Great company for south site manta viewing! I love this company, and they’ve secured the spot as my go to when on island and wanting to view mantas at the south site! Deavon (ops and coordination), Capt Dave, in water guide Greg, and crew member Khalayla were all incredible when I went out with them on Monday 10/26, and I look forward to getting out again while on this trip! We saw a few mantas who were hugging the reef on this trip, on past trips they’ve been more in an acrobatic mood and ventured to the surface more. They are a majestic and incredible animal, and I’d highly recommend this trip (and have and continue to) to visitors! My niece went out with them four years ago with me, as did visiting family, and they all found it to be magical! In addition - if you’re unsure about the boat ride, going out from here mitigates that (it is just a few minute ride to the site), and the crew ensures you feel good and have a positive experience. Absolutely book with them! Also - be sure to tip your crew as they work hard and deserve it!

So much fun! Never night snorkeled before and it was a super cool experience. All staff were great and professional. All instructions were very clear. We saw up to five mantas at once! Remarkably beautiful experience.
Seeing the manta rays and having them so up close was absolutely magical. The Dream Team made sure we had the best experience possible - Deavon made sure everyone was prepared before getting on the boat, Capt. David navigated us safely to our location with the help of Andrew, and Leo spat incredible manta-facts while they were feeding below. Would definitely go again and highly recommend this crew to whoever wants the experience of a lifetime.
Very Short boat ride which was what we wanted. No need for a wetsuit. Koa, Kilayla and Greg - and Devin and Mel, were awesome!! Manteria came right up to us!!! Amazing!
The tour operator did a good job. They looked after my 9 yo good. My only complaints is the small boat and you can’t take anything on board, not even wear your water shoes. That sucked and made climbing up the ladder more difficult. Also you have to rent wet suits and vests so if you do this it’s the same price as the larger tour operators with big comfortable catamaran. We went twice in one week 1st week in October 26’ but no mantas. Sadly they were on vacation. I’ve scuba dived in Kona 7 times with lots of mantas every time so this trip was disappointing. This company did honor their no see mantas get a free trip to do it again. After 2 nights of no mantas we decided to skip a 3rd try. The people operating this boat did a great job but I personally will go out on a bigger boat next time. Luckily it’s only a 5 minute ride to the mana site. This tour is also very short at only 25 minutes where most companies are 40 to 45. When the sea is rough or no mantas then you want the shorter tour time. 😉 this smaller ribbed inflatable boat did not rock any more then a catamaran in case your concerned about motion sickness. I take lots of ginger to offset motion sickness anyway. All in all the tour operator is more reliable then the manta rays are. 😆
I recommend that you try this adventure at least once, this was my 4th time and I would do it again! Never get tired of seeing the Mantas! They come so close to you, it’s a memory you never forget.
Said they hadn't seen mantas that day or the day before. Knowing we were leaving the next day, guide promised a refund if we didn't see any. It was a lie and the owner hung up on me when I called the next day as instructed to get a refund. What a scam. Go with SeaQuest. Much more reputable, I had a great experience with them in 2025.
Deacon and the whole crew were so friendly and knowledgeable. We had an amazing experience highly recommend.
Amazing tour! Smooth check-in and -out and professional crews. Big shout out to Deavon, Koa, Kanana and Greg who kept us safe and made the tour enjoyable. We saw four mantas, they were so close to us (don’t touch them). Still feel surreal, an unforgettable experience.
Had an amazing experience! Everyone was wonderful and really helped ease my kids minds about the trip. They loved the manta snorkel and we booked another excursion for later in the week that night!
Amazing manta ray night snorkeling experience! Deavon was our host and communication was great, with advance notice before we headed to the meeting area. We saw 3–4 manta rays swim just inches away from us. It was incredible to see these gentle giants up close! The crew was friendly, funny, and Greg was so knowledgeable, and did a great job educating us and answering our questions, making the experience truly unforgettable. Definitely worth the money! Tip: expect a possible delay in the start time, but they’ll let you know in advance, and definitely bring a waterproof phone case.
