Loved the narration and history felt like we had our own personal tour guide. The storytelling was entertaining and informative. Have already bought additional tours for future!! Thanks

Use it anytime, on any trip, as many times as you want.
It’s a recreational facility for soldiers, but its history wasn’t all fun and games. During World War II, this became an internment camp not only for prisoners of war but for innocent Japanese citizens as well.
Steam Vents are created by the heat of the Kilauea Volcano, which heats groundwater trapped in underground pockets. The steam that rises from the vents is an indicator of the volcano's underground activity.
This is where the short but sweet Sulphur Banks Trail begins. Well, I say sweet… but that’s a lie. It’s actually extremely smelly!
This spot looks out across the simply jaw-dropping and is one of the must-see spots in the park. Although the crater doesn’t look like a typical volcano, it’s actually one of the most active in the entire world!
This trail leads directly through the Kilauea Iki Crater! It’s a 3.3-mile loop that takes about three hours, but the elevation change can be strenuous.
The Thurston Lava Tube was formed over 500 years ago when molten lava flowed through the area and created a tunnel-like cave as the lava on the outside cooled and hardened while the lava on the inside kept flowing. The result is a unique cave system that visitors can explore today.
The Luamanu Crater was once filled with a dense forest… but that all changed in just one day.
Puhimau Crater is a volcanic feature located in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and if travelers book an experience to visit it, they can witness the unique geological formations created by volcanic activity.
Pauahi Crater is a steep-sided pit crater that was formed by explosive volcanic activity. The crater is approximately 330 feet deep and 1,000 feet in diameter, and it is known for its interesting geological features, such as the lava spatter deposits and the fumaroles, which emit steam and gases.
Pu’u Huluhulu is a cinder cone, just like Pu'upua'i. The name means "hairy hill" because low shrubs have grown across it, giving it a fuzzy appearance from afar.
Kipukas are formed when a lava flow surrounds an area of older vegetation, and over time, this vegetation can continue to thrive, creating a unique island of life in the middle of a barren lava field. These kipukas often have their own microclimate, with different soil types and moisture levels than the surrounding area, allowing for the growth of different plant species.
This raised platform offers panoramic views of the Mauna Ulu lava flow. It’s mostly flat and gray, but look for the toadstool-shaped formations.
Pu‘u Loa Petroglyphs is a historical site located in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii. If travelers book an experience to visit Pu‘u Loa Petroglyphs, they can see over 23,000 ancient petroglyphs etched into the hardened lava rock.
The famous Holei Sea Arch. This picture-perfect sea cliff naturally formed into the shape of an arch!
You might notice a small building separate from the rest of the Visitor Center. That will be the Volcano Art Center Gallery, a lovely place to stop if you’re a fan of the fine arts.

The audio guide was perfect for our trip to Volcano National Park. We were able to see everything we wanted. The guide new exactly where we were and gave us great information.
Once in a lifetime experience viewing the volcano and sulphur vents. The voice guide provided very helpful information and interesting stories
Great information to guide you along the way! I like that it was an app and did not need cell service
This was extremely helpful and on point I would definitely recommend this it is a super inexpensive way to experience the volcanos and other points and detailed step by step directions on where to go and what to do
The audio tour was easy to follow and informative.
The audio was very helpful and informative! We were able to see all the highlights of the volcano and didn’t miss anything.
Excellent narration and knowledge of the area! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience touring the park.
This was way better than spending $280 for a tour, informative, easy to follow, at your own pace etc. only thing that would have been nice is if it would work in reverse.
It was very interesting. We enjoyed hearing the history of area. Try to make it to the arch by the sea, it was worth the drive. The app was able to keep track of where we were on our drive with gps even if we went out of order?
The self tour was informative. It could be a little more user friendly. But if you're heading up the volcano, it's very nice to have and worth the money.
Very easy and informative audio tour if you haven’t planned for your Volcanoes NP visit and activities. NP app also includes a tour option, also self-paced, but not audio(facts must be read on the NP app). NP app is free but this one is fairly low cost. Both have their merits.
