Maui Snorkeling Adventure From Ma'alaea Harbor To Molokini

Had a wonderful time! The entire crew was so friendly and helpful. I didn’t know how to swim well but they made me so comfortable getting in water with so many attentive lifeguards in the water. Snorkeling was so easy with the floater belt ,noodle and excellent fitting snorkel gear. We saw lots of fish at Molokini and then I saw 2 turtles at the second stop. It was a bonus to see an entire pod of spinner dolphins on our way there!! Such a nice group would recommend doing this am trip on a nice calm day.

A must-do activity while in Maui, especially if you love to snorkel. Captain Chad and the Calypso crew were outstanding. The food was delicious.

This was our second time going out for a half day adventure on the Calypso. Both experiences were fantastic! The captain is knowledgeable, funny, and laid back. However, the crew has to be my favorite. Both times they were a completely different crew, and both times they were phenomenal! Always very helpful and kind. My oldest daughter has to carry an epinephrine pen as she has had serious reactions to bee and jellyfish stings. The crew were always aware of where every guest was while in the water. You always feel safe. The photographer, Marley, has his own LLC, but also makes the entire experience wonderful. We’ve purchased his full package both times because he does such great work! Overall, you can’t go wrong with a half day adventure on the Calypso. They feed you a nice continental style breakfast, delicious lunch, keep the Mai Tai’s flowing! Oh, and you get to swim with some amazing sea life. Worth every penny. Looking forward to our next adventure with them!

Not good, do not book Too many people Terrible store bought food Staff always asking for tips Food that was cooked was not cooked well Didn't even get to snorkel at designated location….. We thought it was going to be a great experience because the Calypso is 5 hours long compared to everyone’s 3 to 3 1/2 hours. We were wrong. The reason why they are out there for an additional 2 hours is because they’re checking people in, setting people up with gear, rushing people to eat, getting waivers signed, trying to take pictures of everyone, ETC. so if you’re willing to stand in long lines and wait for long periods of time and essentially lose the whole day, by all means book the Calypso.

The Calypso staff is very accommodating, personable,and fun. The food was great and the snorkeling was phenomenal. I highly recommend. Awesome crew.

Swimming at Molokini was great. Super clear and a ton of fish to see. Turtle town was nice to snorkel at, but very little to see. The staff was all great.

Great fun. Boat is large and comfortable with loads of ladders so despite the large tour size, everyone gets in and out of the water quickly. Crew is amazing, good sailors and great hosts/coaches for snorkeling.

Awesome experience, we didn't get to stop at Turtle Town due to weather conditions but had a blast snorkeling, jumping off the boat, sliding into the water. The breakfast and lunch spreads surprised us with how good and diverse the options were. We had a truly great experience. John the lifeguard was so friendly and made our experience even better- all the staff were great. Would definitely recommend for most people, was well worth the cost.

The day was amazing. The crew members were attentive, fun and helpful. The Captain was so warm and welcoming. He worked right along side his crew. He added a dolphin experience to our day and reflected on what a joy it was to do his job and share with others. The food was also delicious.

Staff is super helpful and accommodating to myself. Being alittle handicapped and getting older, was no problem at all.

Everyone was very friendly, helpful and professional. Everyone had a smile on their face. We received breakfast, snacks, lunch, and even a popsicle at the end. We 100% recommend this tour and company. They made sure everyone knew how to use their snorkeling equipment and even had a 101. There were plenty of staff members at all times.

Calypso was great! All of the crew were super helpful. It is a large boat with a lot of people on it. We had a 5 and 9 year old. Our 9 year old did great. Our 5 year old used one of the floaties you can lay on and look down into the ocean. We didnt see any turtles but a lot of cool fish. When we got back we saw turtles right off the harbor!

The crew was attentive and fantastic all around. The food was good and plentiful. The snorkeling was amazing!! A fun day had by our group ranging from 25-82 years old.

I was very impressed with all the staff on the Calypso. I was a little leery because this boat holds so many people, but they were able to accommodate all the people without one delay or hiccup. The boarding process is very smooth along with the disbursement of the snorkel equipment and even the instructions on how to put it on. The snorkel equipment is top-notch. I never had an issue with my mask leaking or fogging up. There’s at least 10 stairways for people to get on and off the boat so there’s never a wait. They give you a number when you first arrive and they do a roll call to make sure everyone is back on board before taking off for the next spot. They serve a delicious breakfast and lunch and it’s very organized so even with all the people there’s very little waiting to get your food.. They have seats with tables so you have a place to put your food. While you’re eating your breakfast, they come around and ask your fin size and give your snorkel gear. So there’s no waiting in line to get your gear. Everyone is super friendly and accommodating. We were very impressed with all the crew. But especially Violetta. She went above and beyond to help us out. My husband accidentally went down the waterside with his prescriptive glasses on, and they landed at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. She dove down and retrieve them for him. We were so relieved as this was the only the first full day of our seven day trip and my husband would’ve been lost without his glasses. The snorkeling at Molakini was beautiful. The water quality was exceptional and we saw lots of different fish and species. Once back on the boat, we had a good time jumping off the platform and going down the slide. I would highly recommend this trip.

Had a great time at Molokini even though time was cut short because the waves were increasing. Went to and saw a turtle and some creatures at the second stop. Boat staff was amazing and onboard amenities and food was great. Highly recommended! Boat is packed so be patient and expect to be run into and kicked when snorkeling.

