4 Hour Super-raft Snorkeling Experience In Kailua-kona

We had the time of our lives with Captain Kai, Callum and Adam! Communication was on point from the moment we arrived early, by accident, and Adam was constantly checking in with us and other guests to make sure everyone had what they needed and where we were supposed to go. He really has a gift for kindness and hospitality. Captain Kai was clear and hilarious about what was happening, when, and our safety guidelines. We saw spinner dolphins spinning right out of the gate! It was my 8 year old’s first snorkel trip and I made the mistake of not practicing with him before the trip, so he was weirded out by the breathing mechanics of snorkeling. He was not having it, so the first snorkel spot we just hung out on the boat, and Adam was the most gracious host. He was so kind and went out of his way to make sure we had all the snacks, beverages, water we needed while we enjoyed the scenery. I could tell he felt bad that we weren’t snorkeling but it was all on me, and I was just happy to be out on the water. The next stop was Captain Cook and I couldn’t possibly miss that chance so I hopped in and my son was willing to give just the mask a try. One look under water and he was hooked! Adam’s patience and warmth along with Captain Kai’s encouragement made all the difference! The most heart warming part was sharing with them the excitement when it clicked for my son how incredible snorkeling is. They really cared that this little guy now knows how amazing snorkeling is, and it happened at that very moment! I’d like to thank Captain Kai for reminding us that Captain Cook is one of the best snorkeling spots in the world. My excitement encouraged my son to try again and completely turned the day around. Callum is able to snorkel down extremely far and would bring up specimens for us to safely see and touch! That was also a factor in getting my son more interested in trying the mask again. We felt calcium carbonate (I think?) urchin spines that were the wildest texture and material. He brought up other urchin shells, and 2 different sea cucumbers! He was extremely knowledgeable about the ocean life and Hawaiian Culture. His expertise gave us such a greater depth (See what I did there) to the experience. The playlist was great, and my son’s other favorite part of the trip was the “2 loops” the boat did on the way home for fun. If you’re thinking about renting a kayak and going yourself- don’t even bother. I’ve done that before in this cove and it was 1/4 the experience. The team created an opportunity for my son and I to have a once in a lifetime experience and I can’t thank them enough. They seem to really love their work and their joy is infectious. My son wanted to go again the next day.

This tour will take you to a couple nice spots. The first was much less crowded than the second and they have guides that go in the water and will show you where some of the best spots to look are.

The crew Captain Erica and Chris were great very helpful get everything ready for the dive. The scenery was fantastic. Chris was excellent at taking care of drinks, snacks, food and clean up, Chris took great care of all the guests in the water. Captain Erica was great handling the boat, very knowledgeable about the sea life and help all of the guests on and off the boat. This is a fantastic team. I would definitely recommend this tour!!!!

Had a great time on the super raft with Captain Erica, Kyler and Caden! We booked the trip through the Norwegian Cruise Pride of America and it completely blew our expectations away. The ride was so much fun and the crew was super helpful and knowledgeable on the history and area. The amount of wildlife was so cool to see, and for those who are comfortable, it has a crazy drop that you can dive down and swim back up the drop along the coral! Definitely one of the best snorkeling trips we've done in a while and will be back on our next trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed the snorkel trip on the super raft. The boat holds about 20 people (we had 10 in our group) and it is an inflated raft tube around the perimiter but with a solid floor, so it is very sturdy. Snorkeling at Kona is great, we were at the shore in about 45 feet of very clear water near the airport. Went with my wife who is not a strong swimmer and she appreciated wearing a life jacket and the experience of seeing the underwater wild life. Hawaii fish are so colorful! Captain gave us a thrilling boat ride back in the afternoon swells which we enjoyed.

Fantastic snorkeling trip with awesome crew: Kai, Chris and Adam! The crew was helpful and friendly. They were nice enough to point out cool creatures while snorkeling or let you do your own thing. Perfect group size to get to see a lot and spend maximum time at each location. We had a great time and got to see some pretty amazing sights. Huge shout out for having prescription face masks and helping us find the right set to be able to see clearly underwater without my glasses!

Although I didn’t do any snorkelling ( the rest of the family did), it was an awesome trip. The crew - Kai, Chris and Tupo ( sincere apologies if the is mispelt) were amazing . Very knowledgable, friendly and attentive. Food was really good - granola bars, fruit,turkey salad sandwiches ( butties to us English lol) and a pack of chips ( crisps to us lol) and drinks. Family said the snorkelling was just the best but I did see a pod of dolphins. Such a fantastic experience.

Everything about this excursion was perfect!!! Callum, Erica and Brianna were happy, kind, knowledgeable and so so fun!! The boat ride was smooth when it was supposed to be and super fast and wild when that was the objective. The snorkeling spots were awesome, we saw so many fish and coral, dolphins, sea turtle and even were lucky enough to see a whale shark which is totally not normal so we know how lucky we were!!! The nonalcoholic drinks were yummy and plentiful and so was the food/snacks. It was an amazing experience from beginning to end 10 out of 10 for sure!

