We had an amazing time on the Hang Loose Boat Tour! The views were absolutely breathtaking, the crew was friendly and knowledgeable, and the entire experience was so much fun. Everything was well organized, and it was definitely a highlight of our trip.Highly recommend

Amazing experience! I have done this trip and the Manta Ray trip multiple times and there is a reason I keep going back! The boat crew is knowledgeable about the island, interactive and makes the trip so much fun while keeping us all safe !

Jacob was very cool the mata ray tour is a must do with them, although the captain cook snorkel tour is hands down the best coral roof I've ever seen. I wish I had my camera I've seen about 5 different oceans and snorkled the captain cook monument topped them all. We seen a lot of dolphins and sea turtles as well. This is a trip I'll look back on years from now and think about and Jacob and his crew were a reason for that. Ps I NEVER write reviews

I’ve been on more than four snorkeling and boat tours in Hawaii, and this was by far the worst experience. First, the tour was advertised to start at 8:00 AM, with an 8:00 AM meeting time. However, the guide didn’t even show up until after 8:00, when guests from other tour companies had already departed. After boarding, we were forced to wait for a family that arrived 30 minutes late, and we didn’t depart until around 8:30. There was absolutely no respect for guests who arrived on time. Second, the crew was impatient, unhelpful, and provided almost no instructions. I brought my parents, who were unfamiliar with snorkeling equipment. We were simply handed life jackets and masks without any explanation. The life jackets required manual inflation, yet no one showed us how to use them. No one offered to help my parents with their snorkeling masks either. This lack of basic safety guidance is unacceptable, especially for beginners. Third, there wasn’t even enough food for everyone. Since we spent more time snorkeling, all the fruit was gone by the time we returned to the boat. When we asked, a crew member simply told us there was none left. Meanwhile, the family sitting next to us had a huge plate of fruit — ironically, the very same family that had arrived 30 minutes late and delayed the entire tour. Apparently, arriving on time and actually enjoying the snorkeling meant getting nothing. The sightseeing portion afterward was equally disappointing, with rushed, superficial explanations and little effort from the crew. The onboard slide and jumping platform were also very basic and underwhelming. Overall, this tour was poorly organized, badly managed, and lacked even basic customer service. Having experienced several other snorkeling tours in Hawaii, I can confidently say this was the worst one. I would strongly recommend booking with another company, especially if you’re traveling with family or first-time snorkelers.

Captain Jordan and Kawani were exceptional! We really enjoyed the entire experience! We saw many fish, urchins, a huge starfish and even an octopus while we were snorkeling. We highly recommend’

This was a great excursion. We have kayaked out there before and this was the first time we took a catamaran. It’s so much better this way! Snorkeling was great, we jumped off the top of the boat, it was nice to come back to lunch. I would highly recommend.

Jordan and our lifeguard/hostess, (I wish I could remember her name) were great. She is amazing at reading people and made sure everyone was comfortable. Loved the boat ride to and from. Much better than driving to and from the site. It made my adventure very pleasant. The weather was beautiful and I saw lots of fish. Unfortunately the dolphins were playing somewhere else the time whole week I was visiting. I would do it again for sure

Jacob and crew got us organized and on board quickly. The seas were choppy and he did a great job keeping the bumps to a minimum! Crew was very attentive and helpful. The bay is beautiful and you get plenty of time to snorkel! Highly recommend this trip!

The guide's were kind, funny, knowledgeable, and good looking. I couldn't ask for a better trip. This was a highlight of my honeymoon experience.

I’m so glad we booked the bigger boat. Good decision for us. Gave us a great view, breezes, and bumpy adventure driving out to Cook’s. It was nice to have ladders to get into water. There was also a slide and diving platform that we took advantage of. The snorkeling was great! We saw a parrot fish, angel fish, eel, trumpet fish and many more names I don’t know. The captain and crew were fabulous, checking on folks, and serving up a good sandwich lunch after our swimming fun. The history tour portions were shared by the Captain and was good but might have been nice if a separate guide was sharing because people might have been able to pay attention to the bits of knowledge better.

We were not sure if we wanted to do a snorkeling tour while on the Big Island but are really glad that we did! We had an enjoyable experience and even saw dolphins from the boat. There was ample time for snorkeling and felt very comfortable with the guidance provided. Lunch was yummy along with the snacks and drinks that were included!

We decided to charter off the ship and we couldn’t have been more pleased with that decision. They took us to an awesome snorkeling spot, saw dolphins and whales and did some swimming and diving.

We had such a great time on this snorkeling tour. Aiden was our guide and we couldn't have hoped for anyone better. Very knowledgeable about boating, the area, the culture, and everything we were there to see, plus he has a great sense of humor! Snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay was as great as the literature says it is. After snorkeling, we were served yummy sandwiches and chips.

We had such a fun time on this snorkel tour! Simon was so funny and made the whole experience even better. The entire crew was super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We had an amazing day, saw some beautiful ocean life, and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! 🐬🌊🤿 Definitely recommend!

I really loved the fact that the boat was fast getting to Captain Cook’s Cove, super fun! The team was great, lunch was perfect! Our family had a wonderful time!!! We will definitely book with them again!!!

