If you are a non-swimmer with a legitimate fear of the water regardless of age you can snorkel with Joe and be confident he will support and reassure you every step of the way. My daughter who is a very strong swimmer wanted to go and I was reluctant and refused until we found the non-swimmer option, she convinced me to try it. I was ready to back out when the water was only waist high but I’m so glad Joe encouraged me, he’s very patient so if you’re considering this excursion but have fear like I did I’m confident Joe will be there with and for you as much or little as you need. If anyone is wondering if this activity is for those who dont swim...Dont Overworry!!... for me personally as a person who suffered a stroke who's whole left side was paralyzed after much therapies & determination & after my therapists didnt have much hope for me to ever walk again...today I'm able to walk (maybe not as before but I'm up & able to get around)...dont let yourself feel you cant snorkel, stroke or no stroke...Robbie our group guide is very intuitive as to how everyone in the group is doing the whole snorkel session (FORTUNATELY our group was not a big group)...Before we headed out into the warm waters he instructed us very clearly on how to use the good, clean equipment provided by Zephyr... For those of you who have never known how to swim or gone snorkeling Robbie is the perfect guide to go with...pay attention to his instructions & you will be just fine...most important is for you to breathe properly as he instructs you. He went out of his way to go down to the bottom to find creatures for us to meet & hold & touch...sucha cool experience!! not to mention how fun it was to see all the turtles & schools of different fish we got see to see underwater! I feel very fortunate to have had Robbie for my guide...he was super kind & helpful...I felt safe & supported. Great experience for new comers to snorkeling, our guide Robbie was fantastic provided a good experience for the newcomers with freedom for the more experienced. Got to various species of fish and urchins, turtles, held an octopus. Robbie provided many purchased photos for a lasting memory. recommend renting the sea scooters he provided allows you to really scoot around.

Definitely a great experience - not sure why I waited to be a senior citizen before trying snorkeling. I do swim but wasn’t sure about my strength to climb up into a boat so the walk in from the shore boosted my confidence that I could do this. The instructor,Robbie, was so kind, patient and reassuring through the event. He was highly skilled and made sure everyone in the group was safe at all times. Definitely recommend for a memorable experience.

This was an amazing experience from start to finish! My husband can NOT swim at all and has not really ever been in water over his chest and never in the ocean. Joe was absolutely awesome at reassuring him and keeping him safe and allowing us both to enjoy this experience together! My husband almost bailed and went back to shore in the first 5 minutes because he was in his head and started to panic a bit but Joe was so calm and reassuring and put him at ease that he hung with it and so happy he did! We got to see 3 turtles, the big one swam under my husband and bumped his shell on his belly it was the coolest thing ever! We also got to hold an octopus a starfish and a sea urchin! We highly recommend Joe and would book again with him in a minute he is funny knowledgeable and has a true love for his job and a passion for the ocean and Sealife and it shows. When we made it back to shore my husband was so happy that he did it and was ready to go again. Thank you for making this an amazing memory and our favorite experience on this vacation.

My wife and I booked the non-swimmer snorkeling experience, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our Maui trip. My wife got comfortable within about 5 minutes in the shallow water, but I completely panicked at first 😅. Joe was incredibly patient and reassuring. He used a paddleboard float that I could hold onto and actually swam alongside me until I felt comfortable on my own. Eventually, I got the hang of it and had an absolute blast! We got to see a shark (mini one), an octopus , starfish , and sea turtles , which made the experience even more memorable. If you're a non-swimmer or nervous about snorkeling, definitely book this experience. Joe’s guidance and patience made all the difference. It was 100% worth adding to our Maui trip, and I would absolutely recommend it!

Excellent experience for my family. First time taking my kids (9 and 7 years) for some real snorkeling in Maui. We had an absolute blast... while it may say it's for beginners... we still got to see an abundance of ocean life including a friendly octopus, turtle and a ray. Robbie did a great job leading us, taking numerous photos/videos for us so we could focus on taking in everything. Great location as well... a lot to see!

We had a great time Robert was our guide and took the time with our non swimmers to get them comfortable. He would grab a few photos then interacted with our entire group when a turtle or another animal was around. Had a great time would definitely go again. He gave the confidence to our non swimmers and took extra time while still including everyone. I definitely recommend using the jet helped me tremendously.

