Elf was a great guide but traffic made the car trip longer and less time to maybe stop at the roadside views. Being our first trip to Hawaii we were unaware of the travel time between the sites we wanted to see. It took more than two hours for a round trip to north end and when they are trimming trees on a two lane road, it takes longer. We also spent about 1.5 hours at Waimea valley nature preserve walking to the waterfall and interacting with a cultural ambassador at the garden. Elf Took a beautiful picture of us overlooking Waimea Bay, her suggestion of a pose was spot on. Elf is very knowledgeable about the Island and we enjoyed her company. She did make an agenda that met our needs. We had one food truck to try but it was giovanis garlic shrimp which was great. She did stop at a road side and we tried a wonderful drink called oti. The macadamia farm we stopped at was not very educational because we did not get to even see the tree that macadamia nuts come from but they are socially responsible.

Elf showed up on time to pick us up and took took us to the most scenic places you could think of, she was open to take us to anywhere we wanted to go, but she had a few hidden gems of our own. The best part was her company. We chatted all day and at the end of the day we left feeling like old friends don’t hesitate to take this trip. You will love Elf.!

Our tour was perfect! Elf is a wonderful person with so much knowledge of O’ahu. She listened to our ideas, asked questions, made suggestions and crafted exactly what we wanted (without us knowing exactly what we wanted). I don’t even know how we got so much in our day and didn’t feel rushed at any point. She’s an amazing person with a kind soul and years of experience. It felt like a day with an old friend. We had an excellent day with elf! She contacted us in advance to ask what we would like to do on our tour. She informed us that one thing we wanted to do would not be possible due to the surf conditions. She then asked us about our interests and came up with fantastic alternatives! What could have been a disappointment turned out to be an excellent day of discovery! She was engaging and very knowledgeable about Oahu. My husband and visited Oahu to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. Because we only have 3 days here before we move on to another island and because it’s my hubby’s first time in Hawaii, I wanted to find a private tour company to see interesting parts of the island while avoiding the tourist traps. Two month’s prior to our trip, I booked a private tour with Custom Island Adventure Tour. Our host, Elf reached out right away to get a sense of what we would like to see and where our interests lay. She was very responsive and designed an itinerary that allowed us to make the most of our time together. She was very candid about what we could and could not fit into a seven hour tour, which I immensely appreciated. We stayed in touch for the time prior to our trip and the night before, Elf called us to finalize our schedule and confirm the pickup time. Elf arrived on time at our Waikiki and greeted us with her warm, beautiful energy. We had an amazing day! We took the scenic route to the North Shore, stopping a former sugar plantation where we sampled local coffee and amazing chocolate. Then we visited the cute little town of Haleiwa for coffee and shopping. Next we stopped at Waianae Valley, where we hiked to the Waterfall! The journey was unbelievably beautiful! We stopped for lunch at a cool little food truck park what we partook in Garlic Shrimp! Super tasty! We make a few stops at scenic overlooks and the to Byosin Temple. Before heading back to our hotel, we stopped at Leonard’s for Masaladas! All along the way, Elf educated us on local culture and shared her “ good vibes”. Elf is amazing and am so grateful an unforgettable experience! I would highly recommend her company and hope our paths cross again someday!!

Elf is such an amazing guide. She took us to the two places we wanted and to see places and views we didn't even know about. I would recommend Elf to anyone who wants a private, personalised tour. Really cool.

We had a wonderful day. Elf was so knowledgeable and accommodating. We were able to see everything we wanted to and spend as much time as we needed. She also took us to some places to try some of the local food. Highly recommend.

I did not attend this tour and was denied a refund the day before even though the company calls just shy of 24 hrs prior to confirm tour locations. Meaning, if you are denied a location that is provided on the website, you will be denied a refund. This seems extremely unethical in my book. The tour does not provide sites as described on the website. The tour guide was extremely rude and abrasive and did not provide recommendations of where to go. I asked the tour guide to stop texting/emailing me after I asked repeatedly to not; however my ask was disregarded and she reached out to me four additional times. If you book this tour you must do the research on your own and this service is basically a driving service. Save the money and rent a car for the day. I would not recommend this tour to visitors.

One of the best tours we have ever done. Elf was the best tour guide & we felt totally at home with her. We had things we wanted to see that she was so knowledgeable on & she added her ideas that we enjoyed as well. If you want to take a tour with an awesome guide & catered 100% to your own private group-this is the one. Some of the best money we spent on our trip!!

Our day with Elfie was the highlight of our whole trip. We came in by cruise ship so we only had 1 day to spend there. Elfie picked us up at Port which was very convenient and we spent the day seeing the most amazing sights. She is absolutely delightful! Can't wait to go back and see her again. Elf our quide was fun knowledgeable about Oahu and did what WE wanted. We toured almost the entire island for about 8 hours. I even saw a turtle on the beach. That was a must. Tour ended with a last min trip to Dole plantation. Dole Whip was ….WOW!!! Thanks Elf 🩷🌺

Great tour. We are a family of 5 and Ms Elf did a fantastic job of pleasing every age (adult, teen, and younger). Went out of her way to ensure we were happy, comfortable, and overall had a great experience. Highly recommend this tour and guide to anyone.

