Ed was a wonderful tour operator. Not only was he very informative about the facts regarding the tour, he was very personable and engaged his guests in trivia and had us breaking the ice by introducing ourselves to each other.

There was heavy rain which ruined the trip. We asked if the tour was still scheduled despite the rain and we were told yes. Afterwards, I felt like they just wanted rhe money because they should have canceled the tour. They put our safety in jeopardy because there could have been mudslides. The tour consisted a lot of just pointing at waterfalls and trees. We didn’t get out of the van that much. I was rushed when I wanted to get a coconut drink. We had to eat our lunch in the van and it wasn’t very good and dry. No mayonnaise. Make sure to bring your own snacks and drinks as this is a very long day. I only ate half of my sandwich. The tour guide was very nice and she did the best she could with the rain. But we didn’t get to swim in any waterfalls and I sat in the van for an hour at the black sands beach because it rained so hard. Save your money and do the the drive by yourself. The road is not that bad.
Lisa was our guide. She was grateful helped everyone have a great time. Lots of good information. Very friendly
Our guide knew everything and everybody. She explained why we stopped at each stop. Gave plenty of notice of bathroom stops. The only issue was the van was too small for such a long and diverse trip. Should not have filled it to capacity with all adult. Maybe if some were smaller children, but it was squishy. Also all picture opportunities were on the right. Not great for all the people on the left hand side of bus. She did try to slow or stop on return.
This was a really cool day! Ed was a great tour guide and showed us some awesome spots! He made our rainy day trip super fun
Lisa was THE BEST tour guide I’ve ever had on any Viator trip. I felt very safe with her driving and she told the best stories. When there was something of interest to stop and look at, she would stop and take us there or if there was a scenic spot she would tell us when it was coming and take the picture because we had to move on. She was very enthusiastic and entertaining. Aloha sunshine was very easy to work with.
Lisa is DA BEST tour guide! I’ve taken many tours in different countries, and she is #1. She is kind, caring, and knows the road and locals well. She treats you like family and makes sure you have a memorable tour. Although the tour has a set number of stops, Lisa was willing to make several stops at local vendors. These stops included 3 different banana bread stands, a fruit stand, and ice cream. I appreciate not only her hospitality but her openness in sharing her love for the island with us. Forget all the other Road to Hana tours and take this one by Lisa!
Our Road to Hana tour with Lisa was an unforgettable experience! Her knowledge of the route, the plants, and the beautiful surroundings made the journey so much more meaningful. She shared so many interesting facts, along with personal insights and health tips that added such a thoughtful touch. Lisa, you bring a whole lot of vibes, warmth, and joy to your work! Your enthusiasm made us feel welcome and kept us engaged throughout the journey. It’s clear that you love what you do, and you do it from your heart. ❤️ We had an amazing time, and you were such a big part of what made it special. Thank you for the laughter, the knowledge, and the wonderful memories. Lisa, you are the best! I would wholeheartedly recommend a tour with you! 🌺
We had a fun time on the road to Hana. Lisa was a great guide and so informative. We would recommend this trip to everyone!
Great tour! Fun experience. Jason was a wonderful tour guide that provided lots of information on Maui an Hana. He took us to many roadside stands to taste banana bread, view handmade jewelry and other Hawaiian specialties. We saw many waterfalls and got great pictures. Very worthwhile trip with no time constraints. I highly recommend.
Lisa has a big fun personality. She is very knowledgable sharing interesting facts. And courteous with guest with limited mobility.
The 1 star has nothing to do with the tour guide who handled everything the best he could and everything to do with the tour company. If I could give the tour company a -10 stars I would. First we get picked up in a small transit van and as we are the only party of 4 and most other seats are taken we end up in the way back of the van in an area not designed to fit 4 adults! So we end up crammed like sardines with our knees shoved again the seats in front of us which aggravates my knees that both have had knee replacements for over 9 hours! Seriously Aloha Sunshine Tours, if you are going to sell out a tour buy a bigger van!!!!where adults can fit comfortably!! I cant imagine 4 strangers having to sit that way! Then one passenger ends up vomiting 60% of the trip in and out of the van which leaves the van smelling like vomit for most of the trip. Then we find out after we leave the stop early where we were supposed to spend an extended time time that when the driver stopped to pick up our lunch sandwiches before we headed up to Hana in the morning that the place never received the lunch order from tour company, so no sandwiches... Instead the driver had to get us lunch at a roadside stand consisting a small piece of chicken, very dry rice and frozen vegetables. I think we would have all preferred the sandwiches. Too bad someone at the tour company didn't confirm our lunch order for them was received. We never stopped in Hana to look at anything just drove thru a parking lot. So our stops to purchase anything consisted of a quick stop at Halfway to Hana, and the small place when we stopped to get the chicken in the pouring rain. We did get to see waterfalls, majority being drive-by. I will never book with this tour company again! What a waste of $1000.
Amazing, just do it. Everywhere you look it looks like a postcard. Lisa was great and did a great job with her history and story telling.
