Absolutely amazing!! Our guide Olivia knew everything about the history and about the ghost experiences, she let us use their emf detectors. The walk was beautiful. Such a cool experience. A member of our group was named Kathy and her full name was Kathleen but we never said her full name and it appeared on the ghost detector app. Also I found what I think could be a ghost sitting at the top of the stairs of the church. Creepy!! Anyways I 100% recommend purchasing this tour it was amazing. You walk from the entrance of Kona inn bar and grill all the way to kamakahonu beach and stop at places along the way. Thank you so much for an amazing tour!!

Itinerary
Built on ancients grounds, the Kona Inn was responsible for ushering in the era of tourism in Kona. The site was formerly home to King Kamehameha II and is known as "papa'ula" or "red flats" as there may have been human sacrifice here as well. End the tour with a cleansing sage smudge at the new Big Island Ghost Tours booth.
Will the ghostly "lady in white" of the palace show herself again? Was it Pele, or Princess Kaiulani? We've witnessed her on tour once before...and then she disappeared!
The lava rock cornerstones of Hawaii's very first Christian church were formerly part of an ancient Hawaiian temple, built hundreds of years in the past. This newly introduced religion eventually led to events that are considered Hawaii's civil war and the end of the ancient Kapu system.
A former sacrificial heiau (luakini) dedicated to the god Ku where human sacrifice was performed, then later rededicated by King Kamehameha to the god Lono as a temple of peace.
This is the location where King Kamehameha I transitioned into the next life, and also the site of ancient human sacrifice.
The central meeting place in downtown Kona, where missionaries arrived bringing western religion to the islands.

Purchased three tickets for the tour. Arrived early at designated spot down in Kona. Location was an empty was an empty storefront. Nobody ever showed up 15 minutes after start time of the tour. I received a call from the Guide asking where we were. Shared that we were at the location specified on our ticket. She stated that they had relocated to another place which we were not aware of. I was informed that someone would contact us. It’s been two days, we have still not heard from anyone. I would not recommend using this site.
Olivia was very knowledgeable about the history of the island. She showed us where some sightings have happened. Those ghosts/spirits didn’t want to talk to us. It was very interesting and she did a great job!
It was really informative and a nice walk. The guide answered questions, was more than understanding about how difficult it was to find parking.
More then a ghost tour, lots of history about the Kona area and Hawaii in general, our guide was for informative and knowledgeable, easy to talk to and ask questions of. If your a history buff or a paranormal buff you will enjoy
Landed in Kona in the late afternoon and was looking for a night tour, this was a fun thing to do and thanks Olivia for the awesome tour
Great experience! Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We ended up being the only family on the tour which added a personal touch. Learned so much about the big island’s culture!
Good tour with lots of historical details about the area. My teens really enjoyed the stories! Lots of info about Hawaiian culture and the paranormal activity associated with all of the deaths in this area.
This was a great tour with lots of information about the history of the village and some Big Island urban legends. It wasn't really scary but it was interesting to learn about ancient warriors and royalty, as well as some modern day spirit sightings. The tour went down the main street of the Kona Inn Shopping Village. Weaving in and out of old buildings, our tour guide Jenna told us stories about when the town was first built and showed us how to look for paranormal activity using the provided detection devices. There were many pieces of ancient history hidden in plain sight that you wouldn't be aware of before having done this tour. Jenna was friendly and knew a lot about the culture and history of Hawaii.
I was very disappointed with my experience trying to book a tour with Kona Supernatural Tours. We had originally scheduled a ghost tour for Monday evening, but received a text message from the owner, Zach, asking if we would be willing to reschedule to the following night, as he had made prior plans with his girlfriend to watch a movie. While I was delayed in responding, as I was driving at the time, Zach then cancelled the tour altogether, stating that it "didn't seem like it would work." When I asked if the next evening option was still available, as he had originally offered, his response was unprofessional and unwarranted. He accused me of being unwilling to accommodate him, and went as far as calling me "a joke." What's more, when I expressed my concerns, Zach dismissively told me, "leave a review, it won't matter much." This gross attitude towards customer feedback is extremely troubling and indicative of a company that does not value its clientele. I understand plans can change, but Zach's unprofessional and dismissive attitude in handling the situation was quite disappointing. I would caution others looking to book a ghost tour in Kona to reconsider using this company , as it seems they do not prioritize customer service or maintaining a professional demeanor when issues arise. It's unfortunate, as the tour concept seemed intriguing, but the owner's behavior has left a sour taste. I would recommend exploring other ghost tour options in the Kona area.
