Matthew our driver was knowledgeable and amazing.
I felt like Rocky Balboa when I got to the top of the mountain. I’m a senior so I’m not in the greatest shape lol. But the view is gorgeous. It was worth the climb.
They cancelled our original booking time but we were in immediate contact for alternative options. Guide/driver was comical and tried his best to liven our group. Props to Matthew. Kudos to Matt.
This was a 10/10 experience. Mark was our shuttle driver, very kind and knowledgeable of the island. When you get there they provided us with waters and a map and told us to be back my 945! The hike isn’t too hard, there’s many points you can stop and take a break. I would recommend this experience!!
It is worth taking the hike because of the views which are breathtaking and the support you get from other people telling you to keep going. My husband and I are in the 60 age group and never hiked before but we did it!! You have to be mentally prepared and have plenty of water and the correct shoes and clothing to complete this hike. Matthew our bus driver was great he gave us all a pep talk before we got off the bus and water at the end for a reward!!
Awesome views and Kaimana made it so easy.
Our tour guide Thomas Kim was excellent as he is not only informative but humorous. On time for pick up and drop off was great.
Tommy was our driver he was very knowledgeable and courteous. Gave us a great details of the area and the Diamond Head and Waikiki area.
Fun trip-Mathew is a very experienced and knowledgeable driver The hike was great, even on a cloudy day
The hike up the mountain was beautiful but much more strenuous than the tour states. It indicated a moderate difficulty level but for the average person this was very difficult. It was worth it though to see the beautiful views and lovely nature walk you get to take.
Great to experience from the pick up from Tommy to the actual hike. Beautiful view from the top. Worth climbing all the stairs and heading into the bunker. Tommy was our guide very knowledgeable about eh experience. Great time.
Don’t be afraid of the staircase. Since Covid, they have added a secondary route that takes you around volcano instead of having to go all the way up the stairs. Although you still have some stairs, it’s not nearly as grueling for those of us with older legs and older knees. On top of that, it gives you a lot more opportunities of a beautiful view on your way up! Any money you now have to spend to claim Diamondhead is still a positive because the money is used to continue the beautification.
Our guide Matthew picked us up at a nearby hotel on time and gave us an informative narrative as we drove to Diamond head crater. He also picked us up promptly with ice cold water and told us more fun stories. Highly recommend this tour if you did not book your Diamond head tour on your own online, which has to be done far in advance to drive in yourself. Steep hike in some spots, but breathtaking views! Probably not fun for children under eight years old.
The views were spectacular once I made it to the top !!! Hard slog but just take your time and stop along the way for a breather.
Pick up on time and no issues with getting into the park. Driver Matthew was communicative and helpful. Diamond Head itself is interesting but really busy - you don't get much time to soak up the view as everyone is queuing for selfies... The walk is quite easy but would be hot in the middle of the day. Even though our tour went ahead as planned, I was disappointed to see on our confirmation email that if tour numbers were too low, it would be rescheduled for another day - no refunds! Not acceptable as we had other activists booked every day.
Great hike going at the top to see the breathtaking view of Waikiki Honolulu Hawaii! Highly recommended 👌👍
Beautiful scenery need to be in pretty good shape. If you have knee issues would not recommend. Starts off on a path then uneven rocks then stairs then a dark tunnel then a lot of stairs. No water or bathrooms on trail. Highly recommend if dont have health issues.
Diamond Head and the views from the top are beautiful. However, we are given only 1.5 hours to complete the hike and to meet at meeting point after the hike. I took 45 min to reach the top without stopping, spent 15-20 mins on the peak, and quickly walked down which took 25min. I was afraid I couldn’t make it on time to catch the shuttle. I missed a few look out points. And i didn’t have enough time to read all the sign boards descriptions. It wasn’t a relax hike. I think we should be given 2 hours to enjoy the hike. Especially the elders and slower walkers who probably would need more time (I am pretty much a fast walker). The driver kept saying he needed to pick up and drop off people from 8 hotels. But that is not our problem. Our hiking time shouldn’t be cut short because of that.
Matthew was extremely knowledgeable about our hike. He also had quite the stories about the island and offered suggestions for dining and shopping. We wish we had more time as we would have liked to do the waterfall hike.
Clear communication before and during the excursion. Pickup was easy, activity as described. Driver (Diogo) was very informative.
Tommy was out pickup and he was amazing. The hike itself was beautiful and worth every bit of exertion to get to the top. The views were breathtaking and we even got to experience a rainbow, a little rain and sunshine, all at the same time. Highly recommend this excursion.
