Hanauma Bay Snorkeling From Waikiki

Enjoyed this excursion immensely! Beautiful and well organized. This was in the top 10 of things we were able to do on Oahu.

Terrible customer service, with requests to resolve issues which were not resolved. The water was rough, cloudy and miserable. Would not recommend.

It was just alright. It was SUPER expensive for what it was. Really expected better snorkeling after all the hype. I wouldn’t do it again or recommend it because of the price. We spent over $200 and saw a few fish amongst dead coral.

This is the second year in a row we do this tour and both times it’s been a great experience. Highly recommend to anyone interested in snorkeling and seeing wildlife!

The driver was very friendly and informative. It was disappointing we didn’t get to see the sea turtles but snorkeling was great. So many colorful fish. Price was steep for just transportation. If you want an umbrella and 2 chairs it’s another $45 and a life vest is $10 each person, plus the $25/person entrance fee. Be aware that you have to carry all that to the beach from the van where they dropped you off or wait for the tram that takes you down to the beach but you still have to carry them to where you want to be. They do not set them up for you. It was a little difficult for us to do because we are older folks, 60 and 70 years old. They should have warned us about this. There are chairs and umbrella rental at the beach as well but we didn’t price them to see how much but still you have to set them up yourself. At least you do have to drag all that with you to the tram. If you want to do it yourself make sure you go online to reserve an entrance ticket a few days ahead. We used the tour option because it was the last-minute decision and there were no tickets available for the time we wanted to go. In short we ended up spending over $220 for a 5 hours beach time which went very fast. I would arrange everything myself if we do this excursion again.

Best thing to do early when it first opens in the AM. Small group van, excellent driver Luiz. Snorkeling gear included. Highly recommend. Spent about 4 hours there. Entrance fee is separate (cash $25).

Transportation was friendly and informative. Unfortunately, one of our snorkels was broken! Our driver said he would let the company know. First time snorkeling and the bay is beautiful and SO MANY VARIETIES OF FISH!

Rented equipment, could be paid for with Venmo and others , glad I didn’t need cash for it. Great time at the Bay. Saw a lot of fish. Tour info about the area on the drive.For my first time snorkeling it was great.

Shuttle driver was on time, friendly, fun and informative. The bay was amazing. Lots of spots to snorkel, tons of sea life to watch and overall a wonderful time I recommend it to anyone. I come to Hawaii about four times a year and just never have gotten around to coming out to the bay, I’m glad I did.

This was a rare miss for us on Oahu. It’s a beautiful beach, but the snorkeling was just so-so.

The ride was good, the snorkeling was a disappointment due to the fact that we weren’t able to see many fish. I saw a total of 3 different types of fish and I was expecting to see a lot more.

A great experience with snorkelling at Hanauma Bay. Prompt shuttle service with interesting information about the area and hints for snorkelling. Friendly experienced driver made the trip enjoyable.

Wonderful time. A must see. Second time here and never disappointing. They have everything there you need. Go farther out, better viewing of fish. The people churn the water up and it can get a little murky to see the fish.

The equipment was great and service friendly. That’s the only positive. The visibility was zero. You couldn’t see rocks directly in front of you let alone any fish. Don’t expect the tour operator to cancel due to extreme weather. Pay the extra to cancel for any reason and if it’s rough surf or high winds cancel. You will be left on the beach for hours getting sandblasted with nothing to do but wait for pick up.

Perfect day in a beautiful spot! Soft sand, crystal clear water, active crabs, and gorgeous fish in the shallowest of waters!

The beach is so beautiful, we saw many fish while snorkeling! The whole experience was amazing we would definitely recommend.

What a beautiful place. Everything was perfect (though the wind could've been calmer). We'll be back someday . . .

This experience was very relaxing and fun. The only downside is that one pair of our fins broke before we went into the water so we couldn’t use them the whole time we were snorkeling and the umbrella we rented was missing a part to hold it down so it kept flying away. However seeing the fish and swimming amongst the coral is an experience I’ll never forget.

Hanauma Bay is amazing, definitely worth the visit. But see if you can just go on your own. The company that took us was ok, but questionable. The van was late, the driver offered my husband free admission if he could pronounce humuhumunukunukuapua'a - which he did. But we still paid, We didn't mind since we knew the money would go to the park , but still, you shouldn't make a bet and then loose it and not follow through. and our mask broke - the drivers response was - well that happens. We will visit the bay again, but probably on our own. Company didn't seem very concerned with customers having a good experience. Just seemed more concerned with taking your cash.