OK so we were one of the groups where we tried a 2nd time because the first experience was terrible. Water was rough, it was pouring rain on us the entire time, and the organizer assigned for the day was unorganized and all over the place. We did not see Mantas that night but the entire experience was not good and we almost did not try again. We finally decided to give it another go and Devin was the coordinator that night and he was great. So detailed and clear instructions. Overally there should be clearer instructions as to where the meetup spot is - yall need a sign or something to just indicate we need to find a white van. Its nice that they guarantee multiple tries until you see Mantas but that might not always work with your travel schedule.
It is a very quick tour but Cody was a great guide who taught us a lot about the manta rays! We saw one manta ray named Kenzie but it kept coming back and got really close to us. Wish we got to see more but at least she kept coming back! I was scared of touching it since I didn't want it to get hurt but luckily she just kept swimming by and showing off her majestic self! Kalela, Roy, Cody, and Deavon were very helpful.
Great experience. Went at 7:20pm and lots to see. Deavon, Cody, Leo and Dave were great and knowledgeable. They helped out my parents who are older and a little hard of hearing.
Absolutely terrible customer service from trip advisor. The trip was canceled due to bad weather. I was sent a link to rebook and it doubled the cost to rebook for the next day. Trip advisor refused to honor the original price I paid. I spent 1.5 hours on the phone trying to escalate in order for them to rebook me with the same price. They refused to help me or honor the price I originally paid. Book directly with the company. Avoid trip advisor at all costs.
Cancelled day off, wouldn’t answer my phone call, then answered and told me to stop calling because they had 100+ reservations to call and cancel.
It was amazing.. Leo was a great guide and a wealth of information. All our questions were answered. The whole crew was incredibly helpful with our family members needing to get back to the boat. Would highly recommend
It was amazing to see the manta rays. Unfortunately, the guides were quite unprofessional. Making snarky comments and yelling at guests was their norm. Especially for those guests who did not speak good English. It was embarrassing to watch. I would recommend going with a different group. This experience could have been so much better.
Having manta rays swim right below you is one of the coolest experiences. They are so beautiful and would swim right up to us. One came and brushed my husband's arm while he was holding onto the light board. I've been swimming with mantas before but this experience was so much better! There were so many mantas. Even a baby one! This is a must do!
We spent 30 min in water in total. Only in the last 1-2 min we can barely see a Manta from really far away.
We were in very choppy turbulence and the water was very murky. Big waves and hard to hold on. We only saw one manta ray in extremely murky water. Saw him far off. Make sure you go on a descent weather night. The crew and staff were great, just no mantas. Felt like we had been beaten up by the time we got off the boat. People were throwing up because the sea was so rough.
This is a very unique experience. Manta Rays are inches away. The boat drive is only 3 minutes so it’s friendly to people who have sea sickness
This was an amazing experience! The crew was extremely nice, funny, and knowledgeable.
This is a company that only cares about how much they can make and how quick they can make it. After many fabulous wildlife tours around the world I can say this is one of the worst. They bombard you on the entire tour asking for tips but are not helpful. The guide could not assist a woman who needed help with her mask. I also felt bad for taking a tour that promotes unnatural feeding of manta. If you want to do a tour maybe try hang loose they were great on other tours we took.
The tour was excellent, with many different times to choose from. We were able to see 4 adult mantas and 1 baby! The tour is worth the cost of marine life is your jam. Their rebooking policy is also very attractive! It was a relatively short visit of around an hour but most of that time was spent in the water (30~ mins) with mantas and only a few minutes on a boat. Kayla and Rory were helpful crew members and captains respectively. Greg was in the water with us and was a particularly engaging guide with fantastic knowledge of the individual mantas. He made the experience stand out! Small crowd size was great for a personal experience and the atmosphere was electric when the mantas arrived! Best for marine enthusiasts and nature lovers!