Our family of five, including children aged 5 and 10, participated in the tour. Surrounded by friendly staff, we were guided smoothly and safely through breakfast and lunch, and everyone stayed together, creating a sense of unity. The attentive staff made sure to check in with each customer during meal service, which was reassuring. Captain Erica, Brianna and Chris were amazing. Captain Erica was great with the boat, music was great and food and drinks were good. The snorkeling was great. We went on the super zodiac boat snorkeling to the Capt.Cook area.The crew were excellent .The boat was excellent.This was probably our favorite excursion we've ever had!The crew was super friendly and appeared very safe and knowledgeable.We wish we could do it again!

Captain Calvin, Captain Kai and McKenna were all top notch people. They perform their tasks with customer service and safety in mind. We had a small group and they all sought to provide extra knowledge regarding the points of interest and sea life. McKenna was always on point in the water with superb situational awareness of our group’s location. She was also continuously sharing her knowledge in the water and on the boat. Upon our having to depart we spent extra time for a large amount of spinner dolphins in the area. I was able to get some phenomenal images due to our lingering. We also took extra time on the return trip when we are believed to have encountered a beaked whale. Enjoyable and Class A experience.

Cpt. Calvin steered us to where the wildlife was, Kai took great care of us passengers and McKenna pointed out the things we could see in the ocean. It was a truly remarkable experience and we were able to see so many species. Topped of by a huge school of dolphins that were very playful and curious. Very recommendable, we‘d do it again in a heartbeat.

We took this tour from 8:30am-12:30pm and it was wonderful! Got to snorkel in two different spots that were full of all kinds of fish. Even spotted dolphins in 2 different spots and got to watch them play. Staff was great and provided everything we needed, from gear to snacks and a sandwich lunch. Was great to do an early morning activity and be back to the hotel with plenty of time to still enjoy the rest of our day.

This was a pretty epic tour. The boat ride is fun / fast. The tunes were blasting. The snorkel spot was great. They were awesome with my mom who has some mobility struggles. The crew was great. The gear was pretty solid. It all added up to an awesome morning on the water. Only thing I would change is that the included sandwich was kind of plain. Oh, and I got to show my wife an octopus on the reef. Fun times! Erica was great! Hope she has fun rafting!

Need to watch “all” the guests in the water. My friend needed help, was far away from the raft, I pointed her out to the staff because they did not seem to be aware of her waving for help. After bringing this to their attention, they were extremely attentive, they did not overreact and handled the situation very well. The trip was amazing.

This was a great snorkeling tour. It was a small boat, which made it more enjoyable. Lunch was very good and the snorkeling sites covered a variety of areas. The first snorkeling site was definitely the best, which made the second one somewhat of a let-down, but seeing how crowded the first one got, I'm glad we went there first when there were not many people!

We had the best morning snorkeling with Captain Channeling and Cyler. They were awesome. 2 great snorkel stops and nice lunch. Cyler was a great guide in the water. Highly recommend this snorkeling trip!

Kai and Chris were our guides. They were so friendly, knowledgeable, fun and chill. It was me and my husband and 3 teenagers. My kids all said it was the best part of our trip to the islands. There were only 13 on our trip and that was perfect for us. Being from Wyoming, we don't care for large crowds. Don't let the small size fool you. It was a terrific day! Had a great morning on the super raft with crew members Kai, Channing, and McKenna - who were full of super info. The snorkeling was great and on the return trip we were lucky enough to see a couple of humpback whales frolicking! Great trip overall and highly recommend!!

This was SO amazingly worth doing! I usually stay away from paid yours when I travel but everything here was such a great experience that I would gladly do it again if I come back to the big island. The boat ride was perfect and there were only 10 people on the tour so it wasn't crowded at all. We saw so many dolphins and even pilot whales plus snorkeled for about 2 hours split between two different locations. They even have us great fresh fruit, beverages, and a nice lunch towards the end. The staff made me feel so comfortable and I love adventures and usually don't fancy much talking and instruction but this was just perfect!

Great staff! Made the trip a lot of fun. Great boat, a lot of shade! I know Snorkle locations are random, but I'm so happy they went to the Captain Hook monument. Kids enjoyed the snacks! Little granola bar breakfast, and a tasty little sandwich after the 2nd snorkel stop.

We had 18 of us going 8 adults 10 kids (9-18). Food was great, service was great. Were able to snorkel, slide and jump into ocean off the boat. Even saw a whale and dolphin on way back. It was great.

