The hike in the jungle was a different experience. It’s fun. Our driver/ guide AYCJunny was knowledgeable and caring. The sandwich lunch was delicious.

Wear a hat and rain jacket. High chance of getting rained on. Also this tour is pretty difficult especially if you have bad knees.
Really nice tour. Our guide Nahoku was great. Best lunch view 😊
Outstanding. Our guide Junny was so knowledgeable about the area and falls themselves. Make sure you wear shoes that grip and nothing you care if it gets muddy. He provided walking sticks which was nice. Sandwich after the hike was very good but eating it over looking almost the entire island from a park up high was incredible. I’m 64 and had no trouble making the hike. Biggest issue is on a wet day it can get slippery.
Excellent tour. A highlight of our trip. Joe the tour guide was the best. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
The hike was fun and the tour guide was really helpful. The sandwich and the lookout at the end was perfect.
Was a wet hike but as long as you wear the proper shoes you will be fine. A few had on sandals or crocs! I am 70 and there were others my age as well. The falls were beautiful and trip down was a breeze. I wish I had brought some dry socks with me for the bus ride back.
Great adventure. Can be muddy! Beautiful scenery and the falls are beautiful Our guide,Joe was fun and knowledgeable. The lunch was fantastic.
Joe was awesome! He was very attentive to all of the guests and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. The waterfall was absolutely gorgeous, and the lunch was delicious! Even when we had some minor van troubles, Joe went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and at ease. His positive attitude and excellent care really made a difference. I couldn’t have asked for a better day or a better guide. Thank you, Joe, for making our experience so wonderful! 🌺🌴 P.S. Joe...send us the pictures!! Susan & Chris
First, I would like to say thank you to the amazing guide. This company was a local company, and you can genuinely feel the care they put into the tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, and caring. I was quite pleased with the entire experience, along with the other thoughtful passengers on the journey together. The hike isn’t very long, but definitely for a moderate skill level. There are lots of rocks, can be muddy and rainy. I loved it all! I would’ve loved to spend more time at the waterfall and on the hike. It was a little overwhelming with the crowds. I felt rushed and did everything I could to slow down and enjoy the surroundings. Again, the guide was extraordinary, Joe took his time, making sure everyone was safe and checked in on everyone. He also took time to take photographs. Mahalo Joe! Joe truly made this experience a fond memory, along with the magical beauty of Hawaii. A hui hou🌺
Love love loved this excursion. If you’re a nature lover, highly recommend this one. You’re pretty much surrounded by greenery left and right. As if that’s not enough, you reach the top, and you’re greeted by a beautiful waterfall. Nothing more I could ask for. Driver was super nice- George. He picked us up and dropped us off. Provided info along the way. Lunch was provided. Hike is not strenuous, just rocky, so make sure you wear sneakers. I saw some children on the trail, but don’t think that was safe bc it is so rocky. Overall this was a 10 for me.
We were picked up at the Hyatt by Jason and Isaac. We had a nice trip to the waterfall and back, then ate lunch at a small park overlooking all of Honolulu. It was great!
Very beautiful! Very muddy!! The guide was very kind. The only problem: 4 english speakers, 11 Japanese speakers. English speakers including myself felt very left out alot of the time. I feel like we got left out of alot of the tour guide insights as he often drifted immediately over to the Japanese language. A bit uncomfortable. Again, the hike was lovely and the sandwhich was delicious.
Just keep in mind the mountain is unpredictable where the proper shoes if it’s raining by your poncho and make sure you’re up for a longhike of that heel. There’s a beautiful waterfall at the top. Definitely recommend if you hike or if you’re not an experience hiker that’s fine high blood you might not want to go. Definitely a good time.
Must do tour! Our guide, Hoku, was amazing - professional, knowledgeable, funny, and so cool! The nature was lush and stunning. Great for solo travelers.
Great way to see the beauty on the island. Juni and Isaak were great guides!
Jason was an EXCELLENT tour guide. Thank you Jason! Beautiful!! Try to get the experience!! Thank you
I had an AH-MAZING time. If anything, I wish I could have ordered my veggie sandwich with a vegan option (it came with mayo and cheese; the part of it I could consume were the loose grilled onions and they were good). The boiling does say glaring your own lunch if you have dietary restrictions but there should be a price difference. Other than that, our guide was super friendly and offered a TON of information. Also cool to learn new words and about the land since he grew up there and helped build the trail. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend, even with the lunch inconvenience. MAHALO!!!