This custom tour is the best! We were able to circle the island and see the sights we wanted to see without ever feeling rushed. The personal tour with Elf is the only way to tour the island! Don't waste your money or time on the midsized or large bus tours. Elf is amazing and will work with you to customize the tour to areas and sites that you want to see. You can spend as much time at each place and are not rushed. She is a long time resident of Hawaii, a former surfer and now an accomplished body surfer... she is very friendly and has a great attitude. We were picked up at our hotel in Waikiki and we went to the following: Nuuanu Pali lookout China Hat Macadamia store Byodo Temple North Shore beaches Lunch in Waleiwa and shaved ice at Matsumotos Waimea falls Dole plantation We didn't do Halona blowhole as we did that when we did the Makapuu lighthouse hike She doesn't work everyday so hopefully you can find a day when she is working... use her and you won't regret it. Elf was fantastic. My daughter (23) and I had a few things planned and let Elf pick the rest and we were not disappointed. Elf accommodated all our requests and showed us some things we didn’t even know about. It was a nice relaxing day with enjoyable company. It was like having a friend who knew the area showing you her home island. Elf is part of our family memories forever. She is what I term “good people” who you feel better just knowing. Great tour and great operator. So glad she was real and not a “Karen”!

Elf was an amazing guide ! She catered to what we wanted to do and showed us some amazing spots on the island. She was friendly, engaging and ver knowledgeable and I would highly recommend her for seeing the sights of this beautiful island .

I misunderstood something Elf had told me, which was fine... but her level of frustration and the way she scolded me for it was not okay. I was so speechless and uncomfortable when I got off of the phone with her that I immediately texted her and told her that I didn't think we hit it off well and we would like a refund for the trip. I was trying to take the high road and not be ugly, even though I was just yelled at like a child, so I told her the way she spoke to me made me very uncomfortable and I did not feel okay with being in a car with her the next day. She responded by calling me a "Karen". I Blocked her from my phone and had to spend the whole night worried if she was still going to show. If you go on this trip, I recommend that you talk to her before your 24 hours is up to cancel. I messaged about talking sooner a couple of times and she would not talk to me until the evening before when my cancelation window was already closed. She denied my refund and I ended up paying for a trip we didn't even get to take. This was supposed to be a gift for my husband's 40th birthday.

Elf is amazing. She is a Hawaii local for many decades. She is immersed in the culture and lifestyle. You will be picked up from your hotel and taken on an adventure all around the island. Based on your requests she can tailor the experience. We got to see so many unique and beautiful parts of the Oahu. Being with Elf makes all the difference of really immersing yourself in and understanding all the beauty Hawaii has to offer. Definitely book this private tour!

Elf 🧝‍♀️ has a passion for the island. This is a private tour like no other. She takes the time to give you a history of the island as well as support local businesses. She shows her love for the island, yet also respects its visitors and gives a different perspective of Hawaii other than the obvious tourist traps. Elf is amazing!!! She took us (my mother, 48, my brother, 22, and me, 19) all over the island, we went snorkeling which was AMAZING, we had lunch at a local food cart lot which was so great! And lastly we did a hike to a waterfall. The whole experience was terrific, Elf’s energy is contagious and she completely customized the experience to our capabilities and wants. I highly recommend her adventure day it was definitely an experience I will never forget!

ELF was amazing. She knows the island inside and out and can tell you about the people and culture that varies around the island. The best part of the tour is how much you can tailor it to your interests. My wife and I are young and like adventures (that take some physical tolls) and adventure is what we got. If you are a good swimmer, electric beach is a MUST, the best snorkeling. We did this on our second day here and we’re able to plan the rest of our trip based on her advice. We were so amazed by how awesome our day was with Elf! We packed in adventures and made so many memories! Elf knows all the right places to go, where to eat and she knows how to accomplish filling the day with a variety of experiences. Elf is delightful to spend the day with! I loved being able to chat with Elf all throughout the day about Oahu history, sites and food while on our way to adventures. She had a wealth of knowledge about everything and was so fun and interesting to have as our guide. I wasn’t quite sure what we would do and she confidently lead the planning of our day. Our snorkeling experience was the best I’ve ever had! I would do another day with Elf in a heartbeat! She is a gem.

Elf was a wonderful tour guide. She customized the tour to fit my and my daughter's needs and desires. We wanted to view cultural sights in Hawaii. She planed the day for us visiting Queen Emma's summer palace, scenic views, a local lunch spot, and Byodo-In Temple. She is very knowledgeable about the island and so friendly. If you’re looking to book a private tour of Oahu, your search is over! While there are so many individuals and companies offering private tours, this is by far the BEST! First of all, let me start of by saying that ELF, the tour operator, is so knowledgeable about the island and all of the wonders it has to offer! She starts off by picking you up wherever you are staying and customizes your tour to include whatever you desire to do! No ask too big or too small, just make the request and Elf makes it happen. Better yet, if you don’t have any idea what exactly it is you want to do or see, no worries, Elf has you covered! First Elf took us to a local coffee shop, where you can get that perfect cup of energy to start your adventures. Next she drove us by the Dole Plantation on our way to the North Shore and Bonsai pipeline where rows of Pineapple plants were all the eye could see. No need to stop there, you can do that without a tour guide if you desire. After we had our fill of watching the surfers tear up the waves, Elf took us the shrimp trucks, so we could stuff our face with tasty shrimp plates! Next we drove to a cliff off the coast and take in some gorgeous views. Elf then drove us by Kualoa Ranch and Jurassic Valley on our way to Chinaman’s Hat. Elf took us to a macadamia nut farm, with awesome free samples and great souvenirs to bring home. Our next stop was the Valley of the Temples. One of the most beautiful cemeteries you’ve ever seen, with views from the top of the mountain that are to die for lol. Lastly, Elf took us on an absolutely breathtaking hike to a private waterfall that you’ll never be able to find on your own. Too many great memories were made and it’s all thanks to Elf! Stop thinking and just book her tour, you won’t regret it!!!

Elf took us around the island, ask us about our interest and took us to all the place we want to see. Have a perfect lunch at a hole in a wall local place and then the hike to the hidden waterfall is more than perfect. Would recommend this to anyone who looking for a private day tour that has great energy and fun time.
