This was an expensive excursion. We had to pay more than the listed fee due to an increase in airfare. In addition, we did not have enough time to visit the entire Pearl Harbor park before we had to meet our guide for the Honolulu tour. Pearl Harbor itself was interesting and we wish we could have finished enjoying it. The tour of Honolulu and Waikiki was about an hour. We saw maybe 4 sites. We only got off the bus once for about 10 minutes. It was very underwhelming. We would have liked to have taken that hour to stay at Pearl Harbor. I recommend just doing Pearl Harbor on your own and not going through this company.

Itinerary
At the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center you can explore various exhibits that provide historical context about the events leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. View a 23-minute documentary film that provides an overview of the attack, its impact, and the significance of the USS Arizona Memorial. After the introductory exhibits and film you will board a U.S. Navy-operated boat for a short ride to the USS Arizona Memorial. The 10-minute ride across the harbor is calm and offers views of the surrounding military installations
The USS Arizona Memorial is a white, open-air structure that spans the remains of the sunken battleship. It's a solemn and quiet place, designed to allow visitors to reflect on the sacrifices made by the sailors and Marines who were lost during the attack. Viewing the Wreckage: Inside the memorial you can look down into the water to see parts of the sunken battleship. The ship's outline is visible just below the surface, and oil droplets, often referred to as "The Tears of the Arizona," can still be seen rising to the surface. Remembrance Wall: At the far end of the memorial is a wall inscribed with the names of the 1,177 crew members who lost their lives aboard the USS Arizona. This wall serves as a powerful reminder of the human cost of war.
On the historic downtown Honolulu portion of the tour, you will experience a blend of Hawaii's rich history, cultural heritage, and modern city life all narrated by our expert guide
National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific sits on top of extinct volcano also known as Punchbowl. The cemetery is the final resting place for thousands of U.S. military members. The beautifully maintained grounds feature rows of white headstones set against lush greenery. The location of Punchbowl Crater offers stunning views of the surrounding city, including downtown Honolulu, Diamond Head, and the coastline
The only royal palace in the United States. You will learn about Hawaii's monarchy, and hear stories about King Kalākaua and Queen Liliʻuokalani, the last reigning monarchs.
From the palace you will view the iconic King Kamehameha Statue, a symbol of Hawaii's unity and strength. The statue is in front of the Aliʻiōlani Hale, the historic building that now houses the Hawaii State Supreme Court.
Our guide will "talk story" of the fascinating history as the original government building of the Hawaiian Kingdom.
Often referred to as the "Westminster Abbey of the Pacific," Kawaiahaʻo Church is one of the oldest Christian places of worship in Hawaii. Our guide will teach you about the church’s significance and its role in Hawaii’s religious history.

Our guide Brian was amazing, he was knowledgeable and helpful and made our experience well worth the visit!
We took a day trip over from Big Island with the Aloha team doing the leg work on planning and driving. Our driver, Jeremiah (Miah), embodied the spirit of aloha with the tour, his driving, and his knowledge of his beautiful paradise.
The memorial was beautiful. Our tour guide did not wait until 7 AM for us at the pickup. He called us at 6:55 am questioning why we were not at the pickup location (which by the way, I received an email saying the pick up time was adjusted to 7:15am) he was questioning because there were two others that were on our airplane. So he was arguing that we should have been there. He left and said he'd be back for us. We arrived at the designated pickup at 6:59, then waited until 7:35 for him to return and pick us up. As I had questioned the tour itinerary (based on the information in my confirmation) the driver was very rude and told me to stop talking and be quiet and instead listen to him. This encounter and unprofessional interaction did not begin our day on a good note.
Summer was amazing for our trip to Pearl Harbor. Very knowledgable about the culture and history of the islands. And she's a beautiful singer. Thanks so much for the tour.
The process was stress free and the tour guide, Summer, is very knowledgeable and helpful. We were happy we used this company!
Summer was an excellent tour guide. Her information on the Peral Habor was very valuable to us and made our visit so much less stressful. She is knowledgeable, professional, and overall very personable. She is a valuable asset to your company. Thank you Summer for a wonderful experience. The Vigil's.
The memorial was worth the trip and we had beautiful views, our guide, Summer, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and great at giving us history of the islands
This trip was so disappointing. We were flying out of Kona. The instructions were that we were departing at 9 am. Not true. We had to fly out at 6 am. The instructions were that the tour company would pick us up at airport between 7-8. Not true. The instructions on where they would be located was so confusing. It took us 30 minutes for find the bus and then we were scolded for being late and it was only 7:30. The tour was supposed to be from 9-1. Not true. We arrived at Pearl Harbor at 8:00 and had to depart at 10:30. We only 2.5 hrs at the harbor. Not enough time. The tour guide, Ariel, was so rude. Would not book this trip with this company. The instructions for everything were wrong and worse, the tour guide was rude.
Our tour guide knew the sites very well. She remembered every person‘s name on the bus and was very informative and knew something about every single state.
Anthony was a phenomenal tour guide and host ! Extremely detailed, prompt and informative would highly recommend booking with Anthony !
Ariel was an awesome guide with unbelievable insight about Pearl Harbor and what exactly happened that dreadful day. He was also very astute about Hawaiian culture and history, even gave us an alphabet pronunciation in the Hawaiian language. Very friendly and outgoing and seemed to know everyone when we got to the sights. A plus rating. Scott and Selene from California
Great tour. Great service. Highly recommend. A comprehensive view of the island departed 7:30am and returned 5:30pm. Driver / tour guy is very friendly and knowledgeable
anthony mendez was a real mvp today specially with the kids we brought to our trip. he is the real deal, super friendly and very talkative in a good way!!! you will have fun 100% guaranteed.
