We had a truly magical day on The Road to Hana tour with Eric as our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and shared a ton of history with us. He knew all the great places to stop and got us safely to and back from Hana. I would not have wanted to do that drive, so I’m very grateful that tours like this exist. It was truly a relaxing day not having to worry about anything but taking in the amazing views and enjoying good company and good food. The Black Sand beach, waterfalls, and Hana farms were highlights of the day for me.

The combination of world-class windsurfing action, magnificent turtle viewing opportunities, and breathtaking natural beauty makes Ho'okipa Beach Park an essential highlight of any Road to Hana tour, perfectly embodying the natural wonder and adventure spirit that makes this legendary Road to Hana journey so unforgettable.
Along your Road to Hana journey, you'll witness spectacular waterfall walls , creating breathtaking natural displays that showcase Maui's incredible rainfall and tropical beauty. These stunning roadside waterfall features become especially magnificent after heavy rains, when multiple streams transform rock walls into flowing curtains of water that demonstrate the raw power and beauty of Maui's rainforest environment. These impressive waterfall walls along the Road to Hana offer incredible photo opportunities and remind visitors why this legendary coastal drive is considered one of the world's most scenic waterfall adventures.
One of the most breathtaking Maui vacation highlights along your Road to Hana adventure is the stunning Rainbow Eucalyptus forest, where nature creates its own masterpiece through trees with extraordinary multicolored bark that naturally peels to reveal vibrant layers of green, orange, red, purple, and yellow. Located near mile marker 7, this spectacular "Painted Forest" is a must do on Maui photo opportunity that you'll experience right from your vehicle window as we cruise along the Hana Highway, offering incredible roadside views of these Southeast Asian trees that have thrived in Maui's tropical rainforest climate. This stunning bamboo forest displays incredibly dense bamboo growth reaching skyward to form an otherworldly green tunnel, demonstrating how perfectly these plants have adapted to Maui's tropical rainforest climate. As you pass this magnificent bamboo forest along the Road to Hana, you'll experience one of nature's most impressive displays of how constant moisture and rich volcanic soil create perfect conditions for these remarkable bamboo groves to flourish.
The dramatic Keanae Peninsula represents a true Maui vacation highlight and must experience on Maui, where a spectacular half-mile finger of ancient lava extends into the Pacific Ocean, creating one of the most scenic and culturally significant stops along your Road to Hana journey. This authentic Hawaiian village showcases traditional taro fields still cultivated by local families, offering visitors a rare glimpse into genuine Hawaiian rural island life that has remained unchanged for generations. As you explore the peninsula, you'll discover the historic Lanakila Ihiihi O Iehova O na Kaua Congregational Church built in 1860, surrounded by dramatic black lava rock formations and flourishing taro fields that demonstrate the deep connection between Hawaiian culture and the land, making this Road to Hana stop an essential cultural and scenic experience that captures the true spirit of old Hawaii. Great way to experience Road to Hana without worrying about the drive! Chad was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Several scenic stops along the way and a wonderful farm to table lunch. Highly recommend!
