Cousin G!!! This man is amazing! He is so knowledge about Hawaii and so many other things, I could have spent the entire week learning from him. Awesome tour!
Paul was awesome! Spent the whole day with him and had a blast! Totally recommend!
Loved this tour. The swim at the waterfall was the highlight of our Hawaii vacation. Kayaking up the river from the bay was a relaxing way to end the trip. Highly recommended this tour!
We had an amazing time with Surf Bus North Shore Tour. We learned all about the island and had amazing time at the botanical gardens. Our tour guide was very friendly and had so much information to share. Would totally recommend this tour to all.
Great tour with Sam! Enjoyed the botanical gardens, waterfall and Hele’iwa Bowls. Order the Mango bowl!
My husband, myself and our two young boys (ages 8 and 10) booked the surf bus for a day at the North Shore. We heard it was a part of the island that we had to see. Even though it was summer and we knew the big waves wouldn't be there we still wanted to see it. And my goodness so thankful we did. Not only did this tour take us to the north shore they brought us up the east side of the island where we witnessed the most amazing views. The island of Oahu is absolutely extraordinary. Our guide (sam) was fun and informative. A true native that knows the area. He explained so much and pointed out things we wouldn't have seen. It wasn't just a script, he shared stories. Made it fun and easy. You get plenty of time to enjoy the different stops. We choose to snorkel sharks cove at our first stop and enjoyed some fresh shrimp at the food trucks. Next stop in the small north shore town we tried SUP for the first time. It was a small river where the water was calm and easy for us beginners to get our legs under us. We didnt see any sea turtles but that is ok. We still enjoyed every minute. The goal of this tour is the see as much as you can, but not from the window of a bus. To get out to touch, see, and smell. We didnt want to ride along in a circle tour bus to just snap pictures, and quick rushed 10 mins stops along the way but to really expierence the magnificence of the island. That is what we recieved. 10 out of 10 this tour is worth it. Not to mention when my hotel told me I couldnt book it bc there wasnt enough people booked. I called directly, they made special accommodations to get us on the tour. They truely care and want to give you an expierence you wont forget. Great people, lots of fun, perfect day!!!
As I was paddle boarding up the canal and saw the 'Adventure Awaits' sign, I knew I was already there. The day started at a local coffee grower and a stop at the beach to spot sea turtles. Loved the personalized small tour with whale sightings and snorkeling with sea urchins and beautiful fish that looked like mirrors in the sun. Cousin G seems to know everyone and the best spots. And, yes the shrimp plate in Shark Cove is delicious. Promise not to stalk you at Costco, Cousin G.
A great tour of the island, definately a must. Cousin G our driver and host for the day was amazing and funny. Lots of information and local knowledge. Totally worth the price. The mini bus was comfy and air conditioned very pleasant ride for our day.
This was our best tour during our trip. We had “Uncle Kevin” as our guide and he did a great job making sure we saw all the stuff!
It’s a full day of activities. The tour guide is very knowledgeable, nice & friendly. Would recommend to my families & friends.
This was so much better than anticipated and worth every penny! Everything was planned and accommodated for enough time to have fun! We snorkeled, battles boarded and a couple in our group did the water fall. Uncle Kevin was knowledgeable and entertaining!
AmaIng trip. Lots of choices no pressure. It was like having our on car and a guide. Best of both worlds Sam was our driver. He was very knowledgeable and super friendly.
Kevin was a great tour leader and guide and took good care of everyone on the bus! He was very knowledgeable and inquired about what we wanted to see and do.
Uncle Kevin is the best! His insight into local history is just as amazing as his knowledge of current activities and food spots to visit. He truly wants to know what kind of fun you want to have and he delivers. Uncle Kevin makes this tour a one of a kind if you want to enjoy the North Shore.
A remarkable experience! I chose The Surf Bus for 2 reasons: one, they have amazing reviews and two, because its the only one that pick you up from the west side resorts. I took the activity with my family and was simply amazing. The driver Sam, was super kind, knowledgeable and professional. The sightseeings are breathtaking. And the highlight of the day for us was the kaiak activity where we had the chance to see turtles (very big ones btw) Highly recommended! Dont think twice!
EXCELLENT way to experience the North Shore! My brother, husband, and I had a great, active, and memorable day. It was great to stay in one area of the island and do and see so many things in the North Shore. Each activity lasted for about 1.5-2.5 hours and that was such a refreshing pace to go at when on a tour. We chose snorkeling on Shark’s Cove and paddle boarding in Hal’iwa. We got to see 5 sea turtles while paddle boarding! Another highlight was going to the Matsumoto Shave Ice store which was DELICIOUS! The line was long but worth it! The guide, Uncle Kevin, was so kind and personable. He was very knowledgeable and kept it real and relaxed with us. His demeanor was so easy going too- loved that he added a few stops to our tour like a fruit shack run by some of his relatives. Would definitely recommend this tour!