Loved every single moment!!!!if you go make sure you get Derek!!!he was amazing!!!from start to finish
Good overall , they dont do the tours entirely around the mountain like they did in Maui years ago. We found out that as we boarded the van.
This is a great experience! Lisa was an amazing tour guide! As a solo traveler it was so great to have someone else navigating this twisty windy road, as well as educating you along the way with Hawaiian history. So many beautiful photo opportunities and great little road side stands. Lisa does such an amazing job of making sure you had a great time experience!
Our tour was fantastic. Our driver, Ed, was an excellent tour guide through this very hard to navigate, Road to Hana. He had lots of cool things to point out. Plenty of stops to experience different things. It's a long tour, and it comes with the tour. The sandwhiches were fresh, and the meat was plentiful. Don't miss this tour.
Fun day. Beautiful sights. Loved being able to just relax and enjoy the ride and take lots of photos!
Lisa was very friendly and like family. She made the trip fun and provided so much information on the history of the area. She also made several stops for bathroom breaks and to stop at stands. It was an awesome experience.
I hope anyone who takes this tour is lucky enough to get Lisa as their guide. So fun! We joked and called it the “food tour”. Lisa was so knowledgeable about plants and trees, landmarks, waterfalls, and folklore. She was open to whatever our group wanted to see. She offered to stop anywhere we asked and, bonus, bathroom breaks when we needed them! She kept us well fed by stopping at road side stands along the way. So well fed that on the way home we all passed on stopping at other places 🤣. She was comfortable and confident navigating the road to Hana. I was grateful that I did not have to drive that road. So crazy! I have so many wonderful pictures from this tour. Well worth the money and time.
If you’re considering booking a Road to Hana tour while visiting Maui, I highly recommend it! We had a wonderful time, and our tour guide, Lisa, was absolutely amazing! She was knowledgeable, insightful, friendly, and passionate about sharing the beauty, history, and culture of Hawaii. Our group included 13 people, including three teenagers, and Lisa did an outstanding job catering to everyone’s interests and expectations. She made sure everyone felt included and engaged, creating an enjoyable experience for the entire group. Her knowledge and personality truly made the journey special! A few things future travelers should know: The Road to Hana is about enjoying the journey just as much as the destination. Be prepared for winding roads, beautiful scenery, and plenty of memorable sights along the way. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, bring water, and consider motion sickness remedies if you’re sensitive to curves. Most importantly, come with an open mind, a sense of adventure, and a willingness to enjoy the experience. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and Lisa was a huge part of what made it so memorable. If you’re looking for a tour guide who is knowledgeable, personable, and attentive to her guests, Lisa is the one! You won’t just see Maui’s beauty—you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the island along the way. Mahalo, Lisa, for such a memorable Road to Hana adventure! 🌺🤙🏾
Great day trip. Was going to drive myself but you can't see the views when ur driving. We'll worth having the guide w the history and culture. Jason was greay provided cultural information and was on time. Provided a great Playlist throughout the day and answered any questions u had. Some guide provide too much information and at the end of a long trip can leave me w a headache from the nonstop information. Jason is cool calm and provides just the right amount of info. Great stops the last was actually my favorite for photos. Lunch was delicious I liked ite sprouts on the turkey and fresh bread. Plenty of food to be had on the way no need to even bring breakfast as people say. Popsicles at the farm stand were also fab.
It was awesome! Seeing how the people live and the culture was great. Lisa our tour guide knew so much.
Derrick our tour guide was great! A very knowledgeable man! He delivered all the information great! Highly recommended!
Road to Hāna was amazing. The views were breathtaking. It was a pleasure having Lisa as our tour guide.
Lisa was our guide and she was exceptional. Pick up was on time and was present throughout our whole tour. Very knowledgeable and even gave recommendations on what to do, see and eat on the island of Maui. Definitely would recommend the company and her as a tour guide! Thank You Lisa!
We had the most amazing experience on our **Road to Hana tour**, and we truly have our incredible tour guide, **Lisa**, to thank for making it so special! From the moment we met her, Lisa was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. She made us feel like we weren’t just guests on a tour, she made us feel like **family**. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, happy, and enjoying every single moment of our day. Lisa was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much fascinating information about Maui, its history, culture, and all of the beautiful places we visited along the way.You could truly tell how passionate she is about Maui and how much she loves sharing the island with others. She was also incredibly accommodating and attentive to everything we needed. She made sure we were comfortable, checked on us throughout the entire day, and made us feel so well taken care of.?Her kindness and personality made the entire experience feel so personal, honestly, it felt like we were spending the day with a friend who just happened to know everything about Maui! The Road to Hana is absolutely beautiful, but having Lisa as our guide made the experience **even more unforgettable**. She made us feel right at home and created such a fun, relaxed, and welcoming atmosphere. We are so grateful that we got to experience this incredible day with Lisa.,She helped make our honeymoon even more memorable, and we will always remember her kindness, warmth, and hospitality. **If you’re thinking about booking this tour, DO IT! And if you’re lucky enough to have Lisa as your guide, you are in for something truly special
The tour road of Hana and waterfall in Maui was and funny tour . The guide Jason was excellent and explicit everything about the route , we recommend 100% that tour wiht trivapsor , thank you Jason so much
Lisa was enjoyable, Knowledgeable and entertaining! Good driving skills, she used a microphone for all to hear.