It was amazing 🤩 trip thanks to our tour guide Eric very knowledgeable
Awesome experience It is well worth it - not having to worry about trying to drive the road and take in the scenery. Our guide Shelly was so great - she is a native of Hawaii and it makes a huge impact on hearing her stories and childhood experiences Plenty of snacks along the way. Lunch was great enjoyed the pork dish. The Mercedes van was super comfortable - take a sweater gets a little cold but tolerable. We sat in the very back - could hear Shelly very well because she used a mic. Would recommend to have snack containers strapped down - they moved too much and was a little annoying. Overall great experience
Such a great day!! There was sunshine, rain, good food, good music and good people. Our tour guide Shelley knows the road to Hana like the back of her hand. The history of Hana was so interesting and the scenery to the black beaches are beautiful
What can I say about our tour guide, Ray? He was absolutely AMAZING! 🙌🏾 Ray gave us so much more than a tour—he took us on an unforgettable journey through history, culture, and the rich heritage of the people and the land. His knowledge, passion, and genuine love for sharing these stories made the entire experience that much more meaningful. My husband Andre and I couldn’t be more grateful for the time, wisdom, and heartfelt dedication he poured into us today. It was more than sightseeing; it was an opportunity to learn, appreciate, and walk away with a deeper understanding of the culture. Ray, THANK YOU! 🫶🏾 Thank you for giving so freely of yourself, your knowledge, and your heart. We pray that God pours abundant blessings over your life, just as you poured so much into ours today. An experience we won’t soon forget! 🌺❤️
Eric was an exceptional guide, and we highly recommend the far to table Road to Hāna tour. He was knowledgeable, accommodating, and truly made the experience special. The music playlist and food along the way was amazing. Communication before the trip was thorough and thoughtful, so we knew exactly what to expect. Pickup from our location was an unexpected and much appreciated bonus, and it was a pleasure to meet Bryan as well. Thank you for such a memorable day.
Eric was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable on the history of the area and was quick to point out various things along the way. He gave us the opportunity to stop at many different spots on the journey. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another tour from this company. Mahalo
If you’re planning to do the Road to Hana, I highly recommend taking a guided tour! Driving it yourself might be more than you expect, especially with the stress of navigating narrow roads and finding parking along the way. Eric with Aloha Eco Adventures did an exceptional job with our tour. He made sure our group had the opportunity to see and do everything we wanted, while sharing his extensive knowledge of Hawaiian history. We saw sea turtles, swam underneath a waterfall, and my wife even got to jump from the top of the waterfall into the lagoon with Eric’s help! We also stopped at several local shops for banana bread, chocolates, coffee, and other Hawaiian delicacies. Eric took his time and made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. I would 100% recommend Aloha Eco Adventures—ask for Eric, and you’ll be in great hands!
A well-managed and enjoyable experience. Bryan was a fine guide. Lots of good stories and helpful information. Lots of stops, including for banana bread and a Hawaii plate lunch. Plenty of snacks and drinks in the van too so we never wanted for anything.
Shelly was the best driver and tour guide. Thought it was raining, we were still able to safely get to Hana and back.
Ray picked us up very close to our lodging after calling to confirm we would be there on time. His knowledge of local history, language, and culture was fascinating and his driving skills were outstanding! The farm-to-table lunch was excellent, and there were plenty of snacks and water available. Extra stops to see sea turtles (25-30 on the beach) and shave ice were greatly appreciated. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Eric was excellent, knowledgeable, energetic, and caring for the entire group. Because of him we were able to experience things we would have missed (like swimming at a waterfall and cliff jumping) without him.
My husband and I had an absolutely amazing time on this trip! Bryan, our guide, was amazing. So knowledgable about the culture and the island. It was lovely to see his interactions with local vendors, everyone was so lovely! Also, loved the playlist he had on in the van! The trip itself was brilliant, so many great stops! The food was also brilliant. I am gluten and lactose intolerant and they catered for this very well. All in all, a brilliant trip and well worth the money!
Eric was a great tour guide & provided a lot of historical information on the Islands. The stops were great including a waterfall swim stop. A negative was the lunch. Our pork & another couples brisket selection was not good. Deli sandwiches would’ve been far preferred. Some Seats are 3 across so if a couple you may not be seated together & the middle seat doesn’t have a great view.
We highly recommend this tour! Our tour guide, Eric, was impeccable. He has a wealth of Island historical knowledge and shared it in a fun way. He not only regaled us with his stories, he can drive, too!!! Eric made sure we were in a position to get the absolute best from our experience. The only negative comment I have about the tour is the food. It failed to meet our expectations. My husband had beef and I had pork, neither of which was appetizing. With that said, it did not take away from our experience, just gave us a good reason to eat more banana bread and help ourselves to the abundant snacks in the back of the van. Mahalo, Eric, for sharing your island with us. It is very obvious that you enjoy what you do.