Second time around for us. Instructions online and through text messages are very clear and helpful. Host at the beginning gives clear instructions on what to expect (with visuals). This time around it took a few minutes — guide had to warm our group up to making some noise. Saw two huge rays. Was really incredible. If you have the money, because it’s not cheap for a family of four, do it. It’s a fun experience you can’t to everywhere. Some other pros, love how they are explicit about not touching the rays. It’s the first rule and instruction they give.
What an incredible experience. Seeing these gentle giants up close was amazing. 5 minutes in a boat and then into the water by sailing from Keauhou. Micah, Leo, and Cody were fantastic.
The crew were great. Very knowledgeable and helpful. They added fun to the experience. This is a must see for a trip Kona!
No manta rays showed up when we went on the trip. They told us on the boat that they have a 93% success rate, but some of the other things they said suggested otherwise. There is nothing fun about this trip if the rays don't show up. The company does let you go on another ride free if you see no rays, but the rides we were available for were already full. So, no rays and no second trip. That's a lot of money to pay to see plankton.
See absolutely nothing. It was just a boat ride. Offered to come back again for free. Others who were on the boat said they been back 3 times already
This is a good experience if you just wanna get on a little boat, jump off the side for the experience. If you want a more unique personalized experience, go on a larger boat. Koa, Gary and Keala were great! It was so cool and a little scary! Only because it's dark. Highly recommend this excursion. I've been coming to the island for years and this is the only thing I hadn't done and it is one thing I will do again and again.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS GROUP. ANY GROUP BESIDES THIS ONE. Seriously seriously seriously UNORGANIZED, UNPROFESSIONAL, LAZY!!!!!!!!! I was trying to get ahold of the “office” all day which is in Texas and they said the reason I was never responded to after trying to reach them all day was because they are 5 hours ahead of time. Devin the manager didn’t respond until 9:30pm when I thought I was doing a manta tour at 10:30pm. They then informed me that there was no space on the boat and that happens quite often that they have to rearrange people or cancel people. Just don’t do it, go somewhere that is legit, that has an office, that have people who reach out to you, and that actually care about your experience.
It was an awesome experience!!! Mahalo🙌🙌 The manta rays came out to play and it was incredible!!!!
Majestic!! Do it…I am so glad I did! The guides, Greg, Kiara and Rory were incredible and made the experience easy and enjoyable.
Be ready to be disappointed. Although staff can’t control the manta rays, At check in I asked how likely is it that we don’t see manta rays, the young lady told me it is very rare guests don’t see them. Then after we got out of the water and started heading back to the dock, the guide asked who was leaving the following day, half the guests raised our hands, her follow up of, “lesson learned, don’t book an experience like this on your final night” was not necessary. My daughter worked her butt off to learn to swim this summer so we can snorkel and do the night manta ray experience so she was already disappointed so after she heard that comment she felt worse because we were not going to have another night to try. Additionally, the lights of the platforms might have not been working properly, I heard one of the guides tell another staff to hold the next group so she can fix the lights.
Micah and the crew were amazing. We had an awesome tour with up close and personal manta experience!!! My only wish is that I would have gone sooner in my trip so I could have done this again and again!!! Such an awe inspiring experience to be in the sea with these Giants. The cost of the tour was perfect. The time in water and time with the Mantas was magical. The length of the tour was just right! Not enough good to say about the tour and this crew.
