We had a wonderful tour today with our guide, Gregory. We really enjoyed having our own private vehicle and being able to see all the places we wanted to visit and stop for photos whenever we liked. The food was delicious, and we managed to fit in everything we wanted to do. We can highly recommend this tour and would definitely recommend Gregory as a guide!

Highly recommend the custom island tour. We were able to incorporate landmarks that were a priority for us to see, plus leaving it to our tour guide to suggest the best of the island for us to experience. Our guide Conrad was extremely knowledgeable about everything and shared insights that we appreciated learning from. We thought the price was quite reasonable relative to other excursions we booked, given we were a group of four on our own schedule

Conroy picked us up promptly and 8:00am and we had a great 8 hours. We stopped at many sights, visited a cocoa shop, a macadamia nut farm, and totally enjoyed the day. Conroy was knowledgeable, we learned a lot about Hawai’i, and kept us entertained the entire day. We’ve been on 3 islands on this trip and this was the best tour. 6 stars out of 5.

Our full island tour with Conroy was one of the best decisions we made during our stay on Oahu. After spending our first few days in Waikiki, it was great to get out and experience the rest of the island. Waikiki is fun, vibrant, and exciting, but seeing the North Shore and many of the other areas around Oahu gave us a much better appreciation for the island as a whole. Conroy was an outstanding guide. As a true local, he shared not only the history of the island but also personal stories and experiences that made the tour feel much more authentic than simply listening to a scripted presentation. We especially enjoyed visiting some of his favorite spots, including beaches and local stops we never would have found on our own. Not every stop was a home run—the shrimp truck we visited was a little underwhelming—but that was a very small part of an otherwise excellent day. We learned a lot, saw some beautiful parts of the island, and came away feeling like we had experienced the real Oahu rather than just the tourist areas. If you’re visiting Oahu and want to see more than Waikiki, this tour is absolutely worth the time and money. We had a great day and would highly recommend it.

This was the most amazing tour any of us have ever done! Sean was so amazing and he took us around all the best spots on the island. Was the best energy and such an amazing guide, told us all the Hawai’i history- truly left with such a great love for the island and excited to try all the spots he recommended to us!!! This is a MUST-DO tour. Custom Island Tours, LLC A complete 360-degree drive around the coast of Oahu. Stopping at the scenic overlooks, parks, and other interesting places. Just you and the driver. Driver “JP” was born on the island and is very knowledgeable about sites, including famous locations and the homes of famous people. Nice stress-free tour, which one hopes for on vacation, picked up and dropped off at our hotel. I will do it again on my next trip to Oahu. Mr. Shawn Shane at Custom Island Tours was a wonderful private tour guide. He listened to our wishes, was very flexible, gave us some new experiences, was very friendly, easy to deal with, and knew interesting parts of history and customs that was very impressive. Not only did he take us to so many beautiful scenic and historical sites and his stories made our trip much more entertaining! Highly recommended!

JP was our guide and driver. He called me in the morning before the tour to align on pickup location and time. Due to recent storms in Oahu, we had to rearrange sights of interest. JP was very much tuned into road status and suggested various places to visit. He seeked our opinions as well as likes/dislikes to ensure we have a wonderful excursion. We appreciate his flexibility but also vast amount of knowledge on Hawaiian islands and places we visited. We had a wonderful in spite of weather and road closures.

We had a great day and tour with our guide JP This is something that I would recommend to anyone traveling to Hawaii. The cost was not bad and the van holds 9+1 travelers comfortably.

Had a great day traveling all over Oahu with our guide JP. We got to see all the things we were interested in seeing, at our own pace. JP provided lots of local and historic insight. Highlights included the beautiful scenery, Dole Plantation and rum tasting at Kohana.

JP was our guide and driver and we had a wonderful day. He was super knowledgeable about his recommendations and even through we come to Honolulu every year, he surprised us with one of the best lunch restaurants we had ever eaten at here and a beautiful waterfall Hike that the whole family enjoyed. We wanted to have a tour of Oahu but at our own pace. After looking up many different companies we choose Custom Island tours. The website was current and informative. It was easy to book online. In fact I was sitting on the beach when I booked the tour. Communication before the day was excellent. Day of our guide JP checked in on us and confirmed our pick up location with a picture to make it super clear. JP picked us up with a smile and a nice van with AC and in seat chargers. There was plenty of room for the family and our gear. We had a great trip and learned lots of interesting facts about Hawaii in a personal non cheesy way. JP knew all the sites to see and modified and adjusted the schedule to fit our needs. We got to see amazing views and got the inside scoop on the best shrimp on the North Shore. My family and I did a private tour with Conroy this week - 8 hours of bliss! We were all a little tired following a family wedding, so our goal was to do a tour at a relaxed pace but also see a lot. He definitely checked ALL the boxes! He knew great food spots and showed us so many of the best sights on the North Shore. He listened to what we wanted to see/do and gave us an absolutely perfect day. He even dropped us off at the end of the day at a luau! Can't say enough good things. We had a great tour with JP. We tried to cram in a lot and JP helped us navigate what to see. He was very knowledgeable, gave us time limits to get back to the car to make sure we saw as much as we could. He even was kind enough to drive back to our hotel (Moana Surfrider) from Pearl Harbor, during traffic, to get our friends who joined us on tour. Took us to Dole plantation, north shore told us all about surfing and movies about surfing (also a North Shore movie fan) Waimea falls, a cool place to eat garlic shrimp, Kualoa Ranch, Nuʻuanu Pali Lookout and more. Custom Island Tours delivered exactly what they said they would and more. They showed up at our hotel timely. We chose the Sample Itinerary although you are welcome to request specific sites. It covered many things we wanted to see but we were a bit disappointed to find out that tour companies are not allowed to stop at a number of places. Carey was extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating . Would highly recommend this company.