Our driver was fantastic, and the timing of the tour was just right.

This basically pick up and drop off with anything you need to anorkel which was perfect. We had over 4 hours to snorkel or swim or whatever. Prompt pick up and drop off.

It was an incredibly enjoyable experience! The bay is absolutely stunning! Our driver, Diego, provided us with excellent information and valuable advice.

A great way to snorkel! Transportation and equipment included made it so easy to snorkel. The tour gave us plenty of time to snorkel! It was a relaxed paced and we had so much fun! We even had time to eat at the cafe before coming back.

This is by far one of the best spots for snorkeling and it’s kids friendly while enjoying the beautiful views.

Poor quality of rentals, snorkel gear and umbrella were poor quality. Good thing is you don’t need to make a reservation or worry about parking.

Bring exact cash for payment . They made us combine all our money fir the 10 people on the tour which made it difficult if you didn't have exact change. They just told us 'just fugure it out " They should tell people this before hand

5/5 stars! Driver was super kind and helpful. Snorkeling stuff was good. It was definitely worth it for us to just pay for the experience. Made getting to/in the park much more stress free than figuring it out myself.

Picked up at our hotel and taken to the bay. All gear was loaded into van, no problems. Extra umbrellas, chairs, noodles were available to rent at last moment if needed. Luis was so gracious and helpful as our driver, looking after our every step. Would highly recommend.

Recommend you take a ride share, pay the entry fee, and enjoy your time with the hassle of wasting your money on this company.

The bay was stunning however I was very disappointed the driver had to take us back at 12:30 pm. So we only stayed for 3 hours at the bay. I wanted to enjoy more time at the bay and snorkel more. The bay closes at 6 pm why take us back so early. Snorkeling gears were bad quality. It is better to take an uber and rent snorkeling gear at the bay or bring your own. By the way there is an additional fee of $25 per person to enter the bay and you have your pay it in cash

This is hands down my favorite thing we did on my family’s vacation. There were only 6am time slots available, but waking up early was worth it. Our driver Mark was friendly and informative. The gear was great, better than other snorkels I’ve used and easy to get the hang of. We booked this last minute since we weren’t able to get tickets to the park via the official website, but my experience with this tour was so great, if I were to visit again, I’d just skip the hassle of trying to book via the official website and go with Viator.

This was the highlight of my trip! My son and I had a blast and the people were friendly and good instructors.

Adam - driver picked up us on time and very helpful. Not much fish close to the shore, but there was some further out, including the triggerfish. Fins and snorkeling gear was a bit worn out, one fin and one mask was ripped in our set.

Our driver to the venue was very quiet; difficulty hearing him, otherwise he was friendly, professional, patient and very helpful. One of the masks did not seal, so I had to rent another from the rentals at the bay since our driver was already gone by the time we found out.

Definitely worth the early morning! They handled everything for us. Highly recommend renting chairs. We had a great and relaxing time,

Adam did a great job telling us about the history and the area. The snorkeling was tough because there was high winds stirring up the swells. It was still fun. We would do it again!

Would not recommend. They told us we could not bring our own coolers, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. but allowed another party to do so after we were effectively forced to rent these items from them on top of the cost paid to Viator. When I refused to sign the paper saying I would not request a refund, they told me my family would not be transported back to our pickup spot, essentially abandoning us. If you do book, feel free to bring whatever you want along since they do not enforce this rule & don’t sign anything so you can dispute the charge if needed.

It was an amazing experience! The whole process was easy. The driver Marcio Lira was super nice and went above and beyond. We recommend bringing a tent and plenty of snacks.

Great if you don’t plan to stay at Habauma Bay for the whole day. It’s perfect for us since we have other plans for the day. We were there at the opening and there’s a lot less crowd and clearer water

You are paying for a guaranteed spot in the bay, that’s it. Do not expect anything else. Next time, I would take my chances on getting a ticket cs paying double for the “tour”.

Tickets are limited and very hard to obtain to Hanauma Bay. Using a service makes the entire trip much more relaxing.

We love Haunama bay! We couldn’t get a ticket through the state website so went with a tour company to secure a spot. All snorkeling gear and transport included. Just expect a 20-30 min process once you arrive at park for tickets and orientation. Lots of fish!

Amazing place. Not wanting to risk parking issues we felt this was a better option and I am very satisfied with the bus tour Definitely a must see on Oahu and guaranteed entry with the tour

The shuttle and snorkel equipment were clean and in great condition. The whole journey was amazing. The little ones enjoyed it as well.
