It stands as a memorial to everyone who died in the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. This attack pulled the United States into WWII. The memorial is also a memorial to the 1,177 sailors and marines who died aboard the USS Arizona when a Japanese bomb detonated her ammunition magazine. Representing almost half of the 2,403 US military personnel who died in the attack. The Arizona Memorial spans the wreck of the battleship but does not touch it. The Arizona Memorial is only accessible by US Navy-operated shuttle boat. View the 23-minute documentary on the Pearl Harbor Attack. Take the US Navy operated shuttle boat to the Arizona Memorial. See the Memorial wall and the USS Arizona's "black tears."

Roland is an amazing person!! The stories about the history of Hawaii that he told us! Were so interesting! I could have listened to his stories all day long!!!
The Pearl Harbor USS Arizona luxury tool was very informative, but also very touching due to the many US military soldiers who lost their lives on that day in Pearl Harbor. It allows us to see how important it is to not just assume something is normal but always verify. The enemy is real and very calculating so we must do our due diligence to ensure what happened at Pearl Harbor on that sad day doesn’t happen again.
Driver was punctual knowledgeable and friendly. Very professional and polite, would recommend it to anyone
It was very somber but moving to see up close! Our tour guide Dave was exceptional and a wealth of knowledge. He was also witty and friendly. We enjoyed the transport as he filled us in on much of Honolulu history and local places to go. Pearl Harbor was eye opening and moving!
Somber but great trip. We had a great driver that explained a lot of the history and surrounding location.
It was amazing. Our guide Vanessa was kind and funny. she told jokes and provided snacks and drinks. She could answer any question we gave her, even what kind of trees were outside.
Roland Chong did a great job with the tour. Very friendly and informative.
The luxury part of the title was a misnomer! We were crammed into a 15 passenger van that was designed for either children or very skinny people. Our van was full and 4 of our family got the 4 back seats on the way back (that included the tour of downtown) that was definitely not designed for 4 larger people. We were so uncomfortable that the tour part was torture. Our guide was nice enough, but spoke so softly that I could maybe hear 25% of what he said. Pearl Harbor itself was great, and our guide handed out the tickets for it when we arrived. He also had cold waters, and a granola bar on the way there and cold tropical sodas on the way back. I would suggest that the company either upgrade their vehicles or downsize how many people they cram into the current vehicle. There is no way they should be cramming that many people in - I felt like a sardine. In retrospect, we should have driven ourself there. Thumbs down from our party of 6
Overall, the service was fine, but where there were some issues that were not laid out in the reservation or that affected our ability to explore the memorial. Our pick up time was at 12:30 by the time we had picked up the other two groups we didn’t get to the memorial until 130. With our 230 boat tickets, we were urged to rush to the film before getting on our boat to go to the memorial. After we returned from the memorial, we didn’t have nearly enough time to visit the museums or the submarine. My daughter likes to do the junior Ranger program. And we had a pick up time at 4 PM by the time we were done seeing the memorial it was 315. We were barely able to finish up the junior Ranger booklet get our badge and regroup with the Van. Then we went on some impromptu hour long city tour that was not in the reservation initial description. I would have rather spent the extra hour at the memorial. And not driving around the city. Yes it was cool seeing historical spots, but it was just slow crawling past them with unnecessary onetime stories about them. The driver was nice, but he was a long winded. Again overall, it was fine. But I would would’ve rather used the last hour to stay at the memorial instead of drive around on the van for an unplanned seemingly random city tour. I know y’all do the city tours, but it was not part of what I booked when I made this Pearl Harbor reservation.
The information said I would be picked up in a limo. I wasn’t. It was a van our guide Vanessa was nice but all the information she had was the exact same as the video once we arrived at Pearl Harbor. Afterwards, she did have some good information about the town. Luxury tour absolutely not.
Vanessa was fun and so knowledgeable! She not only was kind and fun to be with, she also did an amazing job!
It was nice to be with a small group of people for the tour. The driver was courteous and friendly.
Pearl Harbor is a beautiful site. But be careful as it is a memorial so treat it with respect. Vanessa was fantastic tour guide.
Such a moving experience visiting the resting place of those that perished on December 7th. A walk through history.
Pick up at start of trip was delayed (we waited 40 minutes). Air conditioning in van was not functioning. Very little history of the Pearl Harbor story was provided by tour guide/driver. While a friendly guy, he rambled about disconnected topics. Not sure why this was called a luxurious tour.