Ray was very knowledgeable and friendly! He shared a lot of great history about Maui and the Hawaiian culture throughout our trip. He was also an expert at driving the road to Hana and knew all the best spots to stop and take pictures. He made it a very fun trip for my family and I. The black sands beach was the highlight of our trip and lunch was really good afterwards. I would recommend to others thinking about taking this trip!
Fabulous fantastic wow! It was the best tour ever! Would definitely do it again. Eric are driver was excellent very informative and interesting. Thanks to Chad for picking us up and getting us to the meet up location! We’ve told everyone we’ve met how wonderful the tour of Road to Hanna was!
Eric went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time. He is super kind, knowledgeable, and overly accommodating. Consider yourself lucky if he is your tour guide.
The long Road to Hana was paved with plenty of snacks, a great lunch, and beauty thanks to our knowledgeable, warm, and informative guide, Eric!
The Road to Hana trip with guide, Eric, was a wonderful experience! It’s a must-see part of a trip to Maui!!! Navigating the winding roads was ever so much more enjoyable with an experienced guide. Eric was a great communicator; shared interesting stories about Hana, the plant life, and Maui; knew all the best places to stop along the route; and was extremely helpful. Thank you Eric and Aloha Eco Adventures - we loved every minute!
The iandscrape and history was wonderful, and beautiful. it is hard to describe. a beautiful trip worth it.
In case you needed our feedback. Our experience wasn’t exactly as expected. The driver was horrible for following reasons The driver/ guide was late and called me after the window of stated pickup time indicating he will be there later When other company had picked us up by mistake. He stated “ have a good time”. It was the other company Driver, who arranged for swap he didn’t really want to help. We were yelled at for being in the bus too early. He made us feel awkward in the bus. I also know nothing will happen. No changes, but I will put this review online. After spending this much money all tour company ask for tips for doing their job. Again to our companies, think we have endless amount of funds. Even after stressful experience
We had an amazing tour with Ray. He is so knowledgeable and his love of Maui really shows. We saw all the best spots and were provided with a great meal and plenty of drinks and snacks. He takes great care of his guests. Thank you grandma!
Best tour guide ever - Ray was beyond amazing! What a gem! Thank you!
My husband and I really enjoyed our Road to Hana tour today with Chad. He is a truly pleasant and engaging tour leader with lots of knowledge to share about the local area. He is clearly a capable driver too. Swimming at the black sand beach in Hana was a highlight for me. The water was so beautiful and refreshing. The banana bread at Aunty Sandy’s was crazy good. Lunch at the farm was very good too. The only caution I have is that the back two rows of the van are a bit tight on leg room. As the last pickup of the morning, we got the last two available seats. If you are a tall person, you really need to be sitting in the front row. I’m not tall and my knees were right up on the seat in front of me.
We had a fantastic Road to Hana tour with Eric! He was knowledgeable about Maui’s history, punctual, and never rushed us. We had plenty of time to enjoy the views, swim, and explore. Lunch was one of the best meals we’ve had on Maui! Highly recommend Eric and this tour!
This was amazing and a great way to see the entire island. Eric was our guide and we were lucky to have him. Super nice guy, knowledgeable, and flexible. Gave us some many options for stops and always helped us find the best views for photos. Great way to spend the day and we would highly recommended this tour. We saw other tours and could tell we made the right choice with this company. Comfortable Mercedes van with lots of room and comfortable seats.
We had a wonderful time! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, humorous and made sure everyone was happy.