Enjoyed. Hope we had more stops and had a visit to garden. Feels lukewarm we were rushing. Driver was good, he has to point the objects while vehicle was moving at 10 to 15 miles by the time we try to locate, we miss it.
We had the best time while getting to explore/ learn so much on the way to Hana! Definitely recommend!
This was a great way to see the island of Maui and to hear its history and about its culture. It does make for a full day but well worth it. I would have to say our tour guide, Jason is the best. He is from Hana and grew up on the island, so he is very knowledgeable about the history, culture, area, and so many things in between. He made this day amazing! If you get a chance to choose a guide, definitely pick Jason.
Not bad. Some places are I tight but if you drive carefully not too fast, you’ll be fine.
The was a great tour. Lisa was our driver. She was so fun and made extra stops and were able to see places we had not seen. Banana bread, coconuts and chocolate farms. Long day but sp worth it.
I had a very bad experience with this tour agency. We booked a Road to Hana tour, and the guide we were assigned to, Elizabeth, was extremely rude and unprofessional. After picking us up from our hotel, while she was driving to pick up the other guests, she appeared to be unsure of the pickup location and was driving very aggressively, repeatedly accelerating and braking abruptly. About 50 km after picking us up from our hotel, she told us that she was sending us with someone else because she was the driver and that was her decision, even though there were still 4 empty seats in the minibus. We asked her for an explanation, but the only response we received was: “You have bad vibes.” She refused to introduce herself and refused to clarify the situation or explain why we were being transferred to another guide. The entire situation was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional, especially considering that we had booked and paid for a full-day tour and had done nothing to justify this kind of treatment.
A long day, but totally worth the time for sure. The lunch was good, our guide Ed was funny and full of information and the stops were gorgeous.
Don't try this on your own. Reserve a tour so you can relax and enjoy the view Plan for rain and hope for sunshine. We enjoyed both.
Most informative! I learned a lot of information not only about Maui but all of the Hawaiian Islands.
Overall this was an enjoyable experience and met our expectations. We enjoyed the waterfall swimming and black sand beach a lot! Our guide Marc was also very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. We only wish we had more time at the beach and that lunch could have been a separate stop instead of combined with the beach. Also, we didn't realize that the start time can vary based on where your pickup location is - that isn't clearly stated.
Lisa was our driver/guide and was great! She was very knowledgeable about the area and also the very winding narrow road on the Road to Hana. We had a great day seeing the beauty of this island.
Great tour long but so worth the time. So beautiful and wonderful service Ed was amazing 👍👍👍👍👍😄👍👍👍
If you don't want to drive and wanted to go to Hana take a tour with Aloha Sunshine. Lisa was our tour guide. She was amazing tour guide and made the tour memorable.
Our driver Jason was awesome and hit all the hot spots. It made us enjoy the trip more because he played a lot of island reggae! We had plenty of time w/ each stop. I chose to jump pua’a ka’a and it was killer!!!!
Lisa was entertaining and informative along the tour. Stops were interesting and some stops had tasty eats. Though not everything was done on the tour due to weather it was enjoyable.
Maluhia was an amazing guide. She was knowledgeable, kind and an all around wonderful person. The places we visited were well explained and by starting early, we missed the crowds that came later on.
Had the best time! Jason, our tour guide was awesome! We would highly recommend if he’s available. We learned so much about the culture, island, and agriculture. The sites were some of the most beautiful in the world. We would definitely do it again!
We had an amazing experience. Derreck treated us like his own family. Very knowledgeable about the history and known to people we meet in Hana. Absolutely recommended.
If you want to experience the road to Hāna without the stress and hassle this is the way to go! You get to see all of the most important stops, hear all of the amazing facts about Hawaii, while also getting to enjoy the view of the ride and being more safe as you aren’t driving! Jason was absolutely an amazing tour guide: hilarious jokes and also very knowledgeable about the Hawaiian culture, history, and geography. He went above and beyond, you can tell he really wants to give you a good experience. He even gave us great tips on food and things to do around the area we were staying in, and music! Absolutely loved the trip, and would definitely do it again if that meant Jason was our guide.
We had a very pleasant experience. Our driver Ed was very personable and knowledgeable. RTH is a very long trip, so it was nice to have a friendly driver to help us pass the time. Ed asked all of us what we wanted to see the most so we all could have a great experience.
Unfortunately, I would not recommend this tour. Everything felt very rushed, even the bathroom breaks. I would have preferred fewer stops and more time at the waterfalls to actually enjoy the scenery and experience. With so many curves on the Road to Hana, the drive can make you dizzy, so constantly rushing from one stop to another made it less enjoyable. We were only given one bottle of water for the entire trip, and the sandwich was terrible. The driver talked almost nonstop, but the commentary became boring and I actually fell asleep. He also didn’t seem very attentive to how the passengers were feeling. For such a long tour, I expected better food, more water, more attention to the passengers, and more time to enjoy the best stops.