We had a great time learning about the history of past residents of the area, some who still hang around in spirit. It was great to hear about the islands belief in respect of your surroundings and how the spirits enforce that attitude. Thank you for a fun time with the group and our "ghost app"
My husband & I really enjoyed learning the history of Kona which provided the background for the haunted tour. Zach our guide was so knowledgeable & also passionate about the material he presented along the way. He was so nice, respectful to our group & the island. Do yourself a favor & book this trio if you’re looking to spend an evening doing something out of the ordinary while also learning the history of Kona.
He was nice but expected more out of the ghost tour. We did not get to go inside the palace or the church. It was more of a history lesson of the island.
Our host was kind and knowledgeable about the history of the island and town. I would recommend this tour,
I enjoyed what we heard but there was not 2 hours of content. It finished after an hour 20! Weird to be left at a different place than the tour started too. I just think the price needs to be lowered if they're cutting off 40 min.
I never made it to Hawaii. The day before we were set to fly out we had an unexpected death. I tried to call and was told it was not refundable. To be fair it is stated on the website. However, my hotel was also non refundable and I had a rep call me back the next day and gave me a full refund. My suggestion is to not book anything until you actually get to Hawaii. We do plan to try again next year. I seriously doubt I will attempt to book this tour again. It is tied to bad memories now. However I will use Southwest Airlines-full refund. Black rock car rental-full refund. Club Wyndham Moana loa-full refund. These companies have made a difficult and dark time a bit easier with their compassion and understanding.
This is the biggest scam. We did absolutely nothing paranormal or ghost tour like except for listen to stories and look at an ipad with photo shopped pictures, of other people's encounters?? We paid $120 each as a gift for xmas we were given $30 worth of food. It was listed as A HAUNTED FOOD TOUR. We did nothing at all except for sit in restaurants and hear some bogus history and not true facts. Definitely not the guides fault, she needs to be trained better. We got to the last restaurant so late they didn't even want us there. While walking we heard stories about how the church was made, and about a human sacrifice stone on the lawn of the palace.(from across the street) No paranormal anything? When we brought it to the attention of Zach the owner his response was"the restaurants took to long so they didn't have time for the tour part??? WHAT??none of us wanted to go to the restaurants at all. He said "that wasn't our fault". It was horribly organized, no structure, way over priced and the 6 folks we were with who paid $90 each plus all their own food and drink felt the same way. In fact on his web site the same tour is at $60 and he won't refund us anything??? It was shocking how horrible it was we just wanted to leave but kept thinking, there must be something coming?? Nope. Not sure how this company gets away with ripping guests off like this? If you actually look all the reviews are older. Your best bet is DO NOT BOOK IT
Loved hearing all the history in Kona in spots you would never know happened. Very informative and unique.
Jenna was our tour guide and she was exceptional!!! We learned so much about the history of the island. Things are present that you walk by and don't even know. I highly rate this excursion.
We enjoyed hearing about the little girl that was washed away at the seawall, and we did get some orbs in our photos
The tour started out great but was stopped after 30 min due to rain . The tour guide was amazing and very informative.
Great experience! Zach is a very knowledgeable guide and had many interesting photos from previous tours.
This was such a fun night! Zach was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the history of Kona alive for this tour. The food was a bonus! We all were fascinated with the stories and the history! 10/10. Definitely worth the experience!
Had an awesome experience on the second day of my trip. Learned a lot about the island's historical background. Zach was super nice and really knew his stuff. I'd definitely be up for another tour!
Tour was fun and provided great insight into Hiwaiian history. Zach was very knowledgeable about the local haunted history
I enjoyed everything. Guide was knowledgeable and allowed our group to explore throughout the entire tour. The sights are amazing.
The guide was very informative and engaging. Made the landscape feel alive. This photo looks to have a shadow ghost in it, right next to the emf detector.
Zach was very knowledgeable about the royal ghost history of the Island and was very entertaining and enthusiastic. I’ve been on many ghost tours, and this was by far the best one I’ve ever been on!