The bus showed up on time at 8 AM, and after about 10 minutes we were on our way. There were 3 families of 4 on the bus, including our family. As we headed north to Haleiwa, Sam the driver had a lot of interesting information to share about Oahu and the North Shore that we appreciated as first-time visitors to the island. He also explained the agenda and options for the day. Our first stop was in Haleiwa, where we had 15 minutes to visit the restroom and/or get a preview of the town where we would end up for a longer visit later in the day. Then we got back on the bus for a drive north along the shore, where we saw a number of beaches and views of high waves, including at Weimea Bay where “The Eddie” had been held a couple of weeks previous to our visit. We stopped at Sunset Beach Park for a brief stroll along the beach. Back at the bus it was time to choose an activity for the morning. The options were snorkeling, bicycle riding on a path along the shore, or a visit to the Weimea Valley Park. Surfing or body boarding were not options, because the waves were too high. Everyone chose to visit the Weimea Valley. The park has a paved path surrounded by a beautiful botanical garden. Along the path there are historical archives in huts with docents available to discuss. The path ends at a waterfall that empties into a pond where you can take a refreshing swim, which we did. Life jackets were available for no charge and are required for anyone who goes in the water. Our total roundtrip time on the path was about 2 hours, taking time to photograph plants, visit a few huts, and swim in the pond. We purchased lunch at the snack bar, and had drinks from the coffee house, both of which were very good. We had about a 10-minute wait for the bus, which then took us to Haleiwa for our afternoon activities, either kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding. My wife and I shared a kayak, while our two kids chose paddle boards. We went up a canal that leads to the ‘Anahulu River. It was a nice, leisurely excursion. We did that for only about a half hour, because we wanted to see and shop in Haleiwa. Haleiwa has a number of island-wear stores, dining locations, jewelry shops, art galleries, and a couple of places to get shave-ice. We spent about an hour in town, purchasing some island wear and getting some shave-ice, which was very popular. The bus took us to one last stop, a macadamia nut farm stand, where we were able to sample some coffees and macadamia nuts prepared in various ways. We spent 15 minutes there, and then headed back to the hotel, with Sam sharing more information about the sights along the way. The trip concluded at around 4:50 PM. The tour gave us exactly what we were looking for—a satisfying combination of sightseeing, physical activity, shopping and dining.
Number One ! Best choice we could make. Kevin was awesome. The Surf Bus is the only way to go and have the perfect North Shore adventure. Kevin made this trip and The Surf Bus team knows how to put together a true adventure!
Cousin G made our tour fun from start to finish. His knowledge and love of the island as well as his friendly and fun personality made this an amazing experience. Highly recommend the hike to the Waterfall. It’s a short and easy hike for all ages, but the scenery is spectacular! Swimming in the falls is so cool is every sense…water is cool but worth it! Cousin G also stops at some awesome local food stands to experience delicious food and local color. Wonderful tour and great day.
Our driver Sam was awesome! Super friendly & knowledgeable. We loved the North Shore. So beautiful! The macadamia nut farm was very cool!
Sam was a fantastic driver and guide. He gave a good over view of the whole island. He had wonderful suggestions. We enjoyed the waterfall and botanical gardens, and had fun kayaking. A great taste of O’hau.
Great day with guide Cousin G. Lots of ground covered and activities. Kayaking with the turtles was my favorite part!
What a fun experience. The tour guide was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We saw turtles, snorkeled, kayaked and the hike was amazing as well. Felt like a family experience even with the strangers we didn’t know at first. Highly recommend
This is my second time with this tour and I had a great time Uncle Kevin is the reason we came back. He made the trip so welcoming and we had so much fun. I will definitely book again when I visit in the future and I hope to get Uncle Kevin again.
Cousin G was amazing!! Very engaging and patient. Very willing to share hi knowledge. I would definitely take it again.
Cousin G is the best guide!! Funny, friendly, knowledgeable, great with kids! The tour was awesome! We saw so many things and was able to choose our own adventure! By the time we parted at the end of the day we were all Ohana!!
Cousin G was awesome! Very accommodating and did everything he possibly could to make our trip great! Did kayaking, paddle boarding, rock jumping, and snorkeling. Stops at Macadamia Nut shop and North Shore shopping (for turtle milk ice cream) were great! If possible, request Cousin G for your tour. He will no doubt make it a great experience, and hue has some great dad jokes as well to entertain you.