We took this tour with the intent of getting a general idea of the geography and culture of Hawaii/Oahu Island. Our expectations were absolutely fulfilled, and our guide, Conroy, was knowledgeable, cordial, and interested in sharing details about everything we were doing or looking at. We booked an Island Tour and Conroy was our driver and guide. Conroy was brilliant. He contacted us prior to his arrival advising the car he was driving. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable . We had a lovely lunch at the Shrimp stalls and our overall experience was one to remember. We had a 12 year old boy on the trip and he thoroughly enjoyed it as well, at first being sceptical. Conroy did a very good job explaining things around the island and taking us everywhere we wanted to go. He was friendly and a great tour guide. The private tour is pricey, but we chose it because we stayed in Ko 'Olina and most of the cheaper tours would not pick up from there. If you're staying in Waikiki then I would probably go with a cheaper tour. It was very nice to have a tour just for us though, so if you can afford it then go private.

Shawn was an amazing tour guide! He’s extraordinarily well-versed in the history of the islands and of Oahu and is engaging. He is willing to make adjustments to the schedule based on the interest of the person/ people he’s driving around. I really appreciate his humor and his aloha spirit.

The Custom Island tour of Oahu was very disappointing. Our tour guide JP was nice enough and drove the van safely , but he was NOT a guide. There was very little narrative throughout the drive about where we were going, what we would see there, the history of Oahu or the Hawaiian people themselves. Very little general knowledge information about Hawaii was shared at all. Our travel companions felt we should have rented a car and downloaded a travel app to guide us around the Island. We spent a lot of money for a disappointing outing.

Conroy was awesome. Our tour was so full of everything and we stopped at so many fun local spots we would have never known about without him. Top notch!!!!

For our family trip, I decided to book a private tour around the island since my brothers have not been to Oahu and we were celebrating our parents 50th Anniversary. What a treat it was. Conroy, who grew up on the island, was our tour guide so it was great to get the perspective from a local and learn more about the history and fun facts of Oahu. Conroy is also very personable so it felt like a friend was showing us around. He took us to a bunch of spots that I’ve never been to and I have been to the island several times. We were even able to see baby turtles swimming by the beach up in the North Shore! The food places he took us to were awesome as well- Leonard’s food truck for malasadas, Waiāhole poi factory for a taste of their kulolo (sweet poi), Tropical Farms for their macadamia nuts and coffee, Tanaka Kahuku shrimp for lunch, a fresh fruit stand where he treated us to banana lumpia and then finally to the Dole Plantation for Dole whip. Everything we had was delicious. We were so full and happy when he dropped us back to our hotel. Going on this private tour was well worth the money spent. Ask for Conroy! Thank you for making this trip memorable for me and my family.

Our driver JP was very knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed being able to do the things we were most interested in. We went to a Japanese temple, rum tasting, Dole Plantation, authentic Hawaiian lunch, coffee groves, Ioloni Palace, Diamond Head etc. very nice tour. Worth the money.

Great experience as our tour guide, Eddie, is very knowledgeable about the island and the culture. If you are into the ocean and surfing, he is your man as he knows all the great spots and contests with beautiful scenery along the way.

We made a last minute request for a private island tour. All other tours were already booked. Our guide, Conroy, picked us up at the hotel right on time in a large comfortable van and customized our tour to what we were interested in. He had grown up on the island and had knowledgeable answers for all of our many questions, ranging from geology to native customs and history to surfing. We ringed the island for the 8 hour tour and were never bored. Wherever we stopped, the locals there knew him, and he knew just where to stop. He even treated to his favorite special desert after lunch. Nothing negative at all, except maybe a device to amplify his commentary for those in the back of the van. One helpful hint: Call Custom Island Tour directly rather than go through the hotel concierge because the hotel keeps a whooping 25-33% of the tour fee for making the call.
