The water was really nice in the beginning but it was choppy which is out of everyone’s control. If you get motion sickness definitely take ginger vitamins, prescribed meds, or over the counter meds to help. The videos were so good and rental gear was provided. It was my first time and I got motion sickness but I did take ginger vitamins that helped wished I took a little more. The water was crystal blue which was beautiful and we saw dolphins swimming which was awesome! They provided drinks and snacks which thank you.

We had a wonderful time on the tour! We found them through Costco and would recommend them to anyone. Captain Trevor with Diego and Tamae were a wonderful crew and made it such a great experience. The boat was clean and had nice shade on the ride back and forth to the snorkeling spot. They provided sodas, waters, snacks, and grilled hot dogs for lunch. Tamae even shared her photos and videos from the tour with us afterwards. Our family enjoyed the trip and would highly recommend booking them on your trip!
fun experience except for not kid friendly because of how the employees were dresssed. one female was walking around in a bikini that barely covered her nipples and was a thong bottom. i had my daughter asking me what she was wearing? where the rest of her suit was? why is she walking around practically naked and is okay with it? not to mention while “doing the job” and tightening ropes and things like that. one female had no issues placing her chest and ass i my partners face. he told me he felt very uncomfortable but was afraid to say anything to them. then she turned around and asked for a tip for doing a job she’s already getting paid to do. ridiculous if you ask me. you pay over $100 per person to do this and then they ask you for a tip! it’s their job to do what they are doing. why do i need to pay out more???
It was great for the price we saw dolphins and they took us to calmer water to snorkel with fishes it was a great experience. They were so nice to my daughter and had a party pit floaty so she didn't get in the water put got to float and see fishes from there
Our adult family of 5 had a fabulous experience with Trevor, Madi, & Tamae. Beautiful views, tons of dolphins, and two areas in which to snorkel. They are hospitable, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Tamae even shared videos that she took on our trip, from the boat and below water as an added bonus! I highly recommend and would do again if I come back to The Big Island of Hawai’i.
Amazing way to see part of Hawaii you can’t really on your own! We saw dolphins, amazing boat ride and the snorkeling was fabulous!
My family and I did a snorkeling trip, and it was amazing. Our all-female crew Lena, Madi and Tamae were very welcoming, knowledgeable and experienced. We enjoyed being out on the boat. seeing the spinner dolphins, lots of fish and even got to see a tiger shark spotted from the boat.
Had an amazing experience with Madi and Lena! We saw so many dolphins and whales 🤩 Madi and Lena were so informative about the marine life and was such great vibes to be around!! I loved that we stopped any time we saw something pop up in the water. Did not feel rushed at all. This experience is best for anyone who wants to enjoy being out on the water!! 10/10 would do this again
We had an amazing time! We saw turtles, dolphins and whales. The crew was fantastic! Would definitely recommend the snorkeling trip.
We just got back from this tour today! Maddie and Trevor were our guides, and as soon as we left the harbor we saw spinner dolphins! Amazing and beautiful. Also, on our way to our snorkeling site, Maddie and Trevor saw Manta Rays swimming. They stopped the boat and we were able to get out and swim with these majestic creatures! We were about to get most of the family in the water to see, even our 3 yr old! Our guides were accommodating, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable about the ocean and ocean life. If you are looking for a fun family adventure, this is a great one!
Trevor, Madison and Diego were the greatest! They were personable, fun and Diego knows a lot of the history. He was fun to listen to and learn from
Awesome experience, we were able to see a ton of spinner dolphins fron the cruise. The crew was really knowledgeable and guided us to the coral and some great snorkeling spots
Had and absolutel blast on this trip. Trevor and Diego were just awesome and I loved thier knowledge and ancient hawaiian stories. Learned a lot from them. The snorkeling gear was great and they just made the experience spacial. Highly recommend this tour company. Would definitely go out with them again when we return to the Big Island.
We had an AMAZING time on this tour with Scott and Captain Lena. They were so knowledgeable and took us to the most amazing spots where we saw spinner dolphins, sea turtles, an awesome variety of fish, and even spotted eagle rays! I loved the laid-back vibes, I didn’t feel so much like a tourist but more like we were all just hanging out with friends!
My son and I had such an amazing time on this excursion. The snorkeling was so much fun. We also saw dolphins along the way. Our tour guides (Trev, Maddie & Diego) were so knowledgeable and accommodating. This is by far the best experience we have had during our trip. I highly recommend taking this excursion.
So amazing, the crew was knowledgeable and very helpful. Maddy and Emma (hopefully that was the captains name!) were very good. Great snorkeling.
It was a really clear, beautiful day and the views were to die for, from the super deep blue water to the spinner dolphins jumping out of the water, to the canoe race we came across, etc. We had so much fun and took so many photos both on the boat and while underwater snorkeling. The crew were amazing, especially Lina and Mitch. Oh, and a preemptive congratulations to Mitch on becoming a captain! Thanks guys!