We were able to experience several different activities and amazing views of Hawaii! The day went too fast! ❤️❤️
This trip was so amazing and Uncle G made it even more special. He went out of his way to make sure we saw and had time for everything!!
Cousin G was our guide and he was very accommodating. He was an excellent guide, he was conscious of the time and tried to pack as much as possible into the excursion. We are so thankful we were led by him because he was very informative and proud of the island he grew up! We had a great day with our family.
Cousin G was an awesome guide. He added great color to a perfect day. The food trucks had great choices.
We had a fantastic day on this tour with my two kids, age 10 and 12. Very active tour where you can choose to hike through the botanical gardens to the waterfall and swim or choose snorkeling or biking at a close by beach. We had already completed the hike up to Waimea Falls on an earlier “Majestic Circle” tour. We chose biking and it was a great experience. Lunch options include food truck style options which were delicious, including shrimp dishes and a Mexican style option. The next phase of the trip was going to a kayak/standup paddleboard center and doing your chosen activity in the local water. Super fun experience. I never had experience with a standup paddleboard and both me and my 10-year-old daughter enjoyed it very much. My husband and other daughter opted for a double kayak, which they also loved. There are some local shops in the area if you like to shop. The tour guide, cousin G, was fantastic with good use of time while keeping everything feeling relaxed. He was super funny and knowledgeable This was my kids favorite tour. The tours we had completed throughout the trip were the majestic Circle tour as well as the 4 hour Pearl Harbor tour both of which were from a different company but also very good.
My family and I loved this experience!! We did the kayaking under the Rainbow Bridge on the Anahulu River. We also went to Waimea State Park and did the nature hike to the waterfall. We had a great time and made wonderful memories!!! Cousin G was our tour guide. He was so funny and made the bus ride enjoyable!
We had a wonderful trip to the North Shore. Cousin G, our driver & tour guide, was very helpful and very funny. We had a great time paddle boarding, snorkeling and shopping! Thanks for the adventure!
The tour was a lot of fun, mainly because of the tour bus driver, Cousin G. He is so funny and really looks out for the people on his tours. He is also very accommodating for folks who had special requests. The Itinerary is not set in stone and that is a good thing, since weather, tides and traffic can all be issues. We went to a Macadamia nut farms first and then did our one hour activity at Haleiwa Beach Park. We were going to pass on this activity but I am so glad we did not. It was so easy and so much fun kayaking and seeing the sea turtles in the river. It was beautiful! We wore tennis shoes and just took them off for the Kayaking and that was fine. You will need a swim suit for this as you will get a little wet from the oars. I wish I had a dry bag for my phone so I could have taken pictures. There were only a couple of changing rooms and the floors inside were wet from recent rain, so if you can put on your bathing suit ahead of time, that would be great. For women, a two piece or tankini would be best. Then some light weight shorts and a cover all or loose lightweight shirt. The tide was very low for snorkeling, so most people opted for the hike to Waimea Falls and maybe a dip in the water. Hubby and I did not swim in the falls, but spent more time looking at the lovely botanical gardens. There are places to get food at the longer activity stops and later in the town of Haleiwa.
Kevin was very knowledgeable and proud of his home city. His good humor was contagious. It was a Very well organized and timely visit. We enjoyed it a lot.
Great tour!!! Sam our guide was great, very knowledgeable about the island!!! We really enjoyed the tour!! Thank you
Great day out on a relaxing and fun trip! Sam the driver was excellent in making sure everyone got what the wanted, and our 5 and 8yo had a blast! We did snorkeling and the water falls and ate some great food :)
Cousin G was a fantastic guide. Between his Hawaiian heritage and knowledge of the islands he made the trip extremely pleasant.
Tour was amazing and Cousin G was the best guide we have had on any tour. Make sure you request him. Worth every penny. Make sure you have swim shoes for the falls.
Cancelled with less than 2 hours notice. Voicemail left at after 7am for a 9AM departure. I was unable to make any other arrangements - I was held to a 24 hour cancel policy but they didn’t extend the same courtesy.
Cousin G was the best! Positive vibes. A+ dad jokes. Got through traffic well. Enjoyed kayaking and hiking and swimming in the waterfalls. Also loved the pit stops at the macadamia hut!
Great experience from pick up to drop off. Tour guide (Cousin G) was great. Taught us a lot about Oahu while we traveled. Our group chose to swim at the waterfall at the Waimea State Park, which was a blast. Could have spent more time at the state park, but then we headed to snorkeling, which was the best snorkeling I have ever done. Then headed into town for a quick trip of shopping and delicious homemade ice cream. It was a full day but we had a ton of fun! Highly recommend (kids are 13, 15, and 17).
