90 Minute Turtle Canyon Waikiki Catamaran Snorkel

I had a fantastic experience. I saw many turtles, schools of large black fish and zebra type fish. They surrounded me. Saw several sea turtles on the service. I'm not a youngster but felt confident with the guidance of the crew: Christine, Stevie and I believe Zack but not sure his name. They were so helpful all around. I'm especially appreciative of Christine who often stayed nearby allowing me to hang onto her board when returning back. The crew was so genuine in their warmth. I highly recommend this excursion.

We want to thank Kyle, Isaiah, & Caleb for a great trip as well as the lifeguard on board for keeping us all accounted for! It was a fun, trip with all the vibes of enjoying some time snorkeling! We saw so many sea turtles , tropical fish and even saw couple sharks on the reef passing by! A cold yummy drink when we were done was perfect 10/10!

This crew is amazing! So fun!! We had a great time!! We were a party of 8 with different levels of swimming skills and all felt safe and comfortable. I had a great time! The guys were knowledgeable, kept us all safe and comfortable, and just gave everybody an all-around good time. I even went back a couple of hours later for a sailing trip with them!

If you can cry in the ocean, you are lucky!! That's how it felt when we were so blessed to see all the beautiful sea life - turtles, vibrant colored fish. We've done a few snorkel tours and this was, by far, the best! The crew were very personable and friendly, but professional.

We stayed at the Sheraton-beach front so we just walked the straight path along the beach side to reach the catamaran. All the other tours were a mile or 3 away and since we didn’t rent a car on this day, Ke Kai location was ideal. It was a short walk away-just passed The Royal Hawaiian. The crew spent a few minutes for safety guidance and to set expectations. Although my kids are avid swimmers, wearing their life vest eased my concerns over their safety. First time snorkelers so beginner level for them. Overall, awesome experience for half my family and myself. My husband and oldest not so much as they got sea sick. I saw 2 turtles swim along the surface and take a breath in, then 2 more hanging out on the ocean floor, there were plenty of fish throughout. Thank you Ke Kai!

First time snorkeling! my children and I were very excited and nervous, they make us feel safe and comfortable with their professional and clear instruction in how to use the equipment. We ended seeing beautiful turtles. Definitely highly recommend them.

The captain n crew cared about us. They made sure we got to a good spot to see things. The made sure we got watched while we were in the water. They checked on us to make sure we got to see the fish and the turtles. Back in the catamaran we all got drinks for the ride home. I felt more than just a number.

Great crew, great experience, beautiful views! We got to see a bunch of turtles, some at the bottom of the ocean and some at the surface. Loved it.

Stevie and Caleb were awesome hosts on the Ke Kai catamaran. The whole experience was great from boarding, to cruising and then snorkeling looking for sea turtles. I would definitely recommend booking a trip with them if you’ve never been snorkeling, it was a great entry experience and they were friendly and informative. The whole experience was amazing.

The absolute best! 6 turtles including one floating on the surface! Kyle, Brandon and 2 I don’t remember names (sorry guys) showed us an amazing time. Very clear and lots to see. To Kyle’s mom, you did good!

We stayed at a hotel in front of the beach where we saw this boat coming every day, so it was easy for us since we just walked to the beach and did our reservation. The boat is in great shape, the crew is pretty good. The water is cold.... we weren't expecting it to be that cold, so we decided to go noon so it would be sunny. We jumped in and sail a few minutes up to where the turtles were. Plenty of colorful fish and some turtles too. Good experience!

Amazing snorkel experience on the Ke Kai! Crew was friendly, fun, and made everything super easy. We saw turtles and the water was beautiful. One of the highlights of our trip—highly recommend! Brandon, Brandon, Noah & Johnny kept us safe and entertained! Highly recommend

We thought the boat & crew were great! Unfortunately, we didn't see any turtles the day we went out and there weren't a ton of fish. There were maybe 7 or 8 boats anchored at the spot and it felt like a chaotic number of snorkelers in the water at the same time. We went at 12:30pm, so I wonder if the visibility isn't as great during that time. They did have drinks included, although as a heads up there's only about 30 minutes during the experience where you can enjoy that. We liked the company and did a regular sailing trip with their sister boat the following day. So overall we liked the company, but I'm not sure I'd recommend turtle canyon specifically. I'm hoping we had a one-off experience in terms of not seeing anything and having so-so visibility, but this was the least awesome activity of our trip. (Kuaola Ranch UTV ride was the best!) We both enjoy being on boats, so that was nice, but the snorkel portion wasn't worth the money. It looks like all the boats there are fairly similar, but seemed to vary in price. If you have the same snorkel experience, I'm not sure that it's worth going with a company that's much more expensive

Good value and a fun experience overall. There were only a few people on the trip, which made it feel relaxed and not crowded on the boat. We were able to walk straight off the beach and onto the boat, which was super convenient. The crew were all awesome—friendly, helpful, and made the whole trip easy and enjoyable. The actual snorkeling conditions weren’t perfect the day I went. Visibility wasn’t great and there were quite a few other groups in the water at Turtle Canyon, which made it feel a bit crowded. That said, I still saw sea turtles resting on the bottom. For $60 USD, I thought it was good value and a fun way to get out on the water for a bit. Even with the less-than-ideal visibility, I’m glad I did it and would recommend it if you’re in Waikīkī and want a quick and convenient boat trip. As a bonus, they also offer all-you-can-drink alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on the ride back to shore, which was a fun way to end the trip.

