Wonderful time. Guides were terrific. Always safe and always fun. This was a fun way to be in the jungle, learn about Hawaiian history and culture and have a bit of a thrill.

Great time! Worth the money and time. Great way to have an "adventure" and see beautiful countryside. The guides, Decker and Dane, were excellent! Felt very safe. Learned about local land and things important to Hawaii. Lots of laughter. Highly recommend!
What a fun experience! The bridges were scarier for me than the zip lines. It was made even better by the great crew. Willy was awesome on the drive and during the entire experience and Decker was also cool on the zip lines.
Very knowledge and friendly guides, perfect adventure for everyone! From zipline to lunch to the waterfall, it was a great day!
Well organized, the guides were very friendly and we had a wonderful time. If in Hawaii, definitely something you should do.
This was such a fun and memorable experience ! We were picked up by our guide Dane promptly and driven with one other couple, to Hawi, to begin the biplane tour. The instructions and safety briefing were clear and timely. Then we were off to a private spot in the forest to biplane. There was a perfect mix of suspension bridges and zip lines to make this tour smooth and interesting. Bobo took excellent pictures. To be offered all the pics taken by him at the incredible price of $20 was a shock! Then when we ere done zip lining we were driven to a secluded privately owned land area to have lunch overlooking a valley and breathtaking cliff drop off. We were served delicious and fresh lunch, I had a salad topped with meat of my choice, as we were able to order ahead. This was the gluten free option. After lunch and we were driven down to a waterfall on this private land. This was so special. We swam, got under the falls, and hung out with Dane who was so kind and forthcoming with history of Hawaii. After this we were driven back to the store in Hawi and we had 20 minutes to walk around, get ice cream and shop. Then we were driven back to our accomodation in Mauna Lani. This was THE PERFECT DAY!! Started at 7:40am and dropped off by 3:30pm . I HIGHLY recommend this tour. You get so much for the price. And the operator is genuine and really does care about their tourists and their land.
Great way to spend half a day in a beautiful place! Our guides, Derrick and Noui were awesome, had a blast zip lining and swimming!!
Dane was an excellent guide! I wish I could remember the other man's name, but they were safety minded first, then let's have a blast, which I appreciated. I loved picking guava off the tree and just eating it on the way to the lagoon. Lunch was delicious and the view was incomparable. This was truly a treat.
This was a fantastic day; well spent, in Hawaii. Wilson...our all-day guide... was fun; empathetic, knowledgable; and efficient. Plus...a great photographer. He pointed out birds, exotic plants; and more. He was on a first name basis with everyone. Zipline was fantastic. The waterfall pool was great fun. Lunch was epic with the cliffs as backdrop. Also, Jake, our main zip guide was the best. I have zipped in Alaska; Costa Rica; Mexico; the Virgin Islands; and more. I've never had such a personable; fun; and safety minded guide. This is the tour to take.
Impressed by all of the effort to keep this a safe experience for the family. Beautiful Kohala was showcased by all of the places we visited on the tour. Recommend.
This was an amazing experience. One of the best ziplines we've done. Wilson was our driver and very knowledgeable about the area, the volcanoes, and the plant and marine life. Nick and Brogan were great as well.
Excellent adventure on the Zip and Dip!! Erik and Brogan were the best guides and made our day so much fun!! Safety was obviously a top priority for them but Erik and Brogan were also engaging and fun and provided lots of interesting facts and history about Hawaii. The variety of sky bridges and zip lines were great - could have spent the whole day doing these in amongst the lush trees and plants of the forest. The hike to the waterfalls after lunch was a lot of fun. The view from our lunch spot was breathtaking as well!
Kane and crew are true professionals, and made this adventure one to remember! Driving rain and wind shut the zipline down after 2 of the 8 lines, which was disappointing but the smart decision. In my previous career I inspected ziplines, so I am hyper-aware of safety precautions - and I was VERY impressed with this company's commitment to doing everything by the book. The guides seem to have eyes on the back of their head and when a customer did something even slightly questionable, we were quickly reminded how to comply with the safety standards. The dip into a waterfall pool would be delightful in warm weather. I highly recommend Hawaii Forest & Trail and their tours.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our day ziplining and swimming under the waterfall. Our guides Decker and Curtis were so knowledgeable about the whole area, and gave us an excellent information about the history of the area, and the plant life we saw. They were also very safety conscious! We enjoyed the fact that safety was the #1 priority for everyone in the group! Decker and Curtis also communicated well and did so with a great sense of humor. The spot we stopped for lunch was worth the price of admission alone! And our lunch was more than adequate with delicious sandwiches, cookie and drinks provided. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting the Bug Island! My husband and I are 65 and 58 and we managed the day well. Thank you to our guides and this beautiful island for a day we will never forget!
