The guide and captain were great. Good fun even though we didn't see much but they invited us back to do it again for free

This was the best experience. I was very nervous going out on the water at night but Jake, Greg AJ and Kona(sp).were fantastic and very knowledgeable. Boat was really nice. We will do it again
Amazing!! My sister and I went together and we felt incredibly safe and saw manyyy mantas. The driver David was very skilled and Greg was very knowledgeable about the manta rays. They also offer to rent suits for $15 in case you get cold easily in the water which I thought was very nice. Overall, 10/10 absolutely recommend!
Deavon was an awesome guide and made the entire experience stress free!
This was an unforgettable experience. I have 5 people i need thank. Deavon was great with the communication of details and follow up to my questions. Ricki was extremely nice and helpful getting me my gear and storing my valuables when I was snorkeling. Kekoa our captain did a great job. Greg all day did an amazing job in the water. Khalayla was instrumental in taking care of my prosthesis and helping me in the boat. Here is the story. We were the last tour of the night. We had two couples joining us for there second time for free because the team wasn't happy with what they were able to see the previous night. All of us got into the water. After about 30 minutes of only seeing one Manta for a very short time we reloaded and we were going back in. Once again the team was not satisfied we got our money's worth so everyone was invited to reschedule for free. As we were leaving there was action from a different group. The Mantas were there. Greg all day asked if we wanted to go back in. That was a no brainer yea we did and we were not disappointed. The pictures you see of the Mantas is what this team was able to provide for me. 5 stars all the way. Thanks you Greg all day and the rest of the crew.
We had such a great experience with Hawaii Island and Adventure Tours! Deavon was our host and honestly could not have been better. He was super responsive, explained everything clearly, and anytime we had a question or issue, he took care of it right away. Communication was great from start to finish. The crew was awesome too. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and did a great job explaining everything and making sure everyone was comfortable. One person in our group had a really hard time getting off the boat, and the crew was incredibly patient and helpful, which we really appreciated. We only saw a few mantas on our first trip, but I was really impressed with how the company handled it. They offered us the chance to go again or try their Captain Cook day snorkeling trip instead. We chose the day trip, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our time there. Deavon was our host again, and the crew took us around, showed us different sights, taught us about the area, and gave us some great recommendations. The whole experience felt very personal and well organized. Even though the manta viewing wasn't quite what we hoped for, they really went above and beyond to make sure we still had an amazing experience. I'd absolutely recommend them and would definitely go with them again!
We had a great time with Hawaii Island and Adventure Tours. I had some trouble getting off the boat on the first trip, and the crew was extremely helpful and patient with me. I decided not to snorkel on the second trip, but they still made sure I had a great time. They kept me company while I stayed on the boat and showed me the sights along the way. The Captain Cook day trip was a great time, and Deavon and the crew took excellent care of all of us. I'd definitely recommend them.
Amazing tour! Smooth check-in and -out. Clear instructions and professional crews - big shoutout to Deavon, Koa, Kanana and Greg who kept us safe and made this journey so interesting. Saw 4 mantas, still feeling unreal as they were so close to us… unforgettable experience.
This was a great tour! We almost didn’t get to see the rays but then our guides Kekoa, Greg, and Layla let us stay out longer and jump back in to see them. They made it amazing!
Great experience, friendly and knowledgeable, this adventure really made our trip to Kona memorable. Loved it.
Awesome trip, got to see lots of mantas, including Big Bertha, a real treat, great boat team, Deavon was great
Deavon did a fabulous job getting us prepared for the water, and the whole crew of guys from the captain, to the lifeguard, to the guide were amazing! They did a great job at making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable, their instructions were clear, and they had such a positive energy the whole way. The boat ride was super short and smooth, so we had a lot of time in the water. What a once in a lifetime opprotunity!! We saw 5+ rays dancing together underneath the light, some came so close, they could touch you! We saw all sorts of fish and even spinner dolphins, but most notably Big Bertha; the largest manta on these shores. It was absolutely breathtaking, I want to go back already.
The experience is amazing, the mantas get right up under you and they are huge. Deavon was the best instructor. Clear instructions and knew a lot of about the mantas.
Amazing crew and they pretty straight forward on the rules! we had a great time seeing the manta ray in the ocean! Deavon was great and exceptional Crew! Highly recommend to our friends and family
Amazing manta ray night snorkeling experience! Deavon was our host and communication was great, with advance notice before we headed to the meeting area. We saw 3–4 manta rays swim just inches away from us. It was incredible to see these gentle giants up close! The crew was friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and Greg did a great job educating us and answering our questions, making the experience truly unforgettable. Definitely worth the money! Tip: expect a possible delay in the start time, but they’ll let you know in advance, and definitely bring a waterproof phone case. From meeting time to the boat was about 45 mins. Then we spend 20-30 mins in the water.
This is a one of a kind snorkel tour. Seeing these beautiful ocean beauties at night is phenomenal. Captain Roray was excellent with the guests going above and beyond.
