Kona - 5 Hours Private Fishing Charter In Kailua-kona

Do this ! We had the best time with Jason and Clayton - we took two trips and caught blue marlin and mahi. The crew made sure we knew what we were doing!

Guides were 5 stars. Did not catch any fish so that was disappointing. Expensive for a boat ride without fish!

We have a phenomenal day out with Dean and Clayton on the Ms Conduct boat! We were notified in advance that the fishing season has been slow so far and that ended up being the case for our trip out in the water. This did not take away from the experience at all though as Dean and Clayton were very knowledgeable and hospitable! The weather was great and the sky mixed with the deep blue water will be something we will remember always!

We had such a great time from start to finish! We had a great captain! Captain Dean and Crew CJ were absolutely amazing! I would do it all over again!

Can’t say enough great things about the family’s trip with Captain Brent and team! They were so helpful, explained so much in detail and my boys were thrilled to catch a short nosed spear fish! My boys want to go back each and every day! 100 percent recommended!

A great fishing adventure! Caught a 110 lb ahi tuna, saw dolphins, and enjoyed being on the boat. Crew and captain were knowledgeable and helpful.

Just like any fishing trip, sometimes you come up empty. The team worked so hard to try and make it work. Even though we didn't land any fish, they were able to make it a memorable experience for my boys and were great with the kids. Despite the fishing failure, we did get to see some dolphins!

We had an amazing day! Captain Dean and Clayton were great- friendly, knowledgeable, and persistent when it came to finding the right fishing spot. We caught two marlins!! We also had our 7 and 14 year old who had a great time. They worked with our 14 year old as he caught his marlin. Outside of fishing it was nice to relax and enjoy being on the ocean.

Was unclear about what the excursion offered, didn’t know it was only going to be 5 hrs of trolling back and forth on the coast line , the boat captain and deckhand was great people and would recommend them if that’s what kind of fishing you want , for me it was a waste of 1,000$ dollars

We had a great day fishing with Logan and Dean. My husband caught a sail fish and a short nosed spear fish, which is very rare. The weather was perfect and we even had a rainbow out at sea. Logan and Dean were great to work with and their expertise in fishing made the day a wonderful memory for our anniversary trip to Hawaii.

Clayton and Dean were super! Would 1000% book with them again. We are from TN, I got a little seasick on the ocean and they took such good care of me (providing ice cold waters and even brought out a fan)! Reel Escapes made us feel like family. We had a super good time!

I booked this activity for my husband, son in law and 13 year old grandson, not realizing that my grandson might not be able to pull in a fish due to the amount of fight the fish put up. However, Captain Brent let him sit up with him and kept him entertained and chatting while the other two tried their hand a catching the elusive blue marlin. Afterwards, I asked my grandson how he enjoyed it and he was grinning from ear to ear. The morning outing for this tour hadn't had any luck with the marlins and they didn't hold out a lot of hope for the afternoon outing but would give it a try. A few minutes out of port, my son in law hooked a blue marlin, before the instructions on how to reel it in were completed! Talk about on the job training! Not long after that, my husband also hooked a blue marlin. Captain Brent and the first mate said they didn't remember the last time they had hooked two in one outing. The boat was clean and well maintained and both captain and first mate were knowledgeable and super friendly. I honestly cannot express my appreciation enough as this was a bucket list item for both my husband and son in law. This was the one excursion my son in law specifically asked for and it could not have been a better experience.

Loved Logan and Dean. Brent was kind enough to offer us an earlier charter. We had a blast and would definitely book again. Dean the fresh poke was a plus. Mahalo and much love Dawn and Matt Hinz.

Captain Drew and deck hand Logan did an awesome job for us. Even though the fishing was sparse, we had a great time.

We had a great time. Went with my wife and two boys (12 & 14). Captain and crew were great. This is not one after another type fishing. This is trolling in search of that one bite. The potential fish of a lifetime. You need to be okay with having a nice boat ride in a beautiful place.

Captain Brent and his mate Logan were really awesome. They are so knowledgeable and professional. We really enjoyed hanging with them on the boat for 5 hours too. We caught our first fish 20 minutes in and our son got to reel it in. Caught a 15 lb Ono !! Per Brent's suggestion we took it to Ocean Chinese and they cooked it up 3 ways!! It was delicious. Such a cool "sea to table" experience. The boat was great and we had the best time.