Such an incredible time. Weather was perfect, trees were swaying, and we were zipping. Felt extremely safe the whole time. Dane was an incredible guide, very knowledgeable and helpful. They took pictures throughout and didn’t charge us an arm and a leg to buy them :). My mother in law (age 73) even did this despite being scared of heights and thanked us afterwards for convincing her to go and said she would do it again. The view at lunch was amazing and the waterfalls was incredible and refreshing :). Note the roads are bumpy so plan accordingly if you get nauseous in cars.
This was so much fun! Our kids push us (a little) to keep doing adventures and this was definitely an adventure, Decker & Eli were great guides and all about keeping us safe. I don't have a lot of upper body strength and Decker taught me a way to slow down coming in to the platform. The zips were exhilarating & the bridges scary but safe. We also repelled down to the ground. The view for our picnic was beautiful and swimming under the waterfalls was so fun. This company definitely has it all together!
So much fun! Decker was our guide for the day. My parents are older and slower but Decker was great w them and very patient. our family of 7 had a great time! We had the best view I’ve ever had in my life for our picnic lunch. The zip lines were a blast and we had the waterfalls all to ourselves when we arrived. thank you, Decker for a great day!
Wow. I do not even know where to begin. Dane, you are amazing!!!! Jake, you are amazing!!! My sister and I had the best time and made the best memories. Eight zips and the waterfalls were outstanding. Trying new fruit and pepper for me was something I will never forget either. This is the best tour. We definitely felt like o’hana.
This was a great zip line experience. Best one that I have done so far. Dane was our primary guide and we recommend you spending the day with him.
I don’t even know where to start. This experience was incredible!!! It was our first time ever zip lining and to say we were nervous would be an understatement!! However our guide Dane and his assistant Sean were fabulous. They were encouraging, funny, kind, and patient. By the end of the zips we were sad to be done. Here’s the deal though this wasn’t just zip lining this was an all day adventure. You’re 100 - 200 feet above the ground pretty much the entire zips, there’s bridges, and repelling. That’s not all. Dane is local, and so incredibly knowledgeable about the island, its history, culture, agriculture, wildlife. He shared every bit of his knowledge and was so engaging. Once the zip line part of the adventure was over we were taken to the most breathtaking area and served a great deli lunch, got some time to rest, and take in the views. Last but certainly not least a small hike down to 3 stunning waterfalls, one of which we were invited to swim in. Bucket list for me! Before the hike down Dane led us in a traditional Hawaiian what I’d call a prayer asking permission to enter the falls. It was beautiful and gave me chills. I cannot recommend this more. If you’re even the slightest bit nervous or tremendously nervous like I was still do it. Never once did I feel unsafe. They take every single safety precautions and are very serious about it. Have fun and Aloha!
Decker was our very friendly and very knowledgeable guide. Safety was number one! The picnic lunch was delicious with a gorgeous view. We loved ending the tour swimming in the waterfall!
The tour was amazing! Adam and Decker were very informative and provided a wonderful experience! Zip lining was so much fun and getting to swim under a waterfall was amazing! The view from the picnic area was spectacular.
We had an amazing time with our two guides Dane and the little potato. The two of them exceeded our expectations and gave us an unforgettable experience to remember. Thank you for everything. We have done this tour 3 years in a row now. Highly recommend it 😃🤙🌺🐢
Our family had an awesome time on the zip and dip. We had such an easy booking and pickup experience - the whole day was planned and ran smoothly. Our guide, Decker, was great fun and knowledgeable about the area and its history. He was also great at showing us details along the trails and journey, like plants and animals. The zips are beautiful - what an experience to be floating in a lush canopy in Hawaii. The bridges are a little nerve-racking, but totally worth it! Kodi was also an amazing host with positive energy and a welcoming spirit. We loved the hospitality - everything was at our fingertips. Lunch and snacks were great. The waterfall was a perfect ending to the tour.