Tripadvisor labels this service as Private, it is not. Wailae is on the south side of the island, not west. Bryan, was informative and great conversationalist. He knew where to go and when, he is also great with children. During our Road to Hana tour, Bryan mentioned stories of the island and a man who built the first resort in Hana that still stands today. Lunch was included in the cost, we chose the Hula Pork, Beef dish and Jackfruit chili. The jackfruit chili was delicious. Ooh, before I forget, you can request a car seat. We stopped at many places on the Road to Hana, including the famous banana bread spot where the loaf is served warm. There were plenty of snacks and beverages to choose from during the ride. We stopped at Glenn’s Ice cream and had delicious coconut ice cream and coconut water straight from the nut. There was also an adorable kitten at the ice cream spot. The state park is super cool, you get to walk along a lava beach where the beach is made up of black pebbles. During out time on the beach, I quickly learned a second pair of schools would have been helpful, the tide was quite high and soaked our feet. On our way back down the mountain we stopped at the waterfall where you can swim. We opted not to, due to forgetting towels. I think the tour is great, worth the value. Request Bryan, he’s cool.
The road to Hana adventure was excellent! Chad was a great driver and commentator throughout the very long day. Every stop we made gave us beautiful scenery in history of the island. I would say the only recommendation would be maybe to have the Driver have some sort of a microphone because we were in the back row of the van and it was hard to hear him at times. The farmed table lunch at Hana Farm was extremely tasty and plentiful. Love eating local wherever we travel. Overall, the day was great and it was so nice to let someone else do the driving!!!
Eric is as very good as driver. We were very pleased with all of his knowledge.
The Road to Hana tour was one of the highlights of our time on Maui. Chad was fun, knowledgeable, and an excellent driver. We have several stops along the way to see outstanding views and learn more about this amazing place. I'm so glad we took this trip and didn't drive it ourselves!
This was one of the most amazing experiences we’ve had while traveling. 1: the Mercedes Sprinter was comfortable, clean and perfect for this experience. 2: our guide Chase was phenomenal- welcoming, polite, professional and a brilliant. He knew absolutely everything about his Hawaiian culture, the ecosystem, plants, tree, the Hana route. His play list was compiled with such care to feel inclusive of everyone. 3: the experience, route, the lunch, local stops.. all added to the magic of this experience. This is a must do.. this is the perfect tour to book!
It was a memorable day. I did not want to drive it alone - so I was happy to join a group and be able to relax and enjoy the scenery. Our guide was well versed in local lore, plants, and an excellent driver as well. I was worried about car sickness but took a dramamine and the ride in a new, beautiful vehicle was very smooth. The trip was well planned with adequate time at each stop and I enjoyed the lunch and sweet farm. Use the bug spray! Pick up and drop off was easy. I'm not a huge "tour" person but this was worth it!
My mother , sister, and myself took the Road to Hana tour with the farm to table lunch on September 7, 2026 (Labor Day), From start to finish the day could not have gone better . We were picked up on time from our west side hotel and transported to meet a larger group to start the road to Hana . From the beginning our guide Eric was fantastic . He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Maui and the journey to Hana. We learned so much on the journey and left with a deeper understanding of the people and the land . The views were amazing . Pictures don’t do it justice. The lunch was great . The spot you stop to eat in was authentically Maui ! There were plenty of snacks and drinks along the way. We never felt rushed at the stops we made. Eric made sure we had plenty of time to look around and take pictures ! The last stop on the tour we saw huge sea turtles taking a break on the beach , and enjoyed watching some surfers ride the waves . 10/10 recommend this tour and hopefully you will get in Eric’s group as he is hands down an amazing guide !
Eric was an amazing tour guide!
Eric was amazing. He shared his expertise related to our journey to Hana with enthusiasm and insight. Eric was very attentive to the needs of our group and made it a point to be flexible .
Kristy was our tour guide. She did an excellent job. She made the 10 hour excursion very enjoyable from the music she played in the van to the stories she told. She was a very skillful driver which was very appreciated considering the curving road. No one our van got sick. YEAH! The farm to table lunch was exceptional. The meat fell off the bone and the hibiscus tea was very enjoyable. I know there are cheaper tours out there but I would highly recommend this tour.
Great tour with a fantastic lunch. I’ve drive the Road to Hana once myself but it was absolutely more enjoyable having a skilled guide drive this time. The ride was very smooth in the Mercedes van. The guide was “choke” full of knowledge she shared along the way. The food at both the banana bread stop and lunch was amazing. & you can tell this is a company who wants to provide a great guest experience and treats their guides well.
