My girlfriend and I recently visited Hawaiian B (her idea) and we BOTH had a wonderful time. The tour feature ls a history of the land, the process of hydroponically growing edible hibiscus through all stages from seed to harvest, and a tasting of the farm’s products that was incredibly delicious. We both highly recommend this unique experience and are thrilled to have found this place!

This farm was not what I expected. I heard hibiscus and just assumed but greenhouse full of large flowy flowers! We got an in-depth tour and experience with edible hibiscus! Completely different type of flowers! Sarah spoke in length about the history of her farm and the broader history about the farming of that area of the big island. Most of the tour was inside the greenhouse in comfortable chairs. Towards the end we got to try her hibiscus products in multiple different ways. They were all unique and delicious.
Love this tour. Everything that you want to know about edible hibiscus. Tasting is at the end, after farm touring; great products. Definitely will use at home.
Our family of 4 had a wonderful day touring the farm. Our guide, Susan, was kind, patient, funny, helpful, warm, and genuinely informative. We have a 10 year old and an 8 year old and they both said this is one of the highlights of our trip. Such a beautiful and peaceful location and the perfect way to learn more about Hawai'i. 8 thumbs up!
Wasn't sure what to expect from this but it was so informational and fun. The owners are great and very knowledgeable. If you have time in your vacation, I would recommend this little gem.
Susan is a great host and farmer ! Educated us on the ‘edible’ aspect of Hibiscus and also history of the surrounding area. She and her husband tend the farm with loving care and are responsibly Eco friendly. 🥰 The ‘hibiscus’ flower is not the one we see along roadsides and in neighborhood gardens. Its unique look can be immediately identified. And the pods left after the flower falls away is the goodie (calyx)! Her husband picks these gems and they make tasty preserves and teas 🥰💚 We highly recommend a tour and a taste from Susan’s farm🎉
Truly enjoyed learning about edible hibiscus along with the history of the farm and area! Enjoyed the tea and product tastings. Beautiful views. Relaxing & laid back.
This was a very unique experience! Susan shared interesting information about Hawaiian agriculture and introduced us to the delicious edible Hibiscus! We ordered Hibiscus preserves and tea which arrived at our house in excellent condition within a week.
Thank you to Susan for an amazing experience. We enjoyed learning about the history of the area and the process of growing the edible hibiscus plant as well as sampling them in its different forms. It was delicious!
This tour was so informative. I love tropical hibiscus and it was fun for me to learn about culinary hibiscus. The tasting was such a great way to wrap up the tour. I just received the things I purchased and had the wonderful jam on my toast this morning. Thank you Susan and Lance!
Loved the tour so informative. Susan was welcoming and very knowledgeable about Hawaii and farming. My family really enjoyed themselves. Of course all the hibiscus samples were yummy.
What a wonderful experience. Susan is an incredible host. Her knowledge and love for her farm is exceptional. The treats alone were worth the price of admission. Definitely a must see!
Went with family ranging in age from 70 down to 9 months. This was a fun, memorable, and educational experience for the whole family. It was so wonderful to enjoy the beautiful ocean views, learn about the history of the local area, see the hibiscus growing process close-up, and also sample some delicious hibiscus tea and treats. Our guide Susan was a wealth of information and so patient in answering my children's questions. The hibiscus iced tea and panna cotta with hibiscus syrup were amazing! This is a unique Hawaiian experience that you will not regret.
Great tour! Susan gave us so much information, not only about her hibiscus farming journey, the product itself but also history of the Big Island and the shipping & trade to neighboring islands. We purchased the tea, preserves and hibiscus flowers in syrup.. can't wait to share with friends and family. Spectacular views from the farm!
It was beautiful informative and tasty. Susan and her husband have done an amazing job with this tour and their farm. We had an amazing time and laughed so hard with Susan's quick comebacks!! This is a must do tour when you come to the Big Island. Be sure to get those Hibiscus 🌺 preserves!! Thank you Susan for everything we will definitely be back to see you again!!!
What a unique and fun experience! Suzanne was a great hostess who shared a lot of information with us and some very yummy samples. I’d highly recommend her products too!
Awesome farm tour with Susan who was knowledgeable, personable, pleasant and friendly! Who knew that a calyx was not only edible but delicious! I have edible hibiscus jam, the calyxes in syrup, the tea mix and spice rub all made by Susan that I can share with my family and Food Group at home. We thoroughly enjoyed our farm tour!
Waikoloa Senior Center really enjoyed the tour and samples. We highly recommend. They were able to accommodate 27 Seniors and location was easy to find with plenty of parking.
It was so fun to learn about hibiscus and to taste it in several different forms, all prepared by the owner. She also sells several hibiscus products, most of which she prepares.
Susan was a wonderful tour guide! The farm was beautiful and the food/drink samples were to die for! Be sure to bring some $ along with you to buy some of her awesome hibiscus products as well. I’d highly recommend the hibiscus tea. 😃
To meet with someone who has passion and ability about her product was a breath of fresh air. Totally enjoyable and all the information was an added benefit. Everyone should visit. You will be glad you did.
As a hibiscus lover. The farm was wonderful to see. It is a true farm, not a hibiscus garden so there aren't many of the pretty ornamental types (though there are some). We were taught history of the island and the farm itself before going over how the hibiscus grows. The tasting at the end was also wonderful with homemade tea, preserves and syrup with hibiscus inside. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone as it's a great way to learn more about other aspects of the island and the wonderful variety of crop it can grow.
