Excellent snorkeling and boat experience. Captain Chase and his crew Braxton, Meagan, and Nate did an amazing job in making the trip a wonderful experience. The breakfast and lunch provided were both good. We got to see some beautiful fish, and even dolphins on our way back in from Molokini Crater.

Friendly crew, great service, helpful with kids. What I liked best was that the trip was not a straight line to the crater and back. They followed the coast, wrapped around Molokini, and gave you a full experience. This trip should be a must for first time visitors and this crew was top notch!

Brandon and the crew were awesome! We did not have a lot of wind, but they definitely made every attempt to sail as much as possible. Breakfast and lunch were much better than expected, and they make a mean cocktail. The snorkeling and the whales were also incredible! I would highly recommend, but don’t be late! they like to leave exactly on time!!

We had a very memorable trip out to Molokini and back. Brandon, Jen/Jess and Joey did a great job. We saw lots of whales, had a great snorkel at Molokini Crater and saw even more humpback whales on the trip back.

This was a great experience. We saw at least 50 whales and had a magical experience snorkeling in the Molokini crater. The crew (AJ, Brandon, Jeff) were amazing and helped make sure that all of us were comfortable. Breakfast, lunch and coffee was provided, and we overall ended up having a very comfortable luxury adventure experience. I strongly recommend this for all travelers!

So great. We messed up reading the instructions and arrived close to departure and then had trouble finding where to go but they waited for us and we were so glad the did. The boat is beautiful and the ride over was even more beautiful. We saw whales both directions. The crew was great! The food and service on the boat was top notch. Great boating experience. Our car did get towed. If you park in the dirt in the harbor lot, make sure you don’t have any wheels on the concrete.

This was a terrific day excursion. Capt Brandon & crew members Joey, Jess and others did a fantastic job. They made sure everyone was safe and had a wonderful time. The snorkeling at Molikini was beautiful and the trip allowed everyone ample time to snorkel and swim. The food and drink were delicious and ample, but it might be helpful for some guests if there more vegetarian options available. We are sailors and chose this adventure in part because it was advertised as a "performance" sailing trip, but we only sailed for one hour or so, and most that was motor sailing. Nevertheless, we still had a fantastic time and this trip was far better than just going out on a motor yacht. Thank you for the fun day :).

This trip exceeded our expectations. A gorgeous sail to Molokini, with loads of humpback whales seen en route and dolphins to greet us going back. The snorkeling was perfect in terms of crystal clear waters brimming with colorful fish and undersea creatures. The captain and crew were so welcoming and attentive to all our needs. Breakfast, lunch and cocktails were very nice too. The experience was a highlight, well worth the cost of the trip.

Great crew. Smaller groups. Reef was beautiful and water super clear, not a lot of fish so not the best snorkeling experience but sail was great as was food and saw a large pod of dolphins along the way which made the trip.

Operator cancelled due to low customer volume. Trip Advisor passed the email cancelling my activity but Trip Advisor is making the refund process a nightmare.

Do not book this excursion. If there are not enough filled spots for the trip (10 people or more) they cancel, but will not notify you until the day before at 5 pm, leaving you scrambling to find another tour last moment. They will not update you at all either. My partner and I were the only ones who had booked, and they failed to give any indication that they had not filled enough spots. They attempted to put us on a tour for another day, which only had 4 other people booked, but we found another tour instead with better communication.

Guys absolutely outdone themselves. Amazing vessel, food, vibes and music was just right. If you’re looking for less mainstream experience - this is it. 11 out of 10

The crew was warm, welcoming and created a fun vibe for the passengers. We were running late due to traffic and they waited an extra 15 minutes. Unfortunately we rushed onto the ship without paying for parking and our car was towed when we returned. We enjoyed the experience but ended up feeling a bitter picking up our car from the tow yard. Although it’s not the crews job, I think everyone should be given the QR code before entering the ship.

We just sailed on the Molokini morning tour today and had such a fantastic time. We’ve gone to Molokini several times and this was the best experience. Captain Brandon, and the crew (Mika & Jess) were all very friendly, helpful and encouraging. We had the most time we’ve ever had to snorkel in the crater, and the breakfast and lunch were both the best we’ve had in a snorkeling trip! Thanks so much for a great experience.