This tour is a must for anyone visiting Maui or Hawaii for the first time. Our tour guide Chad was a blast and so knowledgeable about the culture. His connection with the locals gave us opportunities to sample and buy food, art, and jewelry unique to the region. You’ll leave with a breadth of knowledge and love for the land, the people, and the spirit of Aloha!
This was my second time doing the Road to Hana tour, and it was just as amazing as the first! Eric was an incredible tour guide full of energy, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. He went above and beyond to make sure each of us had the best experience possible. The scenery was beautiful and breathtaking. I would definitely recommend this tour, and if you get Eric as your guide, you’re in for a great experience!
Eric was the man!! He was so personable and knowledgeable and made our Road to Hana experience so amazing and unforgettable!! The sights were so beautiful and each stop along the way was more beautiful than the last!! Definitely recommend this tour and Eric as your driver if you going to Maui!!
Kristy was our tour guide and she was very prompt at picking us up from our hotel. The van was very comfortable, spacious, and had blasting AC. They had ample snacks and drinks provided for us throughout the day. She is very knowledgeable and an excellent driver. We all felt super safe! She provided us with so much history and fun facts throughout the day. The highlight was the black sand beach and the farm to table lunch where you got to select your own plate. The food was delicious, We also got to stop for amazing banana bread and could buy our own specialty drinks along the way. It was an awesome day trip, despite the weather being a little extra cloudy. Would definitely recommend. :)
We had an incredible time with our driver and guide Eric during our Road to Hana tour. It took a few minutes into the ride to know we were in good hands for the next several hours. Eric was very friendly and accommodating, and clearly knew what he was doing when it came to driving and maximizing our stops. The car was spacious and air conditioned, and snacks and drinks were provided for us. The lunch that came with the booking was also very good. A few notes for people considering: -We lucked out with the weather, so the day was definitely more enjoyable because of that -If you have motion sickness, this trip is probably not for you. A lot of driving and windy roads during the trip. -Depending on when you get picked up, there is a chance it won't work out that you can sit next to who you come with. This didn't happen for us, but it did for two couples on our trip, so if this would be a problem for you, maybe call in advance to see the likelihood of that happening to you based on pickup time/order. Overall, this was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend Aloha Eco Adventures, and particularly Eric as a tour guide.
We chose a guided tour with just our family of 9 ranging in age 13-70. Eric, our tour guide was excellent. His ongoing narrative was not only informative but entertaining. He has unique knowledge of the area and gave us options as to where to spend more or less time. The farm to table lunch was perfect. This tour allowed us to truly enjoy the experience without the stress of driving ourselves.
Unbelievable experience. Our driver, Eric, was so knowledgeable, courteous, helpful, slowed to help us get the best photos, had a great playlist, snacks & drinks. He made sure everyone was happy and we were! The lunch was so delicious and filling. Worth the money to learn all we did from him and sit back and enjoy the ride. We especially liked that we were picked up at our resort and didn’t have to drive some unfamiliar place to meet up with him.
The Road to Hana experience was wonderful due to our extremely knowledgeable and personable guide Bryan. He really made the trip memorable! It’s a beautiful drive but having the wealth of information, history, culture to add-on during the trip made it a valuable experience. Fee was reasonable; drive / day is a long one for sure but the nice Mercedes Van, size of group, tour guide, snacks along the way, many restroom stops, made the long day pleasant. 2nd time I’ve done this trip. This company was 100% better. Try and get Bryan as the tour guide
The rainforest is beautiful. Our driver /guide Christine was informative, funny and a great driver. The ride was comfortable and we had many great photo op stops.
What a great day we had with our guide Christy! She was so knowledgeable about the plants and the Hawaiian people. We laughed and listened to great music. We had a great lunch at Hana Farms and made some great stops! Great photos ops.