Our guides Nick and Decker were awesome. Decker picked us up from near our hotel and stayed with us throughout the whole tour. The zip lining was fun but getting to hear the history, some plant facts and mythology of the Big Island was such a great bonus. I loved that we got to swim under the waterfall after zipping through the trees! 10/10 recommend.
We did the zip and dip. That day we did the waterfalls first. Nice waterfalls. Easy swimming and there were other groups coming in as we were heading out. This was the second time I ever zipped. Competent staff. Interesting zips. The first bridge is seriously scary. If you don’t get the hang of it the first couple of zips they basically give up on you and you don’t learn how to improve much. Nice area to zip in. Big trees with stream. Lunch location was awesome…really recommend if you have experience zipping. If you are a beginner, I might try somewhere else…. But it’s a good time!
Dane, our driver/guide picked the newlyweds and me up timely in Kailua-Kona, starting his informative and entertaining patter as we headed north. One stop to collect a family of six, and we continued the comfortable ride to Kohala. At the upland office we were expertly fitted out with helmets and harnesses, gloves and had a rest stop break. Off into the hills, the rough dirt road had ruts and mud, but this all enhanced the experience. As we alighted to start our arboreal travels, we met Jacob who would "catch" us as we zipped longer and longer runs between the trees. Several rope bridges (which triggered my fear of heights) proved that they can be mastered, and also gave the teenagers a chance to test their parents. With a short rappelling at the terminus, we left our safety gear and boarded the vehicle. Back to the road, we wove through small towns until a turn makai (towards the ocean) for a picnic lunch with a splendid view of the northern cliffs lining the coast. A bit further along the coast, we turned into the private preserve of Hawaiian royalty to bounce our way to the path taking us to the overlook and, subsequently, the base of the upper (of two) waterfalls. The younger folks friskily played in and walked under the falls. Boarding the vehicle again, Dane returned to the upland office where we viewed the pictures Zane and Jacob had captured, before we headed back to our respective rendezvous points. A full exciting adventure with a most informative guide, I'd recommend this outfit without hesitation. Great people, highly professional, friendly and knowledgeable.
Curtis was amazing. He took very good care of us since we never ziplined before. The experience was awesome and we used our gopro for lots of viedos. We would highly recommend this tour to everyone who comes to the big island. The waterfalls were great and to be able to swim under them was breathe taking. Great job to our guides Curtis and Ryan.
Swimming in the waterfalls. Also, our guide Dane was incredible! It's great having a native to guide us who really knows and understands the culture.
Awesome tour with cool guides and a lot of fun. It was definitely worth it. The adrenaline is kicking when you stroll down the zippline.
Decker and Eli were awesome guides! We always felt safe, and they were both very knowledgeable and friendly. We would be more than happy to recommend them to anyone we know!
We did the 8-hour "Zip & Dip" tour and loved every minute. A practically otherworldly experience as we crossed exciting Indiana-Jones-style suspension bridges through the stunning forest canopy to move from one long zipline to the next. Gorgeous, thrilling, and informative, and capped by a dip in a postcard waterfall in an idyllic glen. Our guides Dane and Jake were fantastic: patient, knowledgeable, and funny. They were careful and thorough with safety procedures... in fact, the whole setup, while genuinely exciting, is absolutely uncompromising regarding safety, with triply-redundant harness and suspension systems. Your heart may race but you are absolutely NOT going to fall. A thoroughly enjoyable experience from beginning to end. A little pricey to be sure, but very highly recommended.
Such a fun day with great guides! We enjoyed sampling local fruits and learning about the plants and wildlife on our hike. Always felt safe on the zip lines and bridges, get the picture package and no camera needed while zipping but bring along to take pics in the waterfalls and hike. Jump in the waterfalls for a swim - it’s cold but you won’t regret it and warm up on the hike. Everyone enjoyed the simple lunch. Dane was excellent!
My sister and I had fun, the tour guy was friendly and was amazing. Definitely going back and doing it again next time.
Too much fun! Guides, Dane and Brogan, were terrific. I would do it all over again. Couldn’t have ask for a better time.
The entire adventure was great: well-paced, with lots of added info from the guides about Hawaiian history, mythology, plants an animals. My 9-year-old says: it was really fun; the really long ziplines are fun if you remember you won’t fall! The waterfall pool was a little cold, but easy to get used to if you just get in.
