Oahu: Diamond Head Hiking, North Shore & Small-group Island Tour

Long time to be riding in the van. The tour guide was very nice. However, his English was difficult to follow sometimes.

This is our 2nd time on this tour, both times it was great and the guides were amazing.

This was a fantastic way to tour and learn about Oahu. Stephanie was the absolute professional and very passionately knowledgeable. She gave so many important details and made sure we were comfortable with our many stops. We filled up our pictures storage and now have great colorful memories. Starting with the hike to Diamond Head breathtaking summit, to the many beautiful views, beaches and towns from the van, it was the perfect day.

Our tour was the pinnacle of our first trip to Oahu. We hiked to the top of Diamond Head Crater, ate authentic hawaiian food and feel like we saw and experienced more in one day than the whole rest of our trip. The views were spectacular! Our guide, Jonah, was awesome! He shared so much about the island and answered all our questions with ease and knowledge. Definitely take this tour--You won't regret it!

I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Oahu! My husband and I started the day with the Diamond Head hike and then continued on a full island tour. It was an amazing way to see so much of the island in one day and was absolutely worth it. Our driver, Stephanie, was fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more enjoyable from start to finish. To top it all off, by the end of the long day we realized we had accidentally left a few things we had purchased on the bus. We got in touch with Jonah, who went above and beyond by making the trip back to where we were staying to return our belongings. We truly appreciated his kindness and exceptional customer service. It was a long day, but an unforgettable experience. 10/10 we would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone!

There was roaches in the van and didn’t not experience north shore as planned because other people in my group did not want to beach day and there was no parking.

Alan was a great tour guide thru Fun Group Hawaii. Diamond head was unreal. Work out before you take it on. It's pretty steep. Moderate climb if you're somewhat used to working out. Tour of the rest of the island was fantastic. Got the full experience with lots of local tidbits. Great tour overall with a great host.

Stephanie was awesome! She showed us lots of stuff that we otherwise would not have seen on our trip with her. We had a wonderful time with her! Thank you for the memories!

I would rate Diamond Head a moderate hike. Many stairs and the incline starts immediately. It is worth doing! Great views. The Oahu trip around the island was fabulously. Stephanie was our guide. She was knowledgeable and personable. Worth requesting her for a guide.

Stephanie was a fantastic tour guide who provided water bottles, flash lights, ponchos and snacks! many great stops, unfortunately weather didn’t cooperate but was a great day nonetheless

I highly recommend this tour. Stephanie was on time, kept to a schedule, was very professional and full of information. Her kindness is something I will always remember. We had a mixed group of ages so at first, I thought it was going to be tricky, but she managed well and didn’t rush anybody. She made sure everyone got to see everything in a timely manner. She was full of energy and during downtime traveling from one place to another other she had some interesting stories about Hawaii for us. The van was very clean, comfortable and air-conditioned. Overall, I highly recommend this tour because you get to see a lot but if you can get Stephanie, then it’s an added bonus! (my phone died during the tour and she let me borrow her charger, very nice of her! 🙂)

Very knowledgeable tour guide, super friendly, and accommodating to spend a little more time a desired stops.

Be ready for a good hike, the effort is worth it, great scenery. Many, many to climb to get to the very top.

Our driver, Allen, was great! I wouldn’t say the tour is unnecessarily long, and we would I have preferred longer time at sunset beach in order to swim rather than stops to stores (macadamia, Dole, fruit stand etc) for us to spend money.

Our guide Stephanie was great. She made extra stops for photos, gave us a lot of information for things to do but also a lot of local folklore. A great way to get a tour of the island in a day.

A lot to see in this excursion. It was so much fun. Our driver/your guide was super kind and helpful. Totally recommend it. We were exhausted at the end, but so worth it.

Get a good night's sleep! This tour starts early with a hike up Diamond Head. Well worth the effort to get to the top for amazing views of the island. Our tour guide, Stephanie, was very informative during the drive to the various destinations and extra stops were made along the way. The stop at the food truck selling malassadas was particularly accommodating given the need for something sweet and a nice cup of coffee! This day tour was a comfortable way to see the island and get a feel for the various beaches and towns. It gave us a good idea of what areas we wanted to spend more time in during the course of our stay.

So well planned and our driver Stephanie was great! She was so knowledgeable and gave us so many great tips for our stay! It was a great day!

We had limited time on Oahu and Diamondhead was on the list of things to do. With reservations being required to hike Diamondhead, this tour checked a big box and gave us a good look at the rest of the island too. John was awesome! He gave us info about the island, it's people, history, geology, plants, and much more. So glad this was the first activity we did on Oahu.

Stephanie our tour driver and guide was amazing. Great personality and very informative. I would 100% recommend her for anyone that wants a tour of the island!

I booked this tour prior to the reservations for Diamond Head opening on the park website. Two days before the tour was supposed to go ahead, I was emailed to say that the company was unable to reserve tickets for Diamond Head and thus they would need to change the day or cancel the tour for us. We could not change to a later date and so the tour was cancelled. I managed to get to Diamond Head via a different company, so the cancellation of this tour just seemed to be poor organisation on the part of Fun Group Hawaii.

So much fun, the views were amazing! Our tour guide, Stephanie was so knowledgeable, funny and professional and it was a great day :)

Our driver, Stephanie, did a great job showing us many sights and giving us some history. The food truck area was great and delicious. We had the perfect amount of time at each stop.

The hike up wasn't bad. It had a bunch of scenic outlook areas. Hike down was about 15 minutes. The tour was very informative and interesting nice outlook spots got a ton of pictures.