I had a hiccup first night when there was confusion at the boats. JC and Deavon were super chill about it, helped me reschedule and got me out the next night with Captain Rory and our tour guide Greg! Super friendly company with really great people. I had a phenomenal experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone for the service alone, yet the experience was amazing! MantaRia and her friends were out feeding and got super close! I was able to purchase a waterproof phone case from them as well to capture the night and will have so many great memories to share! I was so bummed the first night, but the friendly staff really put me at ease and made it one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on vacation. Definitely come see these guys (and gals) for a great night Manta ray experience!
The whole experience was great! The crew was very fun and the fun facts were great. They definitely knew how to keep us entertained and were funny. Deavon helped me get my life vest and was very pleasant with check in. The whole tour was 1.5hr but most of the time was spent with check in and getting the crew ready to go out, as well as driving to the spot. Otherwise, definitely would recommend! It’s a bucket list activity for sure.
AMAZING experience! Was a little nervous about going out at night but Deavon and the crew did a great job reassuring us how safe we were. We saw. The manta ray many times each and other fish. The crew was very knowledgeable about the manta rays and the other wildlife and answered all of our questions. We highly recommend this when visiting Kona.
went with the dream team it was incredible🤙🤙
The entire experience was top notch. Deavon checked us in and provided everything we needed. The captain and crew were professional, knowledgeable, and made the experience fun! I highly recommend this company!
Went on the Manta Ray night snorkel tour and it was AMAZING!! The crew Cody Rory Deavon and Khalayla were great! Excellent communicators with personalities. Cody was excellent with us in the water and they all had a great sense of humor. Felt safe and it was soooo beautiful and exciting! Gorgeous animals and so grateful ☺️ Thank you ☺️ This is a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life! Rent a GoPro!
Great night thanks to the Dream Team (Dave, Leo, Cody and Deavon). We went with our parents who are getting up there in age. The team made them feel safe and comfortable. Go see the mantas with this team. Second time with them and can’t say enough good things.
David, Deavon, Leo and the 4th (dark hair beard and glasses sorry) all amazing. We did 2 tours with this company and couldn't have been more pleased. The weather was an issue but they made sure to rebook as many times as needed to ensure we had the experience we wanted. The Mantas exceeded our expectations. This group knows what it's all about. Thank you!
This is truly an experience of a lifetime, something I believe everyone should experience while in Hawaii! We saw so many Manta rays, I lost count! Deavon was a great communicator when we had to be rescheduled due to weather and made it easy and seamless. The crew ensures your safety and tells you everything you need to know or expect while in the water! This is a must do, and this company is a great one to do it through!
Highlight of our trip… Deavon, Jake, Capt Dave and crew were awesome. Knowledgeable and helpful and took our safety seriously. 2 nights rescheduled because of weather but worth the patience and third time was the charm. Saw so many Mantas… very cool!!!! Highly recommend this for your trip.
Deavon was great along with the guides. Super helpful and informative. Literally got probably an inch away from the mantas 1/1 experience.
It didn't live up to the hype. Only two Manta Rays. Over priced for the experience.
Overall a very cool experience. Seeing the manta rays was amazing!! Kids loved it. The communication from the company was a little off putting. A bit pushy. You have to pay for wet suits and any extra gear which wasn’t evident when booking. Also got very nauseous and vomited. I’d still do again but probably with a different company, and take anti nausea meds before.
We were so pleased with this tour!! My son wasn’t really excited at first because it was at night in the open water, but there was nothing to be afraid of! Devon was super cool and gave us the intro on what to expect and gave us our gear. Gregg was the guide who went into the water with us, we saw SO many manta rays…we were really vibing with them! We stayed in the water for about a half and hour and then back on the boat. All told the whole trip was a little over an hour and well worth the price!
Great experience snorkeling with the Manta Rays. Incredible to the Manta Rays swim so close to us.
Very nice staff, thus the two stars. But there is a devil in the details you need to know about. Do yourself a favor and skip booking any of these manta ray snorkel trips with any provider if it starts before about 8:30/9pm. I might even recommend not using a company that offers early times. Here is why: We went at 6:30pm for the sunset tour. Everyone asked us if we were excited to see the manta rays. They pumped it up big time. We went out full of hope, only to be severely disappointed. No manta rays appeared. However, and I stress, that isn’t the bad part and is not the reason for my low review. Of course no one can control nature. They remind you of this about a hundred times.. The disappointing part was the conversation we overheard after between staff of multiple dive companies. The comment was “I don’t know why our companies offer these early times when they know we never see mantas till much later at night.” At which all the staff agreed. I won’t say which company said it but it is clear they are just running these early dives to collect as much cash as possible. Yes, they do offer to rebook you. And the staff clearly hinted that we should rebook for a much later time if we wanted to have a shot at seeing anything. The trick of course is that few people can rebook due to schedules already being full. So, yes, they can’t control nature but they know full well that those early times are going to be a bust but they keep running them anyway to fill the coffers. And yes, I already know the response I will get from the company. No need to try to convince me how I should have rebooked, etc. The worst part- I feel bad for the staff who tried their hardest to make something happen.