This was not a tour of Arizona Memorial. And definitely not a luxury tour. It was basically getting dropped off and picked up from the memorial. We were provided tickets to get on the boat that goes out to the Arizona. There was no tour. We were provided water and juice. 13 people plus the driver crammed in the van. Driver had a microphone and speaker but we couldn't hear him at all. He picked us up after we saw the memorial and proceeded to drive around the residential areas East of Honolulu. Again, we couldn't hear him talk so we were confused why were driving around. After a while, my Brother asked him if we'd be getting back to our hotels soon as he is diabetic and would need medication soon. The driver responded with, "this is the tour listed on your itinerary." I looked it up. There was NO tour listed on our itinerary. Then he said, "ya, after a few more sites, I'll get you back to your hotel." When we finally arrived at our hotel, driver says to the other passengers, "You all knew there was a tour after...?" Then an elderly lady with a walker tried to get out so our group could get out. Driver rudely says to the lady, "Why are you getting out?" My brother asks the driver for his name to which he responded, "You're a jerk." My opinion, this was all handled very unprofessional. I do not recommend this "luxury tour" or this driver.
Vanessa was fun and very knowledgeable about what happened on December 7, 1941 as well as additional information about the island and its history. I think everybody that visits the island should take the time to visit Pearl Harbor. Thank you for a wonderful experience
It was ok. Not really the experience we thought it would be. At the Arizona memorial you are herded in and out really quickly. And we were left in a hot closed up bus with no air con running while the driver was outside talking to someone. I wouldn’t recommend.
They need to know the map direction is wrong on app and need to be able to connect directly with business giving tour before hand
Dave our driver was excellent. He kept us well informed and aware of all the protocols at the Pearl Harbor memorial, and he was unfailingly courteous. Terrific service!
My husband and I took our 12 yo granddaughter on this tour. She gained a real appreciation for the way history was unfolded on this tour. Great films, interviews with survivors and folks who were there really drove the reality of it all home. Our tour guide David was also a bonus! As a resident of Hawai’i for almost 50 years he gave us great stories of Hawai’i over the years and showed us some of Hawai’is historical buildings.
Our tour guilds Roland was amazing! Very personable and informative! The Pearl Harbor tour was very heartfelt! Evermust see this and remember!
A truly moving, up-close experience not to be underestimated from the profound Day of Infamy attack on Pearl Harbor.
The good: Pearl Harbor was amazing and our driver did a great job. He took us on a mini tour of Honolulu which we didn’t expect. The negative: we only had about 2hrs at Pearl Harbor which was not enough time. They call this a tour but really you’re on your own at Pearl Harbor so the “private tour” part is not true. In fact it said “luxury private tour no more than 11 people”. We were STUFFED in a van with 15 people. There was NOTHING luxury about it! Having said that, I still feel it was worth the money but I think VIATOR should reword this excursion. More of just a shuttle ride from your hotel. Very false advertising.
Took this adventure from the cruise ship dock. Saved lots of money and had a great time! Well with the money. And loved the attention we got as a small group
The tour was wonderful. Roland was great. He took us back a scenic route and we got to see more of this beautiful Island. Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona are not to be missed. Van was large and very comfortable.
Primarily, we were able to see the Pearl Harbor memorial which was our goal. This was in no way what I would call luxury as it was named. Our pick up was half an hour late. Transportation was in a van and not terribly roomy for 10 people. The description of the day included lunch. After touring the memorial we were given a can of juice and a very small granola bar. We were told there were hot dogs available for purchase at the memorial so nothing like an included lunch even though the excursion went from 9:30am to almost 4pm. Adequate but not special in any way.
This turned out to be an incredible experience. Unfortunately, we could not find the meeting point; however, Melissa & our driver were extremely understanding. They were both friendly and helpful, while offering informative details as we travelled to Pearl Harbor. As a retired service member visiting Pearl Harbor was a little emotional, but very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour.
This is the perfect small tour. And the guide was great. He played a recording on the drive to Pearl Harbour that was great to listen to before getting to the park. Definitely recommend this tour.
Very moving and very informative. David was a great tour guide, knew alot about the areas we visited.
Our driver Dave picked us up on time and was an excellent driver. He provided the group with what to expect at Pearl Harbor. He also gave us history of the area and informed tour on return trip.