I was lost and Scott stayed in the phone with me until I found the place. My son has autism and he was trepid about getting in the water. Tamar was wonderful with my so. And helped be brave. He said it was a highlight. The rest were kind and would frequently offer snacks and drinks and gave us a meal. I snorkel a but and this was by far the clearest and the bestest. I finally felt like I was in a national geographic program about fish.
Amy, Madi and Tamae were amazing. They made the adventure so fun. We didn’t get to see turtles but we saw dolphins and were able to snorkel. Lunch was fun with hot dogs drinks and chips.
We had a fantastic time snorkeling with our crew - Amae, Mitch, and Trevor were amazing! The tour absolutely delivered on its title. as we saw a bunch of spinner dolphins immediately upon entering the harbor, and when we went to the second location (they bring you to 2 spots) for snorkeling, my husband even encountered an endangered monk seal (one of only 10 on the whole Big Island!) who swam with us for a few minutes and it was icing on the cake of this magical snorkeling day! Would definitely recommend you bring your own reef-approved sunscreen and reapply throughout the boat tour as the direct sun was pretty intense. The crew were very kind, knowledgeable, and Amae even captured some footage of us snorkeling and with her GoPro down near the reef of the local fish. If you have a waterproof camera bag, bring it as you won't be disappointed with what you capture! Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Kona and looking for close encounters with island creatures :)
This tour was unforgettable! We got to swim in the open ocean, saw tons of dolphins, and even spotted a sea turtle—such a cool surprise. The crew was super friendly and informative, sharing fun facts the whole way. And yes, the hot dogs were unexpectedly awesome! 😄 Highly recommend this tour for a fun, nature-filled adventure!
It was a great time. The staff was extremely friendly and helped make it extremely memorable. They even take a video of the experience on a go pro for you to remember.
A great experience, except the bbq was only okay, and the snorkeling was not too exciting. The staff, the process, the boat were all wonderful.
Trained medical staff for toe injury. Thanks Diego, Scott and Trevor. We saw spinner dolphin and a turtle so the tour was everything advertised.
Lina Mitch and Scott was very kind and professional. Super cool crew. With wittiness and knowledge of marine biology. Great experience. I was scared if the tour was too advanced for beginners but Mitch encouraged us with support and Lina give everyone confidence and care. Scott gave rich Hawaii history sharing. Feel very safe and cared on this trip. Definitely recommend to my friends back home.
Amazing experience, we took our kids and they loved it. The crew was very friendly and fun. We saw dolphins for the very first time!
The guys on the ship were very attentive. My husband was having some difficulty swimming and before I could even signal them they were there helping him back to the boat. Once he got back he put a life jacket for snorkeling and still wanted to get in the water. He enjoyed it and said he saw the fish. I love snorkeling so I am glad he still got to enjoy it despite his initial fear. Thank you Trevor, Scott and Diego. You were very kind
Trevor and Kama were wonderful! They were helpful with getting us ready to Snorkel. They knew the best place to fine fish, turtles and dolphins! The whole family had a fun day! Best boat trip ever!!
On the island of Hawaii, it is no longer possible to swim with or touch the dolphins. You cannot even approach dolphins. But it doesn't matter if the dolphins get close to people. This time we were lucky! Because a lot of dolphins swam leisurely into our snorkelling area! And They passed right under us!
My husband and I did this on our honeymoon and it was great. Scott, Trevor and Tamae were all so friendly, attentive and knowledgable. Despite the water being a bit choppy and a swell coming in they still made sure we got some awesome snorkelling in and still saw some dolphins. They really looked after us all with drinks, snacks and the hot dog lunch and fresh pineapple was really delicious. Would absolutely recommend this and the night time manta ray expedition with these guys - we did both!
Mitch and Louis were great! Would definitely recommend ❤️ Loved seeing the dolphins. The bbq towards the end was a great treat too!
This tour was awesome! We had been out on their Manta snorkle trip the evening before and then we decided to also go out with them for the 3 hours Dolphin watch, reef snorkle, and BBQ lunch the next morning. So, you can tell that we enjoyed our time with Iruka Hawaii. For the Dolphin watch trip Mitch and Louie were great, intercative, and informative. They took us on two lovely spots, and even found us a huge pod of spinner dolphins. We got a great up close view of an eagle ray. It was a great trip. I recommend them, and would go back out with Iruka Hawaii, again!
Was a great experience but waters were rough. Didn’t see as many fish as I thought but did see dolphins.
A once in a lifetime experience which was beyond all expectations. The crew , Trevor, Scott and Tamae were fantastic, very knowledgeable and made the whole experience very enjoyable. Seeing dolphins and turtles from the boat was fantastic but actually getting to swim with a pod of over 100 spotted dolphins was out of this world. The places we were taken to for snorkeling were wonderful with so many fish to see. Luckily Tamae filmed us swimming with the dolphins so we have a perfect way to relive our experience. Thanks so much guys, memories that will live with us for ever. Mark, Cheryl and Holly
Super fun snorkel trip! Lena, Mitch and Scott were awesome. Saw many types of beautiful fish and beautiful coral. 🪸 🐟 🐠 🩷
Trevor, Scott, and Diego were great to be around, friendly, and knowledgeable. This tour was worth every penny and I would recommend for anyone. We saw 3 types of dolphins, whales, and all kinds of reef wild life. I already want to go again.