The day we went was extremely windy so the water was very rough at the crater. The 2nd stop was much calmer. The crew did a great job making sure everyone was comfortable. The lunch options were great

As well as being very well educated with matters of the ocean, sea creatures, safety and boating, the crew went out of their way to ensure our happiness. The ride and snorkeling were spectacular. Just a fantastic day and a wonderful excursion. Will definitely plan to book with them again.

We had an incredible experience aboard Calypso for the Molokini snorkel. Our 9-year-old son has a rare progressive disease, is Deaf, and is wheelchair dependent, so we honestly never thought a snorkel excursion like this would be accessible for our family. From the moment we boarded, the crew made us feel not just accommodated, but genuinely welcomed. While transferring our son and his wheelchair onto the boat, I mentioned that he was Deaf and couldn’t wear his hearing aids onboard. Without missing a beat, Clifford immediately began signing to him, explaining in ASL how he was going to lift and assist him. He continued using ASL with him throughout the trip. That kind of inclusion meant more to our family than I can put into words. Our son was even able to use the slide to get into the ocean to snorkel! When it was time to get back onboard, Sea Bass came right over to lift him from the water. And because he’s 9, of course one trip down the slide wasn’t enough. 😂 Sea Bass helped him get out of the water again and again, always with a smile and never once making him feel like helping him was a burden. He told us how happy he was to see our son enjoying himself and how much joy it brought him to help give him that experience. As parents of a child with significant disabilities, those words and that attitude stay with you. Another crew member repeatedly helped defog our goggles while we were in the ocean and even let our son rest on his surfboard when he needed a break from snorkeling. We live here on Maui, and this experience completely changed what we thought was possible for our family. We went into it wondering how accessible a snorkel excursion could really be and left already talking about bringing our family when they come to visit. Thank you, Calypso, Clifford, Sea Bass, and the entire crew. You didn’t just make accommodations for our son—you made him feel like he belonged there. That made this a truly special experience for our whole family.

This was a great day for refreshing waters, beautiful scenery and smooth boating. My wife had her first experience with snorkeling and really liked it. The crew was awesome and super helpful all day. Would highly recommend this excursion

Amazing experience. Staff were incredibly professional, taking our safety seriously while having a great time. Offered options for every skill level, including a snorkeling 101 lesson. Every crew member was fun and looked like they were having a great time doing their job. The food options were exceptional with many great choices. What a great way to spend our day!

We love the whole crew! It was our 2nd time back as a family. Ryan Wickersheim is such a wonderful water photographer, the Captain is amazing , the crew makes you feel like family *Shout out Alex from your #1 Mainlanders haha* and seriously, I would go everyday if I could. Heck, I would work on this boat if I could !

Great experience. We arrived at 6:45 with an easy check in process. Departed for snorkeling around 7:30 AM and were greeted with little snacks for breakfast that held me over - they also provided a great lunch. Staff was very attentive and ready to help with anything. Equipment also was clean and ready to use. Would book through them again. Great for families, solo trips, or as a couple.

This was a great experience. We booked last minute (2 days prior) and got in! Parking is LIMITED and tight. Show up early. And you have to pay. When we walked up it was A LOT more people than i expected but, once everyone was on the boat it didn’t feel crowded at all. They provide flipper fins (i brought my own bc it didn’t specify in the details). They had plenty of crew members, snacks and beverages the whole trip. ***I get VERY motion sick and was skeptical about being on the water for 5.5 hours but, was convinced I’d be okay since it’s a “bigger boat”. I will tell you that it wasn’t bad. I sat in the front. I wasn’t feeling good towards on the last stop while we were waiting for everyone to load up. but, once we were moving and headed back to port, i was good. There were several young kids on the boat and went out on the water. They did so good. As a childless person, i was shocked. So it’s very kid friendly. Not many wildlife sightings but just swimming in those spots was amazing. 10/10 would recommend.

This was a fun tour. The snorkeling is top notch. They provide all equipment needed, just bring a towel and swim suit. The food was plentiful and healthy. Free juice, water and ginger ale. The cocktails were cheap at $5. Crew was knowledgeable and helpful. I especially liked how easy it was to get on and off the boat. Basically just stairs into the ocean. We did get a discount through our concierge desk that made it a good value for our money. There were people of all ages onboard and they were able to accommodate all abilities. I would highly recommend this tour.

Such an incredible experience. The group is massive so it was great for first time snorkeling and kids. Definitely recommend getting there 45 minutes early. Food was actually pretty good and they have plenty of water and juices. Crew was phenomenal, I would definitely book this again. Molokini Crater was unreal, and I highly reccomend the go pro or photo package. So worth it!!

We have been on many snorkel excursions and this was the best yet! The crew was outstanding! They served breakfast and lunch and were very attentive to their passengers. The Molokini snorkel spot was great with lots of fish and Turtle Town topped it off! The slide and jump platform were so fun and just added to the overall experience. Would do this again and would recommend to family and friends!

5th or 6th time we have gone with this company, several times on Calypso and before that on QuickSilver. Always the same. Great trip and everyone enjoyed themselves. This has become one of the first things we book each time we decide to come to Maui

We had scheduled a cheaper chair on their Quicksilver boat. They did not have enough people so they upgraded us to the Calypso. What a great experience. They were top-notch when it came to hospitality and service. I went to both sides, Molokini and turtle town. Unfortunately the day was very windy. Waters were choppy so not a lot to see underneath the water but. That’s not their fault. Would go with this group anytime five stars all the way. Thank you very much for the experience in the upgrade.