My experience was trash your driver canceled without notice your customer service sucked and could not reschedule without trying to double charge me very bad experience you guys suck
Great tour guide. Friendly and gave a great amount of knowledge about Hawaii. Made it much easier to see attractions without stress.
Not enough time at Pearl Harbor. Arizona memorial was closed. Not told this ahead of time but do not think the schedule is available to far in advance. Overall a decent tour.
The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. The tour bus was supposed to seat 11 passengers and the driver. Luckily we were traveling with my 6 year old because otherwise there is no way the back seat of this bus would fit 4 adults. My husband, son and I were in the back seat with another gentleman. The others on the trip would not have been able to climb into the back seat so we didn’t have a choice. Essentially my son was sitting over a wheel well and had a very small part on the seat while I sat on his seatbelt buckle. This should absolutely be limited to the driver and 10 people max instead of packing people in making for a very uncomfortable 30 minute drive there and 45-60 minute drive back (including a short tour of Honolulu). Also some type of quick lunch spot stop would be helpful because there was very limited food at Pearl Harbor (a hot dog stand) and 930-3 is a lengthy time to go with only drinks provided, especially with kids.
Our group liked being on a small tour Rodney was very informative The Pearl Harbor memorial was very moving
You will also be led on a post Pearl Harbor city tour that takes about an hour and a half after the main tour. It’s filled with great information, we just didn’t know it was included. It was fun and you’ll learn a lot about Hawaii!
A very nice tour. Our guide, Robert Street was so knowledgeable about Oahu and we learned a lot. Communication was good before and day of the tour and all was on time. Transportation was very comfortable. Would recommend.
This was not a luxury ride, it was 9 people crammed into a large van. The driver also tailgated on the freeway. Enjoyed the Arizona Memorial. I did enjoy seeing the parks and palaces afterwards.
Vanessa shared a lot of information on the comfy ride over and back, She picked us up on time in air conditioned commercial van. The Pearl Harbor Memorial was not crowded in the early Sunday morning visit. But picked up during the afternoon. Learned a lot about Pearl Harbor and those who gave their life on that horrible day in history.
It was interesting just remember it is a historical event and a surreal event that happened to our country.
Vanessa was an excellent tour guide and driver. Very knowledgeable. Thought we were just getting a ride to the visitor center and tickets to see the memorial but we also got to see the punch bowl cemetery and the kings palace and the statue of King Kamehameha. Learned about the history of Hawaii and of Pearl Harbor.
Very rushed. Once at Pearl Harbour we had 2 hr 30 mins. Theitinerary states 3 hrs and you need 3 hours at a minimum to see the site without rushing. The tour did take us on a loop downtown on the way home which isn't required. I would much rather have spent more time at Pearl Harbour. Ronaldo was great. Not his fault.
This isn't a "tour." It doesn't matter if you spend extra money for it to be a "private tour" either. The only function of this tour is that they will pick you up from your hotel to bring you to pear harbor. They drop you off, hand you the tickets and then you have to be back at a specific time. There is literally no point to purchasing this. I spent $79 per person x 5 people. Also, they said there would be no more than 11 people on our bus there. And there were more than 11. So, I paid extra for literally no reason. It would have been exceptionally cheaper to just Uber over there. You can buy tickets online for $1. If you can't get tickets to the USS Arizona online, you can join the standby line when you get there. Then, you can leave when you want. Ubers are in abundance. Obviously this review is not a review of the Pearl Harbor museum or USS Arizona itself, which everyone should see.
Such an emotional place. Really needed more time to look around. That is my only regret that we didn’t have enough time. So much to see. Anyone how goes to Honolulu should go see Pearl Harbor and pay your respects to all those lost lives.
The experience was very solemn and memorial. To say it was wonderful” would only be referring to the memorial presentation and professionalism. At 75 years young, my wife and I were very impressed with how it was delivered. “Lest We Forget!” We must NEVER forget.
Be aware that they can change your time the night before and totally mess up your schedule. We only had two days in Honolulu and wasted a morning since our tour was changed.
Great excursion. Very informative. Roland had great stories and was very attentive. Appreciated the water, juice and the snacks. Highly recommend this excursion.
We had an excellent tour experience with Vanessa as our driver and guide. How she was able to impart so much information, get us organised and drive us around all at the same time was amazing!! The visit to the USS Arizona was very special and poignant, and we also enjoyed a fascinating trip on our way back around areas of interest in Honolulu too. Great value for money, certainly much less than the cost of same trip with Cunard. Hence 5 stars!! ☺️👍