What an unforgettable manta ray adventure! We were lucky enough to see Milky Ray, who danced beneath our light several times, it was absolutely magical. We also spotted Hawaii’s famously tricky-to-pronounce humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa, along with colorful schools of fish swimming below us. Our guide Greg did a wonderful job leading us through the dark waters off Kona, and we felt completely safe and well cared for the entire time. It was exciting, beautiful, and so much fun, truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we highly recommend! 🌊✨
Incredible experience up close with the mantas. We were action packed the entire time and all of the family enjoyed the experience Staff was great too
The front of the boat was able to catch a brief glimpse of a manta ray, but unfortunately our family didn't get the experience we had hoped for. We were told we could rebook another trip under the satisfaction guarantee, which we really appreciated. However, the rebooking process was extremely difficult. I tried on two different days to reschedule but had a hard time getting a response. I was instructed to call the morning of the tour to check availability. After several attempts, I finally got through and was told to call back one hour before the tour. When I called again an hour before, I was then told to call after 7:00 p.m. Unfortunately, when I tried again after 7:00 p.m., I was unable to reach anyone. Our children were especially disappointed that they never had the opportunity to go back out. While we appreciated the satisfaction guarantee, the rebooking process made it nearly impossible to actually use it. I hope the communication and rebooking system can be improved so future guests are able to take advantage of the guarantee without so much difficulty.
I think this company should consider revamping their systems, especially when at the dive site. It was choppy and chaotic, and the person who was trying to swim/pull us out there was stressed, out of breath, and low key yelling at us to get the float on our feet, which was stressful for the people who were struggling. Having two people in the water would be safer overall. We only stayed at the site for about 15 minutes. I’m not sure if this was normal or not, because we did have a medical emergency during this trip, but that being said no refunds were given.
My best friend and I decided to do something we’ve never done before, and we’re glad we did. Such a cool and incredible experience, the boat captain was incredibly knowledgeable, and seeing the manta rays was breathtaking. Do this before leaving big island!
Awesome experience, very friendly and helpful people who were working the tour. We were thankful enough to see a manta ray on our first visit! Would highly recommend this to anyone interested and definitely rent the GoPro if it’s available!
Great people. Very relaxed vibe but still very knowledgeable. Pretty sure they are even priced the best. You won't be disappointed.
10/10 experience! We saw at least 5 mantas it was worth every penny! They will offer to rent you wet suits etc but they are definitely NOT necessary as they give you what is needed. The guide will move you in the water to help ensure you see mantas! 100% worth the money.
The crew was very nice and knowledgeable and we had a great experience. They make sure you see the Manta Rays and have a good system going. We had a great time! Shoulders are sore from holding on to the float but worth it! Thank you!
Absolutely ridiculous experience. This company overbooked our tour and then acted like it was our problem. We showed up expecting to do the tour we had booked, only to find out there wasn’t room for us because they had sold more spots than they could actually accommodate. What made it even worse was their response. There was no real apology, no effort to make things right, and no meaningful solution offered. They basically shrugged their shoulders and left us stuck after ruining our plans. If you’re thinking about booking with this company, be aware that your reservation apparently doesn’t guarantee anything. The lack of accountability and customer service was honestly shocking. Would not book with them again. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere
This was a terrible experience. They canceled on us twice in one week when we rescheduled and were being very patient. Terrible customer service as well when they told us they would give us another appointment it was too late. We couldn’t get one swim in a week. They are unreliable and unprofessional.
Very unorganized. My family and I tried to book this trip for our 7-day Kona trip. When it was cancelled the first timer they rescheduled us for another day after a hassle dealing with their phone system. We rebooked for our last night before departure. Upon arrival (after a 1.5 hr drive) we were notified that our trip was canceled with no notice. I’d recommend using another company for this excursion if you want to actually experience it.
Beyond amazing!!! Wow! If you have the chance, go out to see the manta rays! Danielle the captain was friendly, helpful and did a great job. Lucas and Dylan helped get us set up in the water and the mantas did the rest. What a fantastic experience!
We saw 4 mantas but agree that the sales pitch is hard and pretty abrasive. We had a great experience and chose this company so that we could rebook if mantas were a no show. However, I could wear long sleeves all summer and I didn’t wear a wet suit. Long sleeve rash guard and I was fine. The Go Pro would be so hard to hold and stay a float that I don’t know how you would even manage that. We had a good experience but could skip the sales pitch and the abrasive attitude.