Our driver Anthony was so amazing and friendly. He answered every question we had with joy. The actual harbor was so beautiful and emotional, I had tears in my eyes the whole time. 100% recommend. Very informative.
Our driver Anthony was amazing. Kind, knowledge and helpful. Probably the best driver on our week long trip. Worth every dollar.
Kanoe was the best and very knowledgeable in our tour would definitely recommend and come back. Pearl Harbor was unforgettable
The views were great, the people and tour guides were beyond nice & i overall enjoyed feeling welcome and at home. This was a great experience.
Papa P was the best guide i ever had! He was well prepared with snacks, towels and very helpful. He showed us many spots. The weather was bad and we couldn’t see the turtles but that was out of his hands. All stops were to shop, eat and take many pictures of beautiful views. One stop was the turtles beach, i wish the weather was better. Thanks Papa P for a wonderful day we spent with you and for a great guitar performance ❤️🎶
Our tour guide Leena was super nice and friendly. She explained everything to us, and show us the Honolulu downtown. She also talked about the Hawaiian cultural, and even taught us some words in Hawaiian. It was a very good experience thanks to her!
Johnny was very personable, knowledgeable, and funny. He made the trip worthwhile. He went above and beyond, and I would completely recommend him to any family member, and anyone who is looking for a complete tour with ad-libs. Very enjoyable.
Would never book a tour with this company ! Had this tour booked for over 6 weeks and the day before they changed the pick up time by 3 hours and refused to pick us up from our hotel . We rang to question the changes and the operator was very rude ridiculing us for not booking directly through his company and insisting that the trip be cancelled. Beware.....this company has no concern for it's customers.
Awesome tour & great tour guide. Lena was very informative & fun. Lena is from Hawaii, so knows lots about the island.
Leena was a great tour guide! Recommend 100% She’s a native Hawaiian very knowledgeable and funny! AA++
We had an excellent experience. Learned a lot of history of Hawaii. Thank you Jorge for being our tour guide and narrator of history.
Pearl Harbor was very humbling. What a terrific tour with Leena. She was very knowledgeable and kind! Loved it!
Our tour guide Ariel made the day!! Ariel was the most energic, knowledgeable and entertaining guy we’ve met!! Gorgeous!! The information he gave us on the way to our USS Arizona tour about Pearl harbour was remarkable, he set the scene, filled in the gaps in our knowledge about the attack and gave us chills before we even arrived.. We were totally taken care of by Ariel, he gave us clear instructions to follow to make sure we did not feel lost and unsure.. the whole experience from pick up to drop off was organised and made us feel like we were the priority .. thanks to Aloha Sunshine Tours and especially Ariel!
Tour guide Leena was friendly but didnt give us much information on sites of interest. Was not thorough with instructions when dropping off. Was late by 45 minutes for the pickup and then cut our city tour to 45 minutes and blamed it on traffic but she admitted that she took another group back early. Overall was very disappointed as were many members of our tour group. Very unprofessional
Loved how Ariel would have fun with his ohana. Would definitely take a trip with him again. Was told a lot about the history of O'ahu.
Worst experience of our vacation. This is a long review but worth the time if you are considering. My husband and I took our family of 12 to the Big Island to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. I thought getting a tour company to get us from Kona to Pearl Harbor was a wise choice. Maneuvering a big group can be daunting. I should have done it myself! We paid way too much for what we got, about $4500. The tour says 9Am-4Pm. Jason told us they were to pick us up at airport in Honolulu at 9. The next thing I know our plane leaves Kona at 6AM! So We thought good, we would have time to eat breakfast in Honolulu airport. I was suppose to get info about van driver, but didn’t. Our driver called me at 7:30AM. He was there already. We scrambled to get to van having no idea where to meet him! Couldn’t get Jason to answer phone. We were hungry and rushed. The driver called Jason and I heard Jason say “ Can she hear us?” Driver moved to a position so I couldn’t hear. I then found out that the lines and wait time to Arizona Memorial were so long we needed to be extra early to get in because we were standby not reserved tickets! What? The tour info says admission and tickets included. The tour guide dropped us off at Pearl Harbor and left. He was running shuttles to and fro airport all day! We waited in line for Arizona Memorial for 3.5 hours with teens and children. When we finally got in they ushered us straight to boat and we didn’t see film. By the time we got back from Arizona we had to find food outside the park. One restaurant in walking distance. Long wait. When finished it was time for driver to pick us up for 30 minute tour of Honolulu. Rick the driver did a good job of sharing history. The tour itinerary says visit all the sites but we just drove by. So beware of Jason and this tour. I could have planned this myself for about $2000. I believe the info about this tour to be misleading and fraudulent.
Do not book this trip. It was a rip off. They don't make reservations for the Arizona Memorial, they put you on stand by, which means you stand in line for hours only to be passed up by people who made reservations in advance. Then the historical tour of Honolulu is a drive down a couple of streets with a guide who knows less than you. We could have booked our own flight from the Big Island and back for far less money and the Arizona is free to get into.
As a family of four visiting from Maryland, our experience with Aloha Sunshine Tours was beyond expectations. They are professional, transparent, and considerate. A special shout-out to Mike, who represented well for the island and veterans. Thank you! — J Zhang