Just had a tour in Kona today with Mitch and Louie and they were great! They were patient with us getting into the water (it’s been a long time since we snorkeled) and my son ended up being too scared to swim in the ocean, but they were very accommodating about letting him stay on the boat and hooked him up with some snacks. We loved how they were also passionate about the wildlife, they helped us find some spinner dolphins and a pod of melon headed whale, which they said were a pretty rare sight. Thanks for the awesome morning guys! We got a little seasick with the big waves on the boat and in the water so they recommended taking Dramamine the night before not right before the next time we do a boat trip. Good advice! Also I appreciated the email with detailed instructions, a map and photos of how to find them. Apple Maps took me to the other side if the marina.
Our family had a great trip watching the dolphins, snorkeling, and seeing a pod of pilot whales snoozing near where we were swimming. Captain Lena and crew Diego and Mitch were outstanding and very helpful in getting our disabled daughter on and off the boat and in and out of the water.
Lena, Mitch, and Diego were extremely friendly and helpful. They knew where to take us to find aquatic life. We saw so many animals! They also knew a lot of history and facts about the animals we saw. We felt very safe and had a blast swimming around. Great music and food! They made sure we all felt comfortable and understood what to do. 100% would recommend!
What an amazing day! Dolphins and short fin pilot whales!!! The crew was amazing and took such good care of us. Lena, Diego, and Mitchell made it very special!
Tim and Taylor were AMAZING! We saw whales, reef sharks and so many fish. They were beyond friendly and answered all of our silly questions. For my first time snorkeling they helped make us feel safe and comfortable. Not to mention the hotdogs were so yummy. Coming back soon to do another snorkle trip. They got us hooked. Mahalo guys!
The experience with Mitch & Lena was nothing but awesome. These guys made my family and I extremely comfortable sailing and venturing with them. They made my family and I feel like family. They made our experience the top highlight of our trip. The peace and excitement that these two provided was simply amazing and I would do it all again with only with Mitch and Lena.
You could not not ask for a more friendly and relaxed crew. Louie took us out to some spectacular snorkel spots. We got to swim with turtles and lounge on the inflatable raft. The crew cooked us up something scrumptious and we raced over to get the chance to swim through a massive school of fish. Scott and Louie you will forever have my business.
Awesome experience! The whole boat ride was a memory to last a lifetime. Trevor, Mitch and Tamae was very professional, fun and accommodating. Food was a nice treat. Would def go again and recommend to all! Mahalo!
Brilliant hosts in Trevor, Scott and Tamae. Great snorkelling, saw dolphins from a distance and swam with a turtle. Food was OK too.
The operators were very friendly and knowledgeable. They took us to 2 spots where we went snorkeling and wasn't very busy so that was nice. They provided snacks and drinks as well as giving us the time to snorkel around. We did not see any dolphins along the way but enough of the same fish I suppose.
Fantastic trip! Captain Trevor, Scott and Tamae were incredible. So friendly and knowledgeable. They took us to wonderful spots with amazing snorkeling without the hordes of tourists, grilled us Hawaii hotdogs right on the boat, and shared some of the history of The Big Island you can tell they love so much. Tamae took some great (free) footage of my boys swimming through underwater arches, the turtles we spotted, and the breathtaking Hawaiian views. I’d give these guys more stars if I could!
Overall, this was a great experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and they care about their guests! Customer service was top notch, and they made sure everyone was taken care of and safe. The only thing is that I was not expecting the boat to go so fast in the water, so that part had me afraid, I am not going to lie to you. I've done snorkeling in another country before so I was expecting a smooth peaceful ride out to the snorkeling spot like I had done previously. Just be prepared for a fast ride! Other than that, I would highly recommend this tour.
Captain Trevor, Diego and Scott were fabulous. They were knowledgeable and spent extra time with the group explaining how whales communicate and how they travel. We were able to see and hear a whale which was amazing; could have spent the whole time just doing that. Snorkeling was great, they made 1st time snorkeling participants comfortable, ensuring we knew how to enter the water and what to do once in the water. It was a great time and my family of 6 said "It was our favorite part of the trip". We would do an excursion with this crew again!
If you want to go out and swim with dolphins, this is the boat that will ensure come hell, or Highwater, will swim with dolphins. Unless, of course, you bring a banana… Don’t bring a banana. The crew is friendly. The captain (Pappa) is charming and endearing, but this is not an over the top, Let’s pretend we love all tourists, fake adventure. In a way, you feel like you’re with family out on the sea. The dolphin part can be a little frenetic trying to do the timing but the rest of the adventures soothing as time at sea should be.