I'm giving the company 5 stars because they were great. Also, we loved leaving from the beach in Waikiki vs having to travel to another alip. But Turtle Canyon was a disappointment the day we went. We didn't see a single turtle and didn't see many fish. There were maybe 7 or 8 boats in the area and it was completely packed with snorkelers. It constantly felt like we were about to be kicked or accidentally kick someone.

The crew Kyle, Aiden, Leone were all great and very accommodating. They made us feel welcome and were very clear to understand. My son kept dropping his snorkel in the ocean and Kyle kept getting it for him without being bothered. I really appreciate the patience and the complimentary drinks! The vessel was clean and organized. Definitely enjoyed our time!

The crew is great. JJ, Aiden and Kyle are professional, fun and super knowledgeable. I would recommend this activity to anyone. We were able to see plenty of fish, turtles, a couple eagle rays and an abundance of spinner dolphins on the return trip. It is a little crowded while snorkeling, but well worth the hassles. Ample cocktail selections after the snorkel as well.

We absolutely loved our snorkle tour off Waikiki beach with on the Ke Kei catamaran. Crew were super friendly and helpful. You travel a few minutes off the coast and anchor with a bunch of other boats and people. It is busy there but still enjoyable there were several turtles and loads of fish. Everyone loved the time we had and wanted to go again. We booked a sunset sail but were sadly bumped to the sister boat Manu Kai due to weather (which was absolutely awful and subject to a separate review). This boat and trip was totally amazing and the highlight of our holiday. (Group: 2 adults and 3 young adult / teen kids.)

This was my first time ever snorkeling and I had a great experience! We saw 8 sea turtles during our trip! The crew was very entertaining and everyone had very chill vibes. Aidan was our guide in the water and made everything very flexible (our group had some people with free diving experience and people like me with no open water or snorkeling experience). We were in the water at least 45-50 minutes but could get back on the boat at any time. We even saw a turtle surface within 5-10 feet from us! Lots of little fish were everywhere around us when we swam over the shallower reef too. Allison was the bartender on our crew and the post-snorkeling drinks were good and strong! I would totally do this again!

We went on the turtle snorkel tour from Waikiki Hawaii this was so fun. The crew were so helpful and pointed out where the turtles were and kept us feeling safe the whole time we were in the water. On the way back we seen dolphins they stopped the boat so we could see the whole pod. Can’t thank you guys enough this was a very fun and amazing trip.

The catamaran was a great way to visit turtle canyon! The boat trip is cheaper than other boats, but don't think that this doesn't get you a great experience as all the snorkelling boats moor at the same location. The boat leaves from Waikiki beach making it super convenient and there are 2 times offered each day. The team were informative and enthusiastic, both on the boat and in the water, making for a very enjoyable experience. We would definitely recommend this tour.

First and foremost the crew on the Ke Kai were exceptional. Aiden, Caleb, Justin and Travis were phenomenal. Quite simply - everyone has good days and bad days, but my gut says these guys will all convince you (every single day) they are having the best day of their lives and you should be too! They are quick with the jokes, they made sure everyone was comfortable, understood the process/rules, and went about doing their jobs with the biggest/most authentic smiles on their faces the entire trip. We were fortunate enough to have seen 3 large sea turtles - 2 of them up close and personal. And while I would’ve been disappointed if we hadn’t seen any - truthfully I don’t think I would’ve blamed the crew in any way - for as great as they are, (and they were likely the best crew I’ve seen on an kind of boat charter), I don’t believe they had the ability to communicate with the turtles to command them to the surface. From my standpoint, they put us in the best possible spots to see a variety of sea life - but it is the turtles that everyone wants to see - and I will admit that I didn’t find the fish nearly as interesting as you might find in other areas. Long story short - I couldn’t recommend the Ke Kai and this crew any more highly. I do t know what these guys get paid - but from a client perspective I’d argue they deserve a raise. They played a significant role in making it a great trip!

My husband and I took the Ke Kai Catamaran tour to snorkel in Turtle Canyon earlier this week, and it was a great experience! Pick-up is super convenient (right on the beach in front of Duke’s). The crew - Carlos, Mary, JJ, and Nick - were fantastic! They were friendly, helpful, and efficient, ensuring everyone felt safe and had a great time. Highly recommend this company for anyone looking to explore the beautiful underwater world near Waikiki!

We had an amazing time snorkeling Turtle Canyon with our huge family. I cannot say enough great things about the crew! They made us feel so safe, welcomed and well cared for. A special shout out to Mary who made myself and my young girls so comfortable. She helped talk me through the process and made sure that my girls had a good time as well. She really made our trip so special! This was a very young kid friendly trip despite my initial thoughts. Should we ever make our way back to Hawaii again, I would definitely booking my snorkeling trip on the Ke Kai catamaran again. Thanks so much to the fantastic crew. The ride was great. Great guides and captain, etc. Drinks included after snorkel. Saw several turtles at Turtle Canyon and many tropical fish. The water was a little choppy and cloudy on that particular day but I’ve been when it’s crystal clear. On our way back we enjoyed drinks and got to see a large pod of Dolphins up close! Be sure to tip the staff.

Jump on boat right from the beach, 90 minutes perfect length, sail to turtle & fish snorkel on reef. Saw seals, turtles, fish, and even whales! Nice to have cold drink after snorkel. Boat is very clean and crew were well trained and very friendly. They know where the sea turtles are!
