The phone number they have listed doesn’t answer the phone, so be prepared if you have questions to not rely on that number. Don’t go if the rain is coming down hard, save yourself the 4 hours round trip drive if you are staying on Kona side of the island. They were sold out of rain gear and didn’t let us get a refund even though the guide himself said the puddles/holes may be really bad. A mist or light rain might be fine, and even then be careful on the road to get to the parking lot, it needs good tires and there’s no clear signage for the business.

Bring a ball cap so you can wear it under the helmet and bug spray. You will be getting dirty so dress accordingly.
This atv tour was absolutely the best we’ve ever done…not a lame manicured trail, but muddy, messy and pretty challenging. Our tour guide was awesome and along the way, taught us history and local customs. Top notch
Jacquline was a great guide. I have mobility issues so she drove me around instead of having to walk. What a sweetheart. The UTVing was really rough for me but my husband loved it.
Great ATV ride! Had 3 ATV's and 1 UTV. Our guide (Keoni?) was great! He gave us the history on traditional communal cooking, the plants, and food. Great ride through winding, muddy trails! Everyone in the ride had fun! If you like muddy trails, big splashes and fast, strong ATV's that can handle deep puddles and water, this is the ride for you. We went in October and it was Awesome! Great fun for all! I definitely recommend this ride and we would absolutely do this again!!!
My husband and I each drove our own ATV. We have no ATV experience. It was way to learn and we had a blast! We learned a little about Hawaiian culture and got to taste delicious guava and berries. It was raining which made it even more fun!
Guide was great. Quads are in good condition and easy to drive but are manual. It is a slow paced track that is Rocky, curvy and lot of puddles (they issue rubber boots👢). They stop along the route and show you fauna, fruits, fire pits, etc... The only issue we had, is getting there! While the instructions were good, the road after the gate is poor and our uber driver was not happy having the bottom of his Camry kissing the rocks. I ended up giving him a $20 tip on a $35 fare for not refusing to take us all the way. The guide gave us ride back to the gate in a ATV, which was much appreciated by us and our uber driver.
We five had a great time with our guides and enjoyed their traditional stories that educated the group on Hawaiian culture. The ATVs were so fun and the puddles made it that more enjoyable.
Fun road to do RTV on. The worker was very nice and believed in us driving RTV solo. Felt like a fun motorcycle gang outing.
The trail was educational, hands on hand trial of local fruit, wild baby pigs seen, muddy and fun, however the time was cut short approximately 40minutes. Paid for 2 hrs and only got 1hr and 20 minutes.
Great experience! The ranch was easy to find from the Hilo side. You enter through a secure gate and have to drive a bit down a volcanic dirt road before you reach the check in location. The day was a little drizzly so we brought jackets but they really weren’t needed. We drove the 2 person side by side due to recent rains and had so much fun going down the muddy trails. Pono was very gracious and provided great guidance, showing us Taro plants, different species of Guava and wild raspberries along the trails. We even observed some wild pigs and cattle along the paths. This experience was more than we expected and we had such a great time. We will certainly come back. Thank you again Pono.
This excursion was such an adventurous experience. I would definitely recommend this outing. The only thing I would do differently is scheduling a ride back to town before going on the excursion. The ranch is way up in the countryside. If we had not friended a couple with a rental car, I don’t know how we would have returned back to town.
This was the best adventure!! Pono and Kioki were awesome guides!! Highly recommend for a great time. Aloha!!
Our guides Bobbie and Keoki were fun, entertaining and informative. We had a great time and would do it again.
So incredibly fun. We had an amazing time even in the down pouring rain! Although we weren’t able to do certain things because of the mud and rain our guide, Bobby, was able to make our experience just as fun and rewarding. Absolutely worth the money!
It was great fun riding through the mud.
We had such an amazing time on the Ohana Ranch UTV excursion! My husband and I had so much fun exploring the ranch and taking in the beautiful scenery. Kalani was an incredible tour guide…friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience so much more special. We especially loved learning about Hawaiian culture, traditions, and the history of the land. It felt like so much more than just a UTV ride…it was a really meaningful and memorable experience. We had an absolute blast and would definitely recommend Ohana Ranch to anyone visiting Hawaii! Mahalo, Kalani, for making our day so unforgettable!
Kalani was an awesome tour guide. He was super friendly and knowledgeable about Hawaiian culture and he shared a lot of stores with us. We also got to try two types of guavas and some berries right off the trees and bushes. They were amazing. We saw cows, goats, and wild pigs as well. We had a great ride! I recommend booking the later tour. We were in the 3pm and were the only two people so we got a lot of personalized attention. The tour before us had 16. This was a very fun experience and I definitely recommend it to everyone. You will have a great time getting dirty!
SO. MUCH. FUN! Off road driving is serious and muddy when wet...maybe veteran riders may want a higher-speed experience but the driving and sights and the sounds and wilderness and Pono's funny stories were great!
The road leading to the farm was very difficult to navigate and made the trip to the parking lot a bit uncomfortable. Recommendation : pave the road or have someone bring you to the parking lot with a car made for that type or terrain. But in all a great experience!!!
Rachel and her partner did great! Its my first time riding an ATV and they are really supportive and encouraging. Highly recommended! Aside from the thrilling ride they also give valuable tour of the ranch including Hawaiian history and traditions.
It was the first time my daughter was old enough to ride an atv by herself. At first she struggled, but they put her up at the front and coached her through the first leg of the trip in first gear. By the end she was speeding along like a pro. It was such an awesome time using the atvs, learning about the culture, some of the plants, and even tasting some of the guavas and the native berries that they grow there. You could tell that our guides were genuine, really cared about the land, and made sure everyone that was on the ride was comfortable. It was the highlight of of our trip and I would highly reccommend taking a trip to Ohana Ranch. Just make sure you use their boots, you will get muddy.
