You'll be picked up in your Waikīkī hotel lobby and driven inside Diamond Head State Monument while your driver shares the story of Lēʻahi, its volcanic origins, its history as part of Oʻahu's 1908 coastal defense, and what you'll see on the trail. You have two hours to complete the 0.8-mile summit hike at your own pace, climbing switchbacks, stairs, and a 225-foot tunnel to 360-degree views of the coastline. Return with the shuttle, or take your time and ride the Green Line trolley back.
Go as early or late as possible for cooler temps and beautiful sunrise and sunset views! Not an easy hike, rough rocky uneven trail, and very uphill the whole way up with a ton of stairs, but worth it for the view at the top if you are able!
Everything was awesome and great
The hike was great. The ticket said 6am to 9am but when we arrived the bus driver said that he wouldn’t be leaving until 10am. He was a nice guy but we didn’t want to wait 2 hours after our hike to start returning back to our hotel. So we paid for an Uber.
We did the blue line with SAM Our tour was absolutely wonderful, and a huge part of that was because of our amazing guide! He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely made sure everyone was having a great time. His positive energy and attention to detail made the whole experience so enjoyable and memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Highly recommend him and this tour!

Our driver, Tinder, operated the “Green Line” Waikiki Trolley during our trip in August. The route included Diamond Head Crater (Le’Ahi) and many other historical, landmark, locations. Tinder provided a very interactive experience and was thoughtful of passenger’s questions/inquiries. Tinder was timely and consistent. Tinder’s story telling and topics provided a fuller experience, creating a positive environment to learn A LOT about history.
Our bus driver called Tinder was so friendly!🌟 He gave us interesting information during the ride! Thank you for that experience! 🤩

Demo was amazing. We weren’t planning on taking a trolley but jumped on board and it was a great experience. Debo was funny, informative and super sweet (Stan Lee look alike) . Loved it
Deno on the green line awesome guide and driver. Totally worth the $19 for an hour drive for great views. Demo will also recommend restaurants and answer any questions.
We were running late for our shuttle to Diamond Head but our amazing bus driver Koa waited for us and the proceeded to give us all the information and help we needed to have a successful Diamond Head Trip! Even complimented us on making it pretty quick when he picked us up again. Definitely would recommend!!