Thank you Captain Brent and First Mate Jay for an amazing 5 hour experience on the beautiful waters of Kona!!! I personally always wished for a private fishing excursion and now was the time as I could enjoy with my recently graduated 22 year old son and his buddy! Boat was immaculate and both Brent & Jay were as fun and personable as anyone could ask for. Not just a fishing trip...but a cultural experience with new friends! We are a family of 4, 2 kids 11/13 from the Midwest. I’ve done my share of charters around the world, not a ton, but fishing is what I know and love. Cpt. Brent and his Deckhand Logan were top notch fishermen, hosts and humans! From the very second I booked on FishingBooker.com, I get a call from Brent saying he got the booking and wanted to just say “Hi” and chatted a bit with me. Totally unexpected and great service. We booked the a.m. 5-hour charter and from the second we got there and even after the friendliness and service was amazing. Our goal was to get the kids bit and have some excitement and make memories. We did all of that except getting bit, but not for lack of effort by Cpt Brent and Logan. They both were amazing in prepping us and explaining the finer details of fishing and Hawaii in general. They were amazing with the kids, keeping them engaged and excited can be hard when the fish don’t cooperate, and they succeeded amazingly. We saw a humpback, pilot whales a few dolphins and learned a ton about fishing/Kona/Hawaii. He let my son drive a bit on the way back to the harbor and it was a highlight of his for sure. Now we had no expectations of going over our time on the water, but it happened that we did and I know he was really trying to get us that one hook up. Much appreciated!! I have never had a Cpt. Of a charter be so accommodating and willing to just share his knowledge like Cpt. Brent. He even has an itinerary to help you see some highlights of the big island he was willing to share after the tour and told us to reach out anytime if we had questions on our visit. I know we will be back to the Big Island and first on our list when we do come back is to book more fishing with Reel Escapes and Cpt. Brent. It will be a core memory for us and it the hospitality we received will never go unappreciated!

Great experience fishing with Will and Jay. Both were very friendly and knowledgeable, and my teenage son ended up reeling in 2 blue marlins in our morning cruise, which made him so happy. Thanks for great memories.

We had an amazing day today with Capt William and Rooster. I had been looking forward to this trip and was hoping to catch a Blue Marlin. It was so exciting when I got to reel one in! They made the trip fun and informative. We also got to see a whale and flying fish. Highly recommend booking with them, they are very knowledgeable.

Friendly captain and crew mate. We caught a marlin within the first 45 mins or so out but that was all for the day. We loved just hanging on the boat and my Teen and adult son just loved the experience of being able to see and say they caught a blue marlin. We released it back so it could get bigger it was about 5-6ft the crew said. They were friendly and helpful and if I return will definitely book with them again.

William and Wes were a top-notch crew… Both share a love and respect for fishing these beautiful, bountiful waters and it had a positive effect on our parties hopes to catch a nice fish. It took a few hours but William found a pair of beautiful spearfish. We only landed one but that was still worth the time and money… Next time out we will book an 8-hour excursion which will allow the Captain more time to pivot to a more productive fishing spot. All-in-all this was a blast-topped by the mango-lime marinated grilled Hebi (two minutes per side max!).

Captain William and Rooster were amazing! They explained everything in detail and were there to coach us the entire way! I felt so comfortable with their expertise. Next year, we are planning to do it again. Thank you for making our adventure so special!

Brent and William were so nice! Brent explained a lot to us about fishing, tides, etc. The lures were the biggest I’ve ever seen. Fishing on Hawaii was a bucket list item for us and it was amazing!!! The day was beautiful and we enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely go again with them if we are blessed enough to come back ❤️

This had to be the coolest fishing trip anyone could have made! Worth every penny and then some. Captain Brent and Rooster were on point making us feel comfortable with everything. Hooking that 800 pound Blue Marlin ... the one that got away. Captain William and Rooster were highly skilled and knowledgeable about the local wildlife beyond their huge expertise with fishing. Great day and I will do it again next time I am in Kona.
