We rented paddle boards for a couple of hours and had a great time. The staff person (Julie I think) was very friendly and helpful. Equipment was in good condition. We saw sever turtles and a manta ray at the mouth of the river. One of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii! Hale’iwa was a great little town to walk around and eat and shop in after as well. Highly recommend!

This was super easy. Rod was really nice and got us set up, and gave us a suggested route. Nice way to spend a couple hours. The river is fairly protected so even though it was a bit windy, it was still really manageable.
Rod was so patient helping our large group get outfitted with the proper paddles and boards. He took lots of group pics for us at the end of our activity and was just overall very friendly and happy to be around!
Such a fu ln relaxing experience! We were able to see a couple turtles and even a manta ray! Would definitely do it again!
This review is for our experience on 8-29-26. My brother and I rented a double kayak, and Cree helped us with the process. Cree is such a lovely, sweet girl who has a lot of patience. After we paid the rental fees, Cree went over the map of where we would be heading to on the Anahulu River and what we should be expecting when approaching the second bridge (rocky bottom) and possibly of seeing turtles (we actually saw one!). The scenery was so beautiful on Anahulu River. When I asked Cree if she could take photos of my brother and me on the kayak, she was glad to take them for us and took so many too! :) We paddled on the river for about 1.5 hrs even though the max number of hrs you need to pay is for 2 hrs. Parking was a bit of an issue bc the small lot across from Blue Planet was already full by the time I got there 9:15 am. Ended up parking on the unpaved strip on the right side of Surf N Sea. Overall, I had a great experience kayaking. Thank you, Cree!
Friendly staff. Great experience . Not crowded. Rental is 2 hrs but we traveled and came back in 1 hr.
Super fun and chill. Saw sea turtles and took some good pics along the river. Fun activity for couples and even families.
We loved this! Our family (ages 3-72) all enjoyed the paddle down the river. It was beautiful and we saw so many turtles! It was relaxing and fun. The staff was helpful getting on and off the river and everyone had a great experience. Highly recommend.
First time on a SUP. Jason made the experience better by his instructions, and his questionable dad jokes. The river was calm and active with turtles and birds. I highly recommend this shop and location for SUP!
Fun paddle board experience. If the river we were on was longer, I’d give it 5 stars, but we were able to make it to the end and back in less than an hour.
I doubted that we would see turtles but we saw a bunch.
Cree provided absolutely amazing 5-star service. She was so welcoming and helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We went paddle boarding and she also shared her local tips on the best beaches and the best times to visit them. It made such a difference to our experience. Highly recommend!
Had a fantastic time paddling up and down the Anahulu River on some great paddle boards! We saw a bunch of sea turtles along the way and got a great workout! Kudos to Elena for providing thorough instructions and getting us setup. She was super friendly and excellent to work with with!
This was my first time paddle boarding and our Blue Planet Adventure host (Elena) did a very commendable and effective introduction and tutorial of the craft. She was super courteous and exudes the good island vibes to my entire group. I would definitely recommend and refer friends, family and strangers to partake in this experience. PS.... very affordable activity for 2-3 hours on the North Shore of Oahu.
We saw so many turtles! Great activity for families and those looking for a relaxing way to spend a few hours off the beach. Elena was super helpful with the launching and collecting of the equipment at the end.
The family had a very pleasant and fun morning paddling along the river. When we went at 10am the river was not too crowded. We saw lots of turtles and took in the landscape. Elaine helped us and was great. She gave us helpful tips for paddle boarding and where to find wildlife.
This is now our third time with this company! Amazing every time! Turtles swimming around us. Turtles basking in the sun! Even with flood water - it’s so fun! Easy to navigate as you have two ways to go. Up the river or to the ocean! My 8 year old rocked it and good for everyone young and old! Highly Recommended
Oahu had terrible winds and rain but not here at the river. We were lucky to have the river to ourselves. The paddle boards were stable and the river is calm with much flow. Turtles are near the bridge. Although the weather caused the river to be brown, it was super enjoyable.
What a great family fun activity water was smooth tracking cruiser-style we loved it. Elena was an awesome host we also saw sea turtles ♥️ thnx so much Haleiwa Paddle Boarding so much fun!!
What a great find this was! We love eating and shopping our way through the North Shore but have never paddleboarded there. Found this while looking for a fun new adventure and so glad we did it! Our teens went out for a little less than 2 hours, paddled upstream and down to the mouth of the stream near Haleiwa harbor and they saw a ton of turtles! They wished they brought snacks but we had big Acai bowls after at Banzai Bowls. Love that you don’t have to haul the boards anywhere. You rent right on the dock and it’s a beautiful covered dock too! Cree was great at explaining everything to us and suggested coming in the morning next time to see more like manta rays too, plus less busy than the afternoon when we went. There were a few outriggers practicing out there so had to stay out of their way when they were racing. Fun to see though! Kids paddled for a little under 2 hours and that was plenty of time. Wished we had sent them with their phones in a waterproof case so we could just come back when they were done. We had drinks at Teddy’s, just a few minutes walk from there, while they paddleboarded, and checked from the bridge halfway through to make sure they hadn’t left yet. Thanks Cree! See you next time!
