friendly bartenders. The show was great. We are so glad we chose this venue and show.
Well worth the money. Luau keeps you entertained all throughout dinner and then the main show afterward. Open bar almost all night and family style dinner with way more food than we could ever eat. Hawaiian pulled pork, huli huli chicken, mahi mahi, beef - they had it all. The fire show at the end is the best part. The coordinator for the night did an excellent job telling the stories of the luau and the Hawaiian history as well as neighboring islands.
We had a fabulous time at the Luau. The food was incredible, as well as the drinks which were included in the price. The location and views were to die for. We travelled with our 22 month old, high chairs/boosters were provided, she happily ate the food provided, was amazed by the show, and had plenty of room to run around. I would absolutely recommend doing this to anyone. All the staff were so friendly, and could not have been more helpful.
This is a wonderful experience! The setting is spectacular, the entertainment was amazing and everything is included!
Good luck finding where to go and park. Address through GPS lead us 4 blocks away and guard knew that we needed help. So this wasn't anything new. Then there were absolutely no signs directing us where to park or where to go after we parked. After that, the show, dinner, and experience was awesome. I will definitely go again now that I know where to go.
I have attended at least 6 Luaus and thus one was mediocre. Food was not much to rave about and performances were OK but not fantastic. They had difficulty getting the audience to interact and did not get much excitement from the audience. We even left early before the show ended.
Really enjoyed our experience at the luau. The food was family style and it was delicious. They had crafts and activities for the kids. The drinks were included in the price. The entertainers were funny and super talented. They also had local artisans on site selling necklaces, bags, hair accessories and wooden carvings. The setting was beautiful overlooking the setting sun.
The location was absolutely beautiful and the show was phenomenal! The food was good and plentiful, service was very attentive. The service at the bar needs an upgrade 2 servers for about 300 people. Extremely slow took nearly 20 minutes to get 2 drinks.
Great show lots of traditional food and drinks. Sears were set up to make it enjoyable to watch the entire production.
Luau was great, lots of food and open bar. Show was wonderful. Location was dreamy. Show was a little longer than my 8&9 year old had an attention span for. We had to sit at a table with another family. That creates its own different dynamic which we couldn’t control fully.
It was amazing! I learned so much and the food and whole experience was so incredible! I would recommend it!
The culture, history, costumes, dancing, music, singing and food were all truly spectacular! I’m beyond happy that my wife and I got to witness this beautiful and fun experience with the sunset and ocean as a backdrop on our honeymoon. I highly recommend Te Au Moana to anyone seeking an unforgettable luau.
There was a little bit of rain after the food was served quickly and started early due to the weather and then after dessert every dance performance was cancelled due to the fact there was some rain and it had stopped after not even five minutes. The server didn’t take not that my husband and I were gluten and dairy free in his preparation notes. Luckily the server was able to figure something out last minute.
Honestly, this luau was nowhere near worth $200 per person. The food was cold, the drinks were disgusting, and the show itself was mediocre. The entire experience felt disorganized, and for the price we paid, we expected so much more. A luau should feel like a special Hawaiian experience, but instead, we left disappointed and feeling like we wasted our money. Unfortunately, I would not recommend Te Au Moana at this price point. The overall quality simply did not justify the cost.
We had a good time. Food was delicious and plentiful. Due to severe weather the entertainment was cut short.
It was the best time!!! Our 1 and 3 year olds loved the show and the food was incredible!!! It was well worth it!
It was an amazing luau. The location is beautiful with beach in the background. We got Lei garlands and flowers to put in our hair (4 girls). We celebrated two of our friend’s bday. The management did not help us secure a cake despite the heavy back and forth with management. They gave my friends cupcakes which I suppose was better than nothing. The food wasn’t super extravagant (more mediocre) but our server was absolutely a star. He took care of everyone’s needs and even got me vegetarian options. The dance performances were fun and of course, the fire dance was cherry on top. I’d definitely go back again. It’s an experience everyone must see in Hawaii.
Absolutely blown away by the Te Au Moana luau! The setting was stunning, located right on the water providing gorgeous views of the sunset. The open bar provided plenty of tropical drinks, and the food was served family-style and delicious. They acknowledged birthdays, honeymoons and anniversaries, which was a cute way to make people feel like they were celebrated. The highlight for us was definitely the dancing though. This luau incorporates many Polynesian cultures, which gave us the opportunity to learn and experience even more, including a fire dancing finale! The staff was friendly and attentive, the dancers were talented and overall, was the highlight of our time in Maui. Highly recommend!
Open-air event, well planned, not congested, and great performance area lighting. Food was well portioned, and a wonderful variety of island cuisine. I personally enjoyed the purple sweet potatoe with coconut syrup.
Food was not good and show was just OK Over priced! Bin to better Luaus! I would spend your money at Mama’s fish house!
The resort was lovely, the setting for the luau and the staff were incredible. I liked that the food was served family style rather than a buffet. We traveled from Lahaina to your place for that reason. It felt more like Ohana.
Great luau!! Personally I did not like much of the food, but that is a “me” problem and not the fault at all of the Luau company. The food was Hawaiian favorites and was plentiful, nicely served and had a big variety. The luau portion was excellent with skilled dancers and a host who told of the history of Hawaii in a great way. Would definitely recommend this company!
Outstanding performances, premium seating was well worth the additional price, meeting other people at our large table was fun, cocktails were too sweet. Overall, my friends and I enjoyed the experience and highly recommend!
Food were very small portions to share with 9 person, it was also very hot with no fan or cooling center
This luau was a rich cultural experience! The service and food were excellent! Eating family style was fantastic and we got to meet a lot of really nice people. The story of the islands and the people was excellent, I loved every minute! Highly recommended!
The service was excellent! He just kept bringing more food!!! The sunset was beautiful! The entertainment was well paced and very well performed. We all had a remarkable time!
Show was great but food was mediocre
Had so much fun meet new people and was educated all at the same time. It was kinda expensive but well with the money