Very informative and provided a nice tour. We thought it could have had some stops on the way down and others in the way back.
So worth it. With the government shutdown, we were on our own. This was a lifesaver. We learned so much.
Helpful for navigating the park! Great for first time going. Would recommend for first timers. Remodeling at park, so some info was not correct because visitor center is moved.
The tour was pretty good. It was really nice to be able to do things on our own schedule and time, and choose which items we wanted to see. I wish there were various levels of the tour - a “basic” one for people who may not know much, but for my kid who is studying volcanoes, some g “more advanced” in terms of the knowledge. For example, he doesn’t need to have the narrator tell us about the types of lava. But he might have been more interested to get some more advanced knowledge in the topic.
Excellent. Great stories and history behind them. Good direction and suggestions of which stops to make. The volcano was active while we were there so the itinerary was adjusted
The tour is very well timed and well informed. The only feedback is that you should be able to drive all the way to the end to the Sea Arch (like we did) and be able to do some of the stops in reverse order without having to manually play each one and search for them.
Directions were easy to follow. Lots of great information on the places we stopped. This was so worth the money. Great value.
Great background on the volcanoes. Kilauea starting erupting today! Do amazing. Loved walking through the huge lava tube too and the beautiful drive to the sea arch.
This allows you to drive through and get all the information you need without the hassle of a tour group. I like best you can do your pacing. I recommended going through all the content before you get there so you are not trying to navigate and listen at the same time.
After a last minute cancellation for plans to go the national park. My partner and I downsides the self guided tour and we are glad we did. I felt the freedom to stop the tour and do whatever we wanted was nice . All of the places marked must see did not disappoint. We ended our stay at the park and would recommend to everyone visit.ing
The process to get the self guided tour was difficult. After trying to access the self guided tour in the app and looking in email for 40 minutes I gave up and we did our own tour. I did not call customer service because I had weak cell coverage
We have used self-guided audio tours before and this is the best way to tour our National Parks. This program was great, had no problems with connecting and the information was interesting. I will definitely use audio tours in the future and will recommend you to my friends and family.
It saved us a lot of time over taking a tour! I liked that you could repeat topics because sometimes the audio may not have quite finished before going to the next stop.
Easy easy to use. Teens complain about map talking at the begining , but at the end, everybody got a lot of information from it 😄 Glad we got map instead of 8 hr tour for $$$ per person.
Nice to have the information of the different places as we were driving. Lots cheaper than the excursions. The place was amazing. Wish we could have done the trails but we were with an older couple. We still had lots of fun.
Great way to explore the Volcanos National Park and very inexpensive. The voice was easy to listen to and information was provided in a very timely manner. I’ll be buying more😁
This was a great way to explore the park and very easy once we acclimated to the app. We loved it and saved money too! We made it to all the sites we wanted to see and did some hiking too!
We only had one afternoon to explore the park and found this to be the perfect addition to our tour! Was informative and really well designed, allowing for us to deviate from the guided tour for a short hike and caught right back up when we got back on the road. Loved the flexibility it offered for how much time we had, we got to see the major points of interest in the park in 3-4 hours and loved the stories and history the guide provided! So happy I found this!
Tour was well guided and timed and directions were good. We really enjoyed the interesting background information and historical information in the narration.
The narration was really good and the stories were really interesting! Be sure to drive the speed limit so that the narrator has enough time to finish all of the stories! We really enjoyed walking around the sulfur vents and learning about what causes them. We also really enjoyed driving all the way down to the Sea Arch and hearing tales from Hawaiian mythology.
Really useful audio guide. Fascinating to hear more about the volcanoes as we travelled through the park. Worked on both walking trip near visitor centre and driving down crater rd.
All the attractions were explained properly. It tracks the location with GPS and start guiding. Really good!
We only had time for a short visit so saw sights 1-3 as shown at the visitor center. Very informative story given by the audio tour.
The park is huge and the directions and commentary were interesting and helpful! Very easy to use. Made finding what I wanted to see easy.