Spectacular outing. The boat was clean and tidy, the tunes were rockin’, the crew was friendly and so helpful with gear and mask fitting questions. Captain Cook snorkeling was incredible. My son and I had the best time. There were granola snacks and water when you boarded and a sandwich and chips lunch served too. They even had an on-board fresh water shower when you finished snorkeling which felt marvelous. I only wished that they announced how they would communicate with us on when to return to the boat. We did not have a watch and when I asked how, the crew said, “ you’ll know.” My son and I were unclear on when to return so we were the last to get back. We heard them honking the horn multiple times but did not know they were addressing us bc there were multiple big boats in the bay. Overall, it was a wonderful outing- we have been smoking in SE Asia and the Caribbean and I recommend everyone to join this tour. They set the highest bar.

Captain and crew were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were patient with the newbies and gave more experienced snorkelers freedom to do our thing. I would recommend this boat to anyone wanting a great experience on the water.

Hang loose boat tours was the operator. Great crew on the double decker boat We did morning Cpt Cook morning snorkel. They provided lunch which was hoagie style sandwiches, cups, and pineapple. Had sprite and water to drink. They provided snorkel gear but we brought our own.

It was great. It would be good if we better understood when to come back to the boat. What a great adventure.

All dive snorkel shops are showing it’s not safe currently due to the surrounding hurricane weather. I reached out yesterday asking if this boat was still leaving. Never heard back yesterday, but got a text at 8:10 AM (meet time was 8) asking if I was lost. By then it was too late. I wasn’t going to drive an hour across an island when the business can’t even confirm the boat is safe to leave. So they got my $120 and I got a text of a picture of strangers snorkeling. There’s more to running a boat than driving the boat, if you can’t communicate with your guests you shouldn’t be in business!!!

Highly recommend this excursion. The staff was very helpful, entertaining and friendly. Snorkeling was awesome at the Captain Cook monument area and the view of the shoreline with multiple stops along the way were amazing. Great lunch and Captain Simon was very informative and knowledgeable about the area.

The crew were very friendly. We left on time and before departure they gave a clear explanation of the safety features of the boat and the tour schedule. The snorkel experience was nice. My spouse and child snorkeled while I stayed on the boat to enjoy the views. The crew were nice to me offering food and drinks while others were out in the water. They set up a water slide that many of the guests used. They then set up a jumping platform. Lunch was premade sandwiches, chips, fruit and drinks. We had 2 hours of snorkel time then we took a tour along the coastline. My spouse and daughter saw fish but no turtles or rays. On the way back to the dock the crew stopped for pictures and to look for dolphins. We did spot dolphins and the crew provided some information on dolphins and their sleeping habits. After docking, the crew directed us to turtle bay, which was a short walk from the dock where we were able to see lots of turtles and learn interesting information from a park ranger. I would recommend this tour as it was one of the longer more reasonably priced tours that also had a nonsnorkling option. Bonus points for the crew cracking jokes, playing 90s music and keeping everyone safe.

It is awesome!! The crew provided snacks water, sandwiches etc. The location for snorkeling is the best. I would only remind snorkels to look out for the kayaks they seem to pop up when I was not looking up. We saw so many species of fish and inverts. Stay closer to the rocks to see the best variety of life. I would do this trip again in a heartbeat.

We had a fantastic time as a family. Our Captain Jordan was knowledgeable about each part of the coast, he was also funny and engaging with the guests. If we had more time we would have booked with him again for the manta ray tours. The other crew mate Kehlani was great, she made sure we were all full and hydrated. If you are on the fence I urge you to try this tour. Safe, easy, fun snorkeling!

Hands down one of the best snorkel experiences that I have had on the big island. The Hang Loose crew were amazing particularly Kiwemami (not sure of spelling). She seemed to be everywhere doing everything making the experience perfect. The Captain Aiden gots us out to snorkel and on the way back took us to see some amazing caves and a pod of dolphins. The boat is very unique and looks a bit beat up but is quite comfy and had everything we needed. Was a little worried since I was snorkeling with my 85 and 82 year old parents but they got in and out of the boat easily, on land and out in the water. Last but not least I was able to snorkel the entire 90 minutes because the snorkel gear actually fit me properly. This is a first for me. Thank you!

Incredible experience! Great fun guides and nice long time to snorkel. Aiden who led the tour seemed passionate about his job and allowed us to see Different locations along the shore besides just the snorkel bay. Also got to see a lot of dolphins. The slide was fun as was the platform to jump off of. Loved hearing about the history.

Fantastic experience. Aiden and partner did a great job. They gave us good advice, we felt safe, great tour and the snorkeling was wonderful. We saw a lot of dolphins. My husband and I took our family of 6. Four young adults between the ages of 20-25. We loved it!

I almost want to keep this gem all to myself… but here goes with my shining review. 100% recommend, my specs: mom with a 6 year old boy. First off their snorkel gear, life vests, and pool noodle quality is top notch. Second, the guides were knowledgeable and friendly, plus bonus points for actually engaging with my kid, this equals high quality core memories. My kid loved it, which is huge as this was his first snorkeling experience. The water slide and high dive were super cool! My six year old loved the water slide :) I enjoyed the food, and my picky child had snacks and drinks that he was 100% satisfied with. Well done Saturday crew, you know who you are! And to the hang loose company, give kudos to the 8 AM crew on 8/22/26.

Amazing experience! The boat tour and snorkeling were absolutely wonderful. We also really enjoyed the live commentary throughout the trip—it was interesting, engaging, and added a lot to the experience. The chance to jump into the water was super fun too! Everything was very well organized and professionally handled. We would definitely recommend this experience!