A wonderful experience to say the least! Our guide Joe, was simply fantastic and incredibly supportive to my wife (Lisa) who had little swimming experience and was very nervous to move off the beach and move forward with the event. Joe took the time to help her feel more comfortable all while helping all those that were in attendance as well. Joe was a solid professional and we've been singing his praises to all who will listen. During our time, we saw several fish, turtles, and even a reef shark! I would not recommend this for first timers or small children. While there were floatation devices available, we were discouraged to use them by our guide. Thank god we did use them because we are not strong swimmers and our guide gave no assistance whatsoever. We also got left in the dust at the end when he realized he needed to get to shore quickly for his next group. We were left on our own to make it shore by ourselves, all novice swimmers. He had mentioned a floating board we could use if we got tired, except it wasn’t available when we were actually tired. Again, thanking god for those flotation devices that saved us in the end. There were additional devices available for a novice swimmers at an extra charge that was not noted beforehand. The pictures taken during our tour were also only available for an extra charge, which was not noted beforehand either. We were told we would get pictures and then informed at the end this was only available with an extra charge. We had a great experience with sea life and he did get nice pictures with said sea life which was special. I didn’t appreciate his attitude especially as someone with anxiety regarding water and as someone who has a family with small children. I think this guide and tour is best for couples who are new at snorkeling but who can swim.

So worth it!! We had 9 people in our group of which only two had snorkeled. 3 were non swimmers. We had ages 7 thru 71. Robby was so awesome! Totally recommend him! We would all do it again!

Alex was a terrific guide, made me feel safe and well taken care of. We saw turtles, one was huge, and many other critters. Then a wonderful drive out to the end of the road with great stories. A wonderful adventure!

But Robbie assured us I’d be okay and I rented one/added of those speed machine things and I highly recommend that for anyone nervous about the water. It ran out of batter on our way back but that’s probably bc I was using it the whole time lol 😂 but by that time I felt much more comfortable in the water and just held on to Robbie’s board and kicked my legs back! We saw a schoo of fish and a turtle and octopus! No sharks 🦈 🤣 We were in Lahaina and drove about an hour and it was worth the drive to be led so patiently and confidently by Robbie! Highly recommend and will bring my kids back when they are older! 😊 The beach/spot is really nice too so prepare to stay a little longer!

The day of our snorkeling experience, we had an under the weather kid. Robbie worked with us to get us rescheduled without any issues. When we were hesitant to go in, it being our first time, Robbie encouraged us and made us comfortable. We ended up having a great time!

Robbie was incredible. 5 star all the way. Watching him work inspired me . We had some that were scared and wanted to quit , he was incredibly patient, understanding and calm and walked everyone through . He towed around basically the entire group while still finding time to take photos , go dive for sea life . I can’t say enough how impressed I am . Robbie, the tour guide was clear in his instructions and had provided succinct steps which were helpful for someone without experience of swimming in the ocean. He helped with supportive actions in relaxing the nerves for first time snorkelers and did a wonderful job on navigating to spots which provided the opportunity to experience the vicinity of sea creatures.

We had the best experience snorkeling with Robbie! Both of us know how to swim, but we had never snorkeled, so we opted for this class, and we are so glad we did! Robbie was patient, and it was clear he’s very experienced. We saw a lot of wildlife including sea turtles, octopus, sea urchin and star fish! This was one of the best parts of our entire trip!

It was an amazing experience! I felt safe the whole time. My partner was a little nervous at first, & Robbie did a great job making him feel confident & comfortable by the end of the tour! Robbie also made it easy to purchase the photos, which we did not do until after the tour. He took amazing pictures & we really had a great experience!

Getting into the water for the first time felt a little daunting, but Robbie changed all of that for us. He is a wonderfully supportive instructor who made learning to snorkel an absolute breeze. We thoroughly enjoyed our first underwater adventure and can't thank him enough for making it so easy and fun. Seeing the sea turtles was the highlight of our trip!

Amazing snorkel experience! Perfect for me and my boyfriend who had never been before. We saw three turtles, urchins, starfish, and even an octopus! I think the price was definitely worth the experience. I do wish we had met at 8 when it was supposed to start instead of 8:15, but then we didn’t get back to the meeting point until 10:12 so it still ended up being the two hours. It was so much fun and Robbie was amazing the whole time

This was amazing! It was perfect for me and my boyfriend who have never done this before. Robbie was amazing at going over directions and making us feel comfortable with the equipment. He was great at pointing out turtles, urchins, starfish, and even an octopus. He took some amazing pictures and videos that I’m so glad we had the choice to buy at the end. Trip was totally worth it and amazing.

Joe is an AMAZING instructor and guide. My husband and I are two 60 something retired US Navy vets who are in Maui to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. We wanted to do something Amazing to commemorate our life together and Joe did not disappoint. I'm not a swimmer and my Hubby is not comfortable in the ocean. Joe was very kind and beyond patient. He definitely earned his pay this morning 🤣. For a matter of fact, Im praying he will get a raise.

As a non-swimmer, I was honestly terrified to try snorkeling for the first time, but Joe made the entire experience so comfortable and enjoyable. Joe was awesome!!- incredibly patient, explained everything clearly, and really helped calm my fears from the start! The propulsion device made snorkeling much easier and we felt safe and relaxed the whole time. This experience was absolutely perfect for beginners like me, especially non-swimmers or kids who may be nervous about getting in the water. Very happy that we got Joe as our guide! Ready to do it again! Joe also took amazing photos & videos that turned out great! 10/10 — highly recommend!