DO IT…., this was an amazing day and a big thank you to Alan. Your friendly, knowledgeable and accomodating approach made our day even better. The scenery and experiences from the Diamond Head walk which was exceptional got better and better. We will remember this day for a very long time and share our experiences and photos.

Stephanie was AMAZING! She took us around the entire island and made several stops for photo ops and to just be able to take it all in! She was patient, very accommodating and was very knowledgeable! I'd absolutely recommend this tour and Stephanie!

My daughter and I did this together. Our guide, Stephanie, was exceptional and so knowledgeable. We learned a ton about not just Diamond Head, but about so many other things on Oahu. The day is long, so get a good nights sleep beforehand and bring plenty of water. Diamond Head was a bit crowded, so bring your patience, too!

Nice way to see the sites and hike up diamond head. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. We made an unscheduled stop to look at sea turtles which was a cool bonus.

Stephanie was a fantastic tour guide. She was kind, knowledgeable and being a local shared some great bonus spots! Would highly recommend this tour for seeing what the island has to offer. My teenagers weren't bored...and that alone speaks volumes about the tour!

Overall, this is a good touristy excursion. However, I will say that this does not fully describe the schedule and day so you can decide accordingly. Yes it is 11 hours. Yes you see a lot of touristy spots. The tour guide is nice and knowledgeable but it is ALOT of time in the car. They basically drive you around to buy things after Diamond Head. That is not tour guided either, they drive you and drop you off. The views are incredible but be aware of the physical requirements for this hike. We had no idea what the schedule was until we asked after the hike then was provided the agenda. Ill post the picture so you can see. Plan ahead if you get car sick and know you will be driving in the car MOST of the day. It’s basically go from spot to spot to buy things after the hike. There are some beach spots for pics which is nice but overall, I’m not sure I would do this again.

It isn't long, but is steep. Nice views. Medium difficulty, but very well maintained. Eroded but little loose rock. Glad we went in the morning as it gets hot quickly. It would be a difficult trail in the rain

Unforgettable experience seeing all the highlights of east and north shores. Several stops to delicious hawaiian foods and treats. Jonah was extremely friendly and gave wonderful tips all throughout the journey.

Great way to start the day-beautiful sunrise views from Diamondhead. There were crowds of people, and being with TripAdvisor made it easy from the drop-off to start, to the pick-up after! We loved all the stops around the island! Our guide was awesome, and allowed the group to choose how long we stayed. We enjoyed the food and stunning views!

Was awesome! Great way to squeeze in diamond head hike without paying for separate transportation. Stephanie our guide was awesome! Was easy going and took us to many stops not on the itinerary. We were never rushed for photos, got lots of good recommendations and just got to see a lot in one day. Would recommend to anyone doing the island tour and wanting a smaller more personal group experience.

It was a totally wonderful experience We only had 1 full day om Oahu and this was the way to spend it!

We had a wonderful overview trip around the island of Oahu with Stephanie. Starting with the hike up Diamond Head and then to the beautiful shoreline and beaches there was so much to take in. The stops at scenic outlooks and places to browse was nice in between the driving. Lots of insight into history of Hawaii and to any of the questions we had.

Tour was good, and Stephanie was great! FYI: The early morning Diamond Head “hike” quickly becomes a slow saunter up the hill as it is full of tourists who want to stop and take pictures in the dark most of the way up. Be prepared to take your time and be patient if you are a regular hiker or want to get up there quickly to see the sunrise. Otherwise it was a great day checking out other beautiful areas of the island!

Started our day at 6am with a less than easy hike to the top of Diamond Head. Almost stopped several times but made it to the top just in time for sunrise. Well worth the amazing view. Our tour guide Stephanie was funny and kept us entertained the entire time. She took us to lots of places that weren’t on the itinerary and all the places that were. Great way to see the entire island and experience many landmark areas. Kind of gave us an idea of what we wanted to go back and try again. It was an amazing first day in Oahu and I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone. Well worth the price paid and the experience.

It wasn’t our first time on Oahu, so I wasn’t super excited to do another ‘circle island’-type tour. But my wife wanted to return to the north shore food trucks and I didn’t want to pay for a rental car AND daily parking in Waikiki which, IMHO, has become prohibitively expensive for just 2 travelers. Our driver/tour guide, Jonah, made the experience worthwhile - his local knowledge, humor, and friendliness came across as more genuine than other tour guides we’ve had when traveling to different countries/places. An older person in our group had mobility issues but Jonah was so patient and kind, not just to her, but with all of us in our group. Jonah is truly a gem of a human being. It was a long day, but Jonah’s personality and the small group size made us feel like we were being driven around by a close friend or relative. Mahalo, Jonah, for driving us around and treating us like family. I can recommend this activity without hesitation.

Awesome experience. It was great to see other parts of the island. John was our guide for the day and he was great. He shared so much information about the culture and heritage of the island.

Stephanie was awesome. Safe driving, on time, super friendly and knowledgeable about the island. The tour was great, we got to hike Diamond head unfortunately the weather was rainy and cloudy so the sunrise was hike did not have the views of the city I wanted. I did enjoy the island tour I would say all the stops were interesting. The macadamia nut farm we were able to try a variety of different flavors. We agreed the onion and garlic ones are the worst. We got lunch at Da Bald Guy food truck. At the Dole plantation I would recommend getting a Dole whip. I would highly recommend this tour.

Definitely loved the loop hole location and the macedamia nut farm where you could drink from the fresh sliced coconuts. Stephanie was phenomenal and awesome as a tour guide. 10/10.