Zach was our tour guide and he created a path between the seen and the unseen and the possibilities were opened wide. He was devoted to the details and to the group and did not rush. Beautiful place Kona so much fascinating history, Mahalo Zack
The background history and story telling was amazing. Everyone was included in the journey and investigation. One of the best tours in Kona for history. The whole family loved it!
Great tour and knowledgeable guide Zac, we all had fun hearing about rich history of the island. Bonus: Also includes signed book.
This is really a history tour done at night with a bit of ghost stories. Lady was nice but hard to hear and was not able to keep crowd entertained which would have been good since it was not truly a "ghost" tour.
It was alright. Not what I expected. Could have been completed during the day. Given meters to hold that would determine if spirits where in the area. Stood in front of Palace and told others had seen spirits ofthr Princess. Informed about finds in the church and her finds at Fish Hopper. Left the tour at that point doesn't return to where you start.
Ryot's review (7 years old): "It was so good. I would rate it 99 stars. I thought this was a really really good tour. Steve was our person who walked us around and explained the stories. We both like YouTube. My favorite part was when you told us about the 4-year-old boy Prince Albert, that was really creepy when they saw him playing in the corner and outside. That was so scary. I loved it. I would definitely say you should go to this!!🤩🤩🤩
One of the best ghost tours we've been on, and we've been on close to a dozen across numerous cities. Our guide was fantastic. He was informative and really knew the region. It was a great mix of history and paranormal exploration.
I 100 percent believe in ghosts and other paranormal phenomena. This was the perfect mix of history, legends, and first-hand accounts.
Did the Kona Haunted Ghost Tour with Zach as our guide. It was was nice mix of history and lore. Pictures and evps from previous tours were shown, and we were given the option to do our own investigation. Zach's enthusiasm and passion showed throughout the tour. I highly recommend.
We had a great evening with Joei! We learned so much about the darker side of Kona. We would suggest wearing sneakers for the tour. Thank you!
Our tour guide was super informative! We really enjoyed our tour! We learned a lot about the history of Hawaii!
The history was interesting. I think our guide was trying to hard to make the paranormal more believable. Nothing happened on our tour so he was desperate to make us believe in hauntings.
This was a super fun paranormal/historical tour of the area. Steve was very knowledgeable and we even captured some spooky readings on the EMF lights! Would highly recommend this tour for anyone open to the paranormal!
Fun to learn history of the island . No paranormal activity during our experience. A book was gifted at the end along with a smudging.
Very informative tour. Learned so much about Hawaiian culture and history. Our guide, Steve, did an amazing job of setting up the possible paranormal experiences by providing the historical context. Highly recommend this tour. We will definitely book another tour on our next trip to Hawaii.
Zach was so great; he did an amazing job and his passion shines through!! Now I’m a believer in the supernatural and my husband isn’t. So it takes really great story telling to capture his attention. Zach did a great job and was so personable. We had a blast and not only did we feel the island come alive in a new was but we learned so much lore that really helped us connect with the island!
This a must-do activity when visiting the Island. Zach is not only informative but his paranormal expertise and his ability to engage all levels of ghost watchers, whether novice or experienced is wonderful. We did pick-up some actually spirit footage as well.
All the historical information was very interesting and the videos and pictures that the guide showed us were fun to see!
Guide did an excellent job! She covered ghosts, history and paranormal events. Her enthusiasm for the topic was very high and very nice! Would highly recommend this tour!
Great historical facts; Zach (our guide) was polite and engaging; and nice use of paranormal sightings with photographic evidence.
Zach is an excellent guide and is extremely knowledgeable about Hawaiian history and folklore. Our tour gave us an amazing educational and fun-filled evening visiting historical sites that came alive in his gifted storytelling and personal experiences.
We enjoyed the tour but we felt there could be some improvements. We have been on several ghost tours across the US. 1. We would have preferred more focus on the local stories and less on the host’s experiences. 2. The tour could be a loop so that we do not have to navigate the city at night for our car. 3. More walking during the ghost tour to different spots. Overall, we enjoyed the tour but there is potential for it to be better. We liked that the tour was in the downtown area and had a more lively atmosphere. Tour was about 2.5 hours