This is not one of the cheap 2-hour snorkeling trips where they fill you up on cookies, chips, and Wonderbread. Between check-in and getting off the boat, it was a full 6-hour commitment on a well-equipped catamaran with fewer than 40 people on board. There were very few jokes or local stories from the crew because they were focused on working hard and their guests having a relaxing adventure. The food was plentiful and varied even for guests with allergies (we didn't make any special requests, but had no issues with being able to partake of both the breakfast and lunch options). I will recommend getting to Maalaea Harbor early just for parking, and then make sure you read ALL of the signs, and pay for at least 6 hours of parking (at review time it's very reasonable at $1/hr) for this trip. We, unfortunately, did not read the sign that said we were in a truck with a boat trailer only spot, and we did get towed. The most they are allowed to charge is $185. We did hear rumors of one of the tow companies charging double that amount and were anticipating an argument, but it was pretty easy to get an Uber and collect our rental. Just call the numbers on the parking sign to get the address for the tow company. Other than our little side quest, it was a beautiful day of boating and snorkeling. We even learned a new fact about the birds on Molokini - I won't spoil it by sharing here, though.

Great experience. Boat was nice, captain and mates were awesome and super friendly. They served breakfast and lunch on board which were both good. Provided good snorkel gear. Would def use them again!

Such a nice experience. I don't love touristy boat trips but this team really made the experience nice and treated us like adults. Even took us to an extra location that I'd never been to before which was amazing.

Friendly staff, great food, overall fantastic family fun. Would highly recomend it. We also saw lots of whales so it was so much fun.

My wife and I had a good experience with this tour, despite a couple of hiccups. The good: - The boat is great, plenty of space to sit and/or lounge - Molokini is amazing and the snorkeling was excellent - Most* of the staff are exceedingly nice and helpful - Tons of whale sightings along the way to and from the crater (mid-March) The bad: - All communications that we received from Sail Maui via Tripadvisor indicated that the tour started at 7:30am. This includes the confirmation email which clearly listed 7:30am as the start time, and the subsequent waivers that we signed. So we showed up at 7:30am only to find out that they actually expect you to arrive 30-40minutes prior, and that 7:30am was actually the departure time. So after receiving a phone call from the boat staff telling us we were late and that the boat was departing, we had to sprint from our car to the boat to make it on time. We were greeted with "you're lucky we're running late" instead of "we're sorry that the listing on TripAdvisor isn't correct" which wasn't great - There was a moment where one of the staff members was pretty rude to us with a comment that she made about our sunscreen. What could have been a teaching moment about reef-safe sunscreen ended up being a low-light of our experience

Staff was so great, the boat was clean and had just the right amount of people onboard, which made the experience 10x better then being on a crowded boat. They took us to a perfect snorkeling spot and even made a point to stop and see whales when we could, ended up seeing various whales and 6 whales breaching the water, such an amazing experience! They also gave us breakfast, lunch and snacks which was another reason why we chose this charter. Would definitely recommend this excursion!!

Great trip as always. My wife and I take two trips each year with Sail Maui when we come to Maui. Eighteen trips over the past 11 years and every single trip with Sail Maui has been great. No over-crowding on the boats. Wonderful spots to snorkel and all the crews on the boats are fantastic. Could not recommend them more!

We saw so many whales and there was delicious food and cocktails and refreshments and fun was had by all! I highly recommend this excursion!

Great crew, good food, nice boat, and excellent snorkeling, with a bonus of whale Watching and sailing. The snorkel gear was all in new condition and the cruise is very helpful in equipping out the people who needed it.

We enjoy Sail Maui every time we go to Maui. In fact we started going when it was Paragon Sailing. Although it's the sailing we enjoy the most, this time the wind did not cooperate (there was none) but the captain changed tack to give us the best whale show. Kind, courteous and knowledgeable crew, we always feel like we are in good hands aboard their sailing vessels. The boats are never crowded and the lunch was superb catered by Fork & Salad - a great restaurant.

Five-Star Whale Watching and Snorkeling with Sail Maui! I've been visiting Maui for years and have taken countless tours (probably 30 or so with 6-8 different companies!), and I can honestly say Sail Maui's snorkel and whale watch on February 7, 2025, was one of the best experiences I've had. From start to finish, the entire crew exuded the true spirit of Aloha. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared about ensuring everyone had a fantastic time. A special shout-out to Dakota and James, who went above and beyond to take care of all the guests. Their attentiveness and positive energy really made the trip special. And our captain? Absolutely brilliant! They were a whale-whisperer! They expertly navigated the waters and kept us in prime position to witness some truly breathtaking whale activity. We saw so many whales, and the captain's knowledge and enthusiasm added so much to the experience. The snorkeling was also fantastic, with great equipment and a beautiful location. But it was the combination of the incredible whale sightings and the exceptional crew that truly set Sail Maui apart. They're in the top echelon of Maui tour operators, doing everything right with genuine Aloha style. If you're looking for an unforgettable whale watching or snorkel tour on Maui, I wholeheartedly recommend Sail Maui. You won't be disappointed!

