Had a great time on this trip with my family! They were so accommodating with my families variety of needs and comfort! We saw so many turtles and couldn’t believe how close we were! It was the trip of a lifetime which I won’t forget!

This was an amazing tour! Shane, our tour guide was great. Very courteous, accommodating, knowledgeable, and genuinely nice guy! Timely pickup, comfortable vehicle, just the right amount of time at each location. A full day of interesting stops, with shopping, fresh local food, a great hike, and snorkeling added. Yesterday we did a Circle Island Tour and had such an amazing time. We were in a group of 7 people who quickly became our Ohana for the day. Shane our tour guide was so rich in knowledge in the language, the history, the culture and just all round great “braddah” He quickly made us all feel like family and made sure all of us were all comfortable and kept us all engaged. I’ve always liked Maui over Oahu, but after this tour and learning the history the culture and experiencing the sites, I have a new found appreciation for Oahu. Shane was a very knowledgeable guide and super friendly! He took us snorkeling and we even got to see a swimming sea turtle! Afterwards we visited great local food truck, shaved ice, and macademia nuts. We topped off the trips with views of island that were breathtaking. Would recommend to any friends and family!

The Island Tour with Shane was the highlight of my trip!!! One of the nicest guys I've ever met. So knowledgeable about Oahu / Hawaii (the area, the history of the island, the plants, the language, the sea life, the places to see, the surfing, etc.) I was with a group of friends who are in their 70's. He made sure everyone was taken care of. Helping us all getting in and out of his van. Always went above and beyond for us all. He calls everyone sister / brother, which made us all feel like a lifelong friend. We started the day driving up to overlook the Southern Point of Oahu. Even saw a rainbow overlooking Waikiki Beach. Went to Nu'uanau Pali Lookout. The views from both locations are breathtaking. Went to a Macadamia Nut Farm for some local treats. Went to local beaches to see sea turtles. Ate lunch a local food trucks then got dessert at the famous Matsumoto Shave Ice. Ended our day at Sharks Cove (no sharks in Sharks Cove), to snorkel. Shane brought bread to feed / attract the fish. All kinds of beautiful fish swam around us. Saw eels, sea urchins, small fish, big fish, crabs and more sea turtles. Then we walked around an area to check out more fish and the reefs. If you are considering a local tour on Oahu, do not hesitate, use Shane. I really can't say enough good things about him!!!

My son, his girlfriend and a couple of their friends were traveling to O'ahu for the first time. I wanted to gift them with a Circle Island Tour to get them acquainted with the island. I by-passed the typical tours offered by the larger companies because I wanted something better than the big tour bus packed with tourists going to the typical tourist spots. I found Adventures In Paradise O'ahu and knew instantly, based on the website and itinerary advertised (they limit the tour to no more than 10 people), that this was the Circle Island tour I wanted my son and his friends to go on. Shane was AWESOME. He was friendly, professional and called me to answer some questions that I had. He promised me he would 'take care of the kids' and he did not disappoint. My son and his friends had a BLAST - Shane personalized the tour and made their first visit to Hawai'i one they will never forget.

We booked this small group tour a week before our visit to Oahu and were extremely grateful we discovered Shane. He is a local, very knowledgeable, and made us feel as if we have been friends for years. We communicated by text/phone to ensure we were prepared for our tour with snorkeling and a bit of hiking. He picked us up promptly and took us a route that avoided frustrating tour traffic while still enjoying the surrounding beauty and key sights with one other couple. The excursion was a great mix of natural beauty, history and activities. We stopped at the Diamondhead lookout, snorkeled on the north shore in a protected bay, visited the macadamia nut farm, enjoyed local food truck fare (freshly caught marlin burrito yum), hiked to a waterfall through rainforest, visited Nu'uanu Pali Lookout, the sacred cliff where around 400 warriors were plunged to their death, and more. Shane was a great storyteller who shared a lot about island history and demonstrated a genuine interest in getting to know his guests. He is an sll around great guy and guide. We would highly recommend booking this tour or one of his other experiences. If we were here longer, we would have a booked a second one. Mahalo, Shane for the memorable experience!

The Circle island tour was a perfect start to our vacation. I would highly recommend everyone to go on this tour. The snorkeling was amazing and the views we saw were unbelievable. This really gave us an opportunity to see the whole island and help plan the rest of our vacation with the recommendations we got from our guide. Shane was a great host and tour guide. He was so great that we even booked a private surf lesson with him and Captain Neil. Which I would also highly recommend. Especially if you are staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, which in our case we were at the Hilton Grand Islander, as the surf lessons were on the resort. Truly was a great experience!

