Kō Hana Hawaiian Rum Distillery Tour And Tasting For One

Really intimate tour of a very cool distillery. Dustin was an awesome guide. He knew about the processes and actually talked about fine details not just a script. The liquor itself was phenomenal and the aged tasting is so worth it.

What a great tour & tasting experience at the Ko Hana rum factory. JJ was our tour guide & tasting host. She was full of knowledge, facts & figures about the rum making process & tasting. A very enjoyable afternoon in a relaxed atmosphere.

The distillery is a little out of the way from most things, but worth the detour! Our guide was really knowledgeable and friendly, and made excellent suggestions for pairings with the varieties of rum and rum-based cocktails they offered.

WOWWWWW! Had no idea that there was so many types of sugar cane let alone that they could make rum!! Very cool . Learned so much about the process and barreling it. Each rum had such a distinct and unique flavor! The guide was fun and way cool along with extremely informative.

We had such a great experience at this rum distillery! The tour and tasting were both fun and informative, and our guide was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all of our questions. We really enjoyed learning more about how this specific distillery makes rum (from sugar cane instead of molasses) and, of course, getting to taste the different varieties! They sell premade cocktails made from their rum so you were able to choose between that flight or just a straight rum flight. They also have a small BBQ place - not included in the cost of the tour and tasting - attached to the distillery, and the food was awesome - a perfect addition to the experience! We arrived at the distillery early and ate before the tour and tasting. Watch the hours of operation though as I don’t believe they are open every day. They had the traditional BBQ options as well as special Hawaiian options. Between the tour, tasting, and BBQ, it was a really enjoyable visit! Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area! This was a great experience if you want to learn about a different type of Rum than the Caribbean style. Our guide Dustin was really insightful and enthusiastic. It was a great experience.

We had a lovely time visiting Ko Hana distillery. Our son enjoys rum and this was a bucket list visit. They are lovely people, the tour was fun and informative, and the tasting was excellent with many treats and special 'why not try this one too?' moments. I love their incredible bottle design...it is worthy of mention because it is beautiful.

Really enjoyed this experience! We opted for the cocktail flight. Enjoyed all the tastings including the rum and honey! Delish! Cool to learn about the rum process at a local homegrown site in Hawaii! Definitely recommend! Do NOT skip on trying the BBQ before or after your tour. LARGE PORTIONS!!

My husband and I visited Ko Hana and loved the tour Dustin gave us. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, obviously passionate about his craft. I certainly learned a lot! We enjoyed ourselves immensely and look forward to trying our chocolate rum!

Very friendly staff and the rum was amazing! The tortoise was the star of the show! They should include a whole section just for him, and maybe sell scraps or veggies to give him food. If you book the 4 PM tour, I recommend getting there about an hour or so early to have a nice BBQ lunch beforehand. I think they should include that as a recommendation to the tour. The kitchen closes at 4 PM.

Go early to beat traffic. We went at 4:00 and the Uber ride was steep! Very cool experience and a nice time.

This was a trip highlight for us. We learned so much and our two teenage children enjoyed the science and agriculture aspects of cane to rum production as well. Meeting the tortoise was also a plus. The tasting was very generous as well. My husband and I did different ones so we try more things. We ended up getting some gifts for family here, a special bottle of the chocolate rum and a bottle of their honey for the kids.

Great introduction to how rum is made, and an understanding for the crop and the distillation process. Left with a wealth of knowledge, and also some tasty rums. Highly recommend!

It’s not a very well known distillery so if you do a tour or a tasting, they are quite intimate and you can ask all the questions you’d like. We had the classic and cocktails tasting and both were very good!

The rum was good. They suggested pairings and were informative on the rum making process. Saw all the barrels and met Tony the tourtise.

Really enjoyed the distillery tour and rum sampling. It was very interesting to learn how everything is made straight from farm to bottle.

Booked on wrong island. Learned about mistake when we couldnt do tour. Notified vendor and they never responded. Be careful. Oahu and Kauai have same tour, 2 different islands!!

Informative tour, with discussion of sugar cane varietals, the distilling process, and the aging process in many different types of barrels. Tasting, of course, was great! And the cost was very reasonable. Even included a free souvenir tasting glass!

We loved the rum tour. Our guide was so kind and engaging. You could tell she was proud of the distillery and happy to work there. I did a cocktail flight and loved It!

The tour guide was very knowledgeable about how the distillery operated from cutting the sugar cane to distilling the liquid smashed from the cane and finally the barrels. We were given several different rums in a flight. W were given a rum soaked chocolate and a rum cake.

Ko Haha Distillery Rum Tour was awesome. The staff was excellent and knowledgeable. They were impressed that we too, knew a lot about the process. We can't wait until our order of rums gets delivered!

This is a fantastic tour with a really stellar distillery. Andy was our tour guide and provided an excellent tour of the operation and answered all my questions to boot. Kohana grows all their own cane from heritage varieties found on the island and create Agricole style rum from several different varieties. I love what they are doing here.

My friend and I were at Costco and they were featuring Ko Hana rum. Their sales rep suggested we take the tour. Not only did we take the tour we also had lunch onsite at Lil Piggy BBQ. Neither of us are real rum drinkers but we were blown away by the depth of flavor of their craft rums and the premade cocktails they sell as well. Victor led our tour, it was so insightful to hear about the process of making rum and that they use sustainably sourced ingredients from the island. Victor was great and very friendly…ask him about Sweden. We loved the lunch at Lil Piggy BBQ, some of the best brisket we’ve ever had. We highly recommend Ko Hana and Lil Piggy BBQ.

Ko Hana Rum Distillery does not disappoint, this is a hidden gem! Our tour guide was Bernadette, and she is extremely knowledgeable about the sugar cane, the process, and the rum. We will be back!!!!!

We stumbled upon this rum distillery tour via Viator while nearby at the Dole Plantation, which was just 10 minutes away. What a gem! Our guide JJ was fantastic—super knowledgeable about sugar cane, rum varieties, and the distillation process. We learned tons and loved the tasting session at the end. We each received a cool branded shot glass which was unexpected. It’s a trek from Waikīkī, but if you’re visiting Dole, make this your next stop. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite distilleries I've ever been to. The people are great and the rum is extremely interesting. It's obvious the people care about the product and the people who try it. It is absolutely worth the drive.