So much fun! We were beginners and were given excellent instructions from Julie our guide. She made sure we felt comfortable and secure before launching. The river is beautiful and perfect for paddle boarding. Turtles swam all around us and it was fun watching the fish jumping. There is a rope swing that people swung and jumped into the river from. People watched and cheered as kids and adults showed off! Such a great way to enjoy the quaint little town on the North Shore of Oahu.
Wonderful experience renting paddle boards from Blue Planet! Super friendly staff, very stable boards and a very calm river to paddle up/down! Saw a few turtles as well!
Amazing stand up paddle boarding experience! We came in with little to no experience with SUP but the boards were very stable and my wife and I had a blast! Highly recommend checking blue planet out!
Check-in was easy, and owners were courteous and experienced. It was a beautiful paddle of both the river and the bay.
I reserved this experience because it was advertised as a GROUP EVENT. My nephew was alone and wanted to SUP with others. When we arrived he was given a Board and pushed into the river (which is horribly smelly and dirty) by himself. When I stated that I paid for a GROUP EXPERIENCE the young man said NOPE. I could have saved the $35 and sent him to POKAI’I BAY with my SUP Board for free. I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with this experience.
Beautiful place to paddleboard and hang out. There is a bridge to jump off. They were very friendly and nice.
The location was excellent and very convenient for parking. Everything was clean. Cree helped us with our rentals and was very nice, happy and made us feel welcomed.
I had a tour with Cree and she did and we saw so many turtles! She was a great tour guide and I would definitely recommend to a friend
Great paddle boarding and kayaking experience with family. Personalized service by Mel was great. Saw turtles and beautiful foliage. Look forward to going agin in the future.
Julie was extremely friendly and welcoming! She was efficient and made sure everyone got started on time without a long wait. We came last year and had to do it again. To be paddlebaording behind the iconic bridge....fabulous.
Tylor is really kind and made our trip iconic. He helped really nice and kind and we really enjoyed trip
Fantastic service and a really beautiful ride down the River. Saw multiple turtles with one even coming up between our boards! Great experience and awesome for kids.
Jonathan and his crew are the best. I have been paddle boarding here multiple times and they take care of me every time. Location is fantastic. Parking isn’t the best. But that’s the Northshore. They have the aloha spirit that makes this place so special. Cant recommend highly enough.
Easy to find and smooth transaction. The guy at the desk was helpful. Everything we needed was provided including a changing area. So much fun!
The staff and river were Aloha. Loved the vibe and the town. We saw turtles and many birds. I was so relaxed and would go again.
Amazing!! Affordable and nice staff. The area was super pretty and the route was great! Superrrrrrrrrrrrr great time!
I run tours on Oahu for Hi5hawaii Tours, and Blue Planet is one of our guests favorite spots for calm stand up paddleboarding and kayaking. 99% of the time we see turtles on the river and the staffing is always helpful. Max, Devin, and Luke are always giving advice for first timers, Jon and Tyler also make sure our company has parking and enough boards for our guests. Perfect location underneath Anahulu (rainbow) bridge, no strong currents and a bit sheltered from wind and waves, great spot to learn
This is the only spot I bring family and friends to paddle! Max and Devin are always extremely courteous and helpful. The river is peaceful and you can always see at least one honu. Looking forward to being back out on the water soon!
This is such a beautiful river to paddle on, I saw one or two turtles! Max and Devin are the bomb.com! Them two need raises! Excellent service.
Efficiently run business run by fun, passionate people! We had a peaceful paddle board outing on the river and saw at least 10 turtles!
Fun and convenient to drop right in the river from the shop. The whole family enjoyed seeing the turtles and swinging off the rope swing.
Friendly and helpful team, really enjoying their work! We saw tutorials and it was wonderful! Liked the nature. Highly recommend
The Blue Planet team are all so nice! We paddle boarded down the river. It was a great experience and a great day! If you are looking to do stand-up paddleboarding, I'd highly recommend Blue Planet!
Small place off the main road. Parking across the street but fills up before noon (after that good luck!) They have lockers to put valuables, and crates to keep your bags in. Equipment is in good shape. We saw 6 or so turtles. Had time to burn at the end.
Always a great spot to do paddle board rental. Polite, helpful employees. Smooth water up the river and under the bridge.
Stopped by as the paddle boarding was highly recommended. Got to see a few sea turtles and fish swimming around. Staff was very nice and helpful. Luke was extremely personable.
Luke Hambright was fun, funny, and he made the experience enjoyable. We got to see some sea turtles!
Our kayak trip down the river was amazing! Thanks to Luke’s advice on the river we were able to see a ton of turtles. A must do day adventure if you’re visiting north shore.
We had a great time. One person in the group was a beginner and didn’t have any problems. We saw lots of turtles. Luke was a great teacher.
Beautiful place for paddle boarding. We saw lots of turtles and crabs. We had one person who had never paddled before, and Luke was very helpful in giving us a quick lesson.