Just loved the authenticity of the guide! He gave us a great tour as well as the history of the traditions
Pono and bishop were amazing tour guides, we learned a ton about the island and how things were traditionally done. They were very funny and entertaining while telling us the history. If you have the chance I would definitely recommend going!
It was good for the price. I would have liked to have seen more but in 1 hour 20 minutes there is just not enough time. The two guides were friendly and sociable.
So much fun! Camlanai and kal were a blast to be around. Fun time to get off the beach for a minute and see the mountains
Bring a change of clothes, shoes, towel just in case! We had an absolute blast! Long rides, loved the cultural info and timing all around. Pono and Bishop are elite brah
The best ATV riding experience ever! From the educational information we received during the tour to riding through the mud and rain! You don’t want to miss this!!!
We were staying in Mountain View so it was an easy 15min drive to the ranch. Received a courtesy call to confirm attendance. Easy check in at the site, bathroom available prior to trip starting. Helmets are mandatory and provided, boots are also available for free so no real need to buy shoes prior. Dress comfortably, I wore tee shirt, pants (with zip off legs, which I did after the ride as they were soaking from the rain) and the provided boots. Took a while to get going due to organizing everyone. There were families, couples, singles and a well delivered safety talk before starting the ATV's. The first leg is on a REALLY uneven surface so its 1st gear all the way. We stopped at a traditional Polynesian garden where crops are growing. After that it was 2nd gear and much easier ATV style driving. Deep water pools, mud, twists and turns. We saw the local herd of cows, wild pigs and the 'pet pig' who conveniently met us at the parking lot as we left looking for some nourishment. Overall, lived up to expectations and would recommend it.
ATV tour around farm, driving up and down hills and through lots of muddy pools. Rachel and Cosmos were the best guides!
This experience is good for beginners, I expected to be able to go out on an ATV not necessarily follow the leader at 5mph.
This is a great fun and informative experience would highly recommend the guides are great. Beautiful
The location was a bit of a drive but found without a problem. We were given lots of details on how to drive the vehicle. The guides were great with info on the forest and fun history stories to share
You will get dirty if a rainy day.. super fun. They provide you with boots so u do not have to ruin your shoes.
Pono and Cosmos were the best. Super informative tour plus got to chase pigs around.
Don’t be intimidated by the weather or driving the ATVS ,there easy to operate ,they have you drive a block or so to see if your comfortable operating it ,yes it’s going to rain ,they sell ponchos there for $4.00 ,this was one of the best parts of our trip ,it rained and your driving thru large muddy trenches ,and none of my family got any mud on them at all (they supply boots ) the guide is super informative about Hawaiian history ,he stops at different times to tell you the history ,i would highly recommend this trip ,6/24/2026
We took the Ohana Ranch ATV tour and it was an incredibly beautiful and immersive experience! Pono was our guide and he was so funny and informative. We especially enjoyed the conversations and stops along the way. The young lady that checked us in (didn’t get her name) was very helpful and friendly. We all had a blast! Definitely check this place out while on the big island.
Tour guides were super informative and kind! Got to eat some fruit along the way and learn about Hawaii’s culture
The experience wish I was longer time and GOd bless kama ala he wS very knowledgeable and beautiful to know how to cook a cook a pig and special events
Definitely wear glasses to protect your eyes from the dust. Fun staff with fun knowledge of the island.
I had the absolute best time and learned so much. It made me appreciate the culture so much. Hannah & Keoki were great and taught us so much. I’d do it again.
Very professional operation with friendly guides. We had fun here with two teenagers.
Good ATV experience with learning ecological history along the way. Wear the provided rubber boots the trial is muddy.
Our experience at Ohana Ranch was absolutely incredible! Rachel and Kalani were so welcoming, patient, and knowledgeable. They took the time to share their love for the land and made us feel like part of the Ohana from the moment we arrived. This was my first time ever riding an ATV, and they made the experience fun, comfortable, and unforgettable. The scenery was beautiful, the ride was exciting, and the hospitality was second to none. I would definitely come back and ride with Rachel and Kalani again. If you’re looking for an authentic, fun, and memorable adventure on the Big Island, I highly recommend Ohana Ranch! 🌟 Mahalo for an amazing experience! 🌟
It was a lovely time and the employees were very nice. This was the second time we did a ATV tour in Hawaii, our first was in Oahu at that ranch and it was hard to be objective at this one because the views can't be matched. It had a great learning experience though and the guides were very knowledgeable. The only thing I would mentioned as the ATV go very slow so that's a bit of a bummer.
This experience was amazing. Check in was easy. They have boots and helmets for you to wear. The safety instructions were clear and concise. Rachel and Bobby were our guides and they were amazing. We learned so many things about the farm, as well as, Hawai’i’s native plants, animals and history. We saw cows, horses and wild pigs. The property is beautiful and their conservation efforts to preserve, protect and cultivate the native species is wonderful. Definitely an experience we all enjoyed as a family. Would highly recommend.
It was a bit of work wrangling the ATV around turns but otherwise easy to learn! Loved all the mud, cows and wildlife.
Nice slow pace tour. Informative info on tour as well. The guides were great. Would do it again. A must do when on that side of the island.
More adventurous than expected. The farm is in the rain forest. So the course is muddy and fun. They give you boots so your shoes don’t get ruined. Hannah is full of information about the farm and forest. The fruit tasting for us was a raspberry. The facilities are very simple. Everyone liked this tour a lot and would do it again.
The guides and staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming. Safety is a priority. We learned many interesting things about the ranch, the island itself and culture of Hawaiian people. Thank you all for sharing, Mahalo.