Best trip we've ever had on the Big Island! Nice comfortable raft, very clean, convenient details like under seat compartments. Erika and Chris are an amazing crew! Lots of attention to us tourists, lots of useful information, lots of good jokes. Oh, and the food was great too - hearty turkey sandwiches, granola bars, cookies and unlimited cold drinks. Erika and Chris took us to a few less known places where we had the entire snorkeling area to ourselves and could see amazing rock formations like arches with waterfalls, caves, etc. They even went above and beyond and extended our trip by taking us to the place where we could see a bunch of whales! Low season, so we had only 6 people on our trip, so it really felt like a semi private charter tour!!! Highly, very highly recommended!

Captain Kai and Crew were friendly, attentive, and made us feel safe. We stopped first at Two step beach for amazing fish and other sea life. Being in the super raft allowed us good access and an opportunity to arrive before the other boats. Love that the seats on the boat were shaded from the sun. Super fun ride back up the coast and Captain Kai maneuvered into coves and sped around points. Also had plenty of time to snorkel at cove by Captain Cook's monument, so we could snorkel the whole curve of the bay. There was a crew member in the water at all times to assist or answer questions if we wanted. Most importantly, the company and crew were very environmentally conscious, from the items on board, food serving and packaging, and stopping to retrieve floating trash. Thank-you for providing food and drinks from the islands. Really made the whole adventure one we will never forget.

Took my daughter and six of her friends on a morning snorkel trip to celebrate her 16th birthday. What an unforgettable experience. The snorkeling was wonderful and all the fun rafts, paddleboards, slide and high jump were put in good use. The boat was really clean and organized, the captain and her crew were engaging, fun and professional. The food was excellent - some lovely fresh fruit, yoghurt and granola for breakfast and burgers for lunch with some great toppings ! The absolute highlight was when on our return we encountered a HUGE pod of melon head whales. First time I'd heard of the species and boy did they make an impression!

Really like the the layout of the super raft. It was only half full for our tour so that gave us plenty of space. All team members were friendly and professional. We had been to the snorkel spots before, but liked the boat layout better. We prefer to snorkel on our own vs being guided but operator has a person in the water for newbies.

This was super awesome. Captain Kai and First Mate Chris were great, so friendly, and attended to our needs. The ride on the super raft was fun and different from our normal ‘big ship’ snorkeling tours. Before even snorkeling they gave us snacks and beverages and we also saw dolphins all over the place. Then the snorkeling was totally awesome in two different locations. All kinds of fish. Chris was in the water with us and pointed out turtles and even found some reef sharks. Chris also grabbed a star fish from the bottom and let us hold it. He was a great guide. Had lunch on way back and did t even know that was going to happen. You have to do this tour while in Kona … we loved it!

Boat ride was comfortable & the food was good (drinks, granola bars made in Hawaii, turkey sandwiches, chips, fresh fruit, chocolate chip cookies). The snorkeling was great and floaties were offered. We stopped at two locations and saw lots of fish and coral. We definitely recommend this snorkeling excursion!

If you have teens or even older kids over the age of 5 who love to snorkel, this is the trip for you! The zodiac boat was speedy and nimble - quite a thrill! Our awesome crew Capt Kai, Cosmos, and Cuylar were great guides and super knowledgeable. We arrived at Two Step first which was in perfect condition and the to Kealakakua Bay. Snacks, drinks and a lunch were the perfect accompaniment for the trip. I absolutely loved that the crew picked up some errant trash left in the ocean; they were very conscientious about keeping the waters clean. Will definitely book this trip again!

Captain Erica brought us to two wonderful snorkeling spots- where we snorkeled in crystal clear water without huge crowds around us. The fish and sights- caves, lava tubes & coral reefs were just breathtaking. We had 3 teens with us and all 5 of us gave it five stars. Riding along the coast super fast with a great playlist was icing on the cake. I’ve never written a review before, but we were so impressed I just had to do it. Wow! This trip was absolutely amazing! Katie, the reservations lady was so friendly, informative & helpful. Captain Kai, First Mate Chris & Naturalist Britany were all great. Safety was a priory, which made us feel safe. As we headed out of the harbour, passed our cruise ship, Kai picked up speed & together with the music blasting, it felt very exciting & thrilling. Britany was FULL of fun, informative whale facts & it was clearly obvious just how passionate she is about her job. After about 40 minutes on what was a trilling boat ride, mainly hugging the coast, which enabled us to enjoy the Hawaiian scenery too, we excitedly came across a pod of 3 Humpback Whales. We watched them & slowly followed them. During the trip we spotted about 12 whales. One swam very close to the boat. Seeing them so close was an incredible experience which we will never forget. Britany constantly gave us information on all types of whales, which we found very interesting. On the return journey, we spotted a couple more. Drinks were available at all times & we enjoyed a snack too. Nothing was too much trouble. Chris popped round a number of times to check we were okay & to check if we needed more drinks. The trip lasted roughly 3.5 hours. On the return journey, Kai stopped the boat to scoop up a balloon which was floating in the sea. It is very clear that they were all very passionate about the environment, conservation & the Marine habitat. We are so thrilled that we took this trip & will definitely do it again if we return.