This was by far the coolest thing we have ever done. Absolutely amazing! The crew was fun and we had a great time.
We saw one manta. Two more showed up as we were getting out of the water but the guide wouldn’t allow us to look for an extra minute to see them. He kept telling people they had to get out of the water and back in boat. After paying so much and waiting to see manta rays. Guide was so happy when one showed up right at end to not have to bring us back out. 30 minute trip. Whole family disappointed. NOTHING like we have seen advertised. Not worth our money.
The 6:30 trip is not recommended. Other ships saw manta, but our ship didn't see it. We could only hear that others saw it. Manta didn't come near our ship.
Really good! Good for families and kids with the instructors really knowledgeable and friendly. Safe and fun
Only spent 25 minutes in water, and saw only one small Manta Ray swam by far away for several seconds. I can see much better in an aquarium without all the hazzle, time and cost. Not allow to wear sandals or swim shoes on the boat so as not to scratch the deck. The lack of rays maybe due to the fact that we had the 6:30 pm tour which is still too bright in the sky. If so, the vendor should not arrange such an early time to maximize their income.
Too much $$$ for the poor service
The experience was fastastic and breathtaking. To see the manta rays in their natural environment, feeding on the plankton was otherworldly. Thanks to the entire crew who were fun and professional. Loved Deavin’s dry sense of humor!
Awesome experience, the guide, the captain, the lifeguard and the host were all great and made for a fast check in process to getting into the water. We saw a lot of action! Even if there was no action, just the experience of boating and getting into the ocean in the dark with all kinds of little fish was incredible all on its own! Highly recommend. No fluff , all game with these guys! Love it
Our family had a great time on this tour. Deavon was great at checking us in and then Kalia, Rory, and Greg were helpful and insightful on the boat. Manta rays glided and rotated right by us. Amazing experience. Quick boat ride to the viewing spot and quick return trip.
Mantas were the highlight of this experience, unfortunately, your company was not! Extra charge for rental of wetsuits is insane when other companies include in the price. If suits aren’t included in price, that should be up front and not communicated the day of, asking for a reservation text with no communication back. The instruction on where to go and wait for the boat lacked specifics. Instead, you had a large group of guests waiting at the dock and wondering which zodiac was ours. The fact that you make your guests remove shoes on a busy dock and walk to the boat is concerning. Other companies take the tub to the side of the boat and allow guests to deposit shoes before embarking. Captain and crew were mostly friendly, however, upon entering the water, my boyfriend (a trained diver) lost his snorkel and dove down to get it. Unfortunately, he was unable to retrieve it and had to return to the boat to get another one while everyone else prepared for the mantas. Needless to say, he was behind trying to get his gear back on and was trying to catch up placing the floatation device around his ankles when your female staff member swam over to us on the end and rudely said to him “ why aren’t your feet in the floatation?” I know it’s hard to watch a large group of people in the water but next time your staff should ask guests is everyone ok and are we ready? Please, don’t assume a person is not following rules when, in fact, they are struggling with gear. Personally, I have gone with a few other companies before and they are far more organized but wanted to try yours… now we know. I think your company is small with lots of room for growth.
Great this was my first experience snorkelling and getting close with mantas next time my kids to enjoy this fabulous experience and share with friends
Devon was exceptional. The entire crew was kind, energetic, and made our family of 12 feel incredibly welcome and well cared for. Seeing these massive manta rays glide within inches of us was absolutely unforgettable. It was an incredible experience and truly one of the highlights of our trip. This is a must-do excursion, and with Devon and this amazing team, you’re in great hands. We highly recommend them and would absolutely do it again!
INCREDIBLE, magical experience!!!! From the enthusiastic check-in guide (Deavon) to the boat captain (Rory), the safety officer (Kalela), and the in-water guide (Greg), every person we encountered was kind, knowledgable, and welcoming. The rays (whom the guides all knew by name) were mesmerizing and really put on a show, swimming right up to us to swoop and feed. It was clearly a well-run tour and incredibly safe. Just make sure you know how to swim and are comfortable being in the water before you book!
Had the best time and our guides were great! Shout outs to Deavon, Khalayla, Rory, and Greg for their professionalism, patience, and fun! This was an experience my husband and I won’t forget…awesome!
It was amazing trip with a great crew who made you laugh and feel comfortable
Great people work here. I took my 8 and 6 year olds little kiddos for a sunset manta ray tour and they had everything needed for my little kiddos (small masks, wet suits, vests) and were worth kind and attentive. The crew Kalaila the mermaid (I hope I spelled her name correctly), Deavon, Greg, and Rory were all awesome! Thank you for a fun trip!
Great and safe night snorkel with mantas. A highlight of our trip. Team was organized and safe, and also explained how to keep the mantas safe. Loved it thanks!
We booked this tour last minute and it was the best decision ever. Our tour host was Deavon and all the communication was very clear and the tour was very well operated. The experience itself is breathtaking and a must do if you are in Kona. Our Captain was Danielle and she made sure we are very comfortable for the ride. I am forgetting our guide and first mate's name but they were great as well. Thanks for helping us create a core memory.
