I loved this experience. It was cold but felt amazing after our 6 hour flight. The people working are so welcoming over all a 5 star experience
Water super cold in a good way! A really good way to start a Hawaii trip after an early morning flight!
Great experience. We did the tour and the foot bath/ soak. The water was 48 degrees with a magnesium add in and was wonderful. The tour guide was incredible and very passionate about conservation and tools the history of the farm beautifully. After seeing several evaporation stages to get to sea salt, we did a tasting with a lot of different flavors. Definitely worth the time and the flavored salt is so so good, we bought several!
It was very cold! I cold feel a decrease in. Inflammation.
A somewhat relaxing and refreshing cold water soak. Most of my party had a good time, but one of the tubs we were supposed to use didn't work and never filled up enough. We were not able to resolve the issue quickly because the atenndant walked away, but we did get a partial refund at the end.
Our visit to Kona Salt Farm and Foot Soak was one of the highlights of our trip! The experience was relaxing, educational, and beautifully unique. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about sharing the history and process of harvesting Hawaiian salt. I purchased several differently flavored salts from our tasting plus some magnesium drops that I can't wait to use!
Great experience; highly recommend as the cold plunge really helped my tired and sore hiking legs. The added magnesium is a big benefit
Very friendly atmosphere, the water is extremely cold but refreshing. Beautiful scenery, exceptional service.
The water is extremely cold, but I found it refreshing and loved the river rocks at the bottom of each soaking pail!
Great tour. Very informative and the hostess is very knowledgeable. The salt tasting was perfect. I bought so much salt! LOL
This was great for neuropathy and inflammation. The water is freezing but as time went on I could keep my feet emerged longer and longer.
After our salt farm tour we had a foot soak booked, and it was such a unique experience! We felt very pampered, and it was great to sit in the cute stand with the water buckets. It was also very cold! After the 20 minute soak, we felt refreshed and ready to start our day. It was definitely worth adding on the experience!
We loved this and it was a ton of fun. The water was definitely cold, it took me a couple tries to get my feet in there to stay for 20 minutes, but it’s mind over matter. I felt so refreshed afterwards.
This was my second time and it was easier this time. The first time we went a year ago, I had a hard time leaving my feet in the water. I felt invigorated afterwards.
The water is extremely cold. I wouldn’t do it again. We did it for a few seconds and we were done. But after we did the free salt tasting and that was fun.
We tried the deep ocean water foot soak in Kailua-Kona and it was a really cool and unique experience. The water is pumped from deep in the ocean and sits around 48 degrees, so yes—it’s definitely cold! But it was fascinating to try something so different. I could genuinely feel a difference in how my feet felt afterward. The soreness and foot pain I had from being on my feet and walking around all week noticeably improved after the soak. Just a heads up for anyone considering it—the water is very cold. My partner actually couldn’t keep his feet in it for very long. I personally didn’t find it too terrible and was able to stick with it, but everyone’s tolerance will be a little different. Overall, it was a really cool experience and something a bit out of the ordinary to try while in Kailua-Kona. Definitely worth checking out if you’re curious about the benefits of deep ocean water.
Fun experience! The water is cold and it takes a little to acclimate, but once you do, it feels great! Makka was a great hostess and it is a very chill experience. Be sure to do a salt tasting afterwards in the farm store!
It was a very unique experience... I was with my daughter and best friend... We absolutely loved it. Michael was so pleasant and fun. The water was cold but once your feet became accustomed, it was fine. We really enjoyed the experience and will do it again!
It was the best of both worlds, by briefing to systems to feet soaking , it was so refreshing, relaxing! Wouldn’t mind do it again !
This was a lot of fun. We’re glad we went. The staff was awesome. 45 deg f water once you got past the shock we laughed at each other’s suffering and had a great time doing it.
My husband and I had no idea what to expect with this tour, and we were beyond impressed with our time at the farm. We started in reverse order I think, with the foot soak and then the tour, with an hour in between. The foot soak in magnesium was quite an accomplishment, and just WOW dos we sleep beautifully. This is a must-do. A challenge but well worth it and we met some fabulous folks from all accross the country. The tasting room was delightful, and a fantastic farm shop! Stocking stuffer ideas for next year! Best of all was our tour guide, one of the original employees of the salt farm, she has been there many years and has incredibly knowledge of the operations, mission and vision of the farm. Her knowledge and kindness truly embody the mahalo spirit of the island and we are so grateful to have learned from her. My husband is low vision, and she took extra care to be sure he was safe and comfortable in the tour. Thank you so much for the amazing visit, and for the beautiful photograph on the beach. We look forward to returning soon and stocking up on all the salt blends and magnesium drops!
COLD, very cold. Bone aching cold. Took 3 tries to finally keep my feet in the water. Fun experience, feet felt great afterwards.