As a gardener I loved this tour. The host was informative and overall the presentation was interesting. Our tour was rescheduled twice which wasn’t a problem for us but it might be for future visitors. The hibiscus edibles were delicious and finding the farm was easy. There wasn’t a ton to see by way of edible and non-edible hibiscus flowers and those that we saw were noticeably eaten by bugs. I do understand that bugs are a common plight for gardeners . This was an all star experience for us, but if you’re not a plant enthusiast, you may not be interested in the hydroponic process. But you will love the hibiscus ice tea, panacotta, and the shortbread with jam.
It was so yummy 😋 from all different edible 🌺 treats to the all the new knowledge obtained it was definitely a must do on the Big Island 🏝 😋 🤙🏼
We have done many farm tours on several different islands over the years and this one was simply delightful! Susan, the host/owner was welcoming, knowledgeable, and a great communicator who shared not just about her farm and product, but also about the area’s history. We were able to see the plants at all stages of growth with minimal walking and comfortably sat for the presentation and tastings. The tastings were amazing and plentiful. We purchased products to create the recipes at home. Definitely worth the drive and time for this unique farm tour!
Susan gave us an amazing experience on this tour! We learned so much about the history of the area, the process of raising the hibiscus in the hydropnics, and some delicious recipes we could try for ourselves. Every one of us became fans of the hibiscus products. 13/10, will visit again the next time we visit Hawaii! Thank you, Susan!
Very informative, interesting, fun, and the tasting samples were delicious. Highly recommend this tour.
Wonderful tour to learn about edible hibiscus. Then got to have hibiscus tea, shortbread cookies with hibiscus jam, and a fabulous hibiscus dessert. Very tasty and what a great idea
What a wonderful tour that was both entertaining and informative. Who would have thought that the edible hibiscus is medicinal and delicious. The samples were top notch as was the host.
This was a wonderful experience! Who knew hibiscus were edible! Looking for something different to do on the Big Island with family. We were educated, enchanted, and nourished! We came on a beautiful day on the Hilo side of the Island receiving a private tour and tasting. Owner Susan was knowledgeable and personable. Will definitely be returning with future visitors! Mahalo!
My friend and I had the pleasure of getting a tour from Susan. It was educational, fun and yummy! The tour concluded with samples of different ways to add hibiscus to recipes. One thing that could be improved is the signage. The signs are small and the arrows were not helpful. We drove past it twice.
Susan, our guide, was a delight. She share her and her husband’s journey on the farm to date. The workings of the hydroponic farm was interesting and inspiring…. If only I was younger. We hope to check in on our next visit.
Amazing experience 🌺 We enjoyed learning about the edible hibiscus, natural farming process and the personal story of how this idea was born! Tasting was absolutely delicious 😋 location and ocean views are stunning! It’s a perfect family tour and I can highly recommend it to anyone!
What an incredible experience. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in something truly unique on the island. I learned so much from the guided tour. We were able to taste samples of amazing delicate creations of the flowers on the tour. My pallet has never tasted anything so different. It truly makes me want to grow my own and harvest them for my dinner table. The host was simply delightful and full of great enthusiasm for her life’s passion. Five stars definitely!
Susan was kind enough to set up a private tour as part of a 70th birthday celebration for my mother. I appreciated her timely response to my inquiry, and flexibility with the itinerary we were setting up. This tour is low on the physical intensity scale, and, at times, it felt more like neighbors getting together and conversing rather than strangers visiting a farm, which was perfect for my group. Susan was welcoming and happy to share the history of the farm and its journey to producing edible hibiscus. The 90 minutes was pleasant, informative, and over all too quickly. While I’ve been drinking hibiscus tea for years, this was my first time tasting raw hibiscus and the other hibiscus products produced by the farm. Susan and her husband have done a wonderful job of creating tasty items, and developing a selection of recipes using their hibiscus tea, preserve and syrup, for visitors to try at home. These are delightful and delicious foods that I will be sending to friends and family as gifts. I look forward to returning to the farm for additional products, and to see how it grows and changes.
Had a very informative tour of the hibiscus farm. Learned many interesting facts about edible hibiscus and farming on the big island. The tastings were really fun too.
Interesting & unique farm tour about edible hibiscus. Delicious tastings of hibiscus tea, flowers in syrup and preserves. The tour is with the actual farmers/owners. They are knowledgeable and engaging. Products are available to purchase. Our favorite was the hibiscus tea - outstanding in flavor, refreshing and so nutritious. An added bonus were was the ocean views! Well worth a trip !
We were able to attend this tour during their soft opening. A wonderful opportunity to visit a working farm in Hawaii, learn about agriculture on the Hamakua Coast, and enjoy a product I didn’t even know existed! The edible hibiscus products are delicious and can be used in a variety of ways. The iced hibiscus tea is outstanding. Susan and Lance are delightful hosts and enjoy sharing all they have learned farming multiple crops in Hawaii.
What a great experience and farm tour! Susan and Lance are very welcoming and they share an amazing wealth of wisdom about farming in Hawaii. I learned so much and their hibiscus farm is so unique. The tour includes a greenhouse and lovely open outer area with ocean views. Then, we sampled their hibiscus edibles, including preserves and tea and flowers in syrup. I had no idea hibiscus is so versatile..and yummy. Great tour in every way.
My husband and I had a great time on this tour and learned so much! He was very interested in seeing how their hydroponic greenhouse worked, and I really loved learning about and seeing some of the different varieties of hibiscus. At the end we both enjoyed tasting the yummy hibiscus food products that they have to offer. Susan was an awesome guide and made the tour a lot of fun!
