Fun tour of a family coffee farm (and fruit trees). Guide was kind, knowledgeable and had lots of history with this farm. We enjoyed the tour very much as well as the coffee and tea we purchased.

Itinerary
Your tour of Bayview Kona Coffee Farm begins beneath the shade of coffee trees, where your knowledgeable guide will introduce you to the unique species of coffee grown exclusively in Kona. You’ll learn about the life cycle of a coffee tree, challenges the region faces (like pests and fungus), and the rich volcanic soil that makes Kona coffee world-famous. From there, walk past mango, avocado, banana, and tea plants as you make your way to our on-site mill and drying facility. See the entire coffee process firsthand—from harvesting to hulling, grading, and roasting. You'll even see our USDA-classifying machine and gravity table, which are unique to our farm. The tour concludes at our roasting room and tasting area, where you’ll sample some of the freshest 100% Kona coffee available, roasted on-site just days before. Our immersive tour offers more than just sightseeing—it’s a behind-the-scenes journey through the art, science, and passion behind every cup of Bayview coffee.

Easy, nice tour of the coffee making process. Our guide Elizabeth was fantastic. Highly recommend this for anyone who likes coffee.
This place is a great value because it's FREE. The ladies that take you on the tour are very knowledgeable and very hospitable. They also have some chihuahua's that walk the entire tour with you. Learned a lot about the coffee process from growing to drinking. Highly recommend.
Very informative great info, beautiful location and very though explanation of the whole coffee process
Great kind people. Very informative from beginning to end. Made to feel very welcomed and very comfortable. From the people all the way to the animals
It was easy to find with a big sign. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. Tour was fun & samples were great! Prices in the gift shop were reasonable & lower than retailers. Its a smaller farm so they sell what they produce in the gift shop. Parking is available & walk is not hard.
Got to tase some very delicious coffee and see the whole process of how it’s made. They grow a variety of other fruits as well. Everything was so delicious and fresh. Awesome views of the bay and ocean as well. Well worth the trip.
Yes people who work there were very personal and very nice. Talked about a lot of different things and gave you all the information on how the coffee was made very educational.
The location is stunning. They explain very well the end to end process of coffee making but we did not see any actual "production"
Fantastic tour with the nicest people. Beautiful grounds. Amazing coffee! Great gift shop too! Plus sample fruit and banana bread! Yummy!
It’s a family owned and operated coffee farm … we were warmly welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The winding drive on the mountainside to the farm was on a narrow road, surrounded by lush green and growth — absolutely breathtaking and beautiful.
Walking shoes, highly recommended. While almost all of the walking was on either paved walkways or warehouse spaces...still a fair amount of walking. Very informative to see the progress of coffee from the tree, to drying then packaging.
Had an excellent tour today! Learned so much about coffee, fruits, and trees that we did not know. It was superb coffee too! Our guide, Sherry, was exceptional!!! She was absolutely great!! I'd highly recommend this tour! It was absolutely great and my family loved it!
Friendly, knowledgeable guide who answered all of our questions about the harvesting, drying and roasting processes. The coffee itself was excellent with many varieties. The Kona Joy blend is truly unique and my favorite.
Excellent hosts! Very knowledgeable about the entire process. Tour of the entire operation and explanation of all the machinery. Great samples.
The meeting point was very far away from the Kona port / downtown. There is a Painted Church in downtown here, but that is not where the meeting point is. It is at the coffee farm itself, which is a much different Painted Church location.
Mark was a great tour guide and showed us the whole process for making coffee! We also got to sip different brews.
The guide was very informative and walked through the entire process from tree to store shelf. We also received some information about mangoes and Apple bananas. The couple we were with had taken a different tour before and didn’t get as much information as this tour.
Thank you Mark for being such a wonderful tour guide. We had a wonderful time time and the coffee was delicious. Everyone was very kind and friendly. I highly recommend the tour at Bayview farm. Melissa, Anabel and Ana .