This was our second experience with Shane during our stay in Hawaii. After doing the surfing lesson we found out they do private tours. Sign me up!! We went two days later. What an awesome tour. We had taken another tour that was just ok. Like being locked in a hot can of farts for 8 hours. Shane has a very nice van. He doesn’t crowd it and Shane took us to a bunch of really great places. He asked what we wanted to see and where we wanted to go. Not where he wanted to take us. We had lunch at this row of food trucks not just one place that he has the hook up with. The food was awesome and it was nice to have a choice of lunch. We saw so many great places and the tour was tailored to what we wanted. Shane was very informative and was always will to answer questions. Great tour!!

We had a great time exploring the north shore and other parts of the island with Shane. We also visited the Manoa falls and many scenic over looks and went up the mountain. At the end of the day, Shane and Neil took us surfing. I hadn’t gotten up on a board before and I got it on my first try! My daughter also managed to catch a few waves despite being terrified at first. It was a great day and I am grateful for the new friends I made!

Our tour with Shane was the highlight of our visit. Shane was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and kindhearted. Our kids (ages 8 & 9) loved Shane and only refer to him now as "Uncle Shane". It looked like rain may interfere with our tour plans so Shane came up with numerous different options for us to think about but we didn't even have to use them because we were able to dodge the rain! Shane has a vast knowledge of the history of the island and we learned so much as we visited spots all over the entire island. Seeing the massive waves crash along the eastern side was very impressive.

We had a fantastic full day experience with Shane! He showed us so much of Oahu that we never would have seen without him. We snorkeled, we hiked, we went to a bunch of beautiful scenic places, and Shane told us so much about Hawaii and the island of Oahu along the way. He’s a really nice guide who’s well informed and really easy to spend the day with. He’s also laid back so willing to change the itinerary if the small group wants to do something different. I really recommend this experience.

We’re visiting from Florida and were enjoying our stay but our visit took a total 180 and we got so amped once we met Shane and totally fell in love with Hawaii!! It’s truly a new experience once you see the island through the eyes of a passionate and enthusiastic local. Our vacation would not have been the same if we had not spent the day with Shane. We’re so totally grateful for the adventure - it was worth every penny… PRICELESS actually.

Shane was awesome, knowledgeable and very generous! There was never a dull moment. Shane was on top of communications, despite the fact that I was inquiring to book with him at least 6+ months in advance. He was very prompt in his pickup time and we were definitely in an air conditioned vehicle as promised. If there was one thing that Shane was great at, it was his friendly and laid back personality. He made the tour a breeze and catered it towards our liking. Never felt pressured to do anything. I give major credit to his experience as he was able to adjust our tour agenda so as to visit each destination with as little traffic as possible. It was interesting seeing crowds just start to build up right as we were about to leave. Excellent timing. One word of advice though. I highly recommend booking through Trip Advisor directly. I actually booked using Chase’s Travel Portal and ended up jumping through so many hoops just to get all the needed details about the tour. Had to call Chase & Viator until they finally got me over to Shane. After Shane took over, everything was a breeze.

The whole tour was just amazing and completely ine of a kind! Me and my mom enjoyed every moment of it! Jake our tour guide was fantastic! And Uncle Tim just the best job making sure we were safe the whole time!

We did this on the last day of the trip and it was the perfect way to end our vacation. Shane customized the adventure based on what we wanted to do. The snorkeling was beyond incredible. We saw a turtle up close and many gorgeous fish. Kids walked the rocks with Shane while the adults lounged on the beach. We went to a lookout and hiked up to Moana Falls - which is a must-see area. Big thanks to Shane for such a fun day!

Shane is a wonderful tour guide. He customized our island tour for the perfect day around the north shore of Oahu with snorkeling, reef exploring, hiking to the Manoa Falls, finding the best poke and shaved ice on the island and other sightseeing wonders. Shane is very personable, friendly and knowledgeable about the Hawaiin culture. My family had the best day.

We booked additional adventures with Shane after meeting him for a private surf lesson. We did a private customized tour, and had a blast seeing the island with him. A huge highlight was getting to turtle beach at the perfect time and seeing lots of sea turtles. Shane is an amazing human being, who clearly loves the island and we had a blast hanging out with him. Shane as a tour guide made this tour truly the highlight of our trip! We had a phenomenal time. Off the beaten path to private beaches, incredible knowledge of every area with history, language and cultural information. We met the locals, sampled the food, snorkeled with a friendly turtle, cliff jumping, even shopping. The views and locations were breathtaking. He listened to what we wanted, and we even detoured to Dole to ship back pineapples and eat Dole whip! Shane was kind, funny and attentive. We truly felt “ohana” ! We added on a private surf lesson with Shane and Neil and my daughter now has the best foundation to build on to surf. Attention to detail, care for safety, 100% professional. She caught many waves- and was able to ride them as well. Much love for these guys! We will be back!

