I had an amazing experience with Jake from Manifesting Aloha Surf School. He was awesome — incredibly experienced, friendly, and patient throughout the entire lesson. You can tell he really knows his stuff, but what stood out most was how comfortable and confident he made me feel in the water. Jake is originally from Minnesota, which made him easy to connect with, and he brought such a relaxed, positive vibe to the lesson. He took the time to explain everything clearly and encouraged me the whole way. I would absolutely recommend Jake to anyone who’s trying to learn how to surf — whether you’re a total beginner or just looking to improve. Truly a great experience! 🌊🏄‍♂️

Jake was absolutely awesome — he picked the perfect spot away from the crowds you usually get at Waikiki, and my husband and I had so much fun. We had never surfed before and were nervous but Jake was an awesome and kind instructor. Surfing with Jake was the highlight of our trip to Honolulu! We were traveling with our dog and wanted to find something fun we could all do together — and his “surf with dog” lesson was the best choice. Even though we reached out last minute, Jake was super responsive and easy to book with. The Waikiki location was convenient and beautiful. He’s an awesome coach — calm, capable, and really knows how to make the whole experience smooth and fun. We had two people and one dog, and Jake handled everything — from setting us up, pulling us into waves, to making sure everyone (including our dog!) was having a great time. I was a bit afraid of the water at first, but Jake made me feel completely relaxed and confident. He also recorded all the videos for us — and they came out awesome. We love watching them back! It’s truly one of the best outdoor activities we’ve done with our dog. Even if you’re not bringing a pup, Jake is amazing for regular surf lessons too. Highly recommend! 🌊🐾💙

Jake did it again! The Ryswim Girls came back for another group lesson and their smiles upon returning to shore left no doubt on their experience! The first thing the did say was, "When are we going out again!" After receiving the video footage taken by Jake, the joyful screams and laughter from the girls put an exclamation on the lesson!

I have ALWAYS wanted to surf. I've gone boogie boarding and body surfing but never had the nerve. We learned on land how to handle the board and helped get us out to wave break and gave that extra push when it was needed. The location was perfect, including an amazing sunrise. Highly recommend, but be ready to paddle!

It was my first time surfing so I honestly didn’t expect to do more than just lie on the board, but it was awesome. Jake is a great instructor and thanks to him I was able to stand up and surf almost right away. The spot itself is also perfect, not crowded and with great waves that are ideal for beginners. Great location he is super chill and focuses on those that needed help. We all got waves and it was a blast! We had the afternoon class and it was hot, but I think we got lucky with some waves, after an hour the waves just stopped so it worked out well.

Jake is the BEST coach weve ever had! Were beginners and have had 6 sessions since we started with different coaches. Jake is the best one as he gave a lot of beginner techniques that not only helped us ride a wave but CATCH it as well! He also gave board moving techiques and also lineup etiquette, wave selection and safety tips!!! You can also tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. He’s not just teaching because it’s his profession but because he truly wants to teach and loves it. Those are the best kinds of coaches! And the photos and videos were amazing!! We got tons of footage to capture this incredible experience and keep the memories forever. He also edited and gave us a video reel!! Hope to see Jake again in the future for sure!

This was my first trip to Hawaii and my first experience surfing. Jake was attentive, friendly and positive right from booking. In the water, Jake gave great instruction and never wavered from keeping close eye on me and my daughter. Both of us got up and had so much fun. Highly recommend!

This was my first time surfing and it was a blast! The surf instructor Jake was a great teacher and talks you through the whole process. I'm not coordinated but he helped me be able to ride a lot of waves. We went at 7am and it was perfect timing. The spot that we went to was great and not crowded. There were not hundreds of people watching me learn like on other beaches in Honolulu. We even got to see some turtle friends! You also feel like you are out there on the water for a very long time which is nice. I would definitely recommend to a friend or someone visiting!

We had an amazing time and learned so much in just one hour! With the instructions from our very talenter teacher, we were able to ride multiple waves standing up. This was the first time we surfed and now feel ready to give it a go on our own and perhaps come back another time to learn even more!

My three kids learned to surf today and now they want to surf tomorrow! Jake and Sarah were awesome. Both super friendly. Jake is a great instructor got who each kid up on several waves and made it super fun. Sarah worked the drone and took some incredible shots and video. Definitely a trip highlight.

We had an amazing surf lesson experience. We were a large group of 4 adults and 4 kids. Jake broke us up into 2 group lesson times and brought chairs and a canopy for the group that was waiting. He was patient with adults and kids...so personable. We would definitely book with him again!! The bonus of photos and videos was awesome!!

Jake provided a safe & amazing surfing experience for our 3 teenagers. His knowledge of the ocean & surfing combined with his intentional understanding of each of our kids abilities gave them the experience of a lifetime. Their first surfing lesson with Jake was so successful they decided to forgo parasailing and take yet a second surfing session with Jake two days later. They truly fell in love with surfing & can’t wait to build upon their newly learned skills. We had never tried to surf before, but Jake was patient and made it fun to learn. We had a great time with the lesson and will be able to practice on our own!

Surfing is a must on Oahu, and Jake made the experience incredible! I had little expectations for myself because I'm not the most coordinated person. With Jake's easy instructions and perfect guidance my wife was able to catch a wave and stand on her first try, I was able to on my second try. Jake will have anyone surfing in no time! Jake had all of the proper gear for us, and made us feel super comfortable. The picture and video package was awesome to capture the memories. Mahalo Jake!

We had the best experience doing surfing lessons with Jake. It was the first time surfing for both my teens and they were up riding on their first waves immediately with Jake’s laid back, confident style of instruction. The video and photos we got were amazing. I would 100% recommend booking a lesson with Manifesting Aloha Surf School and if we’re ever back in Oahu we will be back for another lesson!

Our kiddos got the blessing to learn to surf with Jake and they loved it. He helped them learn the basics, but the best part is that they got ample time to catch waves and feel the freedom of surfing on their own, while having the safety net of Jake nearby taking care of them. From a mom point of view, I was reassured immediately when I saw how good Jake was with them.