We had such a great time at the coffee farm! It was a hot, hot day, but the quick tour made for the perfect stop on our last day in Hawaii. ☕️🌺 We loved getting to see the entire process—from how the coffee beans start growing to how they’re harvested, processed, and eventually sold locally. Such a fun experience and a great way to learn more about Hawaii’s coffee!
Very informative visit. It was interesting to learn about the numerous steps in the production of coffee.
Sharlene was informative- and shared the process for how they make their coffee! Beautiful farm- definitely worthwhile even tho we were late because we got lost!
When you are vacationing on the Big Island, I highly suggest doing the Kona Coffee Farm Tour from Tree to Tasting Room tour. It was informative and the coffee tasted great. The tour is not that long, so if you have other activities schedule, it should not interfere with the rest of your plans that day. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. It is absolutely worth it.
Guide was informative and pleasant! She gave us information about the history and how coffee is made.
Guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and patience with us.
Amazing tour! Our guide was so nice and very detailed! The coffee was also top notch! We learned the process from start to finish which was so cool!
Beautiful property with gorgeous views. Small family run farm with friendly knowledgeable staff. Very patient with our children. Very generous with samples and unique items in gift shop. It’s a bit of a drive but well worth it. Highly recommend!
I enjoyed this experience. The Bayview Kona coffee farm was nice. It’s a “boutique” coffee made in smaller batches and not sold in stores! You can buy on site and then have the website to order.
The tour was very informative. Sherry are guide was warm and welcoming. I would do this tour again with my friends.
Tour guide was knowledgeable about the coffee growing process. Really interesting. We were the only ones that showed up and we got the full tour.
It was so cute and so interesting to see the process of how coffee beans come. Everyone was amazing there
The tour was extremely informative with a very interesting guide. He was very friendly. The walking was limited but we saw the entire operation and had some good photo opportunities. Highly recommended!
it was very cool and interesting to learn about the process of making coffee. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative.
We loved the tour. It was very informative and interesting. The tasting was wonderful and we bought coffee to enjoy while we are here and some to bring home.
Super amazing tour with beautiful views! Had amazing coffee and our tour guide was super informative :)
We spent an hour or more touring the farm. It was SO interesting and beautiful! My daughter and I learned so much about the island, the area, the flora, the fauna, the coffee plants and ecological sensitivities and challenges. We got to try great coffee and take in beautiful views. Do it!
Extremely interesting and enjoyable! The tour isn’t just for coffee lovers. I was amazed at the knowledge and expertise needed to keep the operation running. And yet 11 people do it all!
Sherry was an excellent tour guide. She was so kind and very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the farm and coffee farming in general. She even gave us free banana bread!
Very informative tour. Low key and easy for kids and elderly. We loved the Kona Joy samples. The shop had cute stuff too.
It's very educational and they have a great gift shop. I loved the taste of their Joy coffee. There is bit of walking and some fairly steep inclines.
In all honesty, I went into this tour knowing next to nothing about coffee... and my idea of good coffee stretched about as far as a pumpkin spice latte. Now I can claim to have learned quite a lot and become a bit bougie about my coffee preferences... lol! The tour was very laid back and interesting, even for the kiddos. Definitely recommend this gem of a tour!
We actually arrived on the wrong day because I misread the email. That said they quickly accommodated us. The tour was great and so was the coffee. The place is amazing and the view is spectacular. We had a great time and bought a lot of coffee to take home with us.
The host was very knowledgeable and pleasant. She went through the entire process. We loved the coffee samples at the gift shop and made some purchases. We highly recommend!
Fantastic tour! Small family run farm with beautiful land!
Lots of information provided in an easy and friendly manner Very labor intensive complicated process The majority seems to be done manually
So incredibly informative about the coffee process from tree to mug. The history and tour of the land was so cool
Super insightful about coffee and the best experience! We learned so much! Would definitely recommend to others
Nice tour to fill some time and learn about coffee in Kona. The staff is very friendly. We were looking for something to do our last day before our flight. This was a good option.
The welcome was warm and friendly. The tour very educational. What a great view! Little store to buy extra goodies.
Excellent tour. Explain the process from planting, care, harvesting the Kona coffee trees. After the harvest saw all the processes of the coffee beans.