He is a born & raised Hawaiian, so he knows a lot about the island of Oahu and will share all kind of info with you. Shane was a phenomenal guide! Incredibly knowledgeable about the island history and the good local places to eat/visit. We got to see a whole other part of the island through someone who lived there which was really cool. The snorkeling was the best part! Tons of fish came right up to us and we got to feed them too.

Shane is the best thing to happen while in Hawaii! He makes touring around the island fun and interesting. He modified the tour to our own personal preference with activities we requested. Shane is a marvelous guide. He was dedicated on taking us wherever we wanted. With his guidance and our interests we traveled around the island and saw many different places. My sister in law’s favorite was the snorkeling and my favorite was the different views we got to see when we went to the other side of the island. Definitely the food truck area as well.

Shane is the best! We signed up for this trip expecting to have some fun local tours and snorkelling and the experience is BEYOND EXPECTATION! Shane was able to customize the trip for us since we want to do more local tours on less popular places. He also offered water and homemade banana budding (that was absolutely delicious!) He was also very knowledgeable about hawaii's history and culture, which we really appreciated. The weather was colder than we thouht, but Shane was patiently encouraging us and we were able to power through. Shane was also very kind-hearted and helpful. When I was a bit scared of snorkeling without my glasses, Shane helped me move around and guide me through all the rocks patiently. This really helped me enjoy snorkeling so much! In short, if you want a knowledgeable, patient, flexible, and super friendly guide, Shane is the one! Plus, he also teaches surfing (41 yrs of surfing) so worth another tour with him on surfing.

We had a blast touring around the island with Shane! He knew so much about every stop and even told us stories along the way. My two preteens had so much fun feeding fish at Shark’s Cove and seeing turtles. Shane was the most pleasant and family-friendly tour guide we’ve ever experienced. I highly recommend this tour when you’re on Oahu!

We originally gave Shane a two-day mission: Surf lessons for a 10-year-old girl, a good surf spot for dad (me), and things to do for my wife and 4-year-old. And btw, make it happen on the North Shore because a swell was arriving. Shane quickly came up with a plan that involved about 10 destinations on the North Shore, from shave ice to local landmarks to surfing. In the end, we spent four of our seven days on Oahu with Shane. We had a blast, and he never missed a beat. We surfed the North Shore and fed the fish in Waikiki. When we decided to take a last-minute detour to a museum, Shane didn’t blink: He knew just the right place to grab a cup of coffee on the way, dropped us off and picked us up at the museum, took us for photos in front of the King Kamehameha statue then finished off the day with a surf session in Waikiki as the sun set behind us and the hotel lights spread out in front of us. Shane had been recommended to us by another surf instructor but a couple things about Shane: He is not just a (great) surf instructor. He is an all-in-one adventure, food and history guide. He is also the real deal: Whenever and wherever we went surfing, he always knew someone in the water – if not everyone. I think the greatest compliment I can give Shane is this: When you tour with Shane you are not on a tour. It’s like hanging out with your friend or relative who just happens to be the unofficial mayor of Waikiki. As other people have posted here, I would add: Make sure you try the family banana bread. And finally, a sort of inside joke between Shane and I (you can ask him what it means): Buttons!

5 stars is not a high enough Mark for this tour. We were on holiday with our family of 6. And we're looking at some surfing lessons, and things to do on the island, rent a van and drive around ourselves or take a private tour We called Shane and he wanted to came to meet with us, to discuss our tour. We were blown away by Shane and his focus on our family. He asked about the personalities and likes of our 4 older kids as he wanted to tailor the tour to fill the whole family. Touring the island with Shane was amazing, his knowledge and love for the island was shared freely. On the morning leaving with Shane we quickly planned to add a second day with Shane and we were not disappointed. Shane was and continues to be a member of our family. The highlight beyond a doubt of our whole trip was the 2 days we spent Touring and surfing with Shane. He knew all the best beaches, waves and local hideouts. The tour was directed/ planned / but at the same time casual and if 10 stars were an option it would still not be high enough. 2 of our kids took to surfing under the guidance of Shane his patience and love of surfing is a joy to experience. Definitely our 1st call before we even land back in Hawaii will be to talk and book more time with this jewel of Hawaii and plan another day with Shane

Shane was such an awesome guide! He really made my family and I feel welcome to the island, and as a native to Oahu, he had so much information to share on our tour. He customized our tour to fit exactly what we wanted to do. He showed us all the best places on Oahu, and gave us time to get out and explore them. He guided us on a hike to Makapu’u Point Lighthouse Trail, which was beautiful! Shane was so patient and helped our 5 year old son when he was lagging behind. He also took us to a great snorkeling spot and snorkeled with us and allowed us plenty of time in the water. He even extended our tour and guided us on a hike to Manoa falls. The day we spent with Shane was the highlight of our trip, and having a private tour guide was so much better than being on a big tour bus. With an active family like ours, we were so glad to be able to get out and explore. We definitely recommend taking a tour with Shane!