48 degree deep sea water soak in an outdoor, ocean view, spa-like surrounding. Fun way to wrap up the tour and spend a bit more time enjoying nature. My husband did have a harder time with the cooler water temperature, however, I had no issues whatsoever (you can pull your feet out of the water if you need to!).
Once you get over the shock of the temperature and settle in the soak feels great. Feet felt good for hours afterwards. Recommended after the tour
This is a must do! It was so relaxing and refreshing. My feet felt marvelous and invigorated afterwards.
Michael was awesome. Very friendly and respectful. Highly recommend the salt water foot soak. Cold but refreshing and feet feel so good.
If you can’t handle cold temperatures it might not be for you but it’s a very nice set up. The idea is to get all the benefits of the magnesium in the cold deep ocean salt water. You have 20 minutes. I personally could only handle one minute in and then had to take my feet out. Probably only did a total of 8-10 min. It’s fun to do this as a group.
Very nice experience. Staff is very accommodating. Would definitely recommend. We did that cold foot soak which was nice on a hot day.
This was a first for us and a great unique experience. A bit of awakening in the beginning but once we adjusted we were fine. Feet felt great all day afterwards. Everyone at the farm was so nice and informative. The salt samplings were an added bonus. Needless to say we left with a bag full of goodies. We will return!
The Kona Salt Farm tour guide was very knowledgeable and professional when recounting the history of this wonderful place. I never knew how much labor went into the process of farming Salt. The Magnesium foot soak involves bone chilling cold water, but the results were well worth it 👍🏾 Highly recommend 👍🏾
We go every time we visit the island. It is a must. We recommend to all our friends!! We will be back soon.
It was a great experience. It was educational as well. My children are older 17 and above. They enjoy soaking their feet in the ocean water. It made our feet feel so much better. The gentleman who helped was great.
The Deep Ocean Water Foot Soak was very relaxing and felt great. Would definitely recommend this along with the tour of the Salt Farm.
We visited late in the day and had a great time. Very friendly staff made for a memorable and fun experience! Highly recommend this!
Educational & Tasty The tour was comprehensive and included seeing all the stages and equipment used. The information was interesting as many of us have never thought about how we get salt and the taste testing at the end sealed the deal of all the options and flavors available.
We did the Sea Salt tour, then finished with the foot soak. There were 13 of us in our group and they were very accommodating. The tour was interesting, the speaker even took the time to take our picture while we were at the water's edge! Foot soak was extremely cold (46 degrees) but after a few minutes, became more comfortable and feet felt great! Enjoyed the tasting time and the shopping too!
20 minutes not enough at least 30 minutes it will be helpful. I believe there’s a reason why only 20 minutes only. 20 mins ok
It should be 20 minute soak, not 10 minutes only. Especially since we have to spend time driving there normally, and there is no real therapeutic benefit with only 10 minutes.
Wow this was a great experience felt so good. Will be doing it every time I'm in Kona. Was in a comfy shady spot a real treat.
Everyone should try the cold water foot soak at least once. The benefits come to you upon the completion of the experience. It recharges and energizes you for the rest of your day. This is the second time I have done this foot soak. I would do it daily if I lived in the local area.
What an amazing experience! Cold but refreshing and my feet and legs felt so good after! Great host!
We really enjoyed this tour. Very informative and beautiful area. The tasting experience was awesome. The variety of salts are delicious! We also did the foot soak - it is worth it😊
It is a very clean and beautiful setting. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. My feet felt amazing afterwards
We loved this, it hurt so good. We all slept so well and felt an overall sense of relaxation. I am going to go back tomorrow.
A lovely tour of the salt farm - very educational! The finale was the deep ocean mineral foot soak. Omg the water was so cold…invigorating to say the least!
We did the tour and the deep water foot soak. It was a great experience. Our guide was passionate and explained the entire process in how they harvest the salt. The tasting was a great way to experience all their flavors on different fruits and vegetables. The deep water foot soak was refreshing and relaxing great way to reengerize your feet.
You certainly get cooled down on a hot Kona afternoon with this foot soak!! It was exhilarating, to say the least. I mainly went because my sister recommended it and because I wanted to support a small local business. I went in skeptical, and I came out a believer. For reals! I have suffered from knee pain since a fall 2023 car accident. Walking long distances or standing for a long time hurts the knees. I went 2 days ago. No knee pain since. Miracle? Coincidence? I dunno. But I'm sold! You'll have to try it for yourself. I highly recommend them. Michael was pleasant to talk story with. He recognized I was a local transplant. The salt variety was great too. Purchased several for family on the mainland.
Expect your water to be freezing cold, but dipping in and out you can end up staying in longer and longer. My feet had been killing me from all of the walking I had done and this was just what I needed. It is great for swelling and circulation.
It was amazing learning how salt from the ocean becomes salt for your table. The guide was very informative and engaging. We finished by having the foot soak. My feet still feel fantastic. I highly recommend this tour.