Junny is very friendly, involving and fun! Great experience, no rain and mud, tasty food and amazing views
Beautiful scenery! The last quarter of the hike is pretty steep. Juni our tour guide provided hiking poles. Highly recommend taking them as it is slippery throughout the trail. He allowed the group to both stay together and also staggered so that the slower folks like me could still enjoy. Lunch had a beautiful view at the second stop.
Jason was a fantastic guide! And the falls are gorgeous. Just a note. We went right after some rains and the mud killed our shoes. LOL. This is not the hike for white shoes! It is uphill and rocky but beyond beautiful. We had some 75 year old ladies who made it! BUt slowly! The guides really paced everyone well! The view for lunch was spectacular!
Our guide, Junie was tremendous! He was very informative about not only the hike, but history and culture of Hawaii. Was very attentive to our needs and worked hard to ensure we had a great time!
The guide was excellent and knowledgeable. The views were fantastic and worth the hike. Would highly recommend.
George was An awesome tour guide. Very informational and accommodating for all guests. Th extra stop after the waterfall like was a great treat!
Hoku, our travel guide made the day so fun! He has great energy and was really funny! Lunch was delicious and with a beautiful view!
Jason was the coolest guy i have ever met. He was telling us about history, cool stories, and Hawaiian language. Mei was super sweet and amazing. - Jeremiah, 10 years old
This was amazing!! George is a great guide! After the recent storms the trail was rough and steep. George stayed right with us and offered a hand when it was needed!! He even brought walking sticks for the group, they helped a lot with the climb! The waterfall was stunning and well worth the hike up!
George, our guide, took good care of us. The falls were the destiny but the hiking journey was beautiful and just the right amount of a challenge. Bring good hiking shoes!
We really enjoyed this excursion. We were lucky that we traveled on a small tour. There were only 10 of us. It was a nice drive to the park and out guide JAC was fun, entertaining, knowledgeable and gave us helpful ideas of spots to try. JAC knew his stuff. He identified many plants and fruits for us. He allowed us to go at a pace that felt safe for us. We never felt rushed. I say this because there are parts of the trail (especially when we descended) that was wet, rocky and very slippery. Happily, the team provided us with walking sticks as well! Some reviews wrote that you can do this on your own. Absolutely, you can but the walk would be without the expertise of the guide. JAC made the trip for us. All in all a great day and a great guide!
Jason grew up in the area so had great stories as well as restaurant recommendations. Anon translated for the Japanese guests. The rain made for some slippery spots on rocks and mud. The guides did bring walking sticks for us and there were cut-outs in the steps that were steep. There were stops for restrooms and small gift shopping. The sandwiches were very good and a bottle of water was provided at lunch.
Jak and Mei are great team and very entertaining. The tour was amazing!!! I would definitely do it again! Highly recommend Anastasia
Great guide. George was lovely. Took the time to talk to all members of the group and was very knowledgeable. The walk to the falls was amazing despite the rain but that did mean the falls themselves were spectacular.
We had Jak and Mei as our guides (Jak for english speakers, Mei for Japanese speakers) and they just did a fantastic job. This tour is very convenient for anyone staying near enough to the Waikiki area where it departs. Our group size was ~20, we onboarded the minibus from the Hyatt Regency tour departure spot on Koa Ave. The tour makes a stop at the company office where drinks, ponchos, and other things can be purchased. Ponchos are a must have item - the rainforest is a very wet place (note on the poncho: you may want to bring your own ; the ones sold are very affordable but also quite thin and may have a hole or two). If possible, have shoes that can accommodate water well and that are suitable to walk on rocks under a shallow running stream. Once the bus arrives at the parking lot of the Manoa Falls trail starting point (a ~20-30 min ride from Waikiki area peppered with lots of good information shared by Jak and Mei on restaurants to try and some historic locations), you get your walking sticks and bug repellent which are included in the package and you have one last chance to buy a poncho and/or go to the restrooms. After that, the trail starts. It is a wonderful walk in the forest, with beautiful sceneries, surprising discoveries such as the shampoo ginger plant, and some opportunities to collect kukui nuts, guava, and depending on the season possibly avocados. You get rewarded in the end with a 150 feet waterfall that just by itself makes the whole trip worth it (especially if it is raining). The trail is manageable and very moderate. Walking sticks are very helpful esp. when walking back. Jak and Mei provide a lot of guidance and useful information throughout. After the ~1.5 miles trail the bus takes you to the Tantalus lookout for a delicious lunch of fresh sandwiches and another round of photos as you have a sweeping view of all of Honoluku (and a bit beyond). The duration is well calibrated (left at 9:15, came back at the same spot around 2:15) and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience as a family. Thanks again to Jak and Mei for this incredibly enjoyable experience.