Awsome driver, shuttle was on time as promised. Driver was funny and seamed to really enjoy his job. He pointed out several interesting facts on the route. He returned at the exact time to pick us up. Keep up the great job
Hike was well worth the struggle to get to the top! Not very active person so it was tough but the views were worth it! Tommy the tour guide was the best, very knowledgeable and fun bus driver
This was a great trip to do. Beautiful views along the trail..
An easy-moderate sub two hour trail with beautiful 360 views at the top.
Tommy was great knowledgeable-gave a couple restaurant recommendations and the water choice was ice cold or air temp
Driver was super friendly. He gave us some history of the island on the way. Parking was sold out in the morning so this worked out well.
This is a convenient way to get to Diamond Head and back if you don’t have a rental car. Includes entry and plenty of time to hike without rushing.
Very little of the path is paved. Most of it is rocky and uneven and many stairs. The path gets crowded, be patient. Views are beautiful.
Great hike! Bring lots of water and pace yourself. Our driver, Matthew, was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. Local pickup and transport to Diamond Head and he even provided water when he picked us up after the hike. Great experience!
Tommy was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, made a tough hike sound fun
Pickup, was easy and nice. The hike war very good.
We loved the crater and the views. Go early though. If you forget reservations, you can scan a QR code at the bus stop inside the crater. The people attending the bus stop were very friendly and helpful.
The tour guide Matthew was great! He really enhanced the experience which was already amazing! Highly recommend this hike!
We booked this experience because they picked us up near our Waikiki hotel. The driver/guide was very friendly and gave us some tips on what to do during the hike. Admission to the park was also covered by the tour. The hike itself was nice, although may have worn a moisture wicking shirt because you will sweat getting up to the top. There are a lot of unpaved, uneven surfaces, but proper footwear helps. The view from the top was amazing! The morning was a bit foggy over the water, so we couldn't see some of the views mentioned on the signs. Either way, it's worth the hike up. Once the hike was over, the return pick-up was in the same spot that the drop off was and they took us back to where we got on the bus to begin with. Great deal for a fun and beautiful morning hike to start the day.
Matthew was our driver and he was great! He was friendly, funny and gave interesting facts on the drive to and from Diamond Head - thank you!!
Great tour that you don’t need to make reservation on your own. Good Shuttle rid and great hike with great reviews. Recommended!!
Great experience with the ride to and from the hotel in Waikiki & ticket to hike Diamond Head. Our driver Matthew was very kind, knowledgable & friendly. Would recommend this option to anyone looking to hike Diamond Head. Thanks again
Great tour guide, very friendly and informative. Guide for snorkeling was very patient, gave detailed instructions and helped in the water. Swam with lots of turtles and plenty of time to experience each stop.
This is as beautiful as it looks on the posters and of course very accomplishing but what it doesn’t show you is the rough bumpy terrain, the tiny stair cases and the tunnel you have to crawl through near the top. If you’re claustrophobic, be aware. There are no elevators, cable cars or aids to get you up or down, it’s your legs and feet only. We loved it and had a great time getting to the top and back down but a lot of people were struggling. It’s a hike! Be ready to hike! Kudos to the company Kaimana for ringing the day before and confirming details for pick up location and booking times.
So great, rewarding climb, beautiful views. Shuttle drive was easy and cost effective for a solo hike, and the timing was perfect.
It was a bit strenuous getting there, but even though we are no longer young we made it. The views were amazing and we'll worth the climb. The tunnel can be a little claustrophobic, and there was a wait getting to the very top because of people taking pictures, but overall was a great activity. The tour bus operator was great!
We did a self tour which is all you need. Parking was $7 and I went straight to the park website and bought the entry tickets for a 2hr time frame. There are lookouts along the way to see beautiful views. The trail is paved for the beginning, then changing to a medium level railed path that was not slippery. To get up to the final peak there was 2 ways to go, one was straight up 99 stairs to begin and a longer path. But well worth the hike, especially if you had never been.
It is challenging...take water. But I'm an almost 50 year old who rarely exercises and I was fine by taking a few breaks up.
It’s sooo tiring but it’s worth it. We made it to the top. It’s really an amazing view when you reach the top.
Must try experience to see a good vantage view or HNL. The hike can be done by all ages. Well organized tour.
Very nice tour, long up hill climb but 2 hrs is enough to get up and down, even for a couple of 70+ year old. I would to have water for the hike not after, we ended up buying a bottle. Matthew did a good job driving and explaining about the area and what to expect on the hike
The tour includes pick up, driving, 2 hour free time including entrance ticket and 1 bottle of water. So it is very good to enjoy the diamond head freely
Matthew, our driver, was fantastic! We had a great time & learned a lot about the area! Matthew’s dad jokes were on point!!
