Maui Premier Whale Watching Cruise - Luxury Catamaran Experience

Really nice excursion, great boat (60 ft) and fantastic crew. The food was pretty good (pulled pork sliders with a vegan option). Drink options were basic but open bar. Over all, it was a great experience. Just make sure you pay attention to the humpback whale season so you catch them migrating.

We saw lots of whales and the Alli Nui crew was great!

We had a fabulous time and would highly recommend! The crew shared some very interesting information on the whales and dolphins we saw - I was surprised by how many whales we saw seeing as it was late in the season. We loved the food, drinks and of course the jokes! The photographer was an added bonus as well. Overall a great time!

Beautiful catamaran and wonderful staff. Very accommodating, friendly and waited on us like we were special. This is the second time we booked a trip with them. First time was a sunset dinner cruise and the food was outstanding. This time we booked a whale watching trip and saw lots of whales. Even the crew got excited when a whale approached the boat.

My wife and I had a great time whale watching on your honeymoon. We did see several whales throughout the trip and really enjoyed the boat. It was a beautiful day on the ocean and I think this is worth the boat ride itself. Would do again!

This tour was amazing! The boat, the food and the staff were fantastic! We saw a pod of males chasing a female, they came within 100 yards of the boat which they told us is called "mugging". Incredible experience, I highly recommend this crew!

My friends and I had an amazing afternoon whale watching with Alii Kai Charters. It’s a spacious catamaran with relaxed seating and a friendly crew. They served us yummy Kahlúa pork sliders right away. The open bar is generous, plus there are lots of refreshing non-alcoholic options as well. Best of all we saw so many whales, thanks to the experience of the captain and crew.

Very good crew that served tasteful food, fresh fruit and plenty of yummy drinks. The captain made sure all people aboard were comfortable. The boat was clean and not too crowded which allowed people to see the whales from all angles.

Maybe I was expecting too much but we only saw 1 whale breach. We saw plenty of whales but nothing spectacular except the 1 breach. I really liked listening to the whale sing! I thought tgat we’d see them up close so a bit of a disappointment.

Excellent staff, clean boat, delicious food, and lots of marine life! The staff was very informative and fun. The boat was not overly crowded which was great so we could move around. We will definitely book again!

Our second time on this whale watch in February - both times outstanding, but this time we REALLY saw a ton of whales. We saw tails, pectoral fins, pod groups, a calf, a whale breaching in the distance, heard whale song, and learned about so many behaviors. The captain and crew are very knowledgeable and helpful. The food and drinks are a nice touch. The boat ride is smooth and comfortable. I have motion sickness issues on windy roads (can't do the Road to Hana anymore), but have zero problem on this catamaran.

I booked the whale watch for my girl friends and I that were visiting Maui last week for a 60th birthday celebration. My crew of gal pals aren't always the easiest to please, but they all said what a great time they had. For them to say that, then you know it was good, since they are the kind that tell it like it is. The crew was super friendly and knowledgeable. We went out on the 8 a.m. tour hoping the ocean would be calm, but turned out to be windy, so I recommend bringing a light water resistant jacket, since we did get splashed some. We didn't see a full breach, but we did see lots of whale tales splashing and activity of male whales fighting over a female. The tour provided a light breakfast and plenty of drinks/cocktails. Would definitely recommend this tour group and crew!

My husband, stepson, and I took an afternoon whalewatching tour with Ali’i Nui and it was everything I hoped for. It was what I was most looking forward to on our Maui trip and it didn’t disappoint. We booked the more luxurious top deck, which I can’t recommend more. You have a better (higher) view of the whales, unlimited drink choices, attentive service, and personal conversations with the captain. Our captain was Ryan and he couldn’t’ve been more charming and full of joy! Awesome. Mackenzie and Johana were superlative, fun, interactive crew. Book it!

The whole experience was awesome! Captain Josh and his crew took exceptional care of us. The food and beverages were plentiful. We saw lots of whales, two even came up within feet of the catamaran. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

After years of whale watching on ALII Nui and the last four trips o. Ali Kai we find there are no better whale tours in the whole of Maui. From the immaculate condition of both sailing vessels to the fabulous crew the entire experience is a home run. Captain Josh is outstanding as well as Captain Jordan. Every crew member strives for perfection in service and attentiveness.

It was awesome. Saw so many whales. The crew was great. Josh made it a learning experience. Photographer was great to not worry about taking pictures was able just enjoy the morning.

The crew (Ryan, Logan and Johanna) were organized and friendly. We saw a lot of whales and they moved the catamaran smoothly through the waters. The boat was clean and comfortable with room to move and follow the whales. The food was nice and plentiful with excellent cocktails and drink options. We appreciated the little kindnesses like cleaning our eyewear and the coconut macaroons. The only disappointment was Logan limited himself to one whale joke.

Captain Luke and First Mate Johanna were awesome, along with the other crew members. We had a perfect weather day and saw multiple breaches and flukes within minutes of leaving the harbor. We sat for a while watching a mama and her calf and the calf kept “baby breaching”. Captain and his crew were very personable and knowledgeable and couldn’t have ordered a better day for us!

The Boat was one of the most amazing catamaran I have been on. From the moment we stepped on the crew was welcoming and attentive. The bar and snacks were an added plus. Although we didn't see any whales we got to see an amazing sunset.

This was my second outing with Ali’i Nui, and they didn’t disappoint. This trip is on their newer yacht, as opposed to the catamaran in the pics. I paid for the VIP upper deck seating, and it was totally worth it. Yummy snacks, premium drinks, devoted crew member, reserved tables, proximity to the captain, great view…all around fun time. I already have my next outing booked for my next visit.

Beautiful vessel and top notch crew and got to see lots of whales as we had hoped! My wife was pregnant and she was perfectly comfortable on the trip - the sailing was smooth thanks to the great captain. Crew was highly attentive and all extremely professional. Would highly recommend.