Jason and Anon are incredible - Jason is a fountain of incredible and fun facts, and his own history is amazing too. The pickup was at a nearby hotel and easy, the tour packed. The drive to the falls was lovely, and the hike s great - I will say, don't do the hike if you have never hiked before, it is a little tricky. But there are lots of folks and someone to help if you slip a little. We then went to the state park, and had lunch with a lovely panorama of the island. The veggie sandwich was decent, I still recommend carrying snacks since it's about five hours from beginning to end. They have a lot of other tours which seem great too, if I had the time left. You get dropped off at your pickup spot or anywhere else close by if that's more convenient, so that's really helpful too.
Terrific guide, Jackson. We enjoyed the beautiful hike to Monoa Falls and were treated to incredible views of the area from the top of an awesome hilltop. The lunch and lunch stop were both fantastic!
The trip was perfect! Very excited nformative. The waterfall was gorgeous. Our lunch was yummy, and our tour guide JAK was the BEST!
A balanced day between hiking and scenic views. Jackson, our guide, was informativebon the hike. Not quite a perfect day as the Manoa Falls was just a trickle.
This was great! Good hike and host Hoku was fantastic! Lunch was good as well. Will suggest to anyone coming to Ohau to sign up for it.
Great hike with a very knowledgeable tour guide. Lunch at the scenic overlook after the hike was a great addition. I highly recommend this tour.
Follow the directions given by the tour company--they make the hike easier and more enjoyable. It is not a tough hike, but be ready not only for the elevation gain, but the rocks and uneven path. A rain poncho is handy, too. Appreciated the group we were with as well as our guide--took rest breaks when needed and was encouraging. The sandwich lunch after the hike is fabulous! We enjoyed the entire experience very much! We would book with this company again. Thank you!
We consider this as very good half day activity, it was preceded by very good communication leading to seamless pick up and transit. Tour was well done by Nature and You by friendly guide, ours was bilingual ( Anglo/Japanese). Description of hike trail conditions provided prior turn out to be pretty accurate, hike itself- around 1.6 mile with maybe .5 mile steeper section took around 40 min for group with seniors, scenery was really beautiful, hiking experience was great. That was followed by short drive to 360 deg outlook point overseeing Honolulu metro wher we enjoyed our lunch
The hike was fun. It can be a challenge for someone who has balance or unsteady issues. Steep inclines. If it rains it can be muddy and slick in spots. Walking sticks were great to use. Lunch was very good and much needed after the hike.
Overall, this was a great excursion. It was more nature hike than waterfall given the lack of rain in the area, however, offered some beautiful views. The lunch at the park afterwards offered amazing overlook of Waikiki and Honolulu.
Great tour operator. Gentle hike with fantastics views. Tour operator humorous and personable. The view from state park is phenomenal. Lunch meal provided with good selection of options.
It was a great experience. Manoa Valley is beautiful although the walk can be a little slippery. Bring good walking shoes. Lunch was perfect after the hike to the Falls. Jack & May were awesome!
Great hike and so beautiful and lush!! The lunch was stand both guides were knowledgeable and so very nice.
Hoki was the best tour guide we have ever had. Made us feel very comfortable. By the end of the tour, we felt like family. He gave us so much information about the city we were passing by, which was nice for someone like me who had never been to Hawaii
Juni was a great guide and kept a good pace. In terms of strenuous walking hikes, I would rank this an 8 out of 10 because there were uneven bits and some areas got pretty steep. The falls were lovely, albeit a little underwhelming, but it was still a nice tour and the sandwiches were delicious.
What a fantastic hike! It was absolutely worth the climb. It wasn't too crowded, and there were people coming back down with smiles on their faces. I suggest bringing your own water, as it can get hot and the humidity is high. The walk up was fabulous, and I took a ton of pictures. I loved every minute of this hike. Stay on the path for safety reasons. I think it took less than an hour to go up and down. There is some mud to watch out for. If it recently rained, it will be very slippery and not like my hike. Keep kids close, as there are edges to fall into. I highly recommend doing this if you are in Oahu.
It was very good!!! We enjoyed the hiking in the tropical atmosphere ❤️ Our guide Hoku was so professional and friendly, that made the experience even more enjoyable and we really appreciate it. If anyone is looking for something other than just laying on the beach, we highly recommend this activity. Mahalo😘