We went on the Molokini snorkel and performance Sail last Monday. Our crew was Captain Brandon, Jade and Lilly. We had a great time! The crew and Captain were knowledgeable and friendly. The weather was perfect for the snorkeling and the wind picked up in the late morning and we had a beautiful time under sail. We recommend Sail Maui highly!

Amazing snorkel trip to Molokini crater with tons of whale watching and sailing on return trip. Loved the smaller vessel, smaller group and personalized feel. A 10/10 crew including Brandon, Lily and Jade! Sail Maui was very accommodating for our large group with rescheduling and refunds due to weather.

We had a great snorkeling trip out to Molokini, thanks to Captain Brandon and his crew. We were fortunate that the whales were active that day, on the trip to and from Molokini. Brandon made sure to navigate towards them so we had great views of breaching, flipper waves and other activities. The snorkeling at Molokini is great, clear water, lots of fish, sea urchins, and interesting coral. On the way back the crew raised the sails and gave it a try but the winds were quite calm. But everyone enjoyed the quiet, taking in the amazing beauty of this place. I highly recommend supporting this small business.

This was a great trip, the weather was bad the 22nd so they called on 21st to cancel, yet was able to get in the 23rd.. All the crew were very attentive and nice! The food items were good, especially the GF cookies!! The best part we seen a whale do full breach! Plus, sing, then right by the boat!! It was a beautiful day!!

We booked this excursion last minute and all had a great time. The crew was fun, knowledgeable, and very approachable. The captain was able to locate several whales nearby and so we were able to see them swimming and jumping out of the water. We even got to hear the whales talking with a neat little device that was placed in the water. The sunset at the end of the trip was absolutely stunning. Definitely a must do while in Maui

Went whale spotting and then snorkeling with the Sail Maui crew, Brendan, Jade & Micah. Saw so many whales! The crew was very knowledgeable and so kind and helpful. They helped get us as close as possible while still respecting wildlife and Hawaiian laws. The snorkeling gear provided was actually nice and not terribly uncomfortable like on other snorkeling tours I've done. The boat was really nice, plenty of spots for everyone to stand or sit while whale watching and dry off after snorkeling. The food was great, and healthy too. The captain explained that whales can remember boats from their sound and any encounters, so it's important to be respectful to them. I really appreciated that and was grateful to be on a tour that wasn't stalking and harming the wildlife. We had several close encounters with both young and adult whales coming closer to us and I can believe it's because they have never had a bad encounter with that boat or crew.

Unforgettable Snorkeling Experience! I can’t say enough about my snorkeling adventure! From the moment we stepped on the boat, Kevin, Mica, and Cass made us feel so welcome and safe. They’re knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely love what they do. 🌴 The highlights? Seeing a playful octopus up close 🐙 (thanks to Mica the octopus whisperer) and watching a whale in the distance! 🐋 The water was crystal clear and the fish were abundant. The lunch and snacks they served were delicious (even a gluten free option). Far more than I was expecting. If you’re in Maui, do yourself a favor and book this experience. Trust me, you won’t regret it! 💙

Our snorkel trip to Molokini was spectacular! The weather was good, the boat was clean and beautiful, the crew was fun, professional, and met all our needs. I’m not a water person and Captain Brandon took extra time to review the safety guidelines and help me with my equipment. We saw at least 20 whales on our trip. I highly recommend Sail Maui.

We always book the longer snorkel trips because we love the time we get to spend on the ocean and we booked this trip to experience true sailing and CPT Brendon, Ninoah, Jade and Lily did not disappoint. The sails went up thirty minutes into the ride and we couldn’t have been happier. It was truly a wonderful excursion. Plenty of time at Molokini to snorkel and see an abundance of whales throughout the trip. We will be back.

We loved our trip out to Molokini with Sail Maui. The weather was unpredictable but we got lucky and had a great sail out and perfect snorkeling conditions. The staff were all exceptional. We saw whales along the way. They also included a second snorkeling location on the way back. I would highly recommend the trip.