The zip lines were great! The views were amazing. We loved the picnic spot overlooking the north shore. We loved swimming in the waterfalls. The guides were both amazing and patient with our girls. Dane and Curtis were both entertaining and informative. One of the highlights of our vacation.
When I tell you this is amazing, it really is! My friend and I had so much fun with the tour guides and the people in our group, it’s definitely something we will always remember. Decker, Tammi and Boo Boo were our tour guides and they are so lovely and hilarious XD The waterfalls and the views are stunning, especially learning history of the island will always be so much fun! DEFINITELY ADD THIS TO YOUR TRIP!! Thank you so much Kohala Zip-line for the experience!!
This was a true ALL day adventure. We had been looking forward to it since we booked it. A bit early and a bit pricey but totally worth it! The van (not Jeep as pictured on website) was very comfortable, clean and air conditioned and able to off road just as well as a Jeep. Dane and Kurtis were our guides. They were the BEST! Both were informative, professional, fun and awesome! Interesting stories and facts were shared along the way. We felt very safe throughout the whole adventure. They always checked to see how we were and looked out for us. The zip line experience was amazing. We had lunch at a beautiful ocean overlook. The waterfall was probably my most favorite even though every bit of the adventure was great. The only thing is that the pictures were not the best but that was probably because we were not the best subjects. Maybe to take a few more would have been helpful? It also would have been great to include a group photo. And maybe a short video for each going along the zip line might be a fun thing to include. Another suggestion might be nice to include a water bottle or t shirt or something with zip and dip logo as a momento. I know they did have t shirts available for sale in the gift store. We had a great time and definitely recommend to all! Mahalo!
This experience was a blast. It was our first zipline but it won't be our last. Dane, our guide, was great at making us feel safe and confident that we could do it. He was very knowledgeable. The sights were breathtaking. We got to go places we would not have been able to see without the tour. I highly recommend the zip and dip tour if you want to get out of your comfort zone in a safe way and see some of the beauty Hawaii has to offer.
We had an wonderful day zip lining and going to swim at the waterfalls. Decker and Eli were great hosts and we enjoyed spending the day with them. We’ve been to the island many times and this was by far our favorite adventure.
I am 74 years old and took my grandson and great grandson. We all had a blast. The staff was very knowledgeable and super friendly. We learned a lot about the fruits, culture, different landscapes and just had an all around great time. They assisted this Gigi when she needed help (which was more than a few times). Thanks Decker and Braxton!
Beyond amazing!!! Best adventure and experience of all!! Decker and Braxton were phenomenal at every aspect of their jobs!! They mags it fun, save and a memory of a lifetime! The zip lines were a blast and the private waterfall was 2nd to none! Even the spot lunch was provided was gorgeous! Would highly recommend a must do to anyone coming to the island! Mahalo you guys!!!
Dane was an amazing guide! His local knowledge was superb and he went above and beyond to make sure everyone was well attended to. The shuttle vans were super clean and comfortable and the food was great. But the BEST part was the adventure- the zip through rainforest with Dane and Sharkey was fantastic and the dip was magical.
The zip and dip tour was very well planned an organized. Decker was our guide and it was easy to see that he put a lot of thought into ensuring that the guest have the best experience.
This is a must do on your Big Island adventure. The staff is incredible and really went out of their way to make our group feel special. Our guide Dane is a local who was so helpful and took really good care of everyone in our group. One of the highlights of our vacation.
Very well organized. Decker was fun and kept us safe. He told us a lot of information about life on the Big Island, the animals and plants. Great views and fun activities. Highly recommend
We had a great day!!! Dane was a pleasure to be with. He made the day very enjoyable and fun. As a local he was sharing his personal touch with us. Brenna was a great addition to the day. They are very safety conscious! Highly recommend this experience. The falls were a nice touch at the end.
This tour was a highlight of our trip. Decker was so much fun !! He has so much knowledge about any & every topic - zip lining, nature, Hawaii, and random trivia. He and Faith were so energetic and fun through the zip line portion. They made everyone feel safe while encouraging the wild & crazy. The waterfalls were totally beautiful and great to swim in. One note-watershoes would be helpful and you won't have to carry them across ziplines. The tour gave us a true Hawai'i feel in one great day. I can't recommend it strongly enough. It was awesome!
Absolutely wonderful experience, 10/10, I'd reccommend them to anyone. Great staff and gorgeous views.
